Recently took my Motorcycle Skills Test here. Gentleman who assisted me was extremely professional, fair, friendly, and clear with instructions while test-taking me.If you are coming here for the Motorcycle Skills Test, the lot is extremely small and the MSF course at Virginia Tech may be a more friendly way to get endorsed but it is simple regardless for anyone with basic control of their bike.

I always go to this DMV.I live in Lynchburg and don t mind the drive, because Lynchburg DMV even Bedford s DMV!!!- are ALWAYS SUPER BUSY!!Bedford at least you can get up to the desk in a decent amount of time to get your place in line # ticket, then sit down but it s a good wait But? Lynchburg is horrible because at times there is a LOOONG line wrapped around the building inside (and one time I went there it was wrapped ALL the way around inside AND ALSO made its way OUTSIDE), then once you FINALLY get up to the counter to get your place in line ticket then you sit for what seems like FOREVER.Firstly, I canNOT stand and wait THAT LONG for place in line to do my business it kills my back, and secondly I hate sitting for that long around SO MANY people because I have severe panic and anxiety and social anxiety disorder. Just can t do it .Altavista Longest I ve ever waited was maybe 30-ish mins tops.That s even during Covid-Pre Covid.. After Covid And if you make an appointment you get seen and get your business down even QUICKER.So yah, I ll take that drive up to Altavista DMV any day!! lol.Also to add, the inside is smaller than all the other surrounding DMVs too, so it helps my anxiety because there s not like a MILLION people around me. :-D

Don't bother coming in early and hoping to get seen before other people bc we been here since 12 and people that came in after us got seen before us. They came for the same thing we did. Made us wait with our baby crying when we came in hours before they did

Drove 40 minutes to this location and they did not give me enough information about out of state car registration. They said you will mail to this address a check and this application and it turned to be more money and two applications. All I got from this situation is a delay . I do not know why I was misinformed. I emailed the enforcement office of DMV and they argued that this shouldn t have happened and it is easy to call them for more information. You will wait for about an hour on the phone to get a hold of someone. You have to call multiple times, so you can be connected to an agent for about an hour.

Had to come all the way to Altavista DMV due to Roanoke, Lynchburg and Bedford not having any open appointments until the middle of next month. They're only doing appointments only as well. I figured things would go a lot quicker than a normal trip to DMV being that it's by appointment and no waiting in line, but I was wrong! Only here for a simple title transfer n been here over an hour.

I have personally not had many issues out of this location. They have a few employees who are a little attitudinal but, for the most part, one of my favorite location to go to if I just have to.Ashley was absolutely amazing and super patient in spite of my 5 million questions and requests.

I have lived all over the country, I have been to many DMV's. This was the most knowledgeable, polite, and easiest DMV staff I have ever dealt with. They made the process as easy and painless as possible.

Just like all DMVs, this one is just as miserable as the rest, people taking forever, can't get half the things done you're trying to do, I thought the reservation system would be better but it's just an excuse for them to see less people and move slower. Now this isn't a bad review for Alta Vista DMV specifically, every single d m v I have had the displeasure of dealing with have all been exactly the same.

The two ladies at the front desk were very rude and acted like they were royalty. My appearance was made fun by them and they were being very rudely sarcastic. Also, the eye rolling, the scoffing, and the cackling didn t stop.0/10-wouldnt recommend

Terrible service. I had a 12.20 appt. Didn't leave until 3.15 or so. None of 5 clerks could figure out how to process my new title bc previously had window tint which was removed. I had all paperwork. They had to get customer support from Richmond to fix issue.

Everyone was super nice, there was minimal wait time to receive service. The lady that waited on me was professional and courteous. Completed my transaction in a reasonable time.

Is a blessing that in our situation! We have the opportunity to have a privilege card, I know that is many people involved who make this real, thanks to everyone, but overall to Jesus, thanks Lord Jesus, I love you!!, the Altavista DMV service is excellent, they care ! Thanks to everyone!! Great job!

Absolutely horrendous!! Customer Service is nonexistent, there is NONE! I was treated like scum.I let it go until the lady at the counter fired off on the elderly man who was waiting behind me, it was clear he was a proud veteran by his ball cap and shirt! The man asked a question and she smarted off and spoke to him like trash, so I butted in to ask her, her name for her to respond with her last name and the response of she s the assistant manager!! OH MY!! Well there s the problem when your management has no respect for anyone not even an elderly person a veteran at that what can you really expect!! Sad Story DO BETTER ALTIVISTA

Absolutely the best visit I have ever experienced at any DMV. Kudo's to the Altavista DMV team. I live 30 miles away, it is well worth my drive to go back.Thank you Altavista DMV.They are front line workers as well.

Made an appointment online and with covid we had to wait 2 months but we got in and titled and registered in 15 minutes. Everyone was so nice and even thanked my husband for his service

I went to this DMV to get the new license. The man at window 1 said I needed my marriage license, after i came back in to ask about if i could get the regularLicense he then said I could pay $14 and they could pull it up they couldnt so I drove back to lynchburg and got the marrage license and paid $14 again since i had the marrage license but that was not what they wanted They looked in the computer system twice and said they couldn't pull up the info and I had a copy of it stating that we got our license in Bedford county. I called Bedford county court when I left DMV and they could pull it up right away. The lady told me that the DMVs computer doesn't show all the information. I paid 24 dollars for nothing and wasted a whole day for nothing. I tried to call the DMV back and could never get anyone to answer the phone. A whole day wasted trying to get my license.

The only improvement would be a shorter wait, but Covid19 first requires a sign up about 3 months before the appointment. Hopefully, the license will arrive in the mail soon!

The worst experience of my life. Customer service representatives weren't friendly. Had me come back in to only sit in the chair for an hour until they called me, I could have remained in the vehicle till they called me.

I waited for two hours while other people walked right in the door and were waited on. This quequing system that you have isn't a better service as it states on your ticket numbers that I was given...I only needed to renew my tags. Very poor system and service.

Even tho they were busy and working under covid guidelines, everyone was very friendly and the wait was not that bad.
