As someone relatively new to the area it is hard to find mechanics you can trust. After having a negative experience somewhere else with a bill I felt was way to high unnecessary work to pass inspection I was referred to Van Dorn Auto Repair. Here i received a much more reasonable estimate and amazing customer service. Not only does this business have top of the line customer service, but they are also very informative about what your car needs and you feel like they give you a good understanding of what you are paying for. The cost for repairs was more than fair (much better and more accurate than recently quoted elsewhere) and I left feeling confident my car was worked on properly. I will only come to this place in the future for all of my auto needs! I highly recommend!!!

Honest and efficient, me and my family have been coming here for all of our automotive repair needs for over 15 years! Sachindra, the owner, has encyclopedic knowledge about cars. He is a Toyota mechanical guru and even knows Mini Coopers. We trust his advice and his fair price, and he's never steered us wrong! (yes, pun intended :-). Seriously, give these guys a try. You won't regret it!

I had a lot of work that needed done on my car recently. It was one of the most expensive mechanical bills I have ever had and I was worried about having to spend that much money. The mechanics told me it would be like getting a new car back when they were done, I wasn't sure I believed them but it had to be done. When I went and picked up my car last week I literally turned it on and was amazed from that moment on. They truly did a fantastic job and my car really does feel like a new car. They did beyond an amazing job and I highly recommend them for life!

Sachi and the crew have been excellent throughout the years. They ve helped out with yearly inspections, troubleshooting issues. Shout out to Gianmarco for his excellent work R&R ng the transmission, engine and transmission mounts, and transmission crossmember. Even helped replace wiper arms, and an oil change. 2/29/2024. I've been a loyal customer for years. I tend to keep my cars a long time, and have appreciated the honest, prompt, and competent work that keeps the car running well.Besides, they treat me like family. I wouldn't trust my car to anyone else!

They are really cool and really honest. I've had work done by them twice now and am happy with both visits. The only thing I'm worried about is more people finding out about how good they are, they'll run out of openings for me and then I'll have to go through the nightmare of settling for some second rate auto repair place that I'll end up hating and regretting that I ever went to. But that's my anxiety talking. They're really good people

I can not recommend this shop as they are dishonest and charged me for work not completed. I took my car in with the check engine light on for a cylinder misfire. They claimed to replace all the spark plugs as well as some additional work. Check engine light came back on after driving the car in a few days. I took it back, they said their work was good but that I should probably get an extended warranty and then bring it back after a month when it kicked in because I was probably going to need a new engine or at least some major repairs. I took it to another shop for a second opinion. They said 3 of the sparkplugs had not been changed including a corroded and bent sparkplug they showed me on the cylinder indicating the misfire. When I wrote to ask for a refund no response. We tried to get some money back through our credit card company, but the shop insisted they did the work. My car has been running well with no check engine light since the work was completed at the other shop.

Highly recommend this auto repair shop. They were able to fit me in right away, extremely professional staff, communicated with me throughout the repair/warranty process, and fixed my vehicle quickly. Plan to use them again in the future, should another issue arise.

Let me start by saying this place is a breath of fresh air. Very honest! Which to me means a lot when it comes to car repair shop. They provide you with all of the options based on your budget and issues. Reasonable prices: I take my car in for preventative maintenance .

I couldn t ask for a better service. After they figure out the problem with my car they gave me different options on how to fix it with an explanation of its pros and cons very good price too !!! The only shop I can trust with my car is Van done auto!!! Keep up the great work!!!

My air suspension light illuminated first intermittently and later steadily. Utilizing his repair savvy and following the logic tree, the technician quickly diagnosed the problem to a weak/failing air suspension system pump and a faulty valve block. Luckily the parts were on hand and quickly delivered. Both, the valve block and pump were removed and replaced and the system reprogrammed. After a brief test drive I was on my way home. Because my first visit to the tap air shop was so pleasant I chose to remain in the customer wait room and like before I enthusiastically engaged in laughter and gained general automotive knowledge. I m in no hurry to go back, (due to costs of repair parts), but when required will do so! I highly recommend having your car checked and serviced at the Van Dorn Auto Shop. I got a car issue for almost a month I ve been visiting 2 mechanics and also the Nissan dealer and they told me it was the transmission problem and It will be so expensive to fix that and then thank God I found this amazing place they helped me a lot everyone is so Nice I recommend the mechanic Giancarlo he s so professional and he knows so fast how was the problem it wasn t the transmission it was the alternator!!! right now my car is so perfect I highly recommend this place!!

On the recommendation of a co-worker I took my vehicle to the shop. They phoned me and told me what the issue was, how they could fix it and how much it would cost to fix the problem. Excellent customer service and communication! My invoice also included what concerns I should look out for in the future. I will definitely go back and have already recommended another co-worker to take their vehicle by the shop.

First time going to Van Dorn Auto repair. Brake drum cylinder was leaking and lost stopping power. I was luckily 10 mins away and dropped off car. The fixed it expeditiously and communication throughout the whole process was much appreciated. The guys are reputable, courteous and even told me to come back so they could adjust e-brake a few days later. I m highly satisfied and I ll be coming back for any work. Legit business , honest work with reasonable prices!

They repaired my Gf car over the weekend, they were absolutely amazing. Usually I am concerned about mechanic shops because of past incidents. All quality's i look for in a shop they had! Great CUSTOMER SERVICE from the phone calls to in person. The PRICE was the best offered, we called 5 different shops and this one was best price. The repair was done in TIMELY manner, literally repaired a water pump in 2 hours. We was in and out in the same day. Leo took car of us and was very friendly. The mechanic (forgot his name) that serviced our vehicle was very detailed in letting us know the issues! I will be returning whenever I need service again, Thanks again!

Recently moved to the area and googled best auto repair shops in the area and Van Dorn had one of the most +5 star reviews. Making appointments are easy, and if you need a ride back or to borrow a vehicle until your car is complete they happily make it possible for you so you can get back to your family or run errands. Staff are wonderful to work with, honest, and never try to pressure you into having more work done on your vehicle than is needed to drive safely. Prices are competitive and the team is very professional and personable. Will continue to go to them as long as we live in NOVA! I have used this shop for many year and several different cars, this latest situation was a bit lengthy mostly because of the warranty company and towards the end it even had an exchange of words with the owner and myself at the end of the day they did an amazing job and my vehicle is running better than when I first purchased it. I m so glad the shop owner and me worked out our differences because really I can t see me taking my car anywhere else to be serviced or repaired! I was driving down the hwy and my engine malfunction light came on. My car started acting like it was going to cut off so I took the next exit and pulled into a parking lot. I searched Google for a nearby auto repair shop. I called Van Dorn Auto Repair and told them what was going on. Within an hour they gave me a diagnosis of the problem. My car was fixed and ready later that day. My car runs smooth and the acceleration is like a new car. I think I have found my new auto repair shop. Just honest to goodness work. It's hard to find mechanics in this area with really good service and great attitude. This place has both. I've brought my car in twice for major fixes and they've done a prompt job plus they check in afterwards. Great place to go!

This may be a long one so bare with me . I have been a Mercedes owner for a while and i stopped going to the Mercedes dealership for service because they basically was taking my money! I started going to another mechanic in Alexandria, who I thought was taking good car e of my car, he came highly recommended!!! Little did I know, he was just as bad!!! I m thinking I m getting all the maintenance the car is supposed to get! So not the case! Well he sold the shop and I had to find a new shop to take my car!!!! Well the Lord knew I didn t want to buy another car, in comes Van Dorn Auto Repair Shop!!!!!! I can t express enough how happy I am with them and their service.Sashi and his staff are some amazing people!!!!! They took the time out to run a complete diagnostic check of my car, I do mean COMPLETE!!!! I wasn t happy with the results because I was thinking my prior mechanic was handling it!!! Boy was I wrong!!! When I got my car back from Van Dorn Auto Repair, it is purring like a kitten, they saved me thousands of dollars!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SASHI and his team!!! if you have a old car you know you have to be careful on where to take it.I was lucky to find Van Dorn Auto Repair. They not only fix your car, but explain everything in details.a place to leave your car and feel safe.I had bad experience while living in Miami and when I brought SSR to Van Dorn , they were able to correct all mistakes the dealers in Miami did.I totally recommend.

I ve been to so many mechanics and Van Dorn Auto Repair has easily been the best. From their customer focused service to the actual work they do to the vehicle- they are a shop I would recommend to anyone. They have gone above and beyond to fix my car for separate issues when I was having problems. They were very informative with the explanation of my car problems. They made it a point to make sure my car was safe and fixed for a long road trip. They care for their customers. Everyone I ve worked with here have been so kind and helpful. Had a scary experience the other day. Van started shaking on my way home from work. Went directly to their shop & left vehicle. Was expecting transmission issues (the worse) but they re diagnosed & fixed the issue & it was ready by the end of the next day. So happy to have good mechanics to help care for my only vehicle. .
