Would give a lower rating if possible. Bought a 2009 Volvo C30 from Barry's in late June, and to date (late October) the car has over $10,000 in work just to keep it on the road. 4 days after buying the car from "transmission specialists", the transmission blew up. Upon confronting them with this information on the phone, they blamed ME for it blowing up. Bringing it to a mechanic, it turns out the wrong axle was on the car leaking all of the fluid out and blowing up the transmission. Somehow, the all-knowing transmission experts at Barry's didn't find this. It was sold to me with a fresh inspection, a non functional parking brake, broken AC, broken speakers, almost nonexistent rear brakes, borderline un-inspectable rust on the "pristine" undercarriage they wouldn't give me pictures of, and a host of other issues they failed to disclose. The failing parking brake caused the car to roll into the woods and break a lot of other stuff. So far the car has needed a new clutch, new transmission, new turbo, new brakes (pads, rotors, calipers), new tires, new coolant hoses, a tire balance, a trailing arm in the suspension, a new mirror, an alignment, sunroof seals (the car would fill with water when it rained), and a host of other issues I've failed to list here. I have driven the car conservatively and put only ~3,000 miles on it. There are still more issues in the car that have to be fixed. Barry's has been extremely rude, condescending and unhelpful throughout the entire process and has completely denied any responsibility. Although the car was used and sold "as is", I was consistently lied to about the quality and health of the car, and was sold a freshly inspected car that is unlikely to pass an inspection under any other circumstances. I have bought a number of used cars and have NEVER had an experience even close to as poor as I have had at Barry's automotive. It's unreal to me that they are still in business. Avoid this place at all costs, they sell lemons for a quick profit and hide behind the "sold as is" policy on used car sales to deny any responsibility. By far the worst experience I or the rest of my family has ever experienced with any dealership or shop.

Barry's charged me one thousand dollars for parts they actually didn't even replace. Terrible attitude, customer service is like being poisoned. No, wouldn't forget who ripped me off. I'm sure it's difficult for you to remember which person you took advantage of so I will contact to clarify.

We were on a family RV trip a few months ago when we ran into the unexpected and the RV broke down... We found Barry's online and from the initial phone call they were nothing but helpful! They stayed open late to greet us (and the tow truck)! They had power and water for us to hook up to and let us spend the night in their lot! On top of that they let us use one of their cars to get around town that evening. The next morning they had us up and running in no time! It was a rather simple repair and they wouldn't accept any payment from us. 800 miles from home and we felt like we were with family! A great place with great people and we would highly recommend Barry's to anyone! Our family is forever grateful!

I called them and was able to get my car in the next day, they let me know within an hour or so that I had to replace my clutch. They ordered the part & gave me an estimate the next day and I was able to get it back the day after! It wasn't cheap, but knowing that it was getting fixed by folks who really know transmission issues was worth the price!! Friendly & knowledgeable people made an unhappy repair far more enjoyable. I didn't even think twice about calling them, as they have been THE name in transmission repair for as long as I can remember. I wouldn't hesitate to refer them or to go again when in need. Great Service. Barry's Automotive will do what is needed to to get your Transmission Repaired and get u on your way. My vehicle a 2004 Lincoln ls was having hard shift issues. my transmission is one of the infamous ford 5R5S 5 speed automatic. very difficult transmission to work on. I am glad to say i just picked up the vehicle from the professionals at Barry's The trans was fully rebuilt and it works great now. Thanks. i would highly recommend Barry's for any transmission work u may need. Thanks. My total bill for the transmission rebuild was about $2,900 Not a bad price at all..

Went to Barry s as a result of a recommendation from one of my customers. I was in town working as a contractor and my UV Joint went out on my truck. Barry not only fixed my vehicle but his rate was very reasonable. I was very hesitant because I m use to fixing my own, but I have no regrets going to this business. I will be recommending Barry s to all my techs.

I purchased a Jeep Rubicon from Dave last month. The vehicle was as advertised and in great condition. The team made it simple and easy. Had an o2 sensor go the following day, Dave had it replaced at no charge. My experience has been fantastic and I have no problem recommending them. Save yourself time and energy and stop here first.

I take all of my company vehicles to Barrys - They are always a pleasure to deal with. Very knowledgeable staff, never had any problems. They always get us in quickly and ensure we're well taken care of. Highly recommended.

This was the best experience I have had with buying a vehicle in my life. They worked with our trade to give us the best possible deal they could. When there was a paperwork problem they ate the cost and in essence lowered our payment. The 2005 van that I bought had an issue with the A/C and sliding side door they fixed it with no questions asked and they are working great right now. They have taken care of all the issues with the vehicle, and I could not be happier. The professionalism, and quality service, and knowlegeable sales staff is the best I have ever met. I will never use a dealership ever again. I will only buy quality used cars, and when I am in the market for another one I will use Barry's Auto Sales.

This is the first time I've ever reviewed anything on Google. Due to the treatment on the phone I feel strongly enough to do so, with that said, you may have a totally different experience.Friday I inquired about a vehicle and received an email with a few questions from a member of Barry's team. I responded twice with no answer. Today, Monday 2-3-19, I called and asked to speak with the individual who previously emailed me. The phone call goes as follows:Me: "Hi may I speak to H****?"Male worker at Barry's: "She's not here" click.Call backSame male worker: "Barry's"Me: "Yes, I believe we've been disconnected is there anyone else I can speak with?"Barry's worker: "WHAT DO YOU NEED?" Click...Call back no answer.Maybe I wasn't clear enough or didn't speak slack-jawed yokel well enough?Again your experience may be different but be warned. I've found plenty of, well, I found that EVERY dealership has been more professional in the Burlington area.

I brought my 2013 pathfinder to Barry's and not only was I treated with the up most respect this is bye far one of the best place for transmission to be fixed . They not only beat the local and national companies for price they have an knowledge staff who went to great lengths to explain the problem to us and what to due I highly recommend them don't go any were else or your going to be sorry. Made an appointment for Monday to have my car looked at. Dropped it off an borrowed a friends car. However, they didn t examine it on Monday or even Tuesday. They waited until Wednesday to finally look over my car. When I pressed them on why it took so long they made it seem like it s standard to go without your car for days before it gets examined. Even though the appointment was for Monday. On top of that when they eventually looked over my car they quoted me a price $500 more than what I have now been quoted at a different shop. Do not waste your time here.

I took an old car to have the transmission checked. They worked on the car checking it, driving it, several times during the day. Turns out that the car was fine. They charged us nothing! This is the fourth time in 25 years we've gone here and I'd recommend them to everyone. Very skilled and very honest.

Dave is the Man!Back in June'20, I had the opportunity to buy a nice motorcycle from them.Dave was the person that helped me to complete the transaction - He was not only fair, transparent, and honest when he was answering all my questions but also by going "Above and Beyond" when I had a simple "problem" with the bike.He went to my house to pick up the bike, evaluated the "problem" and put me back on the road in an effective wayToday I connected with him to discuss a really interesting topic: to "Winterize" my motorcycle, again he provided enough and simple answers to my concerns that allow me to realize it was a great decision to make business with Dave. - can't wait to do more business with himBTW- if you are riding a "real" bike, don't forget to load gas to your bikes!

The no-haggle pricing made it easy and honest. I got the best possible trade in value for my well-loved and maintained vehicle; higher than anywhere else had offered. I went to Barry's for some work on my subaru. I found them to be really affordable and they did a fantastic job. I will absolutely use them for future automotive needs and would recommend them.

Took My 07 rav 4 to the dealer because of swaying and noise while driving. Dealer said it was struts so we put new struts on. It didn't make a difference. Took it to Barry's they looked at it and found a bad rear control arm which was a recall that was repaired by toyota. They called toyota and tried to get them to cover it under recall but the dealer told them they only replace it once and that they would have to by a new one. The guy at the counter at Barry's went way out of his way dealing with toyota to get them to cover the part but they wouldn't. Needless to say Barry's changed the part and had the rav4 aligned. OMG!!! what a difference, the car rides great now and feels safe again!!!! Thank your Barry's !!!

After taking my Jeep Cherokee to a number of mechanics, Barry's Automotive solved my transmission problem. The work is solid and the price was competitive. I'm now a fan of Barry's.

Barry's did an amazing job under coating my f250 and they also did an amazing job repainting my rockers. Took care of it like it was their own. Highly recommend.

We were going to purchase a car from a dealership and we had to wait a few weeks due to personal reasons, by the time we could buy it he had sold it to Barry's automotive who was selling it for almost double the price. When we told him we knew where he got the car and what he paid and asked him to come down a small amount compared to Profit he would still make (trying to make almost 3500 off of a car he paid 4500 for) He laughed in my face and said and I quote "its not my fault I got a good deal and you missed out on it". Stay away from the salesman with the long grey hair, he is not a personable guy he is not kind and I have no idea how he got this job, he was unbelievably rude.

Share reviewEmbed review9/18/2020I have lived in The Burlington my whole life and have used various mechanics and thought they were just fine .. but I wish that I found Barry"s automotive earlier! Holly at the front desk could not be nicer and her customer service is top notch! I have an older car that needed some emergency repair work and they fit me in.. Not only did they fit me in but they got it done earlier than I had expected for a price that was more than fair.. They are my go to mechanics from now on and I will be referring all of my friends!

Free diagnosis for a transmission issue and the work itself was done well, however, I can't recommend this shop to others based on the uncomfortable and inappropriate pickup.

You need something fixed on your car, truck, van, suv? Yeah we do that! Need to buy a vehicle? Yeah we do that! Need your transmission fixed? Of course we're still the best at that!

Do not shop Barry's all you receive is harrasment over nothing they don't Honor services and it's all smoke and mirrors! Over priced cars don't recommend!
