People that give their full attention to you even with a small purchase. They are patient, friendly, and knowledgeable. The floor models, showroom and outdoor display are stunning.

The owner pushed for me to purchase a stove too large for my home to make more money without regards to what would actually work for my home. When I did the research and found out the smaller model would be more efficient for the layout of my home he tried to charge me triple the shipping cost and over 1k in a "restocking" fee for the other model despite having told me with confidence he could easily sell the unit. This while he also bragged to me about his high end clientele and trying to overcharge me out of a grant Efficiency Vermont awarded me because I'm low income and suffered from the flooding in July of last year. There is no way he would be shipping the stove back to the manufacturer. He is trying to double dip by keeping the unit and charging the next customer for shipping as well. It's bad business practice, dishonest and just shady to try to take advantage of low income people trying to supplement the high cost of oil with wood heat.

Tom came out to assess the job in May. Said it would be an August installation and they would send quote. After awhile when the quote never came, I gave them a call. He had written down my email incorrectly and thus I did not receive the quote. Took him another couple of weeks to send quote (again only after my follow up). When I said let s do it, their response is that I should have bought and paid for my fireplace back in May? What?! Apparently other folks have paid for theirs and so now I am told it will be another two months . The could not care less about you but give us your money attitude of this business is incredibly off putting.

It was easy to work with Rutland Stove and Fireplace. I was referred to them by the HEAT Squad EPA stove program. They warned me when I started the process that there were a lot of people participating in the program so it could be a couple months before they got to installing my stove. A month earlier than quoted I had my stove installed. The stove arrived damaged but usable. When the repair parts arrived they let me know and quickly fixed the damage. HEAT Squad and Rutland Stove handled the discount program details and I was billed after HEAT Squad paid their portion of the bill. The timing couldn't have been better for getting my stove installed as I use it as my primary heat source.

Called three times and left a message. Fourth call, got somebody, and we made an appointment to have a site assessment. We were ready to buy. No show for the appointment. Drove down there to talk to somebody directly. Waited for 10 minutes while the guy chatted with his friend. Appeared annoyed that I was there. Expressed concern that I wouldn't want to pay for a stainless liner. Weird. Set up another appointment. Second no show. I don't get it.

Top notch customer service. Amazing wood stove insert, super happy..this insert gets our house so warm and just changed our whole living experience. We are thrilled with how professional and quick the install was performed. They were knowledgeable, made recommendations and followed up. We hadn't used our fireplace because it was pretty but smoked and didn't add heat to the house, actually the house felt colder. Now we look forward to starting up the wood stove!! Thank you guys!!

We were assigned to Rutland Stove through the woodstove replacement program through the EPA. I was not aware of their business before. The new, technical woodstove is such a nice change from the old, cheap woodstove we had. The auto fan on top works so well in moving the warm air to the next room. After it was installed we had a part that needed tightening and it was fixed with one phone call to the office. Great advice and great service. I appreciate the new stove and his recommendation. Satisfied customer.
