We were referred to Brook Field by Kohler to install a new Kohler generator. Team was knowledgable, professional, and detailed. There was a lot of special work needed due to our location. They stayed with the project and sorted out details, including working with our propane service. Very friendly and helpful, too.

A Kohler propane generator Brookfield installed 2 years ago had a carburetor issue at our off-grid house over the weekend. Their answering service had me in touch with the owner within an hour on a Sunday, and he helped me troubleshoot over the phone. When I couldn't make repairs myself, Carol (pleasant and professional service manager) had a technician (Lee) on site by 10am Monday and he did a great job educating me and getting the unit running smoothly with minimal fuss. Really appreciate their responsiveness and quick service. While I was initially bummed about a new generator having issues, it was a minor issue of tightening some loose bolts and recalibrating the carb. I would recommend them for new installs and service.

Eric the technician was diligent in the performance of his work. Please thank Eric for his outstanding service. Eric displayed great professionalism and understanding of the repair that was needed on our generator. We thank Brook Field for their outstanding service to rectify our quandary. Avoid this company. I had them out to perform a routine maintenance on my generator (quoted at ~375). Received a bill a week later for $700 with $190 of travel/milage charges and the service hadn't even been completed (travel charges were never discussed either). They replaced the battery (which I green-lit) and other (mystery) tasks for 3 hours and charged me for it. Now I still don't have a serviced generator and a bill 2x what I expected for the initial service. Customer service acknowledged my frustration but offered absolutely nothing to retain me as a customer, even after stating I would no longer be willing to work with the company which I had intended to start an ongoing relation with. Now I have to scramble to find someone honest to take care of the work that should have been completed, which I'm sure will be no easy task this time of year. Thanks for nothing.

Everyone at Brookfield Service just plain rocks. I have been a service customer for several years and they have never let me down. They are lovely people to deal with, from reception to customer service to technicians. They are all knowledgeable, accommodating, responsible, reliable, friendly, and they ALWAYS get the job done and done well. I feel so lucky to have found them!

BUYER BEWARE: I called Brookfield Service to schedule a general service before winter. Oil change, fuel filter change and test the battery. The service took an hour and the technician was efficient and friendly. I then received a bill of $435. No itemization, just a flat fee. I didn't think to ask the cost beforehand because I knew the hourly rate, and I knew the cost of materials. This bill was easily twice what it should have been. When I contacted the office to inquire I was told "the bill stands". When I followed up with the owner, I had to wait for weeks for a reply, only to receive another rude and curt "no". Terrible customer service. Shame on you for taking advantage of homeowners.

Awesome service technician. He really knew his stuff. Fixed the generator very quickly, answered all my questions (I'm a mechanical engineer so I had a lot of questions), and took the time to educate me about the proper maintenance for the 12KwRES. I only wish I received the same level of competence in all other areas where I require technical assistance.I only gave 4 out of 5 stars because I do not think it is appropriate for me to be charged travel time from the previous customer's geographical location. In my case it was an "additional" charge of $115. It is not within my control where the previous customer is located, and I am left wondering why I should have to pay for that. Understand that is not in the control of the technician, rather it is a main office policy.I also believe that the 1 star rating is neither fair, nor appropriate. But, everybody has an opinion....

I called to have my Vermont house generator repaired and subsequently received a bill that included travel (mileage) plus their regular hourly rate for that travel time - all without informing me about of that practice when I called. If I were made aware of that practice, I would not have hired this company. In fact, after this company originally installed the electric panel for the generator at least 10 years ago, they neglected to add a surge protector (from lightning strikes) which eventually caused the panel to fry. They came to replace the panel and it happened again shortly after. Finally a surge protector was installed. I should have known better to call them again. Now I will remember - especially after calling to complain and appeal my bill where I received a curt and business-like reply of NO.Hmm...

Flakes. I wanted to buy a Kohler generator. I contacted Kohler and this business is the one they forwarded to me. Jim from Brookfield came out to view the site, arrived an hour late (I think he decided to make a service call in Claremont first), took some notes, said he'd get back to me, and I never heard from him or Brookfield again. I bought elsewhere.

Amazing customer service! Kylee, sweet and friendly as hell. They service all our generators for years! I have to believe the one star is a competing company or disgruntled employee! Because these guys are the people you want if you want it done right.....PERIOD!Trust me, they are well trainedNothing but great thinks to say and I have no affiliation with them, except being a customer

Had a rep. come and do a complete evaluation for a generator installationthe first part of June. I was told I would be getting a complete itemisationfor an estimate within a week. It is now the end of July and no estimate.Time to look elsewhere.
