We have had the pleasure of staying at the Barnstead Inn twice so far, and are already counting down the days until our next stay. We got married at the Barnstead Inn in September 2023 and had our closest friends and family members stay on-site with us. Every single room is expertly decorated and designed, and the common spaces and grounds are cozy and inviting. The staff will make you feel like family from the second you arrive. Do not miss breakfast during your stay - it is well worth it!

I stayed at this location for a weekend. I enjoyed the warm reception. The room was very comfortable and clean. The bed big and comfortable. I snowboarded all day and slept so well and breakfast was delicious. The drive home couldn t be long enough.Thank you for the great experience, also for shipping my 3 way mirror which has become essential for me. The mirror was well packaged and arrived safely.I am very grateful to you all.

We have been coming to this area for the past 22 years, generally for New Year's but also in the summer and fall. Unfortunately, our traditional spot closed and so we have been searching for the ideal place. Barnstead had the potential, BUT (1) their breakfast was the least impressive - including self serve coffee; (2) they are 50% - 100% higher in price for the rooms and for their bar food and drinks than other inns; and, most importantly (3) other inns give you a feeling of welcome and warmth, but the Barnstead Inn treats you like a transaction. We canceled our reservation for next New Year's, literally a whole year in advance, and they charged us a $50 cancellation fee.You won't necessarily be sorry if you stay here, but you will enjoy the experience more at other inns in the area.

This past weekend me and my fianc had an excellent time here at the Barnstead Inn. Everyone was so nice and friendly, they were so accommodating. The food was excellent and the vibes are just homey and welcoming. I couldn't recommend a better place to stay at. Each day the breakfast got better and better! We were so impressed with everything (ESPECIALLY the french toast!) We definitely want to go back soon! It was so sad when it ended! Thanks so much to everyone at the Barnstead Inn!

I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at the Barnstead Inn recently, and I can't say enough about what a fantastic experience it was! From the beginning of the day to the very end, everything was simply amazing. The location is ideal, with impeccable craftsmanship and breathtaking design both in the buildings and the surrounding landscape.Meg and Andrea were an absolute dream to work with. Their attention to detail and commitment to ensuring a seamless wedding day made the entire process a joy. If you're in search of a wedding venue in Vermont or New England, I highly recommend putting the Barnstead Inn at the very top of your list.

What a fantastic place to stay. Unfortunately we only stayed for 2 nights but we will certainly return. When you think of Vermont this is the charm that you imagine. We went up for a last minute ski getaway and found this amazing location. Less than 20 minutes from Bromley and about 30 from Stratton. The room was so charming and the staff was amazing. Family run and so friendly. We were greeted by King as we pulled in and the people were just as friendly as the four legged Inn Keepers. Food was fantastic and so were the drinks. A fantastic little tavern on premises. Thank you for a great getaway. We will be back.

We had our wedding there in September 2023 and Meg, Andrea and all of their staff did such an amazing job making it such a memorable event. They did such a great job of working with the vendors as well setting up and managing things on site. The venue also has really good breakfast and would be a great place to go to get away and stay for a weekend away or to go skiing or snowboarding in the mountains a little bit away from there.

From the first phone call Andrea couldn't have been more helpful. Originally from the Chicago area it was easy for us to connect. This was a special trip for us, I was intending to propose at some point. After falling in love with Barnstead online and booking, I called Andrea to see if an assist would be possible with photography. Not only did Andrea pull through with a reliable photographer, the photos turned out wonderfully.Barnstead Inn feels like a community and the service reflects this. At least 2 couples staying were from Vermont, they just love it. Easy to see why. Grounds are immaculate and it's very relaxing. Quick walk to downtown. The experience was very memorable.Quick shout out to Sara & Andreas sister as well (who I realize I failed to get the name of)! Everyone really pulled out the stops and made us feel welcome.Would recommend to anyone.

Stayed here presidents weekend! Everything was absolutely perfect, the farmhouse was immaculate and our room (winter room) was cozy and extremely clean! We are both so picky with beds, and thought the bed was super comfortable! Loved the main barn with breakfast each morning which was delicious, and it was awesome to be able to hang in the tavern at night for a drink / food with great people and inn employees. A short walk from the main town center, we were able to walk to dinner most nights which we always love doing. I usually like to try different places when I travel but next time I am back in the Manchester / Stratton area I already know where I m staying, no need to look anywhere else! Such a fun time and HIGHLY recommend!

My sister and my 2 daughters just returned from a weekend away at the Barnstead Inn.It was absolutely perfect in every way. We were greeted by the wonderful furry innkeepers, King and Lucky! They couldn t have been sweeter. Our rooms were in the Cowbarn which is so beautifully decorated with that modern but rustic farmhouse feel. Everything you could need or want is right there. They were very clean and beautiful. There were fire pits right outside our door on the patio and although we weren t able to sit and enjoy them, they make it feel so warm and inviting.Everyone couldn t have been nicer to us. They truly make you feel welcomed and are very easy to talk to. The breakfast each morning was delicious and Sarah was great in the evening to make wonderful drinks and appetizers as we sat around and got to know the kids, Peyton and Pierce. So friendly and sweet. The Inn and all of the grounds were so beautifully decorated with Christmas lights and decor which made it feel so beautiful this time of year. This trip was a getaway planned for my sister who has been dealing with health issues the past couple of years. We wanted to give her an experience that she would love and remember for a long time and The Barnstead Inn provided that and more!Thank you so much to Andrea and Pete. You truly have an amazing property that you take pride in and provide such a wonderful experience to your guests. Thank you Sarah for your hospitality at the tavern and the great cocktails you make! You were so sweet even when we showed up at closing time and asked you to make us one last cocktail. Thank you Pierce and Payton for sitting and chatting with us when we arrived. You were very cute and we loved talking to you. To King and Lucky who sat with us and made us smile for 2 days and allowed us to give them hugs whenever we felt like it. We won t forget our 1st time at the Barnstead Inn. I am already looking forward to our next trip back. Manchester VT is a beautiful town with lots to see and do. We can t wait to come back!

I loved my stay. I was here for 2 nights and everything was perfect. The rooms are unique and all oversized, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast is included and excellent; eggs Benedict one morning and blueberry cream cheese stuffed French toast the next. The fire pits were lit and a nice way to meet fellow guests every evening, with drinks and food delivered to our lounge chairs. Beautiful gardens and location.

The Barnstead Inn is a gorgeous, immaculately kept and stunning inn with rustic farmhouse charm. The grounds are breathtaking, the rooms and suites beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches, and the innkeepers, Andrea and Pete, make you feel like family as soon as you arrive. The breakfasts are incredible, with generous portions and local farm to table flavors. The inn offers so much, from the excellent location steps from downtown, to the cozy fire pits, the relaxing and comfy chairs, the refreshing pool, Saturday brick oven pizza nights in season, the on site tavern with amazing small bites and unique drinks, and the two most adorable and friendly dogs you will ever meet! We have stayed here the past two summers and have a fall leaf peepers trip planned for this year as well. Special shout out to Alice, Chelsea, Sarah, and Meg for absolutely everything from morning breakfast service to housekeeping to evening drinks and smiles, and to Uncle Joe for the best coffee ever! This is a one of a kind very special place we will return to again and again.

We had a fantastic stay. We rented the Hildene suite during Christmas weekend. It was magical. The host was so friendly and attentive. The breakfast every day was excellent. It s right in Manchester so it s close to shops, restaurants and ski mountains. We ate dinner one night in the tavern and it was by far our best meal in Vermont.

I just stayed at the inn with my 84 year-old mother and my 25 year-old daughter and we fell in love with the beauty and charm of the whole property. The rooms were clean and bright with comfy beds and bedding (we loved the modern farm decor too) the home made breakfasts were absolutely delicious, we loved the sweet dogs and everybody that worked there were so warm and friendly. Even in November it was absolutely perfect. We can t wait to go back!

The Barnstead Inn is absolutely fabulous! My sister and I just wrapped our very first visit to Vermont and staying at the Barnstead Inn made the trip one to remember! The staff is just amazing and so intentional. The Arlington Room was perfect, and the outdoor fireplaces paired with a Vermont Flannel Co. blanket was oh so cozy in the evening. The breakfast was AMAZING and was served alongside some of the best coffee I have ever had. The the furry innkeepers (King & Lucky) were friendly faces ready to greet you at every turn which was so fun. Barnstead team, thank you for everything and keep up the amazing work! This place is truly special. The Massey family will most certainly be back!

We stayed at the Barnstead Inn for a girls weekend in August 2021. It was incredible, probably my best Bed & Breakfast experience ever. Our room (the Dorset Room) was immaculately clean, the decor and bathroom were gorgeous. There was always coffee available and morning breakfast was amazing. Pop up food vendor on some evenings was great. Also loved the tavern and being able to get a drink by the fire in the evening. It was an easy walk to downtown. The owners were friendly and welcoming. I'm planning to come back for a weekend with my husband soon!

We loved staying at the Barnstead Inn! Our room was beautifully decorated with a modern lodge feel and the bedding was very comfy. We also enjoyed drinks and light bites from the tavern around the cozy fire pit in the evenings. The grounds and heated pool were amazing. The great hiking nearby and the short walk to town make this place a perfect weekend getaway.

My fianc and I absolutely loved this place! It was probably my favorite place I ve ever stayed. It was so cute and the owners were so incredibly nice and welcoming! We had car troubles on our way there and the owners were kind enough to stay up until 11 to check us in and show us to our room. The building with the bar and breakfast room was so cozy and my fianc and I had such a nice time sitting by the fire with our books and cocktails from the bar. It was also in walking distance to the town which was great. The inn was so beautiful in winter and I m sure it d be gorgeous in any other season so we definitely plan on coming back!

Edit below ..My husband and I stayed at the Barnstead Inn this past weekend and I ve never been happier with our decision to do so! Andrea, Pete and Meg are by far the nicest people that I ve ever met. Not only would I recommend this Inn to friends and family, we ve already booked our next stay for October! The atmosphere, food, rooms and convenient location to the center are the best! There are two beautiful pups on the property too that are the sweetest! If I could give them more than five stars, I definitely would!!EDIT TO MY FIRST REVIEW### My husband and I went back to the Barnstead Inn this past weekend with family and friends and it s definitely not the same as it was in January. The Inn itself is beautiful and the work that has been put into it is amazing! The feeling of being welcomed is no longer there. We felt more like a bother rather than a guest. Unfortunately, we will not be going back nor will I recommend it to my friends or family.

We've been visiting Manchester for years and were happy at the Kimpton, but I'm so glad we made the switch this year to Barnstead Inn. Perfectly placed for skiing in Stratton and a gentle walk to town each afternoon before drinks and dinner. It has a family-run feel (because it is!) and they also take great care in the quality of food and drink. Great new rooms. Fabulous atmosphere. Excellent hospitality all round! thank you

This was our second time staying at the Barnstead and we loved it just as much as the first time! It had sort of become our favorite go-to when my husband and I can get a night or two away from our kids and just spend time together. The accommodations are excellent, incredibly clean and comfortable. The entire staff is friendly and helpful and make you feel like it is your home away from home. I noticed that this time, all the guests staying this particular weekend ended up sort of bonding and were happy to hang out in the tavern or out at the fire pits chatting and relaxing. The location is also so perfect. Great for walking right into town for meals or shopping. That being said, the breakfast is always EXCELLENT. Such a wonderful place to go relax. I literally cannot wait to go back.

What a great place. The rustic decor is perfectly designed. Our room was perfect, extremely clean, perfect layout at ground level. Complementary breakfast was awesome, cooked just right by Allison. At night you can sit by the outdoor fires or enjoy a dinner, lite bite or cocktail inside at the bar. Everyone is friendly and accommodating. Andrea and Peter are great, and run a top notch Inn. Definitely a place to stay.

My friend and I stayed here recently while we were in Vermont for a wedding and I can't say nicer things about it. The owners were warm and welcoming and went above and beyond for us. The rooms were beautifully decorated and had all the amenities we needed and the breakfast each morning was delicious. We spent more time relaxing at the pool and getting drinks at the inn than we did exploring the town, and I have no complaints about that! We will definitely be making this an annual trip.

I went here with my boyfriend last weekend and it was the best little trip. The town was so cute. So many amazing places to eat and the views were amazing. The barnstead inn was the best place to stay. The homemade breakfast was phenomenal and I am a picky eater so that says a lot. It was such a homey and modern place to stay and have such great staff. We are definitely staying here again.

Just had a fantastic stay at The Barnstead Inn. Andrea and Pete (and King!) were great hosts with excellent service and well-deserved pride in their inn and the area. Our accommodations, we stayed in The Hildene Suite, was spectacular: cozy king bed, beautiful soaking tub next to the fireplace, awesome two-person shower with multiple shower heads and a pebble base. Everything was New England charming but in this case, modern and well thought-out. Additionally, the food (breakfast included), drink (bar on the premises), and other amenities were all five star. Highly recommended.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The family is wonderful and so accommodating. We didn t want to check-out this morning. It was a perfect, relaxing getaway from NYC. Will most definitely be back!Rooms are so cute, food & drinks onsite are great and the cozy environment (fireplaces, music, blankets) made for the best reading/visiting spots. You can easily walk to serval local spots, too. Can t recommend this place enough!
