I don t normally do these types of posts but I am so unbelievably defeated and disappointed in this Midas establishment, specifically about being lied to my face from a place I thought I could trust.I called to schedule an alignment because of a recommendation from a closer garage. I have used Midas for service in the past but had determined it would be easier to use a closer (15-20 minute) garage for tires versus the 45 minute drive to Bennington.I decided to schedule the alignment and added on an oil change, inspection, and a tire service because I ironically got a tire pressure warning the day after scheduling my alignment. I dropped my vehicle off and was even able to use a loaner on my Saturday off so I could watch a movie with my son so our trip wasn t just for the car. Upon returning to the shop and checking out, I realized my bill was smaller than I anticipated. They did not charge for the alignment or tire repair (we found a nail in the tire on the way to the shop). I confronted Vern and was told that they didn t do an alignment because I would just need a second alignment once I changed my tires since these tires were no longer good (3rd season of use on studded snows). In addition, Vern told me he didn t charge me for the repaired tire because they were junk . I was upset because I didn t get the alignment I needed, the original reason for my appointment, but thankful they didn t charge me for the plugged tire. Upon getting back to the vehicle, a technician followed and wanted to check my tire because he took lunch break when my car was being worked on. He said he wanted to make sure it was fixed. He said I was good to go.Upon speaking with my boyfriend (diesel mechanic certified) and multiple other people, I was informed a second alignment wouldn t be needed as the tires would not have an effect on the alignment. This is hugely disappointing that I was lied to about why they didn t complete the alignment.Each day after my visit on 3/9, my tire PSI has dropped. After inspecting it this morning (3/15), we found the nail was still in the same spot as where it was originally. No fix had been done, which I was not charged for, so no harm no foul? However, I brought my car to be serviced specifically at a location that I previously trusted, where I was lied to, and half of the services I specifically requested to have done (and the reason I needed the appointment in the first place) were not done. As someone who lives on rural roads and 15-20 minutes away from my nearest tire air pump, I m so disappointed. I ll invest in a good 12v pump because of this endeavor but at this point, I ll no longer bring my business to this Midas station.ETA: I was contacted by the manager, Vern, which I appreciate as he was the one who dealt with me. He offered a resolve which likely would be very fair, but I still just don t feel right about the situation. I ll continue to take my vehicle elsewhere unfortunately.

Very good experience. The staff and owner are very friendly and knowledgeable about the services that they provide. Would have been 5 stars if the prices weren't so much higher than what we were used to (in northeastern CT) before moving back home to VT.Update: the owner is extremely knowledgeable, and the people in the garage do great work and are always courteous. You get what you pay for.

I had a positive experience here, from a quick diagnosis of a brake problem to completed repair about four hours later. Not cheap, but a fairly quick turn around time. Would recommend to others.

We brought our car down for an oil change(the car was NOT SMOKING before this) after it was done and at 3am my girlfriend called me while she was on her lunch saying the whole road behind her was filled with smoke that was coming from the exhaust. We brought it back down and they said we had a blow by leak through the turbo. Then they told us that we would have to go through a dealership to have that replaced because they don't deal with that at Midas. So we brought it else where and had it done, it cost us a little over 2,500$ to replace the turbo. We have all the receipts from Midas from all the work they did before that happened. The owner did help by charging us 400$ (original 800$) for the few things that did need to be replaced but what gets me is Midas wouldn't own up to breaking the turbo. All this happened a before Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Bennington Midas has a great staff who know what they are doing and take the time to explain everything. Had an emergency and got the car to them at closing. They drove my daughter home. Kept me informed the next day, got the repairs done and stayed late for us to pick it up.

Vern and his team at Bennington VT Midas have been nothing but absolutely wonderful every time I have had to bring my car in for work. They always have the job done sooner than expected and I am always given great information tgat is easy to understand regarding my vehicles condition as well as options for how to proceed that always have my financial situation in mind. They are always friendly and fast and have been my main go to mechanic after trying several other locations in town. And any time Vern and his team hasn't been able to accomodate a need of mine, he has always referred me to someone he trusts to get the job done right. The best !

Verne at the front desk is the man. He always goes above and beyond to make sure that the costumer is taken care of and happy. The work has always been done properly and Verne always lets you know what needs to be done and what might need to be done soon and always checks to make sure that you want the work done. I got an oil change here and it was for a fair price and a fair weight time. I appreciate that you could make appointments online and there was a clean waiting area to sit and wait while your car is being serviced. Staff was kind and followed up afterwords to ensure I was happy with the service. I will be a returning customer.

Always a great visit to Midas in Bennington. Very friendly ,caring, yet also very professional. Vern and Kris do a great job making sure your your vehicle is getting the best service available. The mechanics always show you and explain what the problem is with your vehicle, what options you may have for repairs, costs, and never start the repairs without your ok to do so. I always take all our family vehicles to Midus in Bennington. Just picked my SUV up from Vern @ Midas in Bennington. He was very knowledgeable and super helpful with diagnosing some issues and the prices are unbeatable. I will definitely be back. Pulled in on our vacation because our Durango was overheating pulling the hills with a trailer on A SATURDAY. They were booked solid for the day but pulled a mechanic off of a job to diagnose our problem which they accomplished in 30 minutes. Got us out the door in just over a hour. SAVED OUR VACATION I would give this business 10 stars. Thank you for your superior customer service

Absolutely incredible service. I have never been to a mechanic that actually cares about not making you pay for something you don't need. I have taken my car there several times expecting to spend more, but they always help me save money while ensuring my vehicle is safe to drive. They even offered a loaner car to me if I needed it. I would give 10 stars out of 5 if I could. Best service in town. (and the best I have ever received in Vermont)

My go-to when I need something done to my truck. The local shops often have 3-4 week waits while I can almost always get in within a week at Midas. The staff is super friendly and Vern is very honest about what needs to be done and why. They even provided me a loaner when the new A/C condenser was bad and needed to wait another day for a new one. I didn't even know Midas had loaners so that was very nice of them. I will definitely be continuing to be a repeat customer there.

3pm on a Saturday every light in my dash lit up and my car overheated about a half mile away. I pulled in and expected to have to leave it. Not only did they get me in immediately, they were able to fix my car, showed me the broken part, and advised on next steps for a permanent fix. I could not be happier with the service they performed, and the customer service was the best I've ever experienced at an auto shop. I even received a follow up call that night. I'll definitely be bringing my car back here for future maintenance.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I needed to get my serpentine belt replaced, and fast. I rely a lot on my vehicle for work and was worried I'd have to miss time, seeing as everywhere I called seemed to booked for days. Midas was able to get me in first thing the next morning. I was in and out in under 2 hours and didn't miss a minute of work. I'd highly recommend this Midas if you're in need of maintenance. Facility was clean, staff was helpful, and pricing was very fair. I know I'll be back in the future. Thanks again!!Service: Oil change

I brought my car here for a state inspection, first experience with this Midas location.The waiting area was clean and comfortable.The staff was friendly and attentive.Making an appointment online was easy.They were quick, bringing my car in shortly after the appointment time.Their pricing is reasonable, and they have coupons online.Their location is easy to find, with plenty of parking.My car passed the inspection, but they also told me about some work I might want to do in a few months for preventative maintenance.Thank you!

If you are in need of a mechanic I highly recommend the Midas shops to anyone living in the Bennington VT, as well as Keene NH area. Verne owns these shops and is a tremendous business owner that knows his stuff and works with each customer as if they are special and important and of course with all his work you get a national midas warranty that ensures your mechanical problem is fixed. Thank you Verne for being such a great man to do business with.

I have been a customer of this Midas for years and have had them help me with a huge variety of repairs for my car -- I can honestly say that their team not only shows their expertise with every visit, but goes above and beyond to bring the best customer service, attentiveness, and transparency to every mechanical curveball or basic repair we've encountered. Vern and his crew are fabulous! More than once they have squeezed me in while I've been in town visiting, and other times I am sure to make an appointment if I know I'll be in need of servicing. They're dedicated and honest about the work they offer/perform. If you haven't used them you're missing out on one of the best.

Walked in at 745 am for a last min oil change and licinse plate bulbs replacement. Quick n easy. Very happy was about to drive to mass or NY, midas will be my selection in Bennington VT for now on. I was initially disappointed after an oil change because my dipstick showed overfilling by about 1guart. When I called back they got me right in, fixed the problem, and did a very thorough inspection, which they allowed me to watch from just outside the garage. They checked and filled other fluid levels and explained everything as they worked. They even checked my rear differential level! The mechanic, DJ, was very professional and kind. I felt very good about the care of my Seina van

I can't say enough about how great the service was, I called in at 10:30 a.m. on a Monday and told them I had broken down out of town and that the alternator needed replaced. I had the tools to do it myself but I couldn't get to the tensioner pulley, so I had my car towed over to Midas in about eleven-thirty a.m., I told them that I wanted the car to be done as quickly as possible because if it wasn't done that day I would have to pay for another night at a hotel. By 2:30 the car was done. I already purchased the parts so I was only charged labor. they didn't take advantage of the fact that I was out of town or try to price gouge me. Thank YouService: Battery
