When I was an E-2 at Pope AFB years ago, There was a shop outside the main gate, littered with decaying bugs and buses. It was run by an old (to me) mechanic that was a bit abrasive whom you never dared ask when your car would be done. He seemed to run off of camels and coffee and always had 12 projects going. If he liked you, you would sometimes get a gruff sentence "Your missing a headlight ring, you maybe could find one out there" (nodding to the yard of rusting cars without looking up from the workbench). You didn't say anything, didn't even dare thank him, you just got your part. It was never on the bill, which always came in a bit under the estimate. Wayne, not so old to me now, is much nicer than Bob, but he knows VW's inside and out. He does great work, keeps you updated along the way. Took in a 1967 bug, my first VW in 23 years and he fabricated a part for the air cleaner that helped it draw in colder air. You wont find that part in any catalog, but it cured my problem and I can say that I am one of the few bugs on the road with a Cold Air Intake! Only place I will take my car from now on. Got a hand written receipt too, which is exactly as it should be..... Highly Recommend!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I called Wayne late to leave a message. He answered. He said to bring my vanagon early the next morning. He performed some tests, fixed my problem and we were on our way. He kept us up to date on his progress and the cost the whole way. He was more than reasonable. I can not say enough how great of a mechanic Wayne is. Super nice guy who saved our long distance trip. Called Wayne up in the morning after calling about 7 different shops around salt lake all said NO WE DO NOT WORK ON OLDER VOLKSWAGENS.Called Wayne he said bring it over I can look at it .Brought my 83 rabbit pickup and Wayne did all he could to fix the problem and he did.Great guy. I brought my 1970 VW Bug in a ter a few hundred miles of it driving horribly. They diagnosed the problem right away. They walked me through everything they did and got be back on the road as soon as the parts came it. Wayne and Wolf really did a great job my car has been purring ever since it left the shop. HIGHLY Recommended.

Wayne is the real deal. Old-school VW mechanic and enthusiast who knows his stuff. His shop is a lucky find and there aren't many like him around any more. Would definitely recommend him without hesitation.

On a cross country trip our VW Westfalia broke down (could not use clutch) at rush hour (430 pm) and with the use of a smart phone we realized that Wayne's repair was only 1 mile away. Somehow I managed to hobble to his shop. He was closing the office, but took the time to quickly diagnose the problem (bad clutch). We had three dogs and lots of luggage that he put in his truck and drove to a nearby hotel. 11 am the next day he drove up with the Westfalia all repaired. Thousands of miles later it is driving great. THANK YOU Wayne! Highly recommended.

Had a great experience at Wayne's, very honest and up front with the repairs my Jetta needed to pass the state I/M. He did the work as planned and "BAM" passed with flying colors. Thanks for good honest mechanical work!

After purchasing my Westy in Idaho Falls I returned to Salt Lake and had no gears when I tried to shift, took it in to Wayne's and he diagnosed the problem within minutes, said the part I needed was going to take a couple days to arrive but before we ordered it he looked around his shop and actually found the tiny part I needed in what I can only assume was his "spare parts" bin! It was a part of my linkage that had been stripped out... Was back on the road in less than an hour, THANKS WAYNE!!!

Brought in my 2002 Jetta for a smog check and safety inspection. $280 later still couldn't diagnose why the engine sensor was still on. Left disappointed and a little bit ripped off because i heard Wayne was the best when it came to VW's.

My accelerator cable decided to snap in my '73 Super Beetle. Wayne had me back on the road in just a few minutes. Highly recommended
