Hunter Machine did an awesome job on our racecar engine. We needed a quick turnaround, and they exceeded all expectations. They handled all of the red tape and documentation with our sanctioning body (IMCA) to make sure we stayed compliant. Shawn was great to work with. Everyone in the shop was great to work with.

Great service! I had a cylinder head for a BMW 6 cylinder Diesel engine that needed resurfacing and they did a great job, quickly. Recommend!

The best machine shop in Ut. Thanks to Kyle and Red. They have helped me since the 97 when I rebuild my first motor. They do great work on automotive and industrial engines like the 4 cyl Cummins.

Red is awesome really helpful and nice guy. helped save me thousands by confirming my k20 head wasnt cracked and that it was just casting, port, polished, did a valve job and installed all my parts including my valve guides all for a good reasonable price. definitely going back for my future buildsService: Engine repairService: Engine repair

Where do i start... I had my duramax engine built at hunter machine. Only to have catastrophic failure after failure. The block never got decked the machine work was meh and the reassembly was horrible. They put freeze plugs IN MY WATER JACKETS where they were not supposed to be which overheated the motor 3 times till i figured it out . i had to pull my motor out 3 different times trying to figure this problem out. Once i did i got the engine put all back together only to find a major oil leak that i had to one more time pull my engine out again to find a oil galley plug intalled incorrectly. Once i figured that out i had to repair the leak and put the motor back in the truck. I finished it up and have since driven it About 7000 miles , which i hesitated to drive the truck from fear of the truck breaking down. Only to lose oil pressure and lost all coolant. Where did it go you ask, well it came out another freeze plug that was installed incorrectly. Filling the crankcase with coolant which pressurized the oil enough to blow out the rear main seal. The freeze plug that came out was behind the water pump. The freeze plug got chewed by the timing gear an oil pump ruining both. And so as i sit right now my motor is out of the truck once again unable to drive . which in turn will cost thousands of dollars to fix once again.I WOULD NEVER USE HUNTER MACHINE EVER AGAIN.

Not the only Automotive Machine Shop in town but it is a great one.They get things done in a timely manner while providing excellent customer service. I took in my Audi 2.0 L. Cylinder head to have valve springs installed and it was ready to go the day after.

had a 6.5 done at loves machine and they had it for 9 months and tried charging me for more than what I wanted done. These guys had mine for 1 week only cause I forgot to bring parts for them to get it done. These guys are fast and good. Thanks Hunter Machine

I have only one experience here, but it led me to believe that these guys are truly masters of their craft. I had them clean and recondition some cylinder heads for me, and they did great work at a very reasonable price. I would not hesitate to go there again.

First full engine rebuild I have ever done I did through these guys over the past year. I had no idea what I was doing and every trip I made I was unprepared. But they were patient and helped me along. I waited to write the review until I reached the finish line. Everything checks out and I'm about to drop it into my Chevelle in the coming weeks. Incredibly grateful to these guys and their extensive knowledge of this craft to help me bring this project back to life.

Great place to take your cylinder head to get cleaned/tested/ and resurfaced for a good price. I was happy with my cylinder head and the customer service was on point! Keep it up guys!

I grew up next to Red and was great friends with his oldest son. Great family and great love a racing machining and repair. I knew when they opened their shoo that they would succeed. I am very impressed by the clean organized shop . Very nice! That attention will flow right into your quality and repair.

Hunter machine I was very disappointed paid a lot of money to have my engine rebuilt and i guessed they did all they could brought it back again and they said it was fixed spent over ten grand replaced everything they told me to new hoses new radiator and did not even get 6 thousand miles on rebuild pretty much put me back to square one for about grand could of got a new crate engine when I met him he said I rebuild race car engines this engine will run better than it did brand new shook his hand thought it was good to go very disappointed but hope the best for them guess they tried there best to rebuild it thanks some things I guess can t be fixed

Great work and fast! Had a cylinder head machined due to dropped valve. Work performed was excellent. Car is now back in service with no issues.

Redd and the crew are awesome. I have a repair shop in West Valley and have had at least 200 valve jobs done, only once did we have a problem with a valve and they not only repaired it quickly but paid me to re-remove the head and bought all gasket sets! It is great to have a true machinist that is knowledgeable and fair. Thanks for your hard work guys.

They are awesome. Real price given up front and work done right. The gave great advise, knowledge, and friendly help all free of charge. Their machine work and labor was more than fair. The owner truly cares about his customers. They did the motor in my 69' Chevelle. Because of the owner's superior craftsmanship it was 368 rwhp with old closed chambered heads. THAT IS AMAZING.

I handed the owner a small part. No matter what, there won't be a lot of money made, on this job. Instead of throwing me out, he says, is tomorrow soon enough? Excellent service, great prices and accurate work. My new favorite machine shop.....thank you, especialy considering how small time my work was.

I had a motor lt1 rebuilt done a few years ago and its been only a money pit since then not to mention the hp is 40% significaly less than wat was requested. valves rocker roller fall a part. now apparently a internal noise in the engine spent 6k for this and several k with another shop and never really had a good running Camaro. now maybe just a bad motor....... huge mistake run the other way.

Red knows what he is doing the staff seams very knowledgeable. If you want the job done right bring your engine here! if you just want it done and don't care about quality ,.. don't waste Reds time! He does it one way and only one way... THE RIGHT WAY.

Hmmm. They did a very good job. It's been a few hundred miles on my fresh head. Zero hiccups and I still remember how knowledgable the guy was, ibsay guy because I'm only 70% sure his name was Red; it's been a while. If you want a good shop dont think twice. When I used to work at the local Ford dealership down the street all my coworkers agreed they were the bees knees and shoot we even sent stuff their way to do work for us.

Red Hale has always done fantastic work for me I was looking at his website because I am getting ready to have him machine my next engine. If you need machine work done right the first time I highly recommend Hunter machine

Honest and upfront. Very rare to see a business who will help you. The owner will give you options and ideas to save you money. Never pushing unneed or expensive Services you don't need. They have helped with many of my customers, and my own classic cars.

Took my 4.3L engine in for a rebuild and got a call from Red later on the week that my engine show a tiny cracked on the block and it'll cost me way more to fixed than what is worth! They could've putt it together and make it look new again and charge me and it'll last me a year or so but Hunter Machine was truly honest with me and advise me to other options. I highly recommend Hunter Machine to anyone who knows nothing or pro for any machines work for their engines. Cheers and Thank You Hunter Machine.

These guys are the best! In my opinion for what I needed done they went above and beyond expectations, great friendly staff I'm always very supportive of small businesses, I'll be sure to refer them to my friends that have any machining needs and I'll be back myself when needed in the future!

Did a great job on some Cylinder heads for my customers boat.Red or Bryan are the go to for High Performance or racing builds. And if they have something they know where to get it.

Spent thousands with him last year with two motors, had a problem with the one so I pulled it out of the car and he took care of the issue BUT was an a** about it, tryed charging to work that was covered under warranty AND did not finish assembly as covered under warranty. After discussing amount he told me to just take it but to promise to never come back. NOT THE WAY TO DO BUSINESS. Do it right the first time so you don't waste my time, your money.

There guys are great to work with! I had to find a machine shop outside of Elko Nevada and found them through a Google search. Judging from the pictures of there shop and other reviews, I gave them a call. I found them very knowledgeable and prices were more than reasonable. Furthermore, they could answer all my questions in regards to my engine repair! I recommended Hunter Machine to another friend in Elko. He called and found that they could do the bottom end work to his LS. It will be there soon. Great job guys!
