I paid S&R auto $380 to fix a fuel pump and brakes. Brakes were done. Not the fuel pump. Instead he claims to change fuel regulator that I put in myself! He didn't touch the regulator. In fact the new one was left inside my van to further prove he did not. I had the part tested and it's brand spanking new. I was left to drive and sleep in this vehicle for 2 days waiting for these men to help fix the problem. I almost lost my life in the Flying J parking lot. In the end I get CO2 poisoning from sleeping in the van they were supposed to fix. And I get shipped from Wendover to a Salt Lake City Hospital on an ambulance where I call the owner and tell him to pick up my van and fix the part I paid him for. Later I was released with no ride back to Wendover until the next day at 4 pm. The motel room was a well over a hundred dollars. Plus $100 deposit. So I get back to my van the next day and my van still hasn't been touched. I turn the key and exposed myself to more CO2 and guess what I have nowhere to go but the van. I'm 5 hours away from home on the Idaho Nevada border. No woman should have to fight for her life and pay for it too. I'm reporting this act of negligence to the BBB and the authorities. I have a business to run and I already paid them to fix the fuel pump. They watched me drive off shooting out fuel and leaking oil from the gasket like crazy. I'll post photos....

First time customer and they exceeded my expectations! Had timing belt and water pump replaced. They quoted me significantly less than another mechanic in town. While doing the work they noticed my engine mount was shot. They replaced that as well and only charged me for the part. They got my van back to me QUICK. Omar and His crew ROCK!

I ve seen others say they Wish there was more than 5 stars but 10 stars wouldn t be enough. My family and I broke down on I80 late one night and was stuck in West wendover over night (shout out to state highway patrol for coming to our rescue) but we didn t even have a ride to rent a car. George from S&R helped us out BIG TIME. We rented a car and they worked with us more than other places would ever I am sure. The next day we tried to go fix our car to find out it was hit by a semi and it was the same highway patrolman that picked us up the night before who caught the would be hit and run driver and he also called S&R auto to pick our car up. Very fast and honest service. I am from Ohio visiting family and am blown away by the generosity and honesty of services rendered from all angles.

Peter was fantastic he was so helpful he checked all the fluids and washed my car. Everyone in the office was helpful and did a great job on embordering my boys dog collar. The hotel was clean and nice microwave coffee maker and nice new carpet and very clean. And I can't forget to mention Carlos who gave me a great price on my room for 3 weeks! Thank u so much

I was traveling and stopped in Ely to get gas. When I started my car it sounded like marbles in my engine! Called for a tow and found out it had to come 120 miles! Ken, the tow driver, took me back to the shop in Wendover to meet with Larry, their mechanic. This was on Friday evening. Parts had to come from Salt Lake City. They discussed with the owner, Steve, and figured out how to get parts and got me on the road early afternoon on Saturday. Ken helped us get settled in the hotel and was so kind. This could have turned out differently for me. I believe this is a company of high integrity and great work ethic. I highly recommend S&R Auto of Wendover. They are all gentlemen and have gone above and beyond to make me feel secure. Steve called me a few hours after I left for home to make sure everything was running well. Do not hesitate to contact S&R for any of your auto needs.

My wife and I and our 3 little boys hit a coyote in the middle of the night and blew our radiator. They came and towed us back to town, and then fixed our car in one day so we could get back on the road. They spoke directly with our insurance company so it was all hassle free. They even helped us with a minivan to ride in while they worked on the car. These guys saved the day for getting us safely back on the road!!Service: Engine repair

This shop is amazing helpful, the axle broke off our tool trailer on I-80 . They were there within 20 minutesTo get our trailer. Took it to there shop and did everything to help us get an axle after learning it would be five weeks to get an axle we decided to purchase a new trailer. They helped us unload the tools from the old trailer to the new one. Then the next day we were getting ready to leave to continue our way home noticed the front of the truck was making a noise. Took it to S& R the wheel barring was going out . They fixed it .This shop has great service and the people are very helpfulI highly recommend them . These guys don't talk much but they are extremely honest. I went with a friend to get a slow leak on a tire fixed. They couldn't find the leak but did discover another issue. They ordered the part, installed it the next day and found the tire leak was a loose valve stem which they replaced. All that work and they charged next to nothing.

Thanks for the help on Memorial Day! I blew a flat about 20 minutes from Wendover and received good service. Easy process and also received a recommendation for a tire shop that could help me get on the road again. The driver was also really professional and helped the situation by providing awesome customer service. Thanks again!

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! My car broke down while driving through to go to California for a funeral. They helped us get a rental and had my car fixed by the time I came back through 2 days later. Great service and can't rave enough about them.

Great and timely service! We were stuck up to the frame way out in the flats on a Sunday morning. We hiked back to cell service a quick google search pulled up S&R we agreed on a price they told me it would take a little more than an hour to get out to us. About an hour later we could see them making their way out to us it didn t take them long and we were out and back on our way. Huge thanks for coming out on a Sunday to bail us out!

My sister and I were traveling to California when our car started violently shaking on the highway. S&R came and towed us immediately and took us back to their shop. An after market part from another shop had gone bad while we were on the road. They helped us organize obtaining a part from Mercedes of Salt Lake, and even stayed late to make sure we were back on the road that night. They were friendly, wonderful, and had great pricing!Service: General repairs & maintenance

My camping trailer lost an axle and i needed it repaired so we can continue on out trip. These guys got me back on the road the next day. They even came in on Saturday (they are closed on Saturdays) to complete the job. I was more than pleased with the service as well as the cost.

Traveling on Rte 80 through Windover, we experienced a major engine problem. We contacted S&R who were able to tow us in and repair our vehicle. We received AAA service! Mechanics were very capable and the staff very friendly. They even got us to a hotel and a car rental at a discount rate. THANK YOU!!

We had a wonderful experience with S&R when we broke down just a few miles west of Wendover. Garry towed us at 9:00 am and hooked us up with a rental. He also helped on his off time load our car on a U-Haul. Thanks so much Garry. We appreciate you!.

This place was wonderful! My family was a couple hours into a car ride to California when we started hearing odd noises in our car. We had a couple of ideas on what it might be and though it would take an hour or two to fix. We found this place on Google and I am pleasently surprised! We drove in and the team came out and literally in less then 15 minutes we were on the road again! The mechanic knew what it was just from the sound of the engine a plate had fallen off of it's place and was rattling around! Very pleased with the speed and knowledge of the mechanics!

They charged my card $ 1,000 and never pulled my truck out of the mud. They told me the cost, I told them I would not pay that amount so they left but I had already gave them card number, They told me my card declined. I found out they actually took the money out of my account. When I told them to return the money since they provided a service they said it was for me calling them out there. $1,000 for driving a few miles???!!! I find out later they are family owned so the manager did not care to help me at all! These guys are crooks!!! They shouldn t even be in business if that s how they operate.

Very accommodating. Called to rent a car and set it up. The service was above and beyond in communication. Plans fell through and we had to cancel. We will definitely comeback and use S&R for car rental. Thanks again.

Tow service picked us up fast, on New Year's Eve night, and fixed our tire in the morning.Ask for Carlos, he did a fantastic job, and really went above and beyond to get us back on the road.

Oh if only I could rate negative stars.. Also sorry about the long post, it will be worth reading if you're thinking of using this company though. My fianc� and I went out to the salt flats to take bridal pictures with our photographer friend that flew clear out from Georgia. In turn the truck got stuck in the only spot of bad mud about a mile out from the peninsula. We dug and we dug, unable to get it unstuck. From there we walked to the peninsula to get some help, only having our nice shoes we walked barefoot on salt, aka broken glass We called S & R Auto to get us 'unstuck' and they sent out a service truck to see the damage. Now this service truck had close to bald tires, a cracked windshield, and midway through the drive through the water the guy drove about 40 mph and blew his fusebox making his window wipers stop working. He casually said 'this happens all the time', meanwhile water drips from the fusebox onto my fianc�'s feet. We get out there, he ties about 9 ghetto tow straps together about 150 ft in length, with a truck smaller than ours he tries to pull it just burrowing himself into the mud not moving us an inch. He gets pissed, hops out, and waits for his boss to come get him. His boss does and they said we'll come back later with a mudcat. 8 HOURS LATER after standing in the heat, digging, attempting to dig ourselves out they decide to show up. We see them, and they stop because their hydraulic line broke, which sets us another hour and a half more. Hardly any words said, they pick up their truck that got stuck, tow it back to land, and call saying 'can't come get you without a credit card number' we give them one, and then they say WE NEED TO GET SOME OIL. Keep in mind it's about 130 in the morning now, we had been stuck for almost 12 hours. They get back, we see them, finally we call them and they say, we're all broke down can't come get you, sorry. And ABANDON us out there in the middle of the night. The next day we also discovered they have two mudcats, they just didn't want to go get it. Just thought I should share this story so this doesn't happen to anyone else, this place clearly doesn't even know the meaning of customer service. THANK YOU S & R! P.s. I recommend Mr. Tow! They care and got us out in about 2 hrs the next day.

Who ever works there is so unprofessional, rude and should not be on the phone or working anywhere. asked about renting a car said that he would only be there until 4 pm and would only stay if i would pay him the extra time he was there and i had to also pay him over time. made the mistake calling him a few mins after 4 pm and he yelled at me telling me that he was off the clock and not to call him again until he was back on the clock. like i said unprofessional and very rude...there should not even be one star showing for this jerk!!

I called at 11:50 and the owner said they were leaving for lunch. She asked to check back in one hour. I said I'd be there in 2 minutes. She said "check back in an hour". I could not believe it. I needed the vehicle to be out to Elko. I didn't have the time to wait the hour.I wish there would be another rental company that I could give my business to. Any takers?

Avoid at all costs!The short story: In 30 years of life I have never met a more unprofessional, predatory company than this one. Don't allow your money to go to crooks that don't even pretend to take care of you. You are better off lighting your money on fire and watching it burn than giving it to these pirates.The medium length story. My wife recently experienced the death of her mother (who lives in Cali.) We moved out to California shortly before her passing of terminal cancer in a rushed fashion, leaving one of our cars back in Utah. A family member broke down crossing the salt flats, and State Farm decided to tow it to these guys.After a week of calling them every other day, and talking to a teenager (with babies crying in the background?) who kept telling me "the mechanic is busy" or "out" and "Can I call you back tomorrow?" They finally gave me a diagnosis. $750 for a timing belt !!!! (and "there might be other stuff wrong with it, but they have to fix the timing belt to see first") . That sounded high to me, I remembered being quoted in the $300's back in Salt Lake a year ago, and I mentioned that to him. He told me "normally when people quote you that low, they aren't giving you a warranty, and they are making you buy the parts yourself..." I would like to know what planet this kid thinks we live on. I have never, ever, had an auto repair shop request me to go get the part, because that is something that they normally round up the cost of, and make a little extra money. What a dummy. I called him on that, and then he said "Well, we are just small shops out here, and we can't provide the same types of prices as in Salt Lake." After I hung up with him, I called 2 other shops, one in SLC and one in Wendover, that both quoted me in the $300 range.So, to make a long story short, I paid them a $50 diagnostic fee, found another mechanic willing to pick it up and fix it, and I told them to get it out into the parking lot for him to pickup. When I asked if the other mechanic (called "The Shop" in Wendover) could just go inside to get the keys, he said "No, we are going to leave the car unlocked and just leave the keys in there somewhere." REALLY! You can't even do me the basic courtesy of locking my car until he picks it up! It's just sad that people like this exist. I hope this review steers people away from these uncaring, shady people.BUYER BEWARE!!!! STAY AWAY!!!

Pulled up with a busted brush guard and they had it welded and me back on the road in under 20 min! Super nice guys that can probably fix anything on your truck.

Great service!! I was leaving the best Western hotel when my car fell off the car dolly and they helped us get it right back on!! Very nice! They also offered to do it for free which was great but I paid anyway.
