Best ski resort in Utah, by far. Most vertical, most number of black and double diamond runs. A great all around resort. Been skiing here for over 35 years. I'm a local.

I've been skiing here for over 20 years. I love all the options available for different levels of skiers. When my kids are younger, they love Baby Thunder. But, as they grow, and for us adults, there are so many great advanced options. And, it's the most affordable resort to get season passes for my family of 7.We also stay a couple nights a year at the Cliff Lodge. We love it, especially the pool and hot tubs. We also love spending a day each summer doing the Summer Activities.

I enjoyed my visit skiing at snowbird. It was a storm day snowing 1 feet, making it an ideal day for fresh powder turns nonstop the whole day. The black runs are steep and deep. Also, you can enjoy a very long run of 3000 vertical feet after getting off the aerial tram. There are also some lifts closing at 4:15 or 4:30, extending the time you have for last run. Finally, the resort public safety staff helped me shovel out my car from parked in 1 foot of snow.Walkability: Resort is walkable with parking shuttlesFood & drinks: A bit overpriced

I enjoyed my time here. Terrain is super neat and well maintained. Ski patrol is readily available. The whole terrain is very wide and big compared to other s nearby. Restaurants are available around the mountains. Rooms are also available. There are year round activities and events. October fest is pretty big and I had lot of fun here. Views are spectacular here around the area. And runs are kind of hard for beginners. Black runs are pretty steep if you are new-bee.Nearby activities: Skiing and snowboardingFood & drinks: Multiple restaurants are available around the mountainNoteworthy details: Beautiful views

My family and friends had a great time. Staff was very friendly and made the first timers want to come back. Highly recommend this location, especially if you re coming from Salt Lake City downtown or the airport.Food & drinks: Many restaurant and bar options.Noteworthy details: Staff is very friendly and welcoming. This is the closest ski location on the mountain coming from downtown Salt Lake City and easy to reach by train and bus for a day trip.

An excellent skiing destination! As a beginner with limited experience and no equipment of my own, the group lessons here, along with lift tickets and rental services, were incredibly convenient.Despite trying equipment from other ski shops before, none suited me well. However, the professionalism of the rental team here stood out they efficiently and friendly helped me choose perfectly fitting snowboard packages! The snow conditions are fantastic, providing a smooth skiing/snowboarding experience. Additionally, the unique scenic tram is a great thing to try! The breathtaking views were impressive!

Skied this resort two days. It was our worst ski days we've ever experienced in our 20 years of skiing. First day: no parking, parked up by cliffs lodge and had to walk up the mountain to get to a cat track (no welcome entrance type feel). It's just such a wide resort, if you want to get somewhere at the base you have to ride a lift up and ski your way across the mountain or you have to walk a mile. No park, no fun kid area, our son is 7 and was exhausted from walking. Then we left at 3:00 and took 30 minutes to walk to our car and we sat for 3 1/2 hours and didn't move a single ft because of traffic jam, no accident! Then we were in the car another hour bumper to bumper out of the canyon. Didn't get out till 8pm!!! No food or drinks it was horrid! Day two: 1hour traffic jam getting there and parked on the side of the road (no parking lot) had to walk a mile up hill on the side of the road with traffic to the side of us. Then we rode the tram and get to the top and they announce its only for experts when there is a blue square run. Snow makers are blowing snow on you on the most inconvenient spots, for instance if your on a cat track and have to walk some to get going again you have a snow maker blowing right on you making it miserable! We just hated this resort. And when you pay $1000 for your family to have fun for 2 days it would have been nice to leave happy. Too big you can't have fun!

It is always a pleasure to visit Snowbird and it's wonderful snow, often truly "The best Snow on Earth". Even met a couple visiting from France, who stated that "your snow is superior to ours this year."Food & drinks: Reasonable prices on food and drinks, considering normal ski area prices.Noteworthy details: Plan ahead for your parking situation though, some days are worse than others.

When I went, there was literally 1 foot of powder over compacted ice... so make sure you bring the right skies for what the weather has dropped recently! I was worried it was going to be incredibly crowded since they don't limit their lift tickets, but this resort is so huge it felt like the mountain belonged to you, until you got to the lift lines. Lift lines were often at a slope, so you needed to dig your poles in to make sure you weren't sliding into the person in front of you (which could last 30 minutes while you wait your turn) . Other skiers and snowboarders were friendly and courteous. Since we started right at the beginning of the day, there were several blasts of explosives indicating avalanche control. Runs were opening throughout the day as avalanche mitigation was completed, so even at 2 p.m., we were able to ski a run that had untouched powder. It really is a gigantic adult playground where the only rule to follow is to not run into others (and suggested not to go into roped off avalanche areas, but there are entrances in case you want to anyways). Incredible experience. Seemingly endless amount of runs on two sides of the mountain.

There were only three lifts open when I went due to weather conditions but even with that I was able to have a great time. This resort has great runs for beginners, intermediates and experts alike. I am not a super experienced skier and went with a group of varying skill levels and everyone had a good time.Nearby activities: Skiing.Safety: Very safe.Walkability: Walkable.Food & drinks: Expensive food.Noteworthy details: Epic slopes.

Although it was challenging to find a parking spot on Saturday, the ski lines were short and moving fast. Buying the lift pass online was definitely the way to go since we walked to the machine and got our card. The snow was great and the views even better.

Did not stay overnight on the resort because they would not book stays of less than 3 nights.I did go snowboard there on a legit powday. Lots of new snow and it remained snowing all day while there resetting the snow continuously. Visibility was of course poor for this reason. That said this had to be the busiest resort I ve ever visited and the initial lift line ate a solid hour and a half out of the day. Further because of the amount of skiers despite all the snow there were no fresh lines to be had.

Snowbird is one of my favorite mountains to ski. The staff has so much fun here and are enjoyable to be around. Felipe from California was exceptional helping me find my friends. It s a big mountain but easy to get around. The heritage tunnel near the Peruvian lift is one of the coolest mountain passages I ve ever seen. So many fun runs and everyone is having the most fun at snowbird.

Snowbird used to be great. It used to be a place you could score. Those days are pretty much over. Maybe late season April on a Tuesday or something you might be able to actually lap some powder. But here is the truth. If there is powder first of all good luck gettin up the canyon. Will be closed for mitigation. Then you get to the resort and it's so crowded that anything with powder on it is tracked out immediately. Seriously..it will all be gone after a couple lifts. You could at that point hike for it and maybe find a couple more turns. The place is absolutely mobbed. Even if you score a rope drop for Mineral Basin lets say...it's all gone after 10 minutes and your waiting in mobbed lines to get back up. (See pic below)Then as the cherry on top get ready for horrific lines to drive home. Again is Snowbird a great place to ski? YES...30 years ago.

My favorite ski resort. Period. This was our second season that we came to Utah for skiing and snowboarding. While the snow this year was not as spectacular as last year, it was still really great. There is a wide variety of intermediate and advanced runs for anyone's taste. The only downside could be the limited space for beginners.

Love snowbird! Aggressive terrain and great snow. It forces me to be a better skier. I have run into some parking guys that are rude but that is the only criticism.

Great resort, horrible job. While Snowbird is appealing to those getting to enjoy the mountain, the company as a whole treats their employees terribly. Management allows supervisors to harass and disrespect anyone who holds a lower position than them. Your hard work will be more of a threat than appreciated due to the lack of work from the rest of employees. HR is constantly messing up paychecks and not fixing their mistakes, so you re working at a pro rated hourly of what you re promised. Two specific higher ups on the Mountain Operation department (M&D) thrive in chaos, anyone looking to grow and move up gets degraded into staying small so they can project their short comings onto other team members. Management allows their supervisors and other employees who have time under their belts to work under the influence on the clock. Super unfortunate I have to write this review but for higher ups to claim they re trying to change the culture only to continue enabling a hostile work environment is simply not okay! A different breed, indeed. Do better.

Snowbird terrain is the best when it comes to skiing powder bowls! Unfortunately, the service that Snowbird provides ruins the experience. I have been to Snowbird twice this season, and both times, the lift "Peruvian" has stopped working right at the time the resort opens. I heard lift operators blaming it on the fact that they are grooming the resort. Never ever at any other ski resort have I seen them push back opening times because they are grooming the resort still, and I've been to A LOT of other resorts! It's very disappointing because so many people get up there really early in order to get first tracks, and end up waiting in line forever! Today I personally waited in line for 50 minutes before giving up and going home because there was no sign of progress. The Aerial Tram was also held up at the same time and the lines were crazy long. Snowbird needs to improve making their lifts accessible, so that they can open when they actually say they open! 11 inches of snow in one night is nowhere near unheard of, and a world-renowned ski resort should have staff available to handle it. I understand it happening every now and then, but from my experience it seems to be the norm.

Skiing is phenomenal, just make sure you bring powder or all-mountain skis because the terrain tends to be that, deep powder. I had slalom race skis and they struggled to float. But the mountain and it's majestic views were more than enough to make up for it

I signed up for an adult ski lesson. I was put in an intermediate group with another woman who was clearly a beginner, while I was tackling blues and blacks as a warm up. This was discussed at the beginning. The lesson began on the green / bunny beginner hill and it was clear the other student was not confident.I was frustrated because after 2 hours, we had only done 3 runs. I ve tried to follow up with the ski school multiple times but have had no luck. I was told the school would investigate and follow up with me but no one has.Alternately, I had an excellent experience with Alta s ski school.Given the high cost of the day lift ticket and lesson, I m highly disappointed with my experience. And not normally one to leave reviews but apparently I m not alone in this as I had another friend have a similar experience with Snowbird. Overall if you re debating the two mountains, go with Alta for a better experience.

Snowbird is an excellent resort. Expansive ski areas and variety. I like that the lifts take you to the ridge of the mountain and you can ski both sides of the mountain. It is expensive for a day pass. But it is one of the best resorts in Utah!

Beautiful resort, probably would have been a lot better if there was more snow. A lot of walking required to get to different sections of the mountain though, which wouldn't be fixed with additional snow. Odd layout, lodge food was below par.
