I wish there was a 0 star button. Unprofessional, untrustworthy, may as well throw your money in the trash. Without writing a novel of how terrible of an experience I had with Ray s service , I m now out $7,000 on a car I had inspected there and Ray s garage has proven to be the most untrustworthy and quite honestly lazy mechanic shop I ve been to. And looks like I m not the only one Ray s has done this to long story short I took a car to get a pre purchase inspection and was told by a lady at the front desk and the mechanic that did the job that the car was in great condition, had no serious problems, would just need routine oil changes and it would be a good vehicle to buy less than 3 WEEKS later engine misfiring and grinding noises when starting up. Took it to another shop who sent pictures of coolant leaking from the engine block with rust all around it that should ve been caught at time of inspection and informed me there had been fluid leaking into the head gasket for far longer than a few weeks, so bad it now requires a full head gasket or engine swap (estimated $5,000+). Incredibly frustrating to pay someone to inspect a car and provide a diagnosis and to have such an outcome. AND not to mention asking multiple times at time of inspection for some kind of documentation or invoice and they have no record of it. Doubt they even looked at the car at all with how obvious it was leaking. Don t waste your money with Ray sPhotos provided by a mechanic at a different shop that actually does his job.

Rays is the best auto shop I've ever used hands down. Extremely fair pricing. If you're looking to fix your car, but can't pay an arm and a leg to predatory auto shops, call rays and they'll beat the competitors price.Rays also does a great job of working with their customers to get your car fixed. They'll use customer supplied parts (no warranty on this type of work of course), incase you can source parts for cheaper. Their staff are all extremely kind and patient. They've done a ton of work on my old audi, and they take great care of me.

Surprised I haven't already previously reviewed this shop considering I've been going to them for years, so here it is! They always take such good care of me. I've always felt that they were really honest with me about what actually needed to get done each time. Thank you guys for all your hard work! My husband and I are definitely loyal to your shop, we don't go anywhere else.

I had them look at my suspension air bags which leak air. I was told one of the fittings was looseand it was tightened back into place and it won t leak anymore. But it still leaks exactly the sameas before I brought it in. Also paid them to clear my dashboard light which reads service tiremonitor system . Whether that meant either using a computer to bypass the dashboardnotification to clear it, or looking into the tires to find the faulty sensor to fix it, that s what I waspaying them to do.They told me it was worked on and the codes were cleared. Of course the dashboard lightpopped up again the next day when I started up the truck, and still does every day.I called them to get a refund on the work that I paid them to do which wasn t done. Naturally,the receptionist argued with me for over 5 minutes about how it s a safety hazard to take off theTMS light off permanently, and they can t do that. They have no reservations about charging mycredit card, but hey at least they re keeping me safe by not fixing what I asked them to.Oh and thanks for the grease stains you left on my ceiling when you took my truck for a drivewithout asking me. Great work, bravo

We have used them a few times now both for my wife's car and now my daughter's car. Each time they were very open about what work can and should be done, the minimum needed to get it into running condition, and the estimated costs for each.They try hard to find the best prices on parts and do their best to get it done quickly. I've really appreciated their open communication and candid feedback during the process.I would definitely recommend Ray's Garage to anyone looking for a reliable, honest, and fairly priced auto shop.

I've brought my car into rays's garage for years and I have received the best service that I've had with a mechanic ever! They are fair with their pricing and they do great work. They always have worked with me whether it's my schedule or pricing. I've recommended them to everyone I know and everyone that has tried them out has found that they provide incredible service, quality of work, and honesty. My car runs great and it's because of Ray's Garage. Seriously guys go there and you will not be disappointed I promise.

My wife and I have gone to Ray's for a while now, but we recently went to have some emissions work done on our 2007 Suburban. I was really pleased with how detailed they were in making sure they got the diagnosis correct, as the check engine light was pulling about 5 different codes. They tested several things, drove it, tested again, drove it and even though it took a bit more time, they were able to make the right repair. Then we go to pick it up and the repair was less expensive than they originally quoted us! Nice! Been really happy with this mechanic, and the shop personnel in general.

Came up here for some training and had some car problems. Staff was awesome, John was able to find the problem right away and got it fixed in a quick manner. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone who needs auto maintenance.

Rays garage has taken care of my companies vehicles for 10+ years. Great service, know what their doing and fair priced. Very clean looking shop too! I would highly recommend John and his crew to anyone looking to repair their vehicles. 5 stars all the way..

**UPDATE THEY VERY SPEEDILY TOOK CARE OF THE ISSUE AND WE ARE VERY HAPPY**Courtnie was very helpful and communicative about the costs and the work that needed to be done.We brought our car for work, we spent about $1,500 on repairs. Initially it seemed fine, and then close to our home (like 20 minutes on the highway) the car started rattling and a light came on about transmission issues. There were absolutely NO related problems before we brought it in and clearly some sort of mistake was made when they did the repairs. I totally understand that mistakes happen, however, my review of Ray's Garage is going to be based on how they take responsibility for this issue and what they do to fix it.I feel the true measure of a business is how they handle things that go wrong.As I was typing this we heard their first steps. they are towing the car to the garage to look at, on their dime. I am already impressed, and this will probably end up a five star review if they continue to handle the issue in this manner.****UPDATE**** They handled the issue, didn't charge us for it, and even paid to have it towed in case it wasn't driveable. I absolutely recommend them, most mechanics I've worked with charge for their own mistakes or don't take responsibility. Mistakes happen, this was handled wonderfully. I fully recommend.

I take all of the vehicles in my household to Ray's when something needs to be repaired as well as for general maintenance. In each of my dealings with Ray's I've always come away feeling that they've been honest, fair and friendly. They've worked on the following brand of vehicle for me Jeep, Toyota, Lexus and BMW with total satisfaction on all of them. I highly recommend using Ray's Garage.

This place is fantastic. Honest, stand up guy, got our car fixed up while we were on vacation. Can't speak highly enough of the service. You need a mechanic you can trust and this is the guy. I honestly hope my car breaks down the next time I'm in SLC just so I can visit him again.

Purchased a truck on 6/19/18, before purchasing the truck had Ray's garage do a diagnostic, paid 45 dollars for the diagnostic and was told the truck was in good condition. Needed new tire's and an oil change, but besides that was in good condition. I was referred there by the guy who sold me the truck, and the entire time him and the technician we're acting like good friends which I thought was strange, but based on this information, purchased the truck. The next day 6/20/18 went and attempted to get an oil change, during this had the shop do a courtesy inspection for me, imagine my surprise when I received new's the vehicle was barely safe to drive and had things that needed to be replaced immediately. Was given a 3500 dollar bill the day after getting an all clear from Ray's Garage. Called the garage, spoke to the same technician named Steve and he told me the company who told me there was damage lied and gave me the owner of Ray's garage's email. Went and got a third quote from a auto mechanic that I have known my entire life and from his was told everything the second company told me about the damage, plus more was correct. This truck that I purchased and have driven three time's is barely safe to drive and was given a green light by Ray's garage. Have contacted the owner multiple times with no response and am getting stonewalled at the shop. NEVER go here even with the good reviews, because either they didn't look or blatantly lied to me and I'm now stuck with a 5000 dollar repair bill on a truck that I've owned less then a week.

I took my car in to Ray's. They did such a great job. They were very fast and precise and very kind. I was really taken care of well. I highly recommend them to anyone. They do anything they can to keep the cost low for you. And I really appreciated that.

These guys did an excellent job with the service on my Duramax. I take pride in the condition and care of my truck and they did not disappoint! My truck was completed in great time, it was clean, and best of all no leaks! I appreciate the knowledge and customer service I experienced there and I trust these guys with my vehicles. I will be back next time.

I brought my vehicle in for brake and engine repair, which they fixed great! The BEST part is they change my tail light that was out, without being asked or without charging me. They have fixed my vehicles many time, and I have never had a problem! Done right & done fair!

I have been taking my vehicles to Ray's for many years. They have the lowest shop rate in the area. I take my cars here because I know John and Steve will stand behind the work they do. They don't nickle and dime me like other places I have taken my car in the past. So I highly recommend Ray's garage to all my friends and neighbors. Remember if you don't do your preventive maintenance you can expect multiple problems. See they guys at Ray's garage to get the straight story.

Used to be a good shop 10+ years ago.I am suprised to see 5 star rating from customers..Makes me wonder if they are real.Terrible customer service. Terrible work,The current owner is dishonest in his dealingsI know first hand! The front wheel of my truck almost fell off going down the freeway after they worked on it.. Over charged for junk partsAnd installed the parts improperly, and denied any responsibility, I would think twice before visiting Rays garage.

These guys are honest to a fault. There is no run-around, no shady business, no extras. They do what needs to be done at the cost and time they said. They guarantee their work. The mechanics are all great and friendly as well as sweet Courtney that manages the office. I won't take my cars anywhere else. They are lifesavers!!

I brought my 2009 Suburban into Rays Auto in January and February of 2016. I had the them do a $600 repair to the engine and also asked them to replace the "Daytime" Driving light bulbs for me. They agreed for an additional charge. I authorized this and provided them with the new bulbs. After I picked up the Suburban I realized that one of the lights was still burnt out and the old bulbs that they returned to me were a different color. I immediately called Ray's and they admitted that they must have replaced the wrong bulbs and to bring it back.After further inspection I realized that both sides of my bumper had deep scratches from where they dragged the headlight housing out and let it hang while they working on it. I had just had my entire bumper cover professionally repainted last summer so I knew there were no scratches prior to these incident. When I explained this to John he spent 10-15 minutes denying that this was possible without even looking at it. He argued that "we work on $100,000+ cars here all the time" "So, We are very careful" "We could not have done that". Then after my encouragement he finally went back to the shop to look at it. When he came back out he said - "Well, it looks like we probably did that" "I don't know how this happened". "He later said - Well, if you want to fix it - I might be able to help you out a little". After a few weeks past - I brought it up again during another conversation. He then stated that "he still doesn't think they did it" and "he doesn't need my business anymore". By they way, that other conversation was why my friends car (whom I referred) was in there for the 3rd time for the same problem in 4 months and after paying Rays $1500 to fix it. He told me it was not a good car and he never wants to see it again!

I have used Rays for several issues over the past few years. I would recommend them to anyone out there who is looking for professionalism, honest and integrity. Don't waist your time looking for another mechanic, these guys are the best!

Went in for the first time after going to another well-known place for awhile. I always suspected the previous guys weren't doing a great job so I decided to give Ray's a try. Came in just for an oil change and they immediately found some real noticeable problems the last guys left. They brought it to my attention and fixed the issue which potentially saved me thousands. These guys really know what they're doing and genuinely care about what they're working on, even if it means letting me know about other problems going on in my car.

We have been patrons of Ray's Garage for over 25 years. Their automotive skills, service and integrity have been excellent. We have referred countless friends and associates to Ray Joos and now to the present owner John Adderly without a single regret or complaint. All of them have remained Ray's Garage clients. We have done everything from oil changes to motor replacement with complete satisfaction. We have found their pricing fair and favorable, but the thing I appreciate most is a competent mechanic quickly able to identify a problem, repair only that problem and being completely forthright while keeping track of the overall condition of our vehicles. Clutch was out on my 2017 Subaru Cosstrek and they fixed that. I was concerned with the front differential because the car was making a sound in low gears turning. They did not even check that. Poor inspection! I had to fly back to get my car and drive it back to California and they give me the ok 1800 dollars later. I called them on the road and said the sound was still there. He suggested it was a fluid issue. Turns out it was the differential. The secretary apologized and said yeah that s a big miss. The next day the owner ( I think) said hey the car was not drivable when you got here. Made up some excuses about the holidays. Just a total joke.

We ve been going to Ray s for at least 10 years, and my in-laws have been going there for decades. They aren t the very cheapest but they are fair and you pay less overall because they only do what needs to be done. Fast, too. Honest mechanics are priceless.

Will never go back! We've been driving 20 miutes out of our way to come here, but they lost a customer today. The lady answering the phones doesn't know anything so has to ask and wait 2 days to get an answer back. They quoted us a transmission rebuild Substantially higher than anywhere else with no warranty so we tried to take it somewhere else and they wouldn't give us the keys to our car without paying a ridiculous fee. They hadn't done any work and couldn't tell me what was wrong or how much the actual repair would be. Disputing my cc and will never return. Could never actually talk to anyone besides the receptionist. Manager is always unavailable and will never return calls.

The friendliness of the staff is top notch. You feel welcome there, cared for. They did great work on my car, and for a really good deal. I definitely plan on going back!
