As you can see from my before and after pictures, Maaco did a really great job. It looks TONS better. I can't afford a new truck in today's economy, and my truck has low miles for it's age, so they breathed new life into it. They were originally going to replace the top altogether with a junkyard top, but found the junkyard's was just as rusty, so they took it's windshield and replaced my rock-chipped one with it so it looks new too, at no extra charge. That was a sweet bonus. The only downside was they kept it for a little over 4 weeks. After all is said and done, I'm very happy with it.

They asked me to leave a review, so here it goes.Go somewhere else.Paid for the best paint package, and this is the best they could match deep cherry metallic on my Jeep. Thought I could live with it, but it s horrible and sticks out like a sore thumb. Came here almost two years ago and had them paint my E30 BMW, again paid for the most expensive paint job and they painted it the wrong color. Thought I would try them again, now I have confirmation they really can t paint match.

To Maaco in Sandy s credit, they did throw up a lot of red flags during the process of painting my vehicle. Unfortunately, I was na�ve enough to give them the benefit of the doubt because they had a 4.4 rating on Google. I will be happy if this review prevents someone from going through the same disaster I had to endure.Initial QuoteI initially brought my car in to get a quote for paint. They went through the different paint options and total cost to get the job done. After hearing about my different choices, I went with the mid-level preferred paint . I was told if I stripped, sanded, and primed the car myself this service (with a 40% off coupon) would cost just under $800 after tax. I was told if I got it done by the end of the month (July) the turnaround time should be five business days. It sounded great, a much better alternative to buying a paint booth and doing it myself. I spent around 40 hours stripping, prepping, sanding, and priming the car for paint and brought it down to finish the job.The real quoteThis is where the red flags start popping up. I went in for him to give me the estimate and my $800 turned into additional prep work they would need to do get the car ready for painting. This is where $800 would suddenly be $2096. It was prepped down to a 300-grit sandpaper I really couldn t believe it. I wasn t given an explanation except it was something they had to do on all cars regardless of the prep work I did. I was left in a vulnerable spot where I couldn t take the car anywhere else because it was in bare primer without bumpers, without decals, lights taped off and not fit to drive. I knew this and they knew it and really took advantage of me. My five days to completion also changed to a 16 days. I m really glad this car was my secondary vehicle or that would have left me in another terrible situation.Pick UpAfter 16 days I went to pick up the vehicle, paid in full, and was asked to sign papers prior to me having the opportunity to see the work. I went outside and was immediately not happy with the paint work. I m not expecting a masterpiece, I know this is Maaco, but this is bad (see quality below). I m confident they did no prep work. What was really shocking is when I started the car, it was three times louder than when I dropped it off. I stopped the car and looked at my muffler which had the entire left side gashed wide open. I went back to say I wouldn t take my car back damaged.This is when I was absolutely berated by four employees at once (including the owner) letting me know they did not do it. I just wanted them to pay for a new muffler. They stated they couldn t have done it as and it was only driven to the paint booth and back. The owner told me this is why they are hesitant to take older cars. I called my muffler shop who offered a discount because the muffler was done a few weeks prior to dropping the car off at Maaco. They did agree to pay the $130 for a new muffler.QualityPrep work wasn t done on the car as evidence of cracks, globs, over spray, and even areas where you can see primer below the paint as it wasn t applied properly. On top of that they took the liberty to paint over chrome mirrors as well.Maaco corporate customer serviceI contacted customer service after words. After a long process with them they let me know Maaco corporate will not do anything. The individual locations are franchised and all refunds are at the discretion of the location. Would you guess they wouldn t want to give me one. With that said because they are franchised I imagine some Maaco locations are good. This is not one of them.Service: Painting

Completely broke my passenger door handle. I understand accidents happen, but they didn t care to tell me. There s a drip of dried paint by the taillight. Took about a month was quoted two weeks- so I would plan on that if you choose to go here. Other than that everything was fine.

Maaco did a fantastic job with my Civic. The paint job was just as I expected, and its quality is phenomenal. There are a few mistakes here and there, such as a small strip between the inside corner of my mirror and some weather stripping that didn t get painted, but you can only see it if you look at the right angle. No paint job is perfect, and I think Maaco did an outstanding job. I definitely recommend them if you are looking to have your car painted. They are highly professional, offer amazing quality, and all at a reasonable price that you won t get elsewhere. The only reason I give four stars is because communication was lacking. When I dropped the vehicle off, they estimated it would take two weeks to be completed. I wasn t able to pick it up until five weeks after I dropped it off, and they didn t call and let me know about any delays or give me any updates. I had to call them to get that information. So not the greatest communication. But other than that, amazing shop, I definitely recommend them.

I always enjoy the Maaco people and they do a beautiful job on car repairs. On older card they will work with customers on options that will lower cost. My only criticism has been the extended time it took to complete my latest repair causing an important scheduling problem for me.I would recommend them to anyone.

The color was perfect. They had my car for 10 days and it looks like they rushed the paint job. A couple paint blobs, dings that should have been bondo'd and front inner fender rubs when I turn left. Will they pay for a rental for me while they fix those (maybe 2 - 3 days to fix), I really doubt it. The price was good if they would have done it right, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

I got a full custom paint job from Maaco (about a year ago) which turned out excellent! It did take a couple of weeks longer than what they originally estimated, which wasn t great because I only have one vehicle, but the paint job itself was great. From what I recall, they had some staffing issues so I don t think that s their norm, but expect to have your car back a couple of weeks after their estimated timeframe (for a full custom paint job) and you ll have a good experience.About a year later, a driver cut in front of me at a red light and completely messed up my front bumper. I went back to Maaco to get the bumper custom-painted and replaced and it was once again excellent service. They coordinated well with the other driver s insurance company and they only kept my car for one day this time (they ordered the parts and painted the bumper before I brought it in for the replacement). I ve dealt with Mike both times and he s super friendly and helpful. Would absolutely recommend Maaco in Sandy, UT.Services: Painting, Body & Trim

Imagine your car is super oxidized like the one on the left (I don't have before pictures of my Mazda so use your imagination). Your paint job is ruined and you can't show your face in public. Then you figure out MAACO can repaint your car for half the price of any other auto shop. Less than two weeks later, your car paint and pride have been restored. See right photo.

We dropped off my husband's truck the middle of Aug. We were told that it would be about 4 weeks, on week 6 we went to pick it up only to find imperfections and over spray. So, we had to leave it for another 2 weeks. $4,500 and 8 weeks later we got the truck back. It looks good now, but the cost and time was a but excessive. I should also mention, we had to drive up to check on the truck a few times because when we call no one answers the phone.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR .unfortunately the paint job on my car is horrible! I was told they sand down to get rid of slight blemishes before paint. They didn t. My windows had overspray on them haven t figured out how to remove definitely a difference and very noticeable on inside of my doors. There s a dirty residue all over inside my doors, my trunk and inside my hood, damn!My headlights had something that got on the inside, did they forget to tape off too?????They said when my emblem (3) would be removed, would break. They said they would be replaced. The manager told me, they couldn t replace them (Acura) too much expensive to replace!! They obviously dug them off, than replaced originals, scratched and put back on with tape, (unbelievable) looks like crap, wasn t even on straight. I guess the $99.00 paint job lives on, but I pd 2300.00. I worried about how my beautiful black car would look, honestly looked better before! I am so sorry, I definitely got what MAACO is known for .DONT WASTE YOUR TIME! I would never recommend, my grandson could do a better job with a spray can Just do t waste your money!! I also found 2 fingerprints embedded in my paint! What a total disaster

The only reason I am leaving two stars is because the work was decent for the small damage needing repair .As for customer service: One week time estimate quickly turned into 3. I dropped my car off on Monday and was told it s such a small job it d be a week at most. One week goes by, not a single phone Call during the first week. Monday of the second week I finally called for an update, placed on silent hold so they could check in the shop, I was advised they had just got the part needed and it s looking like Wednesday/Thursday for pick up. Wednesday I received a call and they said originally the part they ordered was incorrect and to fix it properly I needed to pay over 2k instead of the 1700 quoted. I exclaimed, absolutely not, it s not my mistake that a part was ordered incorrectly due to a professionals mistake. He said he d call back once he figures it out, never did.They didn t make me pay for their mistake thankfully but the fact the estimator tried after already being over on time quoted, was frustrating!So week two goes by and again I had to call for an update Monday of week 3.I was advised I could pick up Wednesday afternoon. I called and finally got a manager on the phone Wednesday before picking up my car just to be sure it was ready, thankfully it was. I said I was glad to have a manager on the phone and I started to explain my frustration of the experience and he cut me short and said oh yeah I know the computer showed us a wrong part and caused the delay, sorry about that but your cars ready just being washed.To be fair they do have a sign that said time quoted is only an estimate and not a guarantee. But communication is key and to only have received one call the entire time and the subject being the estimate needing to be adjusted at my expense for their error was the kicker for me.Save yourself the headache, the quality of the work was average for an awful customer service experience! From one business owner to another, I know humans make errors, that s where customer service is critical and you dropped the ball. Thank you.

For the money this was a great job and they were very willing to fix mistakes however I did have to bring it back multiple times as things were overlooked. They got very close to original color and did a great job with the pin striping tape. Small overspray easy to get off and the dents they did fix are 96% perfect. Biggest thing I suggest is circle every dent you want fixed because no other ones will unless primer will fill them.

Greg and Mike always take care of me. Had them repair and repaint my bumper as well as repaint the wife s entire car. We were very happy with the quality and the repairs were done on time. In fact, I m bringing my vehicle back to them again due to a minor run-in with the corner of my garage. They do great work.

Best price in town after 7 estimates. They did a great job. All on time and on budget. No extras or up sells were tried. You're going to shop around and hear a lot from a lot of different people, but this is really the only stop you'll need to make to get the job done right.The man at the front, Ondjre, was both direct and studious in his assessment of the damage to my wife's Dodge Avenger. The bumper had all but come completely off (it was held on by a zip tie by this point). The car had been in a wreck long before we owned it, so my hopes were... minimal. However, without over-promising or under delivering, the job was done well within the estimated time told to us, and he treated our vehicle like family when breaking down what had to be done. The price was MORE than fair, and his fellow co-workers were equally as efficient.The people at Maaco have my thanks for keeping my wife's car safe to drive, and while it's not as cherry as that 350z out front, it looks practically like new again. Exceptional work.

Go somewhere else.I had them do work on my truck, the results were disappointing. They did a good job on two major dents, but the scratches and paint were a waste of money. They got a lot of overspray on the leaf springs and frame on one side of the truck. There s a white coat of something in between the cab and the bed, plus some on the rock sliders. I was without my truck for a week longer than I was told. When I got a my vehicle back I noticed they did not do the tailgate work I paid for. I went back and they took the tailgate off so I could still have my truck. I went to go get the tailgate back, waited there forty minutes even though I called the day before to make sure it was ready. I ended up leaving because I had to go back to work and got it the next day. I came to this location based on the good reviews. That was not my experience. Save your money and take your business elsewhere.

Years ago, as an additional duty, I was a vehicle manager for over 200 vehicles. Vehicles would become damaged, and three repair estimates were required. Maaco s estimates were always well below the other 2 estimates, sometimes by several thousand. I have always brought my vehicles to Maaco for auto body repair to include our most recent repair to the driver s side rear quarter panel and bumper. As usual, Maaco provided high quality work at a great value. The work was completed in 8 business days, and I am extremely pleased with the finished product. I will continue to recommend and use Maaco for all my auto body repairs.Services: Painting, Body & Trim

I ve had my 4Runner painted here twice, and I ve been amazed at the work done to my 4Runner. KJ especially has been awesome to work with I ll always drive the 4 hours from southern Idaho to have any paint work done. The cactus grey is perfect!

I sent my car in to get the door and rocker panel replaced because I was involved in a accident, and I was quoted 1.5 Weeks it took 3 and the work is just Terrible. Not only was there overspray but the door was put on wrong, the paint match is wrong. Don t wast your money here, spend the extra money and get it done by a nicer shop.
