The transmission replacement I got was from transtar and had a warranty on it. A part of the transmission went out after about year and I got it fixed at a place transtar told me to go to. They said that the part was covered by the warranty and that they would reimburse me for the $600 that I spent. I called and faxed them all the info they asked for and waited. My reimbursement never came. I called and talked to a guy named Kelley over 15 times and each time he said that it was in the process or on its way and it never came. It s been almost a year now of me nagging them and they ve still never reimbursed me. Also now the transmission is having problems again. This time I took it to the Nissan dealer. They said the transmission needs to be replaced. I would not recommend transtar.

I am normally not one to leave a bad review. It's not good for a businesses livelihood to get a bad review out of spite. But buyers please beware! This company should not even be in business! I had one of their transmissions installed at a shop and it was supposed to have a 3-year warranty. The day I picked the truck up I was not even able to drive it nor was I able to drive it for a month and a half after that it would not go over 45 mph. I took it to the shop again and they looked at it and the transmission was bad. Transtar would not warranty their transmission! They claim that I abused the vehicle. Without even knowing me or even seeing me or knowing that I baby my truck more than most old ladies they claim that I abused their transmission. The transmission had less than 500 miles on it and never over 45 miles an hour and it was broken. Don't ever buy from this company it is the worst nightmare there i!!!s

I would never do business with these guys again. I bought a transmission from them and 9 months later it went out on me. They replaced it under the 3 year/ 100k miles warranty that I purchased. That transmission went out on me last month and they won't do anything with this one. They said the warranty does not start over with the replacement. They don't stand by their warranties and now I'm the one left out. I can't get a response from anyone in their corporate offices. If you're going to spend over $4k for a transmission then it should last more than 3 years. Give your money to someone's else who stands by their product and will respond to you.

This place is mediocre for parts, but I would never buy another transmission here. Three weeks after buying a transmission from here, two seals failed. I was told it had a 18 month/18,000 mile warranty, so I inquiries about swapping it out. They had me take it to a shop for verification, and the shop found the same thing I did. Transtar said sure they'll warranty it, but I have to pay half the labor since the warranty I have doesn't cover all of it. I called bs since I was the one that originally installed it, so therefore why am I paying for someone else to swap it since I'm more than capable? I also added that it was their faulty transmission, not my doing. They continue to argue with me and tell me I should of upgraded the warranty that covered all the labor. I tell them I would of gladly bought that warranty if it was presented to me, but it was never offered. They pretty much told me to pay the labor or I'm screwed. So now I'm out $400. Not only is this places warranty center a joke, but these local sales reps are too. You can call them all day long and they don't answer their phones. If you can talk to one of the ladies they'll say "oh yeah, he's here but I don't know why he isn't answering his phone". They also act like you're burdening them by having them do their job. I would steer clear, you're better off at Six States or even Autozone!Update:After all this, the transmission they sent the shop for warranty was bad out of the box. After dealing with lies from either Transtar and/or the shop, I've demanded my money back for the transmission. They have complied, but now I'm getting my Jeep back in pieces and not driveable. Which isn't the way I dropped it off.

Worst ever! Rude not helpful and been fighting with them for over 8 months transmissions was defective from get go. Don't honor anything. Like any company that rips you off gives you the go around.

JudyI'm sorry you misunderstood, the message on the valve body box is referring to the core being returned as soon as possible, And as far as oil in the box they are all tested before being sold to assure they are functioning properly.

Just bought a valve body from them 3 days ago spend over 500 on oils and mechanic to tell me the valve its bad because it won't shift on reverse. Even the box said *urgent* critical core please return immediately. And they still sold it to me.

Literally like the autozone of the transmission world. Been back 4 times cause they can t get the right part. Back on my 5th run and they have half of the right part. Not even enough cell service here to locate the closest bridge near by.

Great service! Could not believe they had, (in stock) hard to find manual parts. If they can't get it, they will direct you where you can!

Walked in the building and I did ring the bell three times and they just kept saying we will be there but toke them FOR EVER to come!!! Wasted more than 20min just waiting for someone to come out... don t like the service at all...
