Shoutout to Chris! Good service. I go here all the time and would not have it any other way. I don t trust other car repairs cause I feel like they take advantage, but Slaugh s is so transparent and helpful. Plus they were also faster compared to other repair shops. I really recommend Slaugh s! Thank you so much :)

Mike and his team are wonderful. I felt I had transparent, honest and reliable service. There s clearly a reason this shop has been in business for over 30 years. I had great conversations with the owner and would definitely come back.

I had some weird car trouble when driving from Logan to Salt Lake City for work. Slaugh's was able to squeeze me in same-day despite a busy schedule. It wound up being a phantom issue, but they did a thorough safety check and left me feeling very reassured that I could drive my vehicle without further issues. They treated me extremely fairly and transparently. I would highly recommend this shop!

Brought my car in after a recent oil change somewhere else caused the oil pressure light to come on. They took a look within a few hours of me bringing it in and told me that I didn t have an oil filter luckily they said my engine seems to look good and be doing ok, but they told me how big a deal it was and suggested I go back to the place I got the oil change to get money back and let the manager know. I was so appreciative for how quick their service was and how helpful they were! I will definitely take my car back with any future issues.

Living nearby, we've had a few instances where we had to resort to this particular auto repair shop instead of our preferred one, ~10 minutes away. I now happily make the extra drive. My neighbors have also faced the same situation with this mechanic, and we've discussed our experiences. Unfortunately, the consistent narrative revolves around their exorbitant overcharging practices. Additionally, I have concrete evidence of their lack of transparency.In one instance, they proposed a staggering $1.6k for a patch job on a bent wheel that had collided with a curb. They even admitted uncertainty about the success of the fix and suggested a secondary $800 option if the initial attempt failed. To add to the skepticism, they presented a damaged tire arm that I couldn't confirm even belonged to my vehicle. Declining their offer, I took my car to my trusted mechanic, who efficiently resolved the issue within an hour for a mere $60. SIXTY BUCKS. This pattern of overpricing is not unique to my experience; a friend incurred ~$20,000 in repairs for his camper at the same establishment.Moreover, there's inconsistency in the pricing quotes they provided to my wife compared to what they presented to me. In light of these experiences, I strongly advise avoiding this auto repair shop. It embodies the stereotypical cautionary tales about dishonest mechanics.

I had a sudden car issue (turns out I needed a new alternator) and Mike was able to squeeze me in the same day. Very fair prices and great communication. No one likes a big car bill, but I ll happily give them my business. Definitely will be back for other inevitable car needs!

Its hard finding an honest mechanic nowadays. Ever since I moved to Utah ive been going to Slaughs. If your looking to give your business to a local honest mechanic who doesnt beat around the bush and takes care of your car. Slaughs car care is the place for all your repair needs.

I initially chose Slaugh's because they were nearby, local, and had good reviews. I am happy to report that my experiences over the past several years have all been excellent.They have diagnosed and fixed issues that other places have said they did the same, but didn't. They have given me honest opinions about questions I have had or let me know about potential issues they have noticed while taking care of something else, and the one time I had to visit multiple times for an issue (which was non-critical), they were accommodating and didn't charge.Great work!

We took my wife s car in to have the brakes replaced. The car has 93,000 miles and we thought surely they d be due to be replaced but they told us the brakes were in fine shape. It s nice to have an honest mechanic that we can go to. Good for oil changes and conveniently located but hard to work with, pricy and use scare tactics to get people to make repairs. Definitely go somewhere else if you need any kind of vehicle inspection.Took my car here for an oil change and pre-trip inspection. I shared some information about a vibration I was feeling. Staffer looked at me like he couldn't wait for me to be gone from his shop while I was explaining the issue. The shop communicates almost exclusively over the phone, making it hard to get anything in writing for later reference and your records. I did not receive any notes for the inspection, but they flagged a couple issues, including an issue with the driveshaft, which they claimed could result in the car being "catapulted" if the part were to fail while the car was in motion, and quoted $1000 for the repair.I asked for the quote in writing, as well as a quote for a second issue they had identified, and only received one. A second opinion from a different mechanic suggested that the driveshaft failing was unlikely to be as dangerous as they suggested, even if the car were in motion, and quoted me ~$400 to repair the issue.The inspection also failed to notice that the jack stand handle was missing from the spare tire compartment, as well as a couple burnt bulbs and suspension issues. Based on the in and out odometer readings on their invoice, they also did not test drive the car, meaning that their "inspection" was mostly a diagnostic of the problem I had laid out for them. $100 for me to do much of the job for them.I would take my business elsewhere, and would be especially careful if you have less experience with cars, since they seem willing to pounce on that.Services: Vehicle Inspection, Oil change

We came into Slaughs with our Subaru after being told by another auto repair business that we needed 7,600 in repairs. Slaughs looked at it thoroughly and said it needed 170.00 in repairs! The repair done by Slaughs cost less than the 200.00 diagnostic charge we paid the other place! I won't take our cars anywhere but Slaughs from now on. Honest, and reliable. I usually don't leave reviews unless I think they're warranted, and this place absolutely deserves all of the positive praise it gets. I've had some issues with my car recently and they were able to figure it out quickly and got me back on the road in no time. They also are extremely friendly and clearly care a lot about their customers and every time I've been to Slaugh's has been a very pleasant experience. Thank you Mike and the entire Slaugh's Car Care team for everything you do!

Fixed an issue in my car that a couple of other auto shops were not able to correctly diagnose, and saved me a lot of money fixing what was a much simpler issue than what the other places told me. Grateful to have a shop nearby where they know what they're doing. Also got an oil and transmission fluid change and had no issues. Overall professional and friendly service. These guys are the best taken my jeep liberty there for 7 years, just got a new Tacoma and plan on taking it there until it dies. One of my best experiences at a car repair shop. I went in with the check engine light on and they were very efficient in getting the ignition coils replaced after giving me a quote. Price was understandable and the service was personable and friendly.

I have been bringing my vehicle here for repairs for almost 10 years and they do excellent work. I won t go anyplace else for repairs. They give good service and are extremely trustworthy. My car died and I didn t have a mechanic here, so I m very grateful my frantic SLC mechanics google search brought me to Slaugh s. Mike was incredibly nice and easy to work with throughout this process, gave me realistic promises and followed through and had the car fixed when he said he would. Anything breaking unexpectedly is always a stressful experience, but Slaugh s made this about as painless as it could have been. Mike and Chris are excellent to work with. They always call with an update on the situation and confirm next steps. They do great work (never had an issue ever) and they complete work when they estimate they will. I genuinely trust their shop. 10/10 recommend if you're looking for someone you can trust with your vehicle.

This place ain't cheap! In fact they ask top dollar for their work - but that's just it - they do top-notch work! Well worth the sticker-shock. Been coming here for about 20 years now and they've never steered me wrong. My Mom was probably coming here 20 years before me. She recently passed away or I'd ask her. She turned me on to them before the Olympics came here and I have been a loyal customer ever since. It seems a lot of their customers feel the same way.. I see a lot of familiar faces almost every time I go. Expensive? Yes, but for the quality of workmanship and honest repair quotes you get it will save you $ in the long term.

Mike was great from Slaugh s Car Care. We had just flown into SLC from vacation but couldn t go home because our car started acting weird. The first place we called said they were booked until after Thanksgiving. Mike had a full garage already but because we were from Idaho and needed to get back. He made it a point to squeeze us in, guaranteed that he d have it fixed by 5:00 that night and get us back on the road. This won me over immediately. He was very helpful informing me about what was wrong and got our car fixed within a few hours. The price was reasonable, considering our situation we couldn t really go somewhere else, but i was fine with the cost. Didn t try to up sell me or anything. I d recommend them again to people looking for a great mechanic.

Moved here from Texas and the Utah cold killed my battery. Driver from AAA didn't have needed replacement battery on truck so he recommended Slaugh's. Great recommendation! Slaugh's was able to replace my battery in no time and even tested the old one to ensure that was the issue before charging me for new one. Staff were very nice and professional. Mike (the owner) was there and knew his regular customers by name. Will definitely go back if future car work is needed
