John and his staff are completely honest and straightforward. They rarely have made any mistakes in years of taking cars there, and on those few occasions, they always made it right. John is able to diagnose and repair at great rates no matter the vehicle-- my old Toyota van, my brand new Honda, even my VW and my Volvo.

Kruger Auto repair is a place I have gone to and trusted for years. I have referred several friends here. John has been honest and reliable. He has looked at my car more than once, fixed minor issues and has not charged me for it. He does his best to get clients in as soon as he can and does good work. John is one of the most enjoyable and trustworthy mechanics with whom I have had the pleasure to work. He is polite, efficient , true to his word and has saved me a lot of $$ when given other estimates. I've been coming back to this shop for the past 3 years and I'm greatly satisfied by the quality of both customer service and repairs. John unlike many other mechanics is very sincere and honestly tells you what repairs you actually need, so you don't spend your money on bunch of unnecessary stuff. If you still use a dealership, then John and his crew without a doubt would be a huge upgrade. They give amazingly high quality of service for less money, plus very personable approach and you can be confident that your car's issues will be properly spotted and taken care of. You can trust John and his crew to do their job professionally and not worry that something wasn't done properly or that something is not as it should be. If you want to be happy about all the aspects of the service and never look for other car shop again then this is the place to go!

I have been coming to John Kruger for all my automotive needs for years now. He is honest, has integrity, takes great car of my cars and is reasonably priced. Even when I lived in Washington State I would have John service my car when I was in town on holidays. I have recommended many people to his shop and they have all had great experiences. He is the only person I will take my cars to because I trust him and know that I will be well taken care of.

We have been taking our cars to John for years. John has replaced a timing belt, brakes, oil changes and diagnosed a check engine light error. John is honest and does great work. He gives us options on what repairs are urgent and which ones can wait. In addition, John has helped us decide which cars we should buy. I have had John Kruger and his team work on my vehicles for the past six years. John and his team have really stepped up when I needed their help, like rushing a repair just before the July 4th holiday a few years ago so that we could get to our holiday destination safely.This is an honest shop. John and his team always step through the repairs and maintenance that they will be performing and give me the price before they begin. It's also great to get their honest analysis, which sometimes means that there is no problem to fix at all.If you care to keep your cars running well for a long time, this is a great place to keep them serviced.

John Kruger Automotive is a fantastic shop. I own several vehicles and take all of them to John. This says a lot as I have an automotive background and have worked on my own vehicles for years. Beleive me when I say I am picky about who I will allow to work on my own cars. John knows what he is doing, he is straight with you on diagnosing issues, and does quality work. This shop is not the cheapest in town but they do quality work, use good parts, and stand behind their work. I've been a customer for two years and been very happy with the service that I have received. I highly recommend them.

Stopped by for a used car inspection - great experience. Found a rebuilt title car that seemed to have very little damage - John was able to point out several issues and potential issues after only looking over the car for a few minutes. Gave his advice on several other models I was considering. Whole visit took less than 20 minutes and he seemed like a really honest guy. Inspection was about $60 with tax. For any standard repairs would come back here with no hesitation.

I visited John Kruger Automotive on the advice of a couple of friends. I'm thrilled with the service they performed. It was a fair price, they did good work, the did it quickly and I didn't feel like I got ripped off like you do often in the car repair world. I'm so excited to know of a place like this and to have a go to mechanic. I highly recommend. I'd give them a '6' if I could!

John Kruger is, by far, the most honest auto mechanic we've ever known. He always goes above and beyond to deliver high quality work and stellar customer service. There are two things you can always count on with John: a fair price and 100% honesty. Those are two things you don't usually find in an auto mechanic. 2000/10 experience. John's honest and really looks at root issues of cars so you don't need to address it again. He thoroughly explains what's going on and is there to help. After negative experiences at other shops, he empathized and diagnosed my car issues quick and communicated throughout the entire time my car was at the shop. I can't say enough about him and am so grateful I know about him! He really knows cars - he gives advice and can point out potential future issues or things to look for. He should be everyone's auto mechanic.Service: Brakes

John Kruger is great! I've been to John a bunch of times now both for my car and my truck. He's always very friendly and helpful, and honest too. His prices are good, and he always lets me know what the cost will be before he starts work.

Took a used car in that I was thinking of purchasing. Mr Kruger is very experienced and very nice (said he would do a second used car inspection for free). I have done all my own work on my cars for about 4 years (including exhaust manifold replacements, replacing alternators, starter motors, valve adjustments) so I know a little bit what I'm talking about. But wow, this guy knows his stuff. Best $50 (60?) I ever spent, saved me a nightmare by telling me EVERYTHING that was wrong with the car!

John Kruger Automotive has been the best place to take our Hondas and Subaru. Excellent service, timely turn around when they have done repairs, thorough and honest. I have always taken my cars to the dealer but now I bring them here because the attention to my car is excellent.

I have been using John Kruger for my automotive needs here in Salt Lake City for the last 10 years, and I have never been disappointed. Their team of auto mechanics are very knowledgeable and trustworthy. They always consult with me before they do any work and let me know how much it is going to be. I have no concerns taking my car or truck to their shop to get all my automotive repairs and general maintenance work done. I would and have recommended them to all my friends.

I highly recommend John Kruger Automotive! John and his crew diagnosed and repaired the problems with my car in a correct and timely fashion. But, what really impressed me was John's honesty, integrity and overall character. I am completely ignorant in all car-related topics. He could have said, "Your car has X problems and you need to pay thousands of dollars to get your car fixed." In my desperation, I probably would have paid him and been ripped off. However, he did not. John cares more about serving his customers than lining his pockets with more cash. I have been to John Kruger Automotive multiple times. Some repairs have cost more than others, but I knew that each bill that I received was fair and correct for the parts and services that were rendered.

I have been bringing my vehicles to John Kruger Automotive for over a decade. They have always been honest, reasonably priced and friendly. Most recently John Kruger Automotive replaced the oxygen sensor in my Suburban. If there is one word that would describe this shop it would be honest. I have and will continue to recommend this shop to my family and friends.

Was VERY impressed with John and his shop today. I Have just recently moved to Salt Lake from Boise Idaho and have had trouble looking for an honest mechanic. I think I have found my guy. He was very understanding and was willing to squeeze me into his extra tight schedule for a small fix. I normally dont like taking my car to a shop, I like fixing things on my own. But I live in an apartment and dont always have room for the needed tools. They took car of me in a timely manner and at a very low price. I HIGHLY recommend John Kruger and his crew. Thanks John!

John has restored my trust in mechanics, he is honest and caring, he really knows how to take care of his customers. He is definitely not your average mechanic, he really goes above and beyond. Plus his prices are affordable, which is an added bonus!

I have been more than impressed by this shop time and time again. John is an expert at finding the real issue with your vehicle, he has saved me so much compared to the other shops I visited in the past. Before I found Kruger Automotive, I dreaded and hated mechanics, I would have never thought I would offer one a tip, and I wish John would have took it. I love this place, no job too big, whole front end replacement on a silverado 2500, and no job to small like my wife's $56 fix on her mazda 6.

I am very impressed with John Kruger Automotive and their expertise! If you need a mechanic you can trust, this is definitely the place to go to. John is first and foremost a very kind person and on top of it all he is very honest and will not try and make you do unnecessary repairs and charge you for them, but will help you get your car back on the road with the repairs that are only necessary at the time.My alternator went out so I went to John to replace it for me and had him look at a few other problems I was having (popping/clicking noises coming from my front passenger side tire when I made turns, and leaking oil from somewhere that I could not find and the people at Jiffy Lube did not know either). While he was working on my alternator he looked at the other problems and found that the clicking popping was coming from my CV joint that was failing. He looked at the other side and saw that it was almost about to start do the same thing. He advised to have them both replaced and of course many of you are probably thinking typical mechanic, however, when he looked at the oil leak he said that where it was coming from would require him to open up a lot more areas which would require more work and more time and he recommended not to worry about the leak because the leak was so minimal and it isn't causing any damage at this time. He said that my timing belt would need to be changed in about 60,000 miles (my car is at 146000 right now) anyway and that would be the best time to figure out the leak because he would already need to be up in there anyway.So I know long story and a lot of ranting, but seriously he is an awesome mechanic that will not try and sell you on things that you don't need at the time and wants to get you back on the road as soon as possible. I would highly recommend going to John Kruger Automotive if you need any repairs for your vehicle!!!

I have been taking my car here for about 4 years. My experiences have been as positive as possible with auto repair. John and his group have worked with my schedule and have been honest and candid with their advice (at times advising me not to have something done). They have also been willing to spend time answering my questions before they do anything to my car. I've felt informed and in control of all the work they have done. I recently had my truck worked at this shop and the service was top notch and the price was very reasonable. I was quoted a reasonable price for some suspension work. I had to leave town right after I left the truck at the shop and didn't return for a couple days. When I did return I found out that John had been able to source the necessary parts at a cheaper price (due to being able to wait a little longer to get the job done) unbeknownst to me and therefore he charged me less than he quoted me. I'm definitely bringing my business to John again, I have not found this level of integrity, honesty and workmanship in many places, let alone at a reasonable price.

I was referred to John Kruger Automotive by a friend and ever since, his shop has been essential to keeping my business's small fleet of vehicles on the road. He turns around repairs quickly and at a fair price. He also explains mechanical problems in a way that non-mechanical people can understand, keeping me feeling informed as repairs are made. I now highly recommend John Kruger Automotive to my friends for their vehicle repair needs.

I brought my Honda Civic in after a car accident and Kruger Auto fixed all the damage at an amazing price. Over the year, my car had other problems not related to the car accident, and Kruger's mechanics knew the fastest and least expensive way to get things done. I wouldn't take my car or any future cars anywhere else. These guys are amazing.UPDATE: 08/12/2014 I had my yearly inspection, an oil change, and fluids flushed. It was quick and easy. I dropped my car off, and a couple hours later I was on my way. Another great experience doing business with J. Kruger.

The best mechanic! There is a reputation for mechanics that they can't be honest but this John Krugar is honest, reliable and affordable. Whenever I need work done on my car he's cheaper than anyone else quotes me and does it in a timely manner.

John Kruger Automotive is the ONLY auto shop I go to and always will. I always recomend him and his staff to everyone who ask me who should they take their auto to. Why because John and his crew do the best job in Utah and they give you the best price and they are the most honest shop I know of. I recomend if you are looking into taking your car or truck to him he is the one you will want to take care of it. I have known John for several years and he has always treated his customers like family and is always honest with you and also recomends what you should do. There are so many things I can say about John Kruger Auto but there is no point all I can really say is trust me and just go give it a try you won't regret it you will be so happy with what he can do for you and you will always love going back to them. Thank you to John Kruger and crew for all they have done for myself and my family. I even have my company trucks go to him to get work on so anyone with a company and has trucks to be work on he is the BEST in town and will make you happy. So what are you waiting for?...
