Great people, great service, great mechanics, and awesome transmission builders! I've got over 3000 hard miles, some of it pulling a camper, not one hiccup, not one problem. They even caught a major problem I was unawate of and fixed it, preventing me from being stranded or worse, destroying my transmission and possibly my engine. A really good experience, after many bad experiences at other shops. These guys will do what they say they will.

Bob and Jimmy are so knowledgeable, and their inventory is great. They stand behind what they sell, and are so personable. I highly recommend them!

These guys replaced the differential bearings in my truck, after 8,000 miles, the side adjuster lock bolt backed out, caught the ring gear and punched a hole in my differential cover making a huge mess and downing my truck. This could only have happened if they forgot to tighten the bolt. Mistakes happen, as a fleet maintenance manager, I completely understand that, but all of the shops I take my fleet to stand behind their work.I gave them two chances to make it right: The first guy I talked to tried to deflect the problem during the whole conversation saying that it was probably a sheared bolt from the ring gear because that's a common failure and then it wouldn't be their problem. If it's a known common failure, why wouldn't they have suggested I fix it while they had it??The second guy was a little more helpful and seemed more concerned about the problem, said he would try to find me a new cover and talk to their differential guy about the possibility of the side adjuster backing off and call me back, I never heard from him and didn't have time to play phone tag. When I do this for work, shops will send a tow truck to pick up the vehicle, fix it correctly and bring the truck back, these guys wouldn't do that, they don't stand behind their work when they make a mistake.I will not be bringing my personal vehicles back there and they've lost the business of the fleet that I manage.

These guys are probably one of the best mechanics shops I have ever encountered . Not only are they very honest, but they will also do what they can to resolve any issue as cheaply as possible. It's rare that I give a five-star rating, but this company has truly earned it.

Transmission went out on my '07 Avalanche. Bummer, right? Called around. My mechanic was 2 weeks out and since this was my daily driver, no-go. Another business quoted me at $47-5300 for the transmission alone, another $11-1300 in labor. Called down to ITE as an idea from my father-in-law. Said all the guys he knows use them and it wouldn't hurt to check em out. Out the door, it was $3300. Staff was great. Got my truck back really quick. Highly recommend.Service: Transmission replacement

They fixed the mounts on my 05 Camry and were able to promptly tell me a time frame and the work was finished in that time. They also replaced a CV which needed to be done. However they did not fix the initial issue of grinding or address what was causing it. Spent a tiny amount over $1000 for the issue I brought it in for not to be fixed.

Several issues that ended up having to be done by another transmission shop months later. My car started having issues while I was in SLC although I didn't live there. The first time they worked on it, they didn't put transmission fluid back in my car and let me drive off back to Provo without it. I started having engine issues and ended up going to a local mechanic and had to pay for him to tell me that was the issue. The initial problem came back a few weeks later. When I brought it back to them, they said that there was another part that needed to be replaced. It took days each time I brought it to them when they told me it would only take the day. A few months later the problem came back and I brought it to a local transmission shop and they told me the wiring job was done so poorly, it was just a matter of time for it to go out.Service: Transmission

Disappointing experience. I gave them a call and setup an appointment for the next week. When I dropped off my vehicle, which had a transmission issue, they were friendly and seemed competent with potentially fixing what was happening. To my disappointment, it took two days to even look at the vehicle, despite having a scheduled appointment. And their diagnosis was essentially what I told them was wrong with the vehicle.I had to call every day for updates to try to get the ball rolling but it just sat for days with nothing getting done. I talked with multiple techs but they seemed to not be communicating with each other, with nothing happening. Only received a generalized transmission repair estimate for the work I suggested they do.Then when I decided enough time had passed with no results, I picked up my car, and they tried to charge a diagnostic fee, having diagnosed nothing.I left them my car for a week, with nothing diagnosed and no work done. With a scheduled appointment, I expected more work to be done. Instead, I felt like I was babysitting them to try to get the work done to my car.

Incredibly knowledgeable! Detail oriented, patient, and super funny to talk to. I ve had a variety of different problems the past year from a 07 avalanche, to a 59 Chevy Viking. These guys have an answer. I called in 4 months about a transfer case rebuild, and they were able to pull up notes backdated to then. Mind blowing.

They replaced my transmission in my Ranger when it suddenly went out. There is a lot of shops the can "rebuild" a transmission, that'd last you a decent amount of time, but these guys knew what, and how to upgrade to avoid certain fail points on the transmission they rebuilt for me. I was impressed by the quality of work, time frame, and communication.Service: Transmission

Granted I haven't even gotten my transmission back yet, these guys are awesome. I'll be one of the first to admit that I don't know much about transmissions. I called in and chatted with Jimmy for 10 minutes who eventually told me that I should work with Bob because he is the resident expert on the specific transmission I was looking to have built. I called a couple days later and had a very education and helpful conversation with Bob. I dropped my transmission off this morning and they took the extra time to make sure I had a say in all the details and even offered some pitfalls to avoid. It takes a lot to make me feel warm and fuzzy and these guys did it more than once.

Couldn't have asked for a better experience. We are from out of state and our car started acting up and we happen to be close by to them. I called and explained our problem and although they were incredibly busy Bob made time to get us in right away to diagnose the problem. It turned out to be something very simple and I had us fixed in on the road in no time. Incredibly honest and I would definitely recommend.

In mid October, I brought in the axle of my 2002 tacoma to have a wheel bearing and ABS ring pressed on. 2 weeks later, when I retrieved the axle and reinstalled it in my car, I noticed that the abs ring had been pressed in too far, causing an oil leakage the problem I was originally trying to resolve. A few days later, when I noticed the leak, I brought the axle back in, and indicated the distance to which the abs ring needed to be pressed, so it could properly seal the wheel bearing from the differential fluid.2 weeks later after not hearing back about the status of my axle, I gave them a call. They said it was ready for me. I came back to the shop and found that they had replaced the bearing kit with a new kit that was 10x more expensive than the one I originally brought in, and they pressed it in too far again!I spent the next 3 weeks going into the shop 3-5 times a week to try to get them to move the ring into the spot I requested and even marked the spot on the axle. They finally (November 24) moved it too far out, damaged the wheel bearing, and damaged my axle trying to move the abs ring. So in conclusion, after 7 weeks of keeping my car out of commission, they couldn t press the abs ring into the right spot, and I m back where I started.

Brought in my truck with 185k miles on it for a checkup, expecting to have bad news. They gave it a checkup and sent me home with a clean bill of health. So many mechanics would have taken advantage and tried to sell me something, but they were fully honest with me. Will definitely recommend ITE to anyone!

Best place ever! My husband and I have had issues with our transmission twice. We have a 2008 Mercury Mariner and they are notorious for having transmission problems. We have had the transmission rebuilt and my husband put it back in the second time it had issues they fix the band and put the transmission back in. One day I have the transmission slip. I called and Jimmy was amazing they took the car in right away even with their busy schedule ran tests and did everything they could to make sure that there is no issues with it. As a woman talking to jimmy I wasn't treated like I didn't know what I was talking about or taken advantage of like I have been in the past (at different places) totally felt comfortable. If you are having transmission problems in my opinion this is the best place you can go. Jimmy was amazing! Professional kind and definitely someone you can trust. Thank you everybody intermountain transmission and thank you Jimmy for being so polite and helping us out.

Bought my daughter a car. With in 20 miles the check engine light came on. After a few other mechanics giving outrageous bids to troubleshoot the issue, I was referred here. Dropped off the car within two days they called me to let me know if was the transmission and that they had located one, the price, the expected time frame to have it fixed, etc. Their price was less than half of the what the others were to start diagnostics. True to their word and time frame, had it done and back to us!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I was able to get an appointment fast. They did a full transmission oil change and service (removes the pan and inspected) and came in slightly cheaper than their initial quote. Parking is an issue here, but it s worth it. Another name-brand shop wanted 40% more to do the same thing. I ll be back here for my next service.

I went to go see them because I was having issues with my transmission not shifting properly. They replaced my transmission as affordably as possible, and worked with my extended warranty to get it covered. I really felt like they were looking out for me and making sure that I got the best result possible. I will definitely be going to them for regular service!Service: Transmission

I fell like they are priced a little higher than usual for comparable parts parts. However they set the standard for service and knowledge and i dont mind paying more for that! I usually deal with Jimmy for my transmission, clutch and transfer case needs and he never disappoints.

It's so hard to find an honest garage, but this one sure seems to be. They rebuilt my transmission quickly without any surprises or additional costs. Seems like most of their business is wholesale, so they don't have a nice retail store front. They don't have a waiting room because they don't do small repairs and maintenance, they do mainly transmission and engine rebuilds and such.I've dealt with many garages over the years and this has been the only one where I've left certain that the job was done right and that I didn't pay more than I should have.

Update: After getting fed up with the whining from my diff. I opened it myself, bought the tools to verify the work and found out that ITE did not correctly set my backlash. My differential is supposed to be between .008"-.012" backlash. After checking, mine is at .023" almost double the specified limit. I will be correcting my own backlash. Downgrading to 1 star because of how bad the backlash was.TL;DR: If you want to wait a long period of time for work that shouldn't take more than 4 hours and you want to have it done twice and still not have it be functioning correctly this is the place for you. If differentials are "all they do" they sure don't know how to do them correctly.Initially was recommended to take my vehicle here to have the rear end rebuilt. I had purchased my own gear set and installation bearings and had them replace the axle shafts. Upon delivery of my car I was told it would take them about a week to have the work completed including the waiting for axle shafts. They suggested they would call me when the work was done. After a week and 2 days I called in to see where my car was and told that they had finished it days ago and were waiting for me to pickup. I arrived to collect my vehicle and followed the break in procedure for the rear end. Unfortunately the rear end whined, where it did not before. As well as my abs light being on. After a quick call to ITE they instructed me this was normal and to drive on it until the break in period was up. There is no break in period for whine on differentials. I scheduled an appointment to have them re-do the rear end, I expected this to be quicker but no. I waited another week and received the car in the same condition I left it. In regards the the ABS light, whoever worked on my car smashed the abs sensor on re installation, which was $100 out of pocket on top of the $800 dollar shafts, labor, and fluids, plus the $250 I spent on my own gear set. Not satisfied.

I needed some transmission work done on my truck. After taking it to certified transmission and them quoting me around $700 I took it here and they were honest and fixed the problem for around $350. I would highly recommend to anyone. This all happened the summer of 2011. Thanks again! my truck is running great!!!
