I always bring my car here because they're friendly, helpful, and honest. I've brought in my car for an oil change only for them to tell me I have plenty of miles left and I don't need it yet - I'll always visit a shop when they're up front and don't just try to take my money!

Stopped by Oil Rig Provo today because a friend recommended them. All of the guys working Tuesday morning were very helpful, trustworthy, and professional. I felt very good leaving my car in their hands, especially because other mechanics at other places have tried to take advantage and upsell on things I don t need in the past. I don t normally leave reviews but it was a really good experience. Give these guys a raise!!

This place was recommended by a friend and I have never been disappointed. They are every polite, no pressured sales. Last time I went for an oil change I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. There waiting room had great WIFI and free drinks. I ll be going here as long as I live in the area.

He changed our oil, our air filters, and serviced our transmission all within 45 minutes or so. Good and quick service. We will definitely be back.

Chill place, cool friendly staff. Go here for your car needs instead of Big O Tires. Got my oil changed here and emissions inspection and everything went quickly and smoothly.

This place has been awesome for me over the past couple years. The guys are super knowledgeable and helpful, and the pricing has felt fair. Today I went in to have them check a couple things and they provided answers/guidance and even topped off my transmission fluid without charging for anything. Not impressed. I ve been here 2 different times and had 2 different issues. Mechanic - maintenance shops would be awful hard to run. The guys are all great. My 1st - biggest - issue was we have a ford transit we brought in for a tire rotation. On ford transits or certain vehicles the tire payload is greater in the back than the front. So when you swap the tires you should adjust the air pressure accordingly. This did not happen, and it s an inconvenience to stop in the first place let alone to stop and fix something again. That should be a no brainer. Second issue, much smaller is 2x now the tag for an oil change has been forgotten on my windshield. For me that is super important albeit small. Is there some issue with quality control? Idk if I m too excited to come back. Like I said staff is super nice but I d take competence any day.

The staff is friendly, and also do excellent work at good prices! I brought two cars and one for oil change and another for a radiator replacement excellent service for both jobs. I will be coming back!

I have two commuter cars that we daily. I have been coming here for about 5 years for my cars basic maintenance (brakes, oil changes, filters, ac recharges, registration) no complaints. They ve always been honest and quick.

Edit: Have had mixed experience with them. They quoted me for a part, we re sent the wrong one twice, then once they got the right one it was far more expensive than they quoted me. It also didn t fix the problem I came in for. Another shop said the problem was obvious and fixed it for a much lower price. While the part they fixed may have been needed, they missed something that was apparently simple.Previous experience: These guys are great. I ve gotten my oil changed here twice, and they seem to do a great job. I asked afterward if they could look at my radiator, but he had already seen it, filled up my low coolant, and gave some advice on maintaining my oil. Great experience, it s been making me smile all day.Services: Vehicle Inspection, Oil change

Took my car in because AC had was not working. They said it just needed a freon recharge. Was driving to Vegas later that day and the AC stopped working again just 4 hours into the drive. Took it to a mechanic in Vegas and immediately he could tell I had a hose leaking. Called Oil Rig back and they said there was no leak when they tested it - even though a leak was found 4 hours later and they would not refund me 200 bucks for the Freon charge that lasted 4 hours. Bad experience and their mechanics don't seem like experts compared to other places I have used.

I used to use this place all the time. I liked it so much, and they treated me so well, that I still traveled the extra distance to go to them after I moved. But the past five times that I've taken a car to them, they haven't been nice, and they seem more interested in having no customers there to bog down their day. They just don't seem to care about people who've gone to them for years any more. I don't get it. And I don't think it's just me. It used to be that when I went in, there would be three or four technicians working and at least four cars before mine and I was in and out within thirty to forty-five minutes (they really had their act together). But one time I went in and was told it would be an hour and a half wait and there were no cars in the bays or lots except for what I assume was the one employee's working at the time. Three of the times there was only one car ahead of me and two techs on duty and I was told it would be fifty minutes. One time I was complained to about how the tech on duty wasn't supposed to be working that day because the scheduled tech didn't show up. In each visit, they just didn't have the interest to even have a customer there, so I just smiled and nodded to them and said I'd be back, but just drove somewhere else to get the work done. I don't know what's going on over there. It makes me sad. But they've gone from being my favorite place to a place just not worth being loyal to anymore. Must be under new ownership of someone who simply doesn't care is all I can think of. If they've become that disinterested in their customers, I don't think I'd trust their disinterested intentions under the hood of my car, that's for sure.Service: Oil change

Bright it in for diagnostic, was told it would be $100. Turned out to be an electrical problem, and they don't do electrical so they didn't charge me anything. Would go again. Also $35 oil change? Definitely coming back.

I came in to get my transmission fluid and brake fluid changed. Not only did they give a fair price, but they were incredibly honest. They wouldn t change my brake fluid as it didn t need changed. They could have easily lied and made money off me, but they didn t. Highly recommend, honest and fairly priced. Didn t try to upset me at all!

Such a great experience! We had them test a leak in our car on a Saturday and were in and out super fast. They didn t have the part so they ordered it but replaced it first thing Monday morning, again super fast. They even waived the fee for the testing we did when they did the repair. These guys were easy to work with and had fair pricing. Will definitely come back!

I ve been going to The Oil Rig for a year now, and I have to say that I absolutely love them, and I would highly recommend everyone go here for their car maintenance needs! My sister recommended I go here and I couldn t be happier she did. Since I bought my first car last year, they ve always been super great about making sure I understood how to best take care of my car, so I feel like I know what I m doing (which is great). Also, the prices just don t miss. It has been great to feel like I can properly take care of my car and keep it affordable, which fits my college lifestyle ahaha. So far, I ve mostly just done oil changes and emission tests, but when I found out I could register my car here as well (as it is an On the Spot location for Utah Vehicle Registration), I was ecstatic. They just make everything so much easier to manage, and I would recommend this place for everyone!

I always take my car here for oil changes and they consistently do a great job. Today, my splash guard started dragging on the ground. They fixed it with zip ties in less than five minutes and didn t charge us anything! We will always go to Oil Rig.

Super overpriced. Charged me 7$ for every extra quart of oil brining my total price for a full synthetic oil change close to 90$. I ve never ever paid for an oil change including the extra quarts any more than $70. Also, I thought it was supposed to be fast, in and out, especially since I was the only person there, but I waited for more than an hour. Will def not come back again. I only went there because the places I normally go to were all booked for the day and my oil was way past its change date and mileage. Then they told me that a new air filter would be 25$ but that he d be able to take 5$ off. I agreed to get it. However, he then came back to tell me that my car needed a bigger fielder they didn t have on hand and would need to be brought in. It would cost $38 and he wouldn t be able to give me any discount on it. I wish he would have known what kind of air filter my car needed before giving me an inaccurate quote and having me agree to a different/lower price. I was able to pretty much beg him for some sort of discount and after telling me he couldn t do a thing, he told me oh yeah, if you re a first time customer I can give you 10% off . That saved me about 10 bucks, but still left paying more than I ever have for an oil change. Overall, just not a great experience.Service: Oil change

I will never go to another shop after my experience here! I called at 4pm on a Friday for a last minute oil change and not only did they have availability, but they did it in 15 minutes! Incredible. They're super honest and a pleasure to talk to and work with. They don't try to upsell you but give you their honest opinion. They noticed that my brake pads were low and informed me that I had just a few more weeks on them. I went ahead and got them replaced, and they showed me the pads after for full transparency (I didn't need it, I trusted them anyway!)Do yourself a favor and GO HERE!Services: Brakes, Oil change

I ve been going to oil rig for several years now. I had tried them for an oil change once and was impressed with their service. Then, one time I came in and asked them to read the code on my car since the check engine light was on, and the guy who did it did it for free. That really helped garner my respect and my loyalty as a customer.You probably shouldn t go there and expect to get services for free, but know that they ll be considerate and professional on whatever you need done on your car. They changed my oil way faster than any other place I ve gone to, I was in and out in less than fifteen minutes! The price was relatively similar to other places I ve been to, I paid $65 for a full synthetic oil change (good for 5000-6000 miles). They offer a 10% student discount, which was nice! They were friendly, explained everything clearly, and filled the coolant and wiper fluid at no charge, too. Will be coming back here next time!

Take advantage of customers. Went in for emissions and had a check engine light on (it s a sensor issue and nobody can figure out how to make it stay off even dealership). Even though the tech knew they couldn t pass me the second he started the car they still charged me full price for an emissions test even though they did nothing more than look at the dashboard . They could have walked straight bAck and told me it was useless to do a check until that light was off Uncool humans.

Can't say enough good things about Oil Rig! Good prices, fast service, and super helpful and friendly staff. They suggested doing some additional preventative maintenance when I went for an oil change but weren't pushy about it. Would definitely keep getting my oil changes done here. He cleaned out my air filter without charging me also!

I got a recommendation to take my car to Oil Rig from one of my guy friends. I've been so, so glad I did! I found them to be honest in their estimated price and recommended service my car needed. I'm now a regular. The Provo location across from Smith's on Freedom Blvd is where my friend, who doesn't live nearby, said he trusted. They beat price of everyone I called. I didn't have to have an appointment, the staff was friendly, courteous and professional as well as extremely knowledgeable. Oil Rig has my business. I have an older car and little things do happen now and then. It's imperative that I have a automotive service that cares for my car correctly. I recommend them for any make, model or year of your car!

I stopped in here one day because I needed to get a quick oil change, and I don't like going to Jiffy Lube because I always end up spending at least $100.00 by the time they upsell everything. (Sorry, Jiffy Lube, I'm not saying it's not all needed, just that I never really know, and sometimes I feel taken advantage of.) I was so pleased with the quick service and honest info on what my car needed, that I decided to come back with my other cars. We own quite a few cars, and I have taken several of them there now and been super happy with the service each time. In addition to oil changes, they told me they do some repairs, so I had them do the rear AC on our Suburban, which they did quickly and for a very reasonable price. AC repairs can be outrageous, so I really appreciated that! Then today, they said registration would be due soon, so I let them do the emissions and inspection, which again they did quickly and did not try to sell me tires, brakes or anything else I didn't need. (I don't t think they sell tires, but who knows?) What I did need was a few of the lights replaced, which again they did quickly and for a great price, after which they did the on the spot renewal, and even put the stickers on my car. That was the first time in year's I have let a repair shop do my emissions/inspection because I got so sick of the up-selling .It's going to be sweet when the reminder card comes in the mail, and I already have that taken car of! On top of all this they have a clean waiting room with decent magazines on the table. Go here. You'll like it.

I went in for an oil change. I chose this place because there were so many mentions of quick service in the reviews. It was very quick and the employee that assisted me was kind and helpful. The couches were comfortable and it was nice and air-conditioned. I appreciated that they didn't try to recommend tons of other repairs for my junky car, I was able to just get what I needed. I will definitely recommend them to others and come back to them in the future.
