We took our truck in, check came out good and they said it was 100%. 2 weeks later transmission was gone, dead, and we were in California....Took our SUV in, everything was good 100%, 2 weeks later our transmission is over heating and now we need to change the fluid again, and be charged for everything again....Coincidence?! I think not...Just got word from another transmission shop that when Aamco changed our transmission fluid on our Ford expedition (SUV) they over filled it. Which is the reason it's been over heating! Hundreds of dollars later all because someone was careless and over filled the fluid... Thanks...

I'm so glad that I went with this company to repair my transmission. Dave, the owner is such a kind person and very helpful. My truck runs great!! I'm going to use them for other things concerning my vehicle. They are trustworthy and honest!

Had an issue where I was quote by another business a cost that seemed really high. I took my vehicle to Aamco for a second opinion and it really felt like they were just telling me the truth and were honest about what was going on. They fixed it for 1/2 the cost of the other estimate and the vehicle has run perfectly. Really east to work with and really appreciate them.

We are very pleased with the service we received from AAMCO. We needed our front brakes changed and our engine mounts repaired. We were able to get our car in quickly and have the work done in one day. There were no surprise charges and no pressure to get any additional work done. They seemed to be genuine and honest in their diagnostics. Dave the front desk/phone guy is friendly and calm to work with and patient with difficult customers. However as many times as I would ask for a estimate of how long it would take til they were done, it always was another day additional than quoted. I expect they have limited techs and working with cars on a first come basis isn't the most efficient way to get all cars in and out as expected but they are very thorough it seems and we're patient with my repeatedly calling back. Just expect or plan on two days more than what they say to get things done. I will however, be going back again. I like how genuine and thorough and low cost they were.

Dave is the best mechanic! He's trustworthy and honest. I took my car to several other mechanics and finally found one that I trust. He takes good care of my car and you can't beat the prices. I've taken my car to get fixed twice and they were able to find exactly what was wrong and fix it in 24 hours. Dave took the time to give me a second opinion. He was firm in pushing back on the diagnosis I was being sold at another shop. Turns out the control module could be replaced for a fraction of the cost of a full transmission rebuild on my 2007 Mazda 3. Pleasure to work with!

Oil was leaking fast from my wife's car. They got us in right away. I offer to have them complete service if price was under $300. Their policy is to call me no matter what they repair. So we left. They called a short while later and indicted the oil filter had a hole in it. Repair $23. Obviously they could have made the repairs to appear much more complex. Dave the owner is honest to a fault. It doesn't matter if the repair is $23 or $2300 so long as it is a true reflection of work performed. Trusting your mechanic is extremely valuable in today's world. I highly recommend AAMCO in Provo!

I was really impressed with the service here. Much more affordable than the dealership and they only recommended what I actually needed. No problems with the vehicle since my visit over a month ago. I ll definitely go back.

I am very pleased with my experience at AAMCO PROVO, UT. My suburban had major transmission problems. I called a dozen places here locally, and Dave at AAMCO was the only one (no exaggeration) who insisted I bring my vehicle in to be looked at before he quoted me a price. He ended up recommending a full rebuild, but he explained everything clearly, and I m confident I paid a fair price. And they had it done very quickly, which is just as important to me as price. I highly recommend these guys. Very pleased.

I had specific requests in the repair of the transmission on my 2011 Ford F150. Dave at Provo AAMCO fullfilled every request and respected my wishes to use specific transmission fluids and parts that I wanted. I felt he actually listened which seems rare these days. Dropped the car off for diagnostics and transmission fluid change on Thursday. Sent approval for the work via email on Friday and was told it would be done that day. Called Monday and they hadn t even started the service. Was then told it would be a day or two from then. Very unorganized. Picked my car up and took it to a different shop that day. Amazing experience every time we go. They are great to work with and very honest mechanics. They provide excellent service and are competitive on price. Dave is very friendly and alway honest about any problems with you car. I have recommended them to anyone. I have tried quite a few different mechanics in the area and Dave and his team are by far the most reliable.

Best experience I've had at a repair shop. My car was making this clunking one day like it would not shift gears and so I called a few places to try and get in the next day. AAMCO was the only place that had a spot available day of to look at my car. They checked it for free right away but then said they would need to do a deeper inspection to diagnose the issue. He assured me the transmission fluid looked good though, so I at least knew it wouldn't be a transmission replacement. He said he would charge me $95 for the hour inspection and then call me when they knew what was wrong. He said they would know by the end of the day how long my car would need to be in the shop for.He called me less than an hour later (they must've done the inspection right away) and told me that they had found the problem and had already fixed it!! And he told me that it would only cost $47 because it took them half the time they thought it would. Amazing service and great communication. Dave is very honest and will not try to get money out of you. I didn't feel talked down to at all and he made everything make so much sense. I highly recommend AAMCO! I will be coming back!

Dave was amazing! Very honest and knowledgable! He will get all my future car care business. I have an old truck that wasn't running real well, he and his crew were able to diagnose and fix the problem at a very fair and reasonable price and in a very timely manner. I had taken the truck to 2 other mechanics that had not ever been able to get to the root of the problem. They do it all and they do it well.1 year later-Update I took another truck in for a leak on my power steering. I was expecting a large bill for new hoses or a bad power steering pump. It was just a loose connection. They were totally honest and once again have earned my trust. They also did a great job of changing the oil and filter on my diesel truck. They do it all, they do it well, and they are honest. You can trust Dave and his crew to do a great job.Second Update a few years later! I had a problem with my 4 wheel drive not engaging and a loud noise in my engine compartment with my vacuum. These guys were amazing, they got it diagnosed and the part ordered quick, even changed my oil, all at a very reasonable price. These guys will continue to get my business. I recommend them to all of my family members.Third update. Had a problem with my 4 wheel drive, these guys did a great job and never disappoint. You can trust these guys for sure. They get all my car repair and service business.Fourth Update. These guys always do a good job, helped fix a leak on my cooling system on an old vintage car I have. Of all the places I've been to service our cars, AAMCO has quickly become the one I trust fully. They are thorough in their diagnostics, and realistic in sharing what repairs require greater attention and which can wait. They have always been honest in their work and generous in giving us breaks when they can. Dave was professional and quick to get me a quote written up. They re about 30$ less expensive than the Ford dealer I was going to also. I ve had my other vehicles brought here for timing belts and start a replacement and electrical diagnostics. AAMCO is where I will continue to go on ANY transmission related work! Knowledgeable, professional, honest and time sensitive. They were able to get me in within a day or so. I needed a transmission service. My transmission required a specific viscosity type fluid, they happened to have it. My transmission is excellent now! An Honest shop is a big pet peeve of mine. AAMCO is one, many are not. Believe it or not, it s not uncommon to get dishonest shops , rather common actually. So when I find a good one, I stay with them! At the time of check out, the work order was verified. A technician missed a small detail,(drain radiator, flush and refill, it had dirt in it), and I was informed it was not carried out. I m sure it was harder to admit that they d missed something rather than just hope I didn t notice. They informed me, no big deal, I much prefer the honesty. Mistakes happen at all places and this was very minor. Had I not been informed about the small miss, (that the radiator wasn t drained and refilled), then upon next regular maintenance, I would ve assumed a much larger problem was evident and probably replaced my radiator. Thinking maybe dirt got in after I d just had it drained, flushed and refilled. Obviously they didn t charge me for the missed service and apologized several times. Aamco is the best mechanic shop in Provo. I have used many different mechanics but and aamco really is the best. I've used them for many different services from A/C to engine issues and they have always been more than fair with me on price and they have always delivered on their commitments. They recently helped me with an older vehicle and they went above and beyond to find out what the issues were. Dave would call me and walk me through everything they had done to diagnose the issue. When I got the bill, I knew immediately that they didn't charge me for everything they did and that the bill should have been a lot higher. I was really impressed with that level of customer service. I will continue to send them my business and I strongly recommend them to others.

Theses guys are the most honest mechanics I have ever done business with! Dave is very adamant about educating customers on what their car needs; rather than telling you what you need and you have to take their word for it. He takes you back to see your car so you can see what is needed and why. Prices are fair for the work they do. Each mechanic/technician truly cares and does an effective job. I recommend this establishment, 100000000%!

Dave (owner) and John are the two most honest mechanics I have ever met. They do a great job, they let you know honestly how critical things are on your vehicle and don't try and pressure you into fixing things that are not necessarily life and death. They do their best to diagnose the problems and give you a detailed description of what it will take to fix it and what each cost is tied to, whether it be parts or material.I will never go anywhere else, unless of course they can't do what I need done, then they are great to refer their customers to other great, honest shops in the area.

You might think you can't find a truly honest mechanic, but I disagree. It is nice to call and have the owner answer the phone. Dave is great at customer service and always explains what they find out. I have been bringing my cars here for more than 6 years. I know that I am getting excellent work every time I go. I have never had a problem with anything they have fixed. Having older cars they help me to make sure I stay safe for the best price possible. I know that my cars need more work, and I don't feel pressured to get everything done right away. They help me prioritize the repairs that my vehicles need. I am glad that he goes to bat for me to find the best quality parts for the best price. I have a van that is a little odd and I had to get a part replaced that is no longer manufactured. They were able to figure out a solution they kept me on the road and safe. Just this past week I have had my cars tuned up and got them back in under a day. I will continue to use Aamco for as long as I am here.

UPDATE TO 5 STARS: We found ourselves in a bind the day before we needed to leave on a vacation to California. We realized that our vehicle was leaking fluid and needed to get it checked out ASAP. My husband called Dave at AAMCO and he got us in that day. He got all the repairs done the same day and our vehicle was in working condition by the time we needed to go on our trip. We decided to give AAMCO in Provo a second chance and we are so glad we did.PREVIOUS 3 STAR REVIEW:Fixed the drive train and transmission issues and did a good job as far as I can tell, but told me he would keep me posted on price along the way. I told him that I needed an exact amount to get financing. He called me with an estimate of $738, then I called the morning of pickup to make sure it was still the same cost and was told "yes" by the owner. Then when I went to pay I suddenly found out that the total was over $1100 and they forgot to let me know that an additional service had been done. He had told me that they were waiting on a part but he never told me that it had needed to be rebuilt and that it would add to the cost. Up until today, I was very impressed with AAMCO and the owner, Dave, and I was ready to give a 5-star review, but we were blind sided with the added $400 expense.

Came in for the free diagnostic, will be coming back & recommending anyone I know who is having car problems.I heard a rattling in my hood & didn't want to take it in for $180 diagnostic elsewhere because I had a feeling it was a smaller, less expensive problem. I decided to come in for a free diagnostic & I'm so happy that I did. The rattling was a quick $25 fix.However, they also let me know other pressing/less pressing issues (which I had been putting off) going on in my car & gave me the option to have those fixed same day too. I decided to go through with all of it because I didn't feel pressured, the prices were fair, & I could tell they were honest.I really trust them here & I am very happy with their service.Service: Transmission

I felt like Dave went above and beyond to fix my car. The passenger CV axle in my car failed. Another shop said it was fixed on two different occasions, but the replacement axle failed both times. The warranty company I was working with said that I had to take it back to the same shop since the part used was under the shop's warranty not theirs. After being on the side of the road three times in one month, I was frustrated and convinced the warranty company to refund my old claim and start a new claim with AAMCO. The claim was still pending approval, so AAMCO wasn't allowed to install any new parts, but Dave ended up ordering a part from the dealer to test if it would fit. He shipped it back to the dealer until the claim was approved and then had the part shipped back. I haven't had any problems since then! Dave was very patient despite the hassle of working with the warranty company and answering my anxious phone calls. I'm so grateful I found this shop and would highly recommend it!
