Wrongly diagnosed the problems with my truck. They told me I had bad U-Joints when they were totally fine. I was taking the car to a different mechanic (quote was almost $300 less than what these guys were charging) when the transfer case blew up. Thankfully I didn't pay these clowns to do a pointless job, but I'm still pretty disappointed. Paying over $200 for a bad diagnosis is ridiculous. I'm not sure if they are bad at their jobs and actually thought my U-joints were the problem, or if they knew the joints were fine and just wanted to milk me for some cash. Either way it's not what you expect from a respectable shop and they've certainly lost my business. Would recommend staying away.

Not happy with the results. Came in with a radiator leak and was told it was a simple fix with an aftermarket part that will cost approx. $26. As exciting as that sounded it was not to be. The follow on functionality check of the radiator cap was sufficient at idle/low speeds, but the engine temperature did not regulate. I was informed I now needed a new fan clutch and thermostat which cost upwards of $500. So be it, Im stuck in Park City and have little to no other options. When I asked to speak to the tech performing the repairs there were delays because of "translation issues". I have no problem with an ESL employee but there needs to be controls in place for that. "I dont know what he's saying" is not a good look to your customers. Once the repairs were made and the new parts installed we were on the road an hour outside of Park City in Evanston WY when the radiator began spraying coolant again and the engine temperature shot all the way to maximum. Luckily a Dodge dealership was nearby and informed me that the aftermarket part used by Mercer to repair my truck was not sufficient to hold the correct PSI required by the manufacturer for safe vehicle operation. Thankfully the dealership mechanics were able to place the correct radiator cap on that would maintain the correct 16psi limit. We were back on the road and eventually made it to our destination where we discovered that the truck was again not maintaining proper temperature. The mechanic we brought it to said the thermostat was brand new but not functioning correctly and probably installed incorrectly. So, 2 out of the 3 repairs performed by Mercer were incorrect and had to be redone elsewhere. 2 stars because the employees are all polite and professional, the work standards and efficiency were lacking.

Terrible experience, perhaps the worst I ve experienced. Took my car in to have them look into a clunk I was experiencing. After a full day of not hearing from them I finally called in to get oh yeah your car is ready with no explanations. When I arrive the employee I was working with took the rest of the day off without finishing the job and communicating with me or his coworkers about the outcome with the inspection all that was left was a s***y vague hand written note that was poorly delivered to me by a another mechanic that had no idea about the inspection or severity of the problem. After charging me $200 per hour all I received was a receipt (not even itemized, just the shop rate . That s it) it took me going back in after I realized this to get the other tech that had no idea why he was talking about to write me up a report. I was quoted for oil gasket leaks for over $1000; I took to another shop that confirmed that this was not true I feel taken advantage of and lied to. My recommendation is to not take your car to this over priced dishonest shop and get your money worth from a shop with integrity in salt lake. Trust me it will be worth your time to not be hustled by Mercer Automotive of park city.

Fantastic customer service. I took my recently purchased Rover in for a once over. They set all the tire pressures, topped off the fluids etc. Then they wouldn t let me pay . They have earned my future business for sure!

My car broke down on the freeway coming up to Midway and I was forced to get it towed to this establishment. They quoted me approximately $1200 for a new radiator hose and a coolant flush which I didn t need. I got it towed back to my mechanic in SLC and the grand total was $150 to fix my car. These guys are crooks and are only in it for the money. I do not recommend ever to take your car to this place! BEWARE!

Avoid this place unless you have more money than brains. I will never take my car here again. I m sure they just prey on the wealthy in Park City. They charge significantly more than the dealership for even an oil change and don t know what they re doing with BMWs.I am well versed in my car and most of its maintenance along with my 7 other BMWs, but can t do A/C service at home. Thus I brought it here due to their good reviews.They diagnosed my AC as a bad aux fan, tried to charge me a 100% markup on the part and an absurd price for the install that wasn t even going to fix the problem. Then got mad that I wanted a discount . No I wanted the proper price for the fan. But I m glad i told them to stop work. I decided to replace the fan myself as the ac system was (supposedly) charged properly. But guess what, I still have no AC. The aux fan isn t the problem, just a guess.In their diagnosis they stated the coolant was low. They have since overfilled the coolant on my car. I had installed a new water pump and thermostat last year and filled and bled the car properly. Everything has been great and running properly. Always perfect temperature. They said it was not even registering coolant in the radiator. BS. Now I have signs of overflow from the expansion tank after 10 miles of driving and they state that there could be an air bubble. No, they just don t know what they re doing.Matt also tried to tell me there were numerous things with the car that were odd. It s a completely stock car that has been meticulously maintained, mostly at BMW dealerships. Now I have to spend time syphoning off coolant from the expansion tank and re-bleeding the system, which isn t even what I brought the car in for.He claims he wants to make it right, but I don t trust them to work on my car again.

I have never been so pleased by a mechanic shop. Jake and Taylor were absolutely amazing to work with. I will be back to get work done in the future, thankfully my issue was not an emergency and they got me back on the road quickly. I will be sending my family and friends to Mercer!

Got a tail light changed, and they cracked the casing and didn t tell me. It s sitting loosely as well - I can move it around with my hand, which was definitely never the case before. Would love to try and call to get them to fix it, but it s Friday after 5 and their voicemail is full.

My map sensor went out on my 2000 Honda Accord on my way from Arizona to Minnesota. Taylor was very helpful in getting my part . He was knowledgeable, polite and answered the phone and didn't put me on hold ( like the parts store ) I called first. I would recommend the automotive shop to any broke down traveler. Taylor was so kind I think I would bring my car from Arizona to have this shop work on my car.Thank you

The customer service team was friendly and very helpful with the appointment process when I first arrived at the shop. There was an issue with a missing part in the car, and it was resolved while I was in for a follow-up visit. This action prevented me from having to wait and save the waiting time to get my car back.

Traveled up to Park City and my clutch started malfunctioning as I was just leaving late on a Friday. Called Mercer and luckily made it to the shop in time around closing - they quickly figured out I had an internal clutch fluid leak. I needed to get back down to Murray the same night, so they topped up my clutch fluid. Mercer actually did all of this for free too! Told me the fastest/best way to get back down the valley with my problem and saved me from having to tow the car/uber my way back back home. Brought our SUV with no appointment and team quickly and efficiently took care of it. Communicated regularly about the status and was extra careful given we were going to drive from Utah to Seattle. Would highly recommend.

Got caught in rain storm and wipers on the rental car didn t work properly. Wasn t comfortable driving 45 minutes back to airport rental car. Went to Mercer in Park City and was told the blades were shot and he replaced them in five minutes. Excellent, fast and affordable service. We were on a 3500 mile road trip from Austin with a stay over in Park City. We got a check brake wear alert on our Mercedes SUV. The local Mercedes dealerships were very unhelpful and would not help us on an emergency basis; very disappointing.We contacted Mercer Automotive and spoke to Chris who was very understanding of our situation. They were able to obtain the parts and get the brakes repaired the same day. They even kept the shop open late to ensure we got our vehicle back ASAP. Thanks to Chris and the Team!Service: Brakes

Thank you Mercer Automotive! I was on my way to the grocery store (during the Covid-19 pandemic) and another driver notified me that I had a completely flat back tire. I was within a mile of Mercer and drove my car there. I called from the parking lot and Justin was able to take care of me. They had a sanitized loaner car for me to use. I didn t even have to go in the shop. Picking up my car with a repaired tire this afternoon, without contact! So easy!We use Mercer for all of our auto needs. They are really thorough, and great communicators. Justin and Casandra in the office are both really knowledgeable and great problem solvers (timing for drop-offs, ordering parts, loaner vehicles, etc) . I ve never had a problem with the work the mechanics have done.Highly recommend them!

These guys are great and I would highly recommend them. Late Friday afternoon (today) my truck wouldn t start so I had it towed to Mercer auto. They said they couldn t get to my truck until Monday. However, twenty minutes after I left the shop they were calling me to tell me my truck was fixed. Turns out it was a loose battery cable they diagnosed and fixed AND then didn t charge me!! Obviously, great customer service is a way of life at Mercer.

The honesty, integrity, kindness and customer service provided by Justin was extraordinary!!!We traveled up the mountain and noticed the brakes were burning when we came down.We are from Las Vegas, and did not know of any mechanic in town.We called Mercer Automotive and spoke to Justin at 4:30 PM on Thursday. We explained the issue and Justin said to come right over.After doing a spot check, he asked us to come back the following morning so he could do a complete full visual of the brakes on the lift.By 10:30 AM he informed us we did not need new brakes and in fact we still had about 10,000 miles to safely drive.The extraordinary thing about this is that Justin said No-Charge when he was finished You can rest assured that you will be treated fairly and with respect.Service: Engine repair

We had an awesome experience at Mercer! They rushed us in, assisted us quickly, and were super helpful. They tested and retested our car, making sure everything was taken care of, while keeping it affordable for us. Justin was particularly helpful by answering all of our questions and explaining everything to us very clearly. This is easily one of the best mechanic shops we've ever been to - well worth your time and money.

Had a dead battery after returning from vacation. Called Mercer to confirm they had a replacement. Very cordial conversation. Recommended to come to the shop in the afternoon. Arrived and got immediate attention. They pulled the vehicle into a bay and assigned the work within 10 minutes. Completed work and tested in another 15 minutes. Excellent knowledge and interaction. I was on vacation and had an issue with my brakes on a rav 4 and took it to Mercer. At first I was skeptical when I inquired about an oil change and they only gave me 100% synthetic prices but after I asked if they had a blended oil they provided more reasonable pricing. Following that, they looked into the brake issue and notified me within a reasonable time to what was wrong, after research I decided to not go with them but they provided transparent communication on what was wrong and said I should be fine to drive back to the East coast as is. I would recommend this shop if you don t mind paying the Park City premium. Justin the GM provided great service.

Justin at Mercer Automotive gave me a great price on a Subaru head gasket repair. He was really cool towards me and communicated the entire time. Probably the best mechanic experience I've ever had. 10/10 would recommend to a friend and I actually have already. I compared the price he gave me to what other people paid in major cities, and I'm telling you this guy works car miracles.

Brought my vehicle in because I was having an issue with the brakes. Mercer quickly identified the problem and quoted $1150 to fix the issue. I called four other local options whose quotes for the same quality of parts and time frame of work was the same and those quotes ranged from $642 to $835. If you have the option to go elsewhere you can save a few hundred dollars. If you don t they are quality and get away with charging astronomical prices because they are located in a resort community.

Awesome experience. Was in town from AZ and had some concerns about my brakes. They did a visual inspection with no appointment and were super happy to help and provide great peace of mind and an explanation about why I was having the issue. I have nothing but positive things to say about Mercer. I've brought two older vehicles in, one for a find everything that's wrong kind of service and the other for an emergency ( lost power steering).Mercer is responsive, put together and communicative in the repair of your vehicle. Really awesome experience at Mercer Automotive. My exhaust pipe had rusted out and broke in the middle and my car was really loud so I took it in and talked to Dave and he found the part I needed and told me they would have it by the end of the day. Once they got the part they got the exhaust on really quickly and A LOT cheaper then I expected. While they were under my car they noticed my rear tires were really worn and had wires sticking out so they recommended I replace them and called a local tire store and priced it out. I agreed after they took me out in the shop and showed me how bald my rear tires were. They even went as far as to go pick the tires up right then and had them back within 15 minutes and had them on my car and out the door. Dave and Justin were very professional and easy to work with. Thanks for all your help Dave!
