These guys do amazing work, they are very friendly. I had them do my motorcycle engine two years ago, they did an amazing job and were very fast. I just needed to get some valve covers cleaned to put on a new engine. They did them overnight and did such a great job and didn't even charge me.These guys do great work, are too notch. Look here first for machine work

I was delighted! Thanks to C&T Auto's exceptional service my 1972 Ford valve covers and air box look NEW. They removed all paint, debris and rust using their glass bead machine, took them down to the bare metal and then washed them for me. Excellent work! I couldn't have been happier. I then primed and painted them with black etching primer and Ford blue.

They helped me out in Sept 2016 with machining some engine parts. Rick was pretty cool to deal with and he gave me some pointers on where to get good deals on stuff and some steps to take on rebuilding the head gaskets on a truck. The truck is still running great and everything machined well. Thanks again guys!

Local CustomerMy experience with C&T was not that great, I feel like I was taken advantage of... I was introduced to them by a worker and wished I'd never met him or the shop. They took my engine in July of 2014 asked them to Sleeve my engine. I was quoted $1100 to do the job- and I'd supply parts as need (with permission, if you don't like it- SAY NO!!!) $1550 dollars is what the block sleeved ended up costing me- they broke it all out, and nickel and dimed me on everything. $275 sleeves, $75 for block prep?, $800 to install sleeves, surface block $125, $150 born and hone, $125 to wash it?... Like I said in the beginning when quoted the job it was told $1100- and to top it off... Communication on parts, as needed to "keep the job moving" was not good AT ALL. Tell me what you need and I'd buy parts, but it ended up being Oct before I got it back. AND to top it ALL OFF the worker decided not to finish the job he started with me, and when asking C&T if they could do it- I was told "we are four months out" a lie I feel, what machine shop does good work, and does well moving that slow...? a four month turn around, I doubt it!So after 3 months and $3155.00 I got my engine back in PARTS with nobody wanting to FINISH the job that they started, but they sure felt fine about taking my money and explaining the increased charges as if nothing was said in the past about costs (up front)...I'll NEVER go back to them for work, not when shops around them- quoted me prices like $25 to wash a block, $70 to hone, and $1100 TOTAL for sleeves and block prep'ed, READY TO GO upon pick up.All I wanted was a job done- for what I was quoted, and not a bunch of FLUFF added to it, to get to a number $$$ they wanted to see, just because it was a High Performance Ford Engine...

Though they re not an auto shop, but an engine machining and reconditioning shop, the guys over at C&T Machine deserve to be voted the best simply because they re awesome! Awesome in work and their person. They completely rebuilt a motor for me, and to this day, 19 months later, it still has juice! I will say it is a privilege to know and be their friend!

Had them clean, blast and machine my engine block, crankshaft, rods, pistons and heads on a GM 2.8 liter V6 last summer. It looked brand new, but it took over a month to get all the work done and driving several trips back and forth to pick up stuff that wasn't ready was mildly irritating. They did charge me for a full set of freeze and oil galley plugs as well as all the other hardware. Thinking they were professionals and didn't miss anything, I assembled the engine and had it ready while I prepped the rest of my car. A few weeks ago I started the car. It fired right up but oil was gushing out from behind the flywheel dust cover onto the floor. I shut it off. After completely removing the engine I discovered that they had failed to install a oil galley plug on the back of the engine. In hindsight, I should have checked but you have the mindset that if you pay to have all the plugs installed and are charged for all the plugs you should have all the plugs installed no question. This mistake cost me a LOT of time and I had to purchase another set of plugs for the block in order to fix their mistake.Update:I ran the engine for a month and the entire valve train chewed itself up. When I took it apart I had discovered the pushrods had all ground down due to oil starvation. I opened up the hydraulic lifters and they were filled with metal particles. I later opened up the engine and removed the main caps. There were metal shavings embedded in the bearings and all of my crankshaft journals were scored. I checked behind the bearings and there were still metal curls left from machining in the oil grooves. These people not only charged me a ton of money for professional work, but they forgot to install all of the oil plugs, AND didn't clean the block out like I paid them to do either. Quoted $800 bucks, charged 1300, and in no time at all I had to rebuild the engine. Won't EVER go back.

super fast, treats students great, awesome deals, wonderful people5 starsI am a senior at UVU, I study geology, and have lived in Orem for a few years now. The day before I was going on a fieldtrip for school I got a flat and I really needed to get a new spare. The people at C&T Automotive not only were the only place in this valley that had my tire size but they took care of me and were so kind, AND they stayed open late on a Friday night for me!! They gave me a great deal, they're sooooo friendly, great business people, and I absolutely plan on going there again. Best auto place in Orem!!

These guys are the best in the business. If you want to be a cheapo and bring your own parts (I don't know why they would even allow that) and gripe over every little charge, then this professional shop is not for you. My shop has used C&T for 10 years and they always get it done right, right on time. If you walk in acting like you know everything, and insist on buying your own parts - while they patiently wait, hoping the parts show up soon and are correct - you aren't going to wind up being top priority for them. Sorry, facts of life. Every job we have ever given to Rod and the guys has been done right, no issues whatsoever. Probably because we treat them like professionals and allow them to do their jobs. Sorry if this sounds a little rant-y, but I've had enough of entitled whiners thinking they own the world and everyone needs to bow to them.

Honest guys and great service! Rod helped me when I was in a rush after my engine blew in my truck. He was booked out a couple weeks but got my stuff machined and cleaned within a couple of days.

I have had a few blocks done here, I even previously recommended them to friends who have had work done here. I will not return, and I will warn every person I meet.I took a block down to them about a month ago. Told them that I was on a tight budget and I had this block that had work done previously but wasn't sure of its condition. I brought them my rotating assembly for balance as well, stating depending on the cost of the machine work on the block, i'd want to get it all done and even have my rings cut and ready. I also mentioned that i had 3 blocks, so if the first (which was already bored out to the correct size) didn't work, i had others that could be used.A week after i dropped it off, i called to follow up and see if they had got anywhere. They told me that they hadn't got to it yet, i told them that was fine, but let me know how the block is, and again, i have others if it doesnt work.the next week they called me on a tuesday i believe, told me the took a look at it, it had been tanked, they mentioned that the block looked alright but needed to be decked and that it wasn't perfectly flat, this made sense since the car it was previously on had lifted its head. They said they could deck it and take care of that. and that they should have everything done in the next few days.Thursday afternoon they called and said it was ready, they never actually checked with me or gave me any pricing, but did all the of the work that i had said i would want (but didn't consider my budget). I told them i'd come down friday and pick it up on my lunch break.Friday i went down, they were actually eating lunch but helped me out, and get the parts out to my car. I was told then, (after paying) that there was some rust in the block that they weren't able to get out. Silly me assumed that they were talking about in the water jacket of the block, when they were talking about in the cylinder walls.SO at home getting it ready for assembly, is when I noticed that there was obvious signs of problems in the cylinder itself, that yes rust had eaten away the inner wall lining of the cylinder and of course would not provide a decent seal.My friend called to find out what was going on (he was assembling it and found the problem while i was still at work), they told him that they had told me about it, they also said that they wouldn't run that block. but failed to mention that to me when i was there with money. So lesson learned. Dont work with a shop who can't communicate. I'm out all the money i spent on block. I'm out a set of custom ordered piston rings cut to that block, and all the time wasted waiting for the block, and running back and forth to orem from bountiful.

We came to Herriman from Huntsville, AL. to visit the in laws and wound up having to rebuild our engine to get home. I have been tinkering with automotive for years, be it custom builds and swaps or just maintenance. I am very picky and was scared to take my machine work else where but let me say, THESE GUYS ROCK! PROFESSIONAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE, PRECISE, FAST! If I lived there the guys are even worth waiting on!

BEWARE! This shop was quick to blame everyone and everything but themselves after their machine work lead to catastrophic failure during the first thousand miles on my new build.I will definitely not be going back as they do not take accountability for their work.

They have worked on a few heads, cylinders, and cranks for me. They work magic on heads, when I pick them up they look brand new. The cranks they can polish. They did bore a couple cylinders for me, but they toasted one. (They sleeved it for free as it was their mistake).
