INCREDIBLE service! Howard and his team here are life savers. I've recommended this location to several friends and family members now.I had a negative experience at another location, I brought the car into Howard and his team. They understood the issue and got it resolved very quickly. They are great to work with and know not only on how to work on cars, but work with people. An incredible gift not every garage understands! But they do!Howard and his team treated my car just as i'm sure they treat their own, they made sure the leak was 100% good to go before leaving the shop. I normally don't leave reviews; but it's been 2 months now and the transmission has had 0 issues! All the technicians here need a huge raise, I hope the owner/CEO sees this. Job well done guys!

Tanner Transmissions is the WORST PLACE EVER to get work done on your vehicle. We paid nearly $3000 for a new transmission in our vehicle. Two weeks after it was complete, it started acting up again. Took it back and got it looked at, they sent us on our way after hooking it up to one of their computers, very next day it started acting up again. We got in contact with the owner. BLAINE. And don t get me started on that guy. We have taken our vehicle to and back from Tanner six times already. This last time we finally told Blaine we need to have a rental car to get around. He was nice enough to offer us a measly $25 a day for a rental car. We told him we would except that and he ended up finding one for us for 2750 a day. Show up to enterprise to pick up the rental car, we end up having to pay $500 out of pocket for the rental, Then allegedly get reimbursed for the rental whenever our car is finished. We will see.. DO NOT GO TO TANNER!!!!

The facility may look old, but the crew are professional, understanding, and fair in their pricing. They were willing to work with me on an incredibly expensive repair, and were patient while I amassed the funding. They finished full rebuild totaling nearly 2700 dollarsof my Jeep transmission in about a week. They even gave some advise about my engine and were able to fix the fuel pump during the repair. After all was said and done, it ended up being a great deal.

I was overall disappointed with the customer service and timeliness of service I received here. I made an appointment and after 4 days of diagnostics, I gave the go ahead for them to put a new transmission in my car. They said it would take 3-4 days to complete the job, and that was going to work out fine as I was going out of town and would be able to pick up my car the following Monday (6 business days). They said that was no problem. I had not heard any updates on my car and always had to call the shop. I called on the Monday that my car was supposed to be ready to pick up, and I got no answer, left a message, and no response. I called again later that afternoon, and they had told me that they ordered the wrong transmission, and they ordered the new one while I was on hold on the phone. My car/the ordered transmission obviously had not been touched for the week I was out of town. My car was finally fixed on Saturday (19 days since I had dropped it off). I asked for any type of compensation, and I was told there wasn't anything they could do as "it wasn't their fault." In the end, my car was fixed but I left being very overwhelmed and frustrated . I will not be using their services again.

The owner Blaine Tanner one of his employees wrecked our RV and Blaine was shady about his insurance info wouldn't give me any information on Monday he had submitted the claim. We still hadn't heard from his insurance which I know would be very quick on a claim so I called on Wednesday. Explained I would like to exchange insurance information and I told him mine and he still wouldn't give me the info. I then explained that the RV is our home that we just bought it to move from 6400 feet to a very low elevation that I had already been put on oxygen and it was important to move this along. And told him it is illegal to withhold his insurance info and I would call the police and get a lawyer. He them said Farmers and then I then really know Farmers was not known for slacking on insurance claims. He then said I was cussing and bring rude for calling him out. Well still nothing on Friday so I called Farmers that little weasel owner didn't put the claim in until Thursday Farmers said. Ignorant and shady not to mention he gives his employees disconnected numbers to give out for His Blaine Tanner. Well I wouldn't suggest this place because of the insurance guidelines the owner abides by.

As with other services, I was skeptical of any transmission shop. After reading reviews here, I remained skeptical (due to some bad reviews), but decided to have them take a look at my truck. I am glad I did. Their pricing was very competitive and the service was outstanding. No one wants a major transmission repair. But, if you do need one, I highly recommend you try these guys! Thank you, Bob, for such your outstanding service and your professional team.

We used Tanner transmission on three different occasions. The most recent visit was to diagnose an issue with my sons car. It was shifting hard and making a terrible grinding sound. We expected the worst, an expensive repair or rebuild. The guys at Tanner checked it out free of charge and called us with the results. They found a broken bracket on the drive line. They tracked down a new bracket and installed it for us in an hour. Total cost, $160. Honest, reliable repair at a fair price. This is why we keep coming back to Tanner.

I will be a customer for life! After being told at a local Subaru Dealership that my car would need a new transmission and other repairs totaling $10,000, I went to Tanner for a 2nd opinion. After completing a thorough two hour test and inspection of my car, the guys at Tanner told me I did NOT in fact need a new transmission and that my car was just fine. I am so grateful for their honesty and integrity. Such a rare gem to find in the automotive service industry. I trust the guys at Tanner with all my vehicles

I am extremely sick to my stomach about how my experience went. I brought in my car for diagnostics and I got a phone call saying there was something internal and it ll be $600 to take it out, figure out what was wrong, and that s all that was said. I get a phone call back saying yeah, there is 14 things wrong with the inside and we re going to have to rebuild it for $3800. I asked what the 14 things were and they couldn t even give me a straight answer. I m never one to assume but I felt like I was treated as if I didn t know anything just because I am a woman. I couldn t believe the price they told me after they said I would be charged only $600 the first time with no expectations for more. When I asked how this could be, they just said Well, all Mazda s have bad transmissions and it just is what it is. NEVER did they say anything about this before they wanted to charge me $3800. If they knew this before, why didn t they say anything? And when confronted about that they had nothing to say. I was completely stuck. I could pay $600 to get my car back in pieces, pay twice that to get it back together without fixing it, or pay almost $4000 for it be fixed . No other options. If I d been informed about anything before I would have went somewhere else or just moved on from this vehicle. The best option was to fix it because if I have to pay all this money I might as well get my car back out of it. After I get it back it breaks down within 50 miles. I take it to the SLC Tanner Transmissions and the guy wouldn t even cough up $2.50 so I could catch the train back home. And when I got it back the second time they ran out half of my gas tank. So I m $3800 in debt, and have to go back every year for 5 years so my warranty on my old transmission doesn t expire. If anyone wants to pay way to much for a car, please hit me up, BUT the warranty isn t transferable. I ve never felt more screwed over by someone in my life. They record all conversations so make sure you ask your questions right and they ship your transmission to SLC without permission or knowledge. I really rate this place negative stars.

Great customer service. I pulled up with my baby in the car and didn't want to get him out in case they couldn't fix my window that wouldn't roll up. Don came out with his drill and fixed it right there in the parking lot for me for free. I was really happy and appreciated that he helped me because he knew how, even though it wasn't a transmission issue. If I do have one, I'll be going back there.

Took my car in, to get my transmission flushed and looked at. The team in there was outstanding. they got my car in and out extremely quick. The cost was very fair and on par with other shops around Ogden. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

This started as a great experience and ended awful. I brought my older truck to them as it was having some sort of transmission problems. From the start, they told me that the disassembly and diagnosis was free, and being an older truck, I appreciated that. The next day they called and told me that they thought it might be the torque converter and asked if I would authorize $572 to replace it if needed.I authorized the charge and then got a call the next day that when they dropped the pan, the whole transmission was basically destroyed. They gave me a quote to replace the transmission, but the quote was more than the truck booked for. I told them that I wouldn't be interested in having them repair the vehicle based on the cost. They then told me that the charge would be $613.47. I asked what the charge was for thinking maybe they had replaced the torque converter. But no, it was for the disassembly and diagnosis of the problem. I understand it takes time to disassemble and diagnose a problem with a transmission, but the problem that I had was the guy I talked to told me that the disassembly and diagnosis was free each time we talked except for the phone call when he called to tell me the total. I have never seen a shop that operates this way and will never return.I live out of state and they never left a receipt in the truck or offered to mail me one. Bottom line, if you're not 100% sure you want these guys to fix your problem, do not let them touch your vehicle. The disassembly and diagnostic is apparently only free if you have them do the work, Will not return.

This shop is disgusting! I scheduled a transmission flush and as soon as I walked in I had doubts. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and introduced myself to the technician. I smiled and shook his hand and explained that I NEVER take my vehicles to shops because it's so hard to find a reputable one. I explained that I brought a torque wrench pre-set to the transmission pan bolts and I expected him to use it. I also explained that i wanted to see the old and new filter and gasket. He looked at me like I was crazy... But I still gave him a chance. I watched the floor techs work and kept inspecting the shop and gave up. THIS SHOP IS OVERBOARD FILTHY!! Trash and parts litter the floor. Order and pride is completely absent. The last straw was when I saw a tech filling up a transmission with an Arnold Palmer Half-and-Half gallon container. God knows where that oil was pulled from...Thanks Tanner, but I guess I'll do this one myself too. Two stars because I cannot testify to work performed due do me not wanting to even take the chance!

Had to have total transmission replacement and while it was an adventure, at the end of the day they stepped up time and time again to over communicate an finally get to a resolution. Now the car runs like new. I would use them again. Love to support local business and good people.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

The employees at Tanner Transmissions are cold, cruel, and very unprofessional. While performing due diligence in trying to find a quote on having a part replaced, Tanner Transmissions told us that they "would not work for free" and "would not buy our business". I understand they are a business and need to make money, but a small amount of professionalism and common courtesy isn't too much to ask. Rather than being mean a simple "The lowest we could go would be X amount if dollars" is all that's needed. If you're on a budget, and with all this financial uncertainty, and are needing car work done so you can make it whatever shifts you're given, then Tanner Transmission is not for you.

Great service. Very fast. Got me right in when I was in a bind. J&M Transmission in Lehi Utah did not tighten my bolts all the way and I was leaking transmission fluid on the freeway, call Tanner Transmission and they got me right in, tighten the bolts and sent me on my way. Would definitely recommend.

After calling arround and getting info from a few companies i chose to go with tanner transmission. The repairs took a bit longer than expected because my truck gave the a bunch of problems, but they made sure it was 100 percent good to go before letting me drive off so i wouldnt break down again. I feel so much better off having gone with these guys. They have awesome equipment that can test your transmission before they get it back in your truck and then test it again once installed to make sure they have got you safe and reliable again. Also my rebuild came with a 5 year 100,000 mile waranty which is better than anyone elses waranty so i know i will be good to go for years to come.

Tanners transmissions did a good job on my car for a fair price and there mechanic Francisco is awesome and very good at his profession. The reason I only gave two stars is because of the manager Jim has zero customer skills. I was always polite and respectful but everytime we would speak he would get defensive and rude while discussing matter's. I think Francisco is a way better person for Jims Job and Jim should be in prison dropping soap because he is a dishonest crook.

My car broke down and I had it towed to them. Jim was very accommodating. While they were not able to do the work required on my car, they gave me great places to get it fixed. Very friendly and took care of me.

When I went to Tanner it was to get a second opinion on my transmission and hoping for a cheaper repair than another local transmission shop had told me would start at $750 up to $4000. Obviously, this kind of cost was putting a knot in my stomach. I dropped my truck and within the hour Tanner had made their diagnosis. Expecting a very similar diagnosis that was given at the other local shop, but to my great surprise, Mr. Nott told me there was nothing wrong with my transmission. I was astonished, yet very happy. Mr. Nott explained to me that the problem was rather simple, first there was a hose loose for an external transmission cooler I had added and had not made tight enough. Second, my transmission fluid was low, so Tanner filled it, drove it, and found it to be working just "fine". Upon driving it home I quickly was able to see that my truck was again shifting just fine, there was not problem with the truck. This of course released the knot in my stomach, however, it quickly brought up the embarrassment I would feel explaining the lack of fluid to my wife. Mr. Nott didn't charge a cent for what Tanner Transmission did to help relieve my stress and make my wife and I very happy. I was completely satisfied and Tanner Transmission just won a life long customer. Thank you Mr. Nott and Tanner Transmission.

We're on our 2nd transmission from tanner and it doesn't work. We've brought it in 3 times this summer to get fixed. It's extremely difficult to communicate with the employees. It's hard to talk to the person who's actually working on the transmission. They seem lazy about holding to the warranty that we purchased after the 2nd transmission. It's beyond frustrating.

Was supposed to have my transmission and transfer case flushed. I was originally quoted at $280. When I got to the shop, I was told that the flush machine was broken, so I figured the price would be cheaper. Then I got a phone call a few hours later saying the price would be $374. When I showed up to the shop, I was charged $400.88. It shouldn't have costed half as much. I'm very upset and I feel like I was screwed over.

Had an appointment for 10 AM on a Saturday since that was the only day they had an opening. Got there at 9:55am, no one is there. The place is closed and the doors are locked, even though the sign says they are open from 8-noon. Guess they won't be getting my business. If that's the way they operate, I'm not going to let them touch my car. If it's an emergency closure, that's fine, but they had my phone number-they could have called. Will go elsewhere.

I was able to make an appointment, and my car was ready when promised. I liked being able to have the Power Flush service, very few offer that. The gentleman at the counter did not make me wait and was polite and courteous.

Had a transmission go out on us in our newer caravan. Bob and his team got us back on the road in time for my business trip to oregon. I was blown away by how fast it was. Thanks again tanner transmission. I hope i never have to get another transmission rebuilt but if i do these guys will be my first choice.

I wouldn't recommend this place only because they want you to open up a tab when clearly we all know what needs to be done. If you have any kind of mechanic experience.Don't let these people open a tab on you and garnish every last penny and leave you not knowing what your final bill is going to be.They perform a lot of unnecessary work...I recommend checking out the local transmission place here Ogden.. Tommy's..Don't let them talk to you as if you don't know much because when it comes to money, you got to know how to manage your finances and don't let them manage it for you.Needs to say they're jerking turned me away and I went somewhere else.I give them 3 stars because the offer a free diagnostic which can help a lot of people understand the issues your experiencing and possibly save you money in the long run.

Pretty long road trip and my Jeep is throwing weird transmission codes and esc codes. Called a ton of places from moab to ogden and couldn't find anyone to get my jeep in to even read or check my transmission fluid level today, and if they could I would have to leave my Jeep. Called Tanner Transmission and they were very polite over the phone explained that it would be about a 15 minute job to check the transmission fluid. Brought it in, everyone was polite, they even checked my wheel sensors. Explain the issues to me and the if and's and butt's about em. Would recommend them to anyone who doesn't know the area and needs a mechanic.
