We were very pleased with our experience at AAMCO. Phil was great to work with! From the beginning he was upfront, honest, and very clear about what the problem was, what our options were, and how much it was going to cost. We ended up rebuilding our transmission. Communication was great throughout the process. Timelines and price quotes were spot on. As a matter of fact, when everything was said and done we actually came in a little less than the original quote. Our vehicle runs great and we couldn t be happier with our experience!

Went there because i had a coupon for free inspections.. They will still charge about $80. This is the smallest complaint I have. Because of the $80 we were pressured into letting them fix our torque converter which was the problem. They said they would price match. When I got 5+ quotes that were $1000+ less, they would only discount the price about $400.They did fix the original issue, but IMMEDIATELY after we had another problem with it shaking at a certain speed. They found out it was the cv axle. They said there was 100% no chance they could have broken the cv axle when they took it apart to fix the transmission (even though they had already admitted to breaking another part while putting it back together). They refused to do this work under my recent warranty even though I never had this issue before they took apart the transmission. They said it was pre-existing and I probably just didnt notice it before..They also said the part was going to be $1100 to replace, that they had called around to 3 different stores and that was the price. They told me that this part was the only part that would ever last longer than a month. They tried to get me by saying they'd do the less than an hour of labor for free.Luckily I know trustworthy mechanics so I took it to them. They found an equivilent part for $130....Yes they mostly do good work but it is going to be more expensive than other shops.

We fully trust our vehicles to them. They always do an excellent job with a fair price. We will continue to go back to them.

Had a great experience with AAMVO North Logan. The staff were nice and extremely proffesionals. They quickly identified the issue and were able to get the vehicle in working condition by the next day. I will be using this shop for all of my future transmission needs.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

These guys are great. They were professional and honest with me. Fixed my transmission quickly and accurately. Before Aamco I brought it to a local guy who said he replaced the valve body. Didn t fix it. Went back to him. Still not fixed. He overcharged me like crazy and didn t fix it. Aamco had the problem figured out and fixed quickly.Service: Transmission

We ve been taking our vehicles here for a while now, and they ve been pretty great to work with. Very friendly and helpful. Our car had some plastic grinding sounds when I turned so I brought it in figuring it would be a simple/cheap fix. It was a simple fix, but not cheap. Charged me their standard diagnostic fee ($55) to secure plastic. I definitely didn t go in expecting it to be free, but also didn t expect to pay 50+ for something that should have taken less than ten minutes (comes out to be $330/hour for a ten minute job).

UPDATE: I went back to aamco to discuss my concerns and I was told they could squeeze me in to see what went wrong. I received a voicemail later in the day saying they had overbooked and could not get me in that day.I don't want to leave a bad review, but since I can't leave a message on the phone and I won't have time to call tomorrow....I took my truck in 3 days ago because my windshield wipers were not working and my turn signals went out. I was told it would take an hour to replace the switch. It took a little longer, 2 days longer.Since it is my work truck that has all my tools and parts, it made working a little difficult. The actual price was $100 more than my quote, however I was only charged for 1.5 hours for 2 days of work so the price seemed fair. When I picked up my truck after hours and started driving home a rainstorm came in and wouldn't you know it, my windshield wipers did not work. Thankfully my turn signals worked and I was able to get to the side of the road and wait out the storm. I am dreading tomorrow as I have to be at work at 7am and there is a 40,% chance of rain.I woke up this morning to go to work, thankfully it's not raining. However my turn signals don't work.Service: Electrical

Took my truck in for some pretty basic transmission issues and had everything fixed very quickly and for a great price. Their mechanics went above and beyond and let me know about some other issues that were starting and how I can prevent them. And their customer service was great. Every car shop should serve their customers the way that this shop helped me.

A+ for putting the customer first. After diagnosing the problem with my transmission and recommending a full rebuild, they strongly encouraged me to take my car into the dealership because it was still (just barely) under warranty. As a bonus, they did not charge a penny for the diagnostics because they did not resolve the problem for me.Service: Transmission

These guys did a great job! I do most of the work on my cars, but after our Tahoe broke down it had been sitting in a field for over a year. I didn't have time to fix it, so I had these guys work on it for me. They fixed a fairly complex problem quickly, were great at communicating everything to me, and also fixed an antifreeze leak and oil leak that had both been issues for quite awhile. Even after all of their work, there was another slight issue that I discovered after I got the car back, so I took it back, and they fixed it free of charge the very next day. Would recommend them to anyone with any car problem! I do most of the work on my cars, so I have a hard time trusting most car places to do it the way I would, and not try and milk every penny out of me that they can. They know what they are doing and aren't trying to point out ticky tack issues and get more money. They fix the problem and do a great job! Will recommend them to everyone I know, and will keep coming back with any issues I have in the future.

Phil and his team are VERY Good. They were efficient in checking everything over and catching other potential problems. Even though there was extra charges involved above and beyond the original estimate, it still was in the benefit and my best interest to follow through on these items. The end result is a vehicle that acts like it's brand new instead of 312,000, miMy thanks to you guys. You did good

Logan the Customer Service Manager was terrific to work with. We had to rebuild our transmission on our 2005 van and were very pleased with the work, the warranty, and especially with the 10 -14 followup with AAMCO to make sure the transmission was working properly. Will be doing more than just transmission work with them. Moving our oil changes to them immediately.

We had to have our transmission rebuilt and decided on these guys, based on recommendations from others. We couldn t have been more pleased. Pricing was fair and the workmanship was excellent. Plus, they were able to finish the job in a very timely manner. A great experience in every way.

Great service and honest. I have brought my vehicle here twice to be looked over. I brought it in the second time to have a weird noise my engine was making checked out. They didn't charge me at all to figure out what was wrong with it, where most mechanics will charge a ton. When it came time to get it fixed, I contacted the dealership where I bought my car. They bring all their cars to a certain auto body shop to be repaired, so they get a way discounted rate. They said that I could have my car fixed by their auto shop, and they would fix it for me with the discount. The price they gave me here at AAMCO was still cheaper than the discounted rate from my dealership's auto body shop. I'll definitely be taking my car here in the future.

Excellent customer service. Honesty goes a long way in my book. They quickly diagnosed what I thought to be a major transmission problem as a simple fix (automatic - wouldn't shift out of first gear). A competitor told me the transmission most likely had internal damage (clutch plates) and would require extensive repair. The problem was identified and fixed during their free diagnostic service and they did not charge me despite it taking an hour of their time. I would highly recommend this shop and will be taking my vehicles here for future service despite it being clear across town.

After a horrible experience with Catrubus VW of Layton we got our car back from them unfixed and took it to AAMCO. AAMCO listened to me and correctly diagnosed the problem. They did a great job fixing my trans quickly and at a low cost. They even offered a 50% discount if they had to do more work (which wouldn't have been their fault)! I RECOMMEND THESE GUYS!I used these guys again and they were good to work with again. Thanks.

I had great service. And Laura is so kind. She came and jumped my car off and the next day I took it back for service. I had to have a new battery and new battery cables. It was great service and friendly. It is si nice to see that there are still people in this world that are kind and friendly. Thanks again for the great service.

Brought my 1990 Cadillac deville in with transmission issues (wouldn t go into reverse when shifted) turns out one of the pins on the park rod sheared off and a rebuild was required. Phillip was really helpful with all questions I had even if it took longer than I had planned I understand that there s so much that a group of people can do at once. Car sat for a couple weeks before they could get started with techs out being sick but more or less I m glad it s done and that I got it back. Thank you guys for your help and if there are anymore issues I ll be sure to look you upService: Transmission

Great service and equipment (for diagnostics and resolving the problem), but absolutely ridiculous pricing!!! If you aren't familiar with the general cost of repairs, you are likely going to be charged hundreds (perhaps even $1000.00 or more) of dollars more than what the repair is worth. The employees who I met while I was there were very pleasant and enjoyable to interact with. The problem with my truck was diagnosed quickly and effectively. So far, all was going great...until they told me the price to fix the problem... :( The problem was that I needed a new Catalytic converter for my 2003 Chevy S-10. I looked up prices thoroughly, and found that a standard OEM catalytic converter can be purchased for around $110-140, whereas as the ultra high-performance catalytic converter can be purchased for around $350-400. The labor to cut out the old catalytic converter and install the new one is around 45-75 minutes, depending on weather exhaust clamps are being used, or the pipe is being welded. The replacement pipping needed also ended up costing around $65. I figured that this job could be done (with a standard cat) for around $250-300 max. You can imagine my surprise when I was bid $890 dollars to have this simple fix completed!! $890 dollars!!!! WHAT A SCAM!!! Where the heck is that other $600 dollars going??? I told the technician heck no, cause I simply can't afford that! They were charging $105 per hour for labor, whereas my regular family mechanic I usually go to is only $65. I decided to do the job myself. It took me about an hour and 45 minutes to complete. I had a shop cut and bend the piping I needed, which cost me $45 bucks. The catalytic converter was $125. The exhaust clamps were $12 for both of them (including the high heat metal weld). I ended up getting the whole job done for about $180. $180 compared to $890 is a NO BRAINER for me. They employees were nice, the service was good, but honestly, in my opinion, an enormous SCAM...which is not cool!

The service level and knowledge of the staff at this business is excellent. I took my 2005 GMC Sierra in because the vehicle was not shifting properly and I was concerned that it was in need of a major repair. I received a call from the manager stating that the transmission was not the problem but another unrelated part which was affecting the computer and therefore the way the transmission was shifting. The manager recommended changing the part and gave a very reasonable quote to complete the task. I authorized them to do the work and was able to pick up the vehicle the same day I dropped it off. It is awesome to have my truck working perfectly. I recommend doing business here at Aamco.

AAMCO has got themselves a new loyal customer. I had some issues with my transmission on my ford explorer, when i took it to a local shop they couldn't find the problem. I kinda got the feeling that they didnt believe me. So i took it to AAMCO and they found the problem immediately, they were quick, friendly and the warranty on the rebuild is legendary! Shoutout to Kirt who was the guy that helped me out! Its been three months and the transmission is doing so much better since the rebuild!

A fantastic garage. They are never too busy to help, which surprises me because they are great and should be buried in work. I have taken a car in there and asked about a service and they actually told me no, that I didn't need it done. That's the first time that has ever happened. Prices are good and work is fast. I have and will continue to go here every time. I rarely write reviews, but I couldn't help myself.

These folks were extremely helpful. They seemed honest compared to other mechanics in the area which like to price-gouge college students. They got 4 out of 5 because I felt they were a little over priced. That said, our car was fixed quickly and the repair is sound. Thanks guys.

Once I discovered their no hassle approach to car repairs, I will always take my car to them for service and repair.Their free car inspection to discover the problem is actually free. I once brought my car in to them to possibly get a repair, they did their free inspection, which took a few days, they found the problem. But due to the nature of the needed repairs I didn't go through with the repairs. I offered to pay them because I know they can't go around giving free repairs, they refused my offer, understood my situation and thanked me for my business.Do yourself a favor and go get your car fixed at Aamco, they do more then transmissions!

I have had 2 full rebuilds (the same transmission) done by this locale. Overall the experience was somewhat stressful.Workmanship (8/15)The first rebuild lasted about 6 months past the warranty period. This was due to a bad heat exchanger that allowed coolant and transmission fluid to mix and kill the transmission. I don't blame AMMCO for the failure, but it's unfortunate that a $115 part would destroy a $2500 rebuild. It would have been nice to have been presented with the option of replacing it during the first rebuild. I consider this a lack of attention to detail. The second rebuild has been good on the transmission side, but I've seen problems with leaks in the coolant hoses. It seems that they did not replace coolant lines that were in contact with transmission fluid and degraded. I have had no problems since changing hoses. Again, I consider the failure to replace $25 in hoses a lack of attention to detail. Both rebuilds were completed very quickly - within 4-5 days.Customer Service (1/15)I had a hard time interacting with the owner. I felt every question or concern was met with near condescension. He was great to speak with when I had money in hand, but would argue with me over questions I had about the process or parts that would threaten the bottom line. After the experience of 2 transmission rebuilds here, I will not likely be back. While they are quick and repair by the book, I would look for a shop that better answers my concerns and will look at doing the ironclad job instead of cutting the small corners. At the cost they charge it should be ironclad and my experience has shown me that it is not

This is a mechanic shop that won't just replace things - they will take the time to correctly diagnose the problem and make sure it's done right. After three other mechanic shops either misdiagnosed or were unable to diagnose our transmission issue, AAMCO fixed it quickly, honestly, and for a fantastic price. Big thanks to Logan and the rest of the crew! Take your vehicle here and you will be in good hands.

Went to get one thing done and they wanted many other things done that didn t need done. Would have cost over $3,000 for everything they wanted done. The one thing I needed done cost over $400 compared to less than $200 other places I ve been down south. Never going here again

Being new in the area, we didn't know any service shops, so we went to AAMCO which is nationally known. Logan, the manager, was very friendly and professional. He kept us well-informed about the progress of the transmission repair, and explained the charges in detail. We were pleased with the service we received from AAMCO and will definitely go back.

My check engine light came on a few days ago so when I took my car into BigO to get an oil change and my tires rotated I asked them to take a look at it (which was another $40 fee). They came back and told me I had two cylinders misfiring and that it would cost about $550 to fix everything. I wanted a second opinion so I took it to Aamco. Not only did they look at it for free, but they told me everything was fine and I just needed a circuit reset. They were so polite and friendly I would highly recommend them!
