It's been tough to find a honest car person to work with. I've used them twice for advice with my clutch as a parasitic electrical leak. They were great both times! I would use them again in a heart beat

If I could give these guys a million stars I would!! I have needed some major repairs on my car but due to finances I had been putting it off. I finally took my car to another shop and after the estimate didn't feel comfortable, so I took it to 3 other shops. My good friend recommended A1 and I am so grateful I ended up going with them!! They knew my situation and that I was truly in a bind, my car wasn't even safe to drive. When I called to find out the total cost it was a bit higher than we had discussed and I started getting upset but wanted to see why before freaking out. They went so far above and beyond, they fixed EVERYTHING instead of just the first set of things and saved me between 1,000 to potentially 2,500$!!! I couldn't believe what they had done for me and cried like a baby w sheer gratitude. When I picked it up James told me "That's what we're here for and we just wanted you to have a nice rest of your summer and be able to take your daughter to do the fun things you planned; without being so stressed" I really can't express my gratitude enough to them for being beyond amazing!! I will NEVER even call another shop!! As a single female, it's always scary knowing that a lot of places will try to take advantage of that, but these guys; they're definitely one in a million!! Thank you everyone at A1 for being amazing

TL;DR - Didn't fix the car the first time and they screwed up the electrical system.Took my car in because the timing belt went out, after a few weeks they told me they fixed it and to come pick it up. I tried to start it wouldn't even idle because of a dead cylinder. They then tried to tell me the heads needed to be replaced for $500 when they weren't even scratched.We basically told them the valves needed to be replaced since a timing belt failure will bend them, they replaced the valves and head gasket and the car was mechanically running ok (they screwed up the exhaust manifold gasket though).Two weeks after that I started having electrical problems, specifically with the alternator charging the battery. I've replaced multiple batteries and alternators and no other shop has been able to diagnose exactly where the issue is, though we're pretty sure a power spike got sent through the system after A1 worked on it because the problems only came after the timing belt replacement.Apparently they're also not a fan of AutoZone parts and heavily implied that was the cause of my failures, even though basically any car parts place like that is going to be getting the same new parts from the same manufacturer (Yes we've tested the alternator and battery and the voltage was fine on both).Additionally, my recently widowed grandmother took one of her vehicles in, and they told her multiple things were wrong with her vehicle when they clearly weren't and were going to charge her almost double what the repair she actually needed should've cost.Overall, my family members and I have continually experienced unskilled and exploitative behaviors from this shop and I cannot in good conscience recommend them for complex repairs.Edit: Forgot to mention, it literally would've been cheaper, parts and labor included, to buy a new engine with less miles and put it in but that option didn't even come up.

They run a very honest business here. I went in for a complete inspection for an undiagnosed vibration and rattling noise coming from my frame. This led to a replacement of the front two ball joints, after which the car was (paid for and) released back to me with the original issue unresolved. I took it back in where I was treated respectfully and like a valued customer, curbing my frustration of having paid a bill leading to no visible results. They did another diagnosis and caught the problem. When I went to settle my bill and get my car back, I was told they d foot the cost for parts and labor (on what ended up being a u-joint replacement) because they should have caught it in the original check-up.I would recommend this shop to anyone and will be taking my business here from now on. They saved me a second major bill while working quickly and effectively.

My cars transmission went sour on a trip to visit my father-in-law in Logan. I had the car towed to A1 and they were able to get to it in a timely manner. Upon returning to Utah County I found it was leaking transmission fluid but they were able to get it fixed. While I have no plans to move to Cache Valley and hope to never need their services again I would definitely use them if needed.Service: Transmission

I have taken both of my cars here. An Infiniti QX56 and a vintage Porsche 911 Carrera. They made easy work of difficult issues while charging reasonable fees.

Troy and James used to be my go to. 15 years. The last 2 visits have been awful. They charged me $600 for pulling out a transmission that they did not do. They did an exhaust on my Bronco and it was done sloppy and is the wrong size. A real bummer. James lied to me about my Shelby saying the transmission went out, when it was only the throw out bearing.

I can t recommend this place enough right now. I came here because there were a few good reviews and it was close enough to may place of work to drop off my car and walk.They quoted me for replacing my back brakes at 75% what Les Schwab quoted, then ended up charging me even less once they were done. So far, my car seems to be handling very well.If you want to save a couple hundred dollars on a repair, go here. It did take them all day to complete the repair, as they were backlogged some, but that was well worth the $300 savings.

The level of service that this company provides is second to none!! They went above and beyond the call of duty in making sure that my vehicle was done quickly and done right! The owner even came in personally to accommodate my tight schedule. I called and asked about having my car looked at the person I spoke said they could it and to just bring the car in. So I had my car towed there and when I arrived they Asked me if I had scheduled an appointment I told them I was not told I needed to and then they proceeded to take down my information my car keys and said that they would have the car looked at that was on on Monday well I did not get a call until Friday evening around 3 o clock asking if they could do further diagnosis because they had only been able to diagnose for 30 minutes I of course agreed but never heard anything back well then Monday afternoon the car still was not finished so at this point they ve had my car for a whole week and still was not done I finally picked up my car at Tuesday and was charged 166 dollars for a relay to be replaced. I will never take another car here and will never recommend this place to anyone.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I ve taken all of my vehicles here for 10 years. They are great for everything. Maintenance, inspections and oil changes are a breeze and they are awesome to fit me in for emergencies. Never had them take longer than a day for anything, even major repairs. Generally well below pricing for other shops, sometimes even half the price of dealerships.

I have taken multiple cars to this shop and had a great experience every time. They have fixed things other mechanics couldn't even figure out. I'm impressed with there ability and knowledge. There prices are also extremely fair for the great quality of work. I would highly recommend them and will be back when i have another need.

They did an exhaust job for $70 that another shop quoted me $200-300 for! They got me in quick and got the job done in less than an hour! James was honest and pointed out why he went a few dollars over the quoted price. He was helpful in answering questions afterward.Great service!

These guys do a great job at a fair price and have very clean and pleasant facilities while you wait.**I just went to them again to have them look into some transmission troubles for me. Not only did they get my truck back to me more quickly than I expected, the work they did do was less than I was expecting. Their office admin is really good at communicating what is going on and helping you understand how much it will cost.

Customer service is top notch! I came in after my car started to make a high pitch noise and they had it figured out before my ride came to pick me up. (5 minutes) They immediately saw to it that someone started working on my vehicle while another ordered the part in. By the time I got back home the car was done and is good as new. Been taking my vehicles to them for years, and refer my friends anytime they need a mechanic. Best shop in the state.

This was my first time using A1 Automotive here in Logan. I had a water pump installed and an oil change on my old '84 LR Defender 90. Super pleased with the pricing and service on my vehicle, especially since it's an odd vehicle with a previous diesel conversion. I would highly recommend A1 for any repairs and will be going back this same week to have some additional maintenance performed. Thanks again for a great experience!Service: Oil change

I have been going to A1 Automotive for about the last 10 years or however long it's been since they opened. Their new shop is great with lots of room for more parking and more cars. They are the absolutely the most honest and fair mechanic shop that I have ever been to. They stand behind their work very well and their work is very very good. I would never go anywhere else. I have referred many friends to them and everyone has been very happy with their work. They work with tight schedules whenever they can and get the work in and out at a fair price.

If you are looking for an honest mechanic shop, look no further. A1 is extremely honest, professional and fair in their work. They called throughout the whole process and kept me up to date, my bill was almost exactly what my estimate was, and they took the time to make sure that the job was done right. We have been living in Logan Utah for over 20 years and we have been so BLESSED with the service from A1 Automotive. The owners and employees are extremely honest, responsible, caring and they offer an excellent customer service.They always give us an estimate before working in our vehicles. If parts are under warranty, they are honest and fix it without any extra charge. They are great at giving advise to benefit their customers, and they have enough employees to get the work done fast. We proudly recommend A1 to family and friends : )

We've been in Logan for 6 years and A1 Automotive has always been great to us. I usually shop around and they always have a fair price. I don't ever feel like they are forcing me into expensive needless repairs. The staff is kind and helpful with people like me that understand very little about cars.

Even though the inside isn't spotless like most automotive corporations the service and price is fantastic. The gentleman who helped me, gave me an honest price of the part that needed to be replaced in my car. Since two other local businesses were hopeful to rip me off he was able to cut their price in half. I cannot appreciate the honesty more.

Update 2: A1 did their own check and found it was not the o2 sensor they replaced, it was a different sensor on the same bank. They have called me a few times to get this resolved which I really appreciate. With this update I changed it to 4 stars from 1 star. Also, I want to apologize for my unprofessional original review. Thanks for reading, and hopefully your car trouble will get resolved easier than mine did. Quote from A1 was also lower than the quote from master mechanics.Update: check came back from master mechanics it was a failed o2 sensor that a1 replaced. A1 said it would be covered under warranty "if that is the problem." Car is sitting in their lot right now waiting for their check to come back.Honestly I'm super sad to give this review. When they were at the old location they were my go to for any car trouble I had. I recently went for a check engine light and paid over $500 for them to fix the problem they diagnosed. On the drive home the light came back on. I decided to drive 50 miles to see if this was an error, it wasn't. I called them back for unrelated reasons and again was met with negative customer service. I ended up going to master mechanic to get it fixed and I hope I have a better experience.

It's been great to work with the A1 team- within a week, they've helped us do a pre-purchase inspection, emissions test, and fix an engine block coolant leak. Whitney is cheerful and helpful at the front desk with scheduling, billing, and general information. James is approachable, knowledgeable and friendly. We'll keep coming back!

Took my truck in to get the timing fixed they said the timing was good and ran a few other test came back and said the map sensor is why it wasn't runing and the alternator was smoking, and just for the map sensor was about 325 for a 40 dollar part and so I declined and was charged 110 for labor and testing replaced map sensor and alternator and still not running

Very knowledgeable and efficient. Completely corrected multiple problems in a timely manner and gave me a good deal for related items. They called a couple of times to let me know of the problems, cost, and progress of repairs to schedule a pick up time. i recommend this auto shop. they work hard. they also allow you to bring your own parts.
