Fantastic service here. I took my car in last minute before leaving town and they worked me in. The work was done with quality and speed. This seems to be a group that goes above and beyond for their customers. They are also very friendly and they take the time to ask about your problem and they listen. One of the best experiences I have had with an auto shop. Give them a call! You won t regret it.

I have been using Powell's Automotive for over 20 years. These are the people I trust. They know what they are doing, are honest and fair. Be aware, this is a small shop and not a chain, with numerous dedicated customers like myself, and therefore they keep extremely busy. Don't expect to be able to swing in and just get your car in and out right away, they do their very best and considering how busy they are, they are on top of it, but planning ahead will make life easier for you.This shop has saved me thousands of dollars over the years, through being honest and really caring. Just one quick example: when I first started using Powell's I was quoted for a $1,200 repair by another shop. Called Gregg Powell and he suggested I disconnect the battery overnight and then see where I was at after that. Next morning the issue was fixed, and I never had that same issue crop up again, and it cost me nothing. There are dozens more stories I could share with you of how Gregg's honesty and knowledge has saved me. I've had the pleasure of knowing Greg most of my life. I have taken my Vehicles to Powell's Automotive several times and had the most excellent experience and top notch service there. They are very professional, honest and got the job(s) done the same day I dropped my Ford SUVs off. I've been coming here for years and they've always been great to work with and they are fast. Whenever I've scheduled an appointment for emissions testing, they've always taken my vehicle in on time and it takes a mere 10 to 15 minutes of waiting for them to finish.My family has been coming here for about 30 years (two generations) and I don't see any sign of changing.

Powells Automotive was recommended by several people. We've used them many times in the last year. The owner and employee's are always professional, they have a great sense of humor and get the work done very quickly. The quality of workmanship is excellent, he is upfront with everything from final cost to the length of time it'll take to finish. In addition, the charges have always been very reasonable. They don't do unnecessary work just to make a few extra bucks and have been the best auto repair shop I've ever used. Highly recommended.

I had a simple diagnostic on my engine, they failed to fully inform me of the issues that my car is having. They charged me over $100 to lose the paper that had the information on in, and told me they could email it a day later. This delay caused no proof for my cars issues for my warrantee and caused a delay of me getting a rental car. Im disappointed because I overpaid for them to give me zero information that was useless and they could even give me the diagnostic on paper. They lost it!!!! and expected me to pay!!! terrible experience!!!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I had a great experience here. I really appreciate how quickly they will able to fix my car and they did it for a fair price. They were also very friendly. I would recommend them to anyone and I will definitely go back for any future repairs on any of my vehicles.

I used this service as an out-of-towner on the recommendation of a friend. I received fast and courteous service for my daughter's vehicle when I was in a pinch and needing to get back to Idaho. Greg at Powell's was great, and I highly recommend this business. They are competent and trustworthy. I was highly satisfied.

Fast, friendly, no-nonsense. Car maintenance isn't my strong point, so my review is based purely on his customer service. From start to finish he was communicative and he over-delivered. He quoted me and had everything finished when he said he would. I've read other reviews bashing him, but as long as you're on time, tell him everything that needs to be looked at, and give him the time to work, he'll make sure it gets done and gets done right.

Prompt, professional and good work. Will take all out vehicles here.December 2019 update: these guys know their stuff, they are reasonably priced, and are extremely honest. We took our car in for a third opinion and they were correct, the other two shops were incorrect.If you're looking for a well run, honest, fair priced shop this is it!

Although I haven't had an auto repair done here, I was impressed as I drove into the parking lot. I travelled there to get the owner's signature on a few documents. The cars waiting to be repaired are parked neatly in stalls. The office portion of the shop is well maintained and clean and decorated with automotive memoribilia such as a Route 66 clock. When I need a car repair, I plan on using Powell Automotive even though I live twenty minutes from his shop.

We took our car in for some radiator work and the part was defective and caused water to get into the transmission and ruin it. Greg fought for us with the manufacturer that sold the part. The manufacturer said that it wasn't there fault and we must have put water in the transmission. Greg does no do transmission work, but he made all of the arrangements to send the car to a transmission shop (Gears Transmission - also an excellent choice) got the transmission replaces and covered all of the costs while he fought with the original parts manufacturer. I'm sure that this was money out of pocket for Powell's, but he cares enough about his customers to do this. It would have been easy to tell us that we need to take up part warrantee issues with the manufacturer ourselves (like so many other shops would) but he backed the whole repair. Needless to say, if Powell's can fix it, we would never consider taking our cars to someone else.One more thing. Don't expect to drop your car off for same day repairs. They are always busy. That's a good sign of many happy return customers.Thanks Greg!

I have used Powell's on several occasions, and I will be a repeat customer for as long as they keep up the great service. Here a few examples of great service:Driving my mini van in Southern Utah, I mistakenly drove my car for about 10 miles with the e-brake on. I brought it to a local shop in Cedar City to look at, and they quoted me close to $800 to fix my brakes. Thinking that excessive, I drove it to Powell's, and they found the same issues, but charged $150 for the same work.My next notable experience involved my Mini Cooper. I was having transmission issues, and I brought it in. The owner immediately told me his shop did not work much with Mini's but he would be happy to take a look. After looking at the car, making several calls, removing the transmission, performing a transmission flush, they could not figure out the issue. They didn't charge me for the work, since they couldn't find the problem. He himself was quoted $5500 for a replacement transmission from his vendor, but didn't want to do it, as he himself felt the price was excessive.

Greg saved me $1500. I went to Brent Brown and got an inspection done and they said I would have to spend $1700 to fix what what wrong with my truck. I took it to Greg for a second opinion. He explained everything in detail about what happens to cars as they get older. He said it is very common the problem I had and it was minimal, that most cars that are 15+ years have it. He saved me $1500, was able to fix the one small problem I had and recommend an alignment guy, Sid's Alignment in Springville. I will be forever grateful to Greg and his resolve to be an honest mechanic. Thanks Guys!

I brought my car in that had been in an accident so that the mechanical issues could be diagnosed a price put on repair. The damage was fairly extensive and the diagnostics took a while, but I really feel like he gave me a complete picture of what was wrong and how much it would cost. He also gave me an honest opinion about the value in having the car fixed. In the end I decided not to fix the car and he seemed quite relieved actually, even though it would have meant a lot of good business for him. Additionally, when I tried to pay a diagnostic fee for all the time he spent looking at it, he said to not worry about it. I tried to insist, but he would have none of it. The man does honest work and I would trust him with my business again.

I've taken my vehicles to Powell's a few times. They are always prompt to fix the issue and are always honest. They could have nickle and dimed me, but they didnt. Will bring all my vehicles here as long as Powell's is around.

We were thinking we needed alternator replaced. They diagnosed a dead battery and replaced it for less than we would have paid at the discount store. Great service. Thanks!
