We've stayed in the cabins many times over the past 15 years- it is our first choice of places to stay in the Moab area (other than the campground in Needles!). The accommodations are great and the folks who run it are wonderful. If you want to stay in well-appointed lodging in a location that is peaceful and resonates with the calming power of the desert, this is your place! It is worth the 35 mile drive to escape the hustle and bustle of Moab. Because it is a bit south of Moab, it is a terrific place to stage day trips into the Needles. Highly recommended!

We lived at this place for a few days and we loved it. The owners, Amanda and Mike, were super-friendly and took good care of the tiniest of details that the guests needed. Overall, the place is pretty big with common areas having all the facilities that one would need to cook, eat, rest etc. Although La Sal has network coverage issues, this place has hi-speed Wifi so there is no issue with internet connectivity. Overall, I'd recommend this place for anyone visiting Arches & Canyonlands National Park.

My husband, daughter and I stayed there in summer 2015 (can t recall if I sent this, where did the time go?) It truly was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I totally unplugged there and enjoyed the privacy that the owners afforded us. The cabins were cozy, clean and simple. We made friends with all the cats and dogs, and my daughter enjoyed grooming a horse. I learned about the spiritual significance of Aspen trees. And before we left I had a powerful healing session with Teague that has stayed with me ever since. I am grateful for them and all that they do.

My company rented out a few of the cabins for my coworkers and I a couple months ago. It was an amazing getaway from the heat and city craziness in Arizona. The views were beautiful. The staff was beyond friendly. The animals there were the best part! Brian the cat and Latte the pup (pictured) were my two favorites. There were deer roaming through the front and back yards on multiple occasions. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and there were so many futons and couches that everybody was definitely taken care of! Only complaint (and it's super small) is that there wasn't any shampoo or anything. But to be honest I'd rather they spend their money on the animals rather than that stuff!

It was a beautiful lodge, but it was not operated very well at all. I can see why it is up for sale. We did not see any staff until the very last day which was on a Friday of a week long stay. We had to get our own towels & such from the laundry room. The room was stuffy & hot. The views & wildlife were spectacular. We actually ended up leaving early rather than stay there any longer. We are NOT going to stay here again.

My wife, daughter, son-in-law, grand daughter and I stayed there in March 2016 during Easter Jeep Safari. The cabin was extremely nice and relaxing. It was a little further out of town than what we were originally looking for but we would stay there again. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Looking forward to staying there in the future.

A peaceful, quiet stay with our two teenage girls. The owners care for animals nobody else wants, and they let the girls help with them, walking dogs and cleaning horse stables. They absolutely loved it! Clean, spacious cabins with lots of wildlife roaming on/around the property. Bring burgers/steaks or what not; they have grills and gas stoves, and you're a solid 30 min. drive from Moab.

Pros: clean with basic appointments for cooking. Beautiful views of mountains and relaxing away from the busy-ness of Moab. Very relaxing to walk around property.Things to consider: we were greeted with a locked room in our cabin for 6 because we had said there would be 2 guests originally. An oversight on our end to not notify them since we were happy my aunt and good friend could join us last minute. We were told we were given a reduced rate but we had actually paid $179 a night plus an additional $30 a night at their request for 2 additional people. They explained this was for additional cleaning but their written expectation was that we were to strip beds, wash and dry all dishes, sweep, and take out the trash out of all rooms. Nothing is free, as the owner stated in her response, but this should be stated in their description. The cabins are duplexes with a shared wall. Not a huge deal but also not mentioned. It takes 45 minutes to Moab,1 hr to arches, and 1.5 hrs to canyonlands.

This was the most beautiful location ive ever stayed while I was visiting Moab. It is about 40 minutes away. However, I woke up to beautiful animals, there is so much privacy, and it is so peaceful, my little family could all stay in one cabin together. You can really tell how much the owner(s) care about the land and the property. It was so beautiful, I would love to return next time I go to Moab.

Darling and peaceful lodge. I loved staying in this place. Beautiful building and rooms with private bathrooms. The staff was so kind and helpful. Make sure you take food with you. Lunch and dinner are not provided and there is nowhere to eat close by. However, a small breakfast is provided.

Just stayed in one of their upscale and very comfy cabins. Plenty of room, accommodated our little terrier. Friendly. A bit out of the way from local sites, but well worth the drive. Thanks guys! Had a great time.

Well appointed cabins. However, they could use more seating in the living room. Also they did not tell you upfront that there was an extra charge for more than 2 people. We were charged an extra $30 per night for 2 more people in a cabin that sleeps 6.

Its been over 1 year, but here goes......This place is AWESOME!!!!!!They treat you like family. My family and I drove from Northern California to Casper Wyoming to watch the TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE (AMAZING) and then made reservations here at Mt Peale. I really didnt know what to expect, but when we arrived, O....M....G....The view is breathtaking. They are an animal sanctuary. They gave us a tour of the animals that they saved and my children got the chance to pet them. My children LOVED the experience. The only bad issue we had is....we were only there for 1 day. I wish we had more time to stay and fully enjoy it but driving 4000 miles in a 1 week vacation isnt enough time to take it in.If you dont mind the 45 min drive south of Moab, it is totally worth it.Even to this day, my children want to return and with it being a 15 hour drive from home, hopefully we will return next year.I would also like to save up and send donations to help them continue to save the animals. Stayed here for a race in the Garden Nook. Close to the La Sals and La Sal Loop. Owners were nice and friendly. Room was in good shape, the bed was a little too soft and there were no shampoos/conditioners - not a problem if they intend for it to be like a hostel but for $110ish a night for a tiny room I expected more.

Stayed in cabin 3 July 2017. We really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to call them up direct in the future. Approximately 20 degrees Fahrenheit cooler in Old La Sal than in Moab. Windows open each night plenty cool. Cabin well done. Nice covered porch. Friendly folks. Beautiful view of La Sal Mountains. Easy access to Geyser Pass and La Sal Pass roads to get up into mountains. Moab seems to be closest place for supplies. La Sal does have small store and Post Office. Internet available but spotty at cabin 3.

The staff is great, but there are a lot of things broken. The barbecue starter, various doors, drawers. Our screen door was broken when we arrived and there was a note not to leave it propped open - probably because the glass panel was just taped in place with packing tape. The facility was otherwise cozy, just not kept up as well as you'd expect for the price.

We checked in late at night. The hosts had left clear instructions at the office door. We were given access to the kitchen and fridge to store our personal food. There is a separate fridge which housed the food items for breakfast. It qas stocked with eggs, jelly, bread and milk. There are cereals also available. I was happy to get my dose of tea. Coffee pot was surprisingly empty.

An out of the way place to retreat. Lovely host Teague and staff were terrific. Rooms were real comfy and roomy. If I'm ever back in the vicinity again, I'd book here without a second thought. Oh, did I also say it's an animal sanctuary as well?

Very friendly staff, cozy lodge, with a great fireplace in the big living room. Interaction with other guests is very easy. Rooms are great, convenient and very clean. Just loved our stay here.

Beautiful location with brilliant views. The room was neat and instructions were clear. The place is comfortable, however breakfast is completely your responsibility. Given the limited options a little preparation will be good.

This is a great place to unwind and relax from city life. It's about 40 minutes from Moab, but the drive is absolutely worth it. Scenic, peaceful, and cozy, will definitely be returning.

Nice, bucolic setting. Loved seeing the animals they are rehabilitating. Room small but clean. Nice bed. Breakfast foods adequate but could have used replenishing.

Comfortable, but lacks conveniencesWe were a family of 5 adults traveling to see Moab and all the National Parks.Pros: Cabins are beautiful inside and out, beds were very comfortable, full kitchen + washer/dryer was handy, nice wrap-around deck with outdoor seating, beautiful views, quiet area to be in, cool deer sightings. The people who run it are very kind and their sanctuary for animals is a wonderful thing to do.Cons: It is 28 miles/40min from the town of Moab (and not time efficient at all for getting to & from our adventures), Closest gas station or store is in Moab, Wifi is really bad (...and I mean almost non-existent. Absolutely weak downloading of a page and definitely no streaming), no Verizon cell phone service at ALL (Landline available only at the main lodge), the living/gathering area is too small (also part of the kitchen area), especially if you have little kids that need a play area, and comfortably seats only 3 adults (even though cabin sleeps 6 people), water was not as hot as we prefer (compact shower stall with no tub), outdated (and up too high to view) TV & DVD/VCR combo unit with no HDMI port to hook up laptops or other electronics. The biggest bummer about the wifi was not being able to research & plan the next day's adventures, find cool places to eat based on online ratings, etc... We were told the wifi was better at the main lodge. (This was not a convenient option to go drive or walk to to get wifi each time you needed it.) But even when using that 2nd network it kept kicking us out and was never a stable connection for more than a few minutes at a time. ***In summary, if you want to be COMPLETELY off the grid, be far from Moab smack-dab in the middle of nowhere, and are able to self-entertain, this is your perfect place!

We had a great time and found it to be the most confertable places we have stayed. It was clean, convenient, quiet and the beds were amazing.

The cabin was great, more than enough beds (for 2 adults 3 kids), plenty of space inside and so very peaceful

A lot more temperate than Moab even though it's only 30 minutes away. Plenty of space for our large family and the management is helpful but not too hands on which is nice.

Cute cabins. Warm during our cold winter stay. Horse sanctuary onsite. Would go again.
