This place is magical! A little boutique hotel that is truly unique. Our kids LOVED the bunk room, and I can t recommend the observatory tour highly enough. The hotel is beautifully decorated, immaculate, and totally charming. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The personal touches from the family who owns the place makes you realize it is truly a labor of love. I can t recommend this hotel highly enough. We skied at Powder Mountain and this was a wonderful home after skiing.

My husband and I arrived on a Saturday. We were greeted by a very friendly & knowledgeable staff member named Ashley, she gave a dinner recommendations and made us feel so welcome. The Hotel is so Charming & Beautiful, Very Clean. The amount of detail put into this establishment is so impressive from the welcoming card, chocolate & cookiess in our room, to the complementary breakfast croissant sandwich and delicious coffee. This place is hard to leave. You've stolen our heart Compass Rose! Thank you

This place was a little hidden gem and I loved it! the room was nicely set up and very clean. The property was beautiful and interestingly entertaining. It has a nice fire pit and they definitely put some thoughtful energy into the landscaping! The addition of the observatory was brilliant and made the experience all that much better!

Nice place. We came because 1) the observatory sounded compelling and 2) we love Huntsville. We enjoyed being in Huntsville and we enjoyed the observatory (we got nice looks at Saturn and Jupiter). The room was nice and felt new. Only one complaint: the bed was so loud and creaky it was hard to sleep.Oh, and the complementary breakfast on the website was misleading. Turns out it s only one coffee and one free croissant.

Your only option in Huntsville. Quaint, clean, comfortable. Nice Cafe in the lobby open to travelers who want to stop between ski slopes.Food & drinks: Cafe has several coffee and hot chocolate options, breakfast sandwiches, and pastries. It's a little pricey, but the food is good, the people are friendly, and there aren't really any alternatives nearby.

The Compass Rose Lodge far exceeded our expectations. The setting and decor were so peaceful and inviting, and the rooms were just immaculate. There were so many little details both in our room and in and around the hotel that just made this place so special and better than all the other resorts we have been to. The chocolates were delicious, and the cookies and wine were a thoughtful and sweet surprise as we celebrated our anniversary. If you have a chance to do the star tour, it is well worth it. Scott was hilarious and very knowledgeable in astronomy and the local area. There were restaurants within walking distance, and there were also a lot of cool historic places right around us. We will definitely be back here!

I booked this place on a random recommendation from a ski patrol guy who I happened to share a lift with at Solitude. I was headed north to ski Powder Mountain and Snowbasin. After reading the reviews I decided to book three nights. I cannot remember a time when a hotel has so thoroughly exceeded my expectations. When I arrived there was a bluegrass band playing outside and there was a food truck out front. Turns out that's a 'thing' on Saturdays. The staff - to a person - was absolutely wonderful during my stay. The room was spotlessly clean, the towels super thick, and all of the furnishings were unique and really well-thought out. Throughout this place the attention to detail was amazing. A quick starter breakfast is provided every morning, as well as a complimentary coffee from the coffee shop adjacent to the lobby. Their light roast is fantastic.Did I mention the observatory? I highly recommend the observatory tour, that was a really nice bonus to my stay. The lobby and hallways have all sorts of rare and interesting ski history memorabilia. It must have cost a small fortune to build the place and put all this stuff together.Travel time to Snowbasin is about 15 minutes, and about 30 minutes to Powder Mountain. Next time I pass by this way I 1000% am staying here again. I could not have had a more pleasant stay.

Always enjoy the friendly smiles of the staff. The soap and Lotion products are superior. coffee shop and teepee are worth it!Noteworthy details: Outside community area is a plus.

Beautiful and cute place. Right next to the city park, 5 minuets from Pineview, 20 minuets from Ogden. The observatory tour is a must! Definitely added some fun to our vacation. Room was very clean. I absolutely love the style and feel of the room we had. They leave a nice little breakfast right at your door in the morning so you don't have to go far for that. Overall a great experience!

My stay here was amazing!!! From the very first encounter with Ashley checking me in, to the modern facility, clean and well decorated rooms, fire at night, and the observatory at night, the Compass Rose has become a must stay for me when I travel. Amy and Jeff, two fantastic people who work here, were friendly and welcomed me with open arms! Huntsville, UT might be a small place, however, this hotel has all the amenities a traveler desires! The observatory is an absolute must! Scott gave an insightful, educational, and memorable tour!

Fantastic boutique hotel. Lovely owners and special location. The lack of nearby food options requires a little planning/forethought but well worth it. Give them a try and enjoy the slower pace of life in Ogden Valley for a night or more.

Worst hotel stay I have had in a long time. They supposedly have a quiet policy there for the nighttime. However when I stayed people were screaming and running up and down the hallway until 2 am. Worst night of sleep ever. I let them know at check-out and they could care less. They don t have a front desk clerk 24/7, but an after hours number you can call. I called the after hours number at 1 am with no response. Please don t stay here if you actually want sleep. Room was very nice, you just can t sleep here.

Compass Rose Lodge is a very nice boutique hotel. We felt immediately welcome and enjoyed the fresh design of the lobby. The rooms are very nice and modern. We would have preferred a little more storage space for our clothes. They offer hangers but no closet. The coffee shop opens at 8 am. That's a little late if you want to get an early start, however a simple brown bag breakfast was provided.Definitely book the planetarium tour to learn about stellar constellations and view the moons of Jupiter and the ring of Saturn with a high quality, astronomical telescope. The location is superb. Huntsville was very quiet, but it is close to everything in Ogden Valley, specifically Snowbasin.

My girlfriend and I stayed here when it first opened. The building is beautiful. The decorations are homey and the shower was nice. The bed was very comfortable. The coffee was delicious :) but the best part was that the staff were incredible. They left us a personal handwritten note with a small bag of candy. We were able to do the observatory tour. It was such a wonderful experience! The tour guide (I cannot remember his name) was so friendly and intelligent. You could tell he had a true passion for astronomy. He allowed us to stay a while after the other guest left and let us ask tons of questions and showed us so many wonderful things. He has a wonderful career ahead of him. All in all, it was a blast and an amazing experience. If you have to chance, you should stay at Compas Rose.

Beautiful hotel.. amazing kind staff. Beautiful location and decor. Every detail was well thought out and there were little surprises around every corner. The owner Jeff was very kind and inviting.. Ashley and Amy were customer service personified! Scott toured us in the observatory and blew our minds We saw the night in a different way! This place is amazing and the Observatory only added to the experience! I highly recommend Compass Rose for a unique experience and make sure you check out the tipees for a crazy fun game of checkers!!

First time staying in Huntsville, Utah. It s beautiful up there. This hotel tho; top notch. Beautiful decor, airy feeling. The customer service is what sealed the deal for me though. Will be back for the observatory another time. The fire pit outside is nice for social settings too. Ate at Chris s which is amazingly great food and service. Made me want to move up there, tbh. Till we meet again!!

I did not stay at the Lodge, but instead my husband and I got coffee here. The atmosphere is amazing to say the least. The coffee was extremely strong (in a good way). The barista didn't have the best customer service and a man was EXTREMELY loud on his phone in the coffee shop (not the Lodge's fault, obviously). The bathrooms were adorable and the fresh air scented lotion was amazing. I would love to know what brand it was so I can get it myself.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and had some of the best customer service we ve ever experienced. Natalie, Dakota and the young man that checked us in were so friendly, they made us feel like we were the most important guests they ve ever had. We hit a deer on our way up and when we called to let them know that we d be late for our observatory tour they offered to come and pick us up. They were genuinely concerned for our well being and did everything in their power to still make it a wonderful night. The rooms are beautiful, Dakota was a wonderful host (the observatory package was amazing) and my husband said that Natalie was really great to work with when he was planning this surprise night. Overall, you can just tell how much they care about their guests and wanted our experience to feel personal. They made what could have been a disaster of a night (our car ended up being totaled) into one of our best anniversary memories.

I loved staying here. Service was top notch. The views are amazing and it's so close to multiple ski hills. Rooms were quaint with an authentic quality (weird horse theme but it worked). Multiple fireplaces (including outdoor ones). Breakfast was simple and Campos coffee ( ) made it so much better. Thank you for having us!
