My new go-to mechanic shop. I brought in my project car that has had inexplicable issues for over a year and a half. No other mechanic in town was able to figure out what the issue was, and i was given back my broken car along with a fat bill over four times in a row. I didn t have high hopes because of the many failed attempts, but i heard from the last place i went to that the reputation here was worth a try. I came in, explained my situation and described my cars issues the best i could, and after only a month and a half of tinkering testing and research, my car works great again! James was descriptive about his repairs and his thought process, he worked with my budget and made sure i stayed informed. if you think your car is a lost cause like i did, Mountain Auto Repair is your place. im so so pleased with my experience!!

James and crew at Mountain Muffler have worked on 2 of my cars and done superb work. Great communicating when more work is needed and they diagnose issues to fix the problem when other shops just remove a part and put a new one in. True masters at diagnosis. Highly recommended. Been sending my cars there for service for 8+ years.

In my professional life I drive over 35k miles a year in mountain conditions, with a car full of dogs, and in my personal life I am on dirt roads that are miles from civilization so I need a mechanic that I can count on to keep me from being stranded and Mountain Muffler is that peace of mind. Ladies, it's like having dad taking a look at your car, you leave knowing that the boxes were checked, t s were crossed, and i s were dotted. I heard a clicking noise in the back end of my Tacoma, and I had soooo much more going on than what I was initially there for. I know how I drive my Tacoma on the backroads, so it made sense that the issues found were valid. I ve had a horrible experience with Tracy s auto repair over the past year and every time I have left there, I found myself rolling down windows and not having music playing so I could hear any noises that could leave me stranded. When I left Mountain Muffler, I felt confident to go out of service and get back to doing what I love without worrying if I was going to make it home or how much the tow would cost. I cannot say enough good things about James and this shop. Great to work with as a home mechanic. Most things I can do at home, but they replaced the timing belt on my 30 year old truck. My husband and I were traveling cross country and we had a car trouble while in town. The owner got us in quickly that morning, even though they were extremely busy. They were able to diagnose the problem, fix it, and with new a defective part, they fixed it again. They are very knowledgeable! Able to help, had very good communication, would recommend these guys for your car any day!!

I couldn t be more impressed with James and the entire crew at Mountain Auto. We had just moved to town when my brake light came on. James had me in that day and quickly repaired the brakes. He also located a hard-to-find part for my shocks and had me back the next week to take care of that. Car runs like a dream. We also have a very old car that I couldn t get the hood open for and he told me to just drop by so it could be fixed. I was there and on my way in minutes and he didn t even charge me. I feel so confident in their work, their diagnoses and their integrity. I would highly recommend this business.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I just have to say that i started having problems with my pinion bearings and rear axles and called around to different shops. Not only did the guys at mountain auto repair have a fair price for my repairs but they also made it a priority to fit me into their tight schedule and get me back on the road in a pinch. Not only was the service phenomenal but the whole experience here for me couldn't have been better. 10/10 would recommend!Service: Steering & suspension replacement

We were in Heber on the 1st leg of vacation and had a leak in our cooling system. I couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from and came here to see if they could fix it. They looked and said the radiator was leaking. Short story, by the end of the day they replaced the radiator and we were on our way. No more leak.

James made the time to fit our Outback in for an emergent radiator replacement while we were in vacation there. He was not only willing to take our car with no prior notice but he also was honest & incredibly fast getting a replacement radiator and getting our car running again in less than 24 hours! I cannot thank Mountain Auto enough for their quality workmanship & speed! They saved our trip and saved us hundreds of dollars in rentals or airplane tickets! The repair was done right & done fast for a very fair rate. I cannot think of better qualities in a mechanic shop. I would highly recommend them. They saved the day for us!

Cruse control stopped working. Nissan dealer couldn t find the problem. Quoted $3000 or more to diagnose & repair.Mountain auto & repair found the problem & made the repair in 1 day. The last shop did the front end alignment incorrectly and it Messed up the sensors. Saved me $2700 bucks. Services: Steering & suspension repair, Electrical, Wheel alignment

I have found my shop in Heber! I ve had some trouble with two other chain shops in Heber and was looking for someone to take a look at a grinding front brake. These guys were able to diagnose and fix my issue with a quick turnaround even though they had a heavy work load. They were friendly and thorough and stuck to their original quote. I will be trusting this shop with future repairs and recommend you skip the chains and go local.Service: Brakes

Labour Day towing a trailer the Air Conditioning in my 2016 Silverado started blowing hot. I called Zack early Tuesday morning and told him I was camping up at Strawberry Reservoir. He said despite him booking Thursday Friday that week, if I came down he'd have a look at it right away. He quickly diagnosed That the compressor clutch was the culprit and showed me. Had a quote in 10 minutes and parts coming that day to be replaced the next day. He got to work on it first thing Wednesday morning as promised and ran into some more problems with a busted Schrader valve on a line. He got that fixed without the need for more parts and for the original quote money. Good honest guys that really helped me out and worked around my schedule.Service: Air conditioning

We broke down on a Sunday July 3rd going up the canyon to Heber. Had our car towed to Mountainland Auto Repair. Left it there til July 5th when the reopened after the Weekend Holiday. Called 15 minutes before they opened and told them we left our car there and he said he d get right on it since we were stranded & just visiting family in Heber for the weekend. He ordered the parts and they were delivered and car was repaired same day and we picked it up at 1:30pm. $680 for replacing the water pump and replacing the serpentine belt. Got it done in less than 4 hours and we were able to get back on the road in time. Thank you and would do business there again. My car overheated when I was on a 700 mile trek home right in downtown Heber. Mountain Auto Repair was amazing! I called them immediately asking what I should do and if it was okay if I drove my car to them. This all happened less than an hour before they closed, but they didn't even mention that fact and said to bring it by and they would see what they could do. I felt like they genuinely cared about people and I felt like I was part of a community when I went to them even though I was a complete stranger. Since I had limited options and couldn't stay in Heber to try to have them fix my car, they went above and beyond to make sure it was drivable, made sure I had options and wouldn't be stranded on my drive if it overheated again, told me what they thought was happening with the car, and gave me all the information of what they did for the car so I could have it for my mechanic at home. They were professional, obviously extremely experienced, and kind. I managed to make it home safely without incident and they ended up being spot-on with their guess of what was wrong.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

My daughter was moving from Georgia to Washington with her new baby. She bought a used car before she left and it broke down in Heber City. Mountain Auto Repair stayed late to fix it and they only charged her for the original quote even though they had to put in more work than originally anticipated. I am am out of town old woman whose car broke down and was towed to this repair shop by chance. I was treated fairly and with respect after hours on a Friday night. Not many humans left like this on the planet. I was surprised at his knowledge and honesty and quick diagnoisis with experience and options of what to do next. AMAZING. My brake alarm kept going off while traveling and although I m not from Heber they got me in quickly and diagnosed that all I needed was a little brake fluid and I was on my way within 30 min. No hidden charges and no up selling. Heber is lucky to have them.Service: BrakesService: Brakes

These guys never disappoint me! They are honest and hard working people! They really care about their customers! I brought my 86 k5 blazer in and the work they did on it is just pure amazing! They truly go out of their way to help you, and I will never forget that. For as long as I live in heber I will always choose these guys! James and his crew are awesome! Thanks guys!

I have had this shop do a transmission fluid change in the past on my Kia, and when my Subaru was making a noise that I thought was maybe just a bearing, they diagnosed it as a transmission issue within a day.They recommended a transmission fluid change, but told me there was likely some damage to the transmission that would mean a replacement in about 50,000 more miles. Before they did the change though, they did their research and found out that my transmission may be under an extended warranty for me, didn't charge me a cent, and sent me on my way to the Subaru dealer. It turned out that they were right, it was a transmission problem AND it was under the extended warranty. This saved me over 8000 dollars.I would happily have work done here in the future, and my Subaru is close to needing brakes...

Whether your issue be big or small, this is the perfect place to get your vehicle repaired in an efficient and timely manner.Recently the alternator in my car broke down, and I took it to Mountain Muffler. They took care of it much more quickly than even they anticipated, and even told me of some additional work that could be done, and did it!Their prices are more than fair; if they don't get it done on time, it's because they got it done ahead of time; they're very kind and respectful; and all around, these guys are the best I've ever gone to have my car repaired.

Great customer service. My family and I were on a trip when we experienced engine trouble near Heber and could not continue. After trying other shops, Mountain Auto Repair said they would accommodate us despite being very busy and it already being late afternoon. They said they don't like people being stranded. The issue was failing spark plugs. They quickly fixed the problem and we were on our way. Thank you Mountain Auto Repair!Service: Engine repair

Was out of town so I had to get my breaks fixed so I could continue on my trip. They were actually awesome for it and did it super fast for me it only took the. About 3-4 hours to get it in and done. I was not happy it was $115 for labor. SLC shops charge $90. My AC Compressor went out and they said they could not replace it without doing the dryer as well and that is stupid since it was just the compressor that was bad. I ordered the compressor and replaced it and put in the R134a. And the AC was not turning on. I looked at the fuse box and AC clutch fuse was missing. The only people that were under the hood before me was them. It makes me wonder if they took the fuse out so when I fixed it myself; as I told them I was going to, so I wouldn t be able to figure why it was not working to get me to go back for return business... strange

Experience here was great and Troy was awesome to work with. However, car broke down after 1500 miles of getting it back for the exact reason I took it in for to be repaired. Warranty is as about as good as the people warrantying it. In this case I spent $3k here to only have an UN-drivable car. I wish they would have followed through with their "warranty" since I honestly liked working with them until the problem arose again.
