My daughter and I stayed here while we were hunting and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Steve was great because we arrived late but he made sure the room was ready and check-in was easy! The room was comfortable and clean. I have titanium elite status with Marriott and spend a lot of nights traveling. Beds are as comfortable as you can hope for and the kitchenette was more than adequate. I really liked the larger than normal Mini-Fridge with build in cabinets to accommodate all our stuff! I spoke to some of the staff while on the property and they were all very friendly and helpful! I will for sure stay here again!

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The location is beautiful! We were very impressed by how nice and clean the rooms were! The beds were very comfortable and the room accommodated our family of 6 very well! We could not have been happier with our stay in these rooms! The staff was very polite, and hard working. They were willing to help with whatever we needed. The playground was perfect for our kids! I would highly recommend this resort to anyone who would love a beautiful get away that is nice and clean! We will definitely be back!

This weekend was my first time at the Sun Outdoors and it was AMAZING! The facilities are very well-kept and clean. The staff was very kind and helpful especially, Steve! I will highly recommend customers, friends and family to reserve their next camping at this resort. It has so much to offer and comes with full hook-ups and tons of activities. Thank you so much, Steve, for making my family and I feel welcome at the Sun Outdoors.

Bathrooms need work!!! My family has been coming to this resort for decades, long before Sun Outdoors took over. The location itself is great. Camping spots are great. However! Since being bought the bathrooms are terrible! I d rather use a gas station bathroom! This last weekend, multiple toilets were clogged or covered in feces all day long! The floors are filthy! When you have hundreds of people using a small amount of bathrooms, they need cleaned multiple times a day. When Ray owned the resort, the bathrooms were kept clean and tidy multiple times a day. We love this resort but the new management doesn t seem to care as much about the people and their experience.

The beach isn t raked anymore. The beach was all muddy and not sand. They did not care to take care of it. The pool has been out of order for a whole summer and there has been no progress or any construction trying to fix it. The management and workers are extremely rude. My family member was yelled at and kicked out of the hot tub for not being 14 when they are 17. The workers are not helpful. We asked for the wifi password and they told us they couldn t help. The bathrooms look as if they are not cleaned. They are gross and are not something I feel safe using. In years passed with old owners they had activities, a pool, nice workers, and clean beaches. Wasn t a pleasant stay. I do not recommend this place.

Rooms were clean and quite. Drain in the tub doesn t work well. Beds are hard The resort area is nice and right on the beach. We unknowingly booked the busiest weekend at Bear lake and did not enjoy the over crowed RV park but on a quieter weekend would have been very nice.Rooms: Quite, need new mattresses on beds. Need a better way for getting off sand from feet so it isn t spread all they the hotel and rooms

Dealing with this place has been very frustrating. We tried for days to reach someone to cancel our reservation. Was finally able to speak to someone that said they could cancel our reservation, but we would only get half of our money back because our reservation is 12 days away, and we have to cancel our reservation 14 days before. Lets not forget we tried for days to reach someone. We have never stayed somewhere that requires a 14 day cancelation notice. No RV parks, campgrounds, or hotels. This is ridiculous. Between not being able to reach anyone and a 14 day cancelation policy, we won't be staying here ever again.

I grew up going to the Garden City location, we went there every summer. It's a fabulous resort! It's still nice, but a few years ago Sun Outdoors bought it and took over. We stayed there last year and it was nice, but I was a guest of people who organized the stay and had no interactions with the company. We were going to stay there again this year, but dealing with the company, trying to get through on the phone and not being able to, finally getting through days later, their customer service is the worst! I will never stay there again.

This room was disgusting! You can tell there was not even a basic effort to clean. From dirty bandaids to big brown stains on the unchanged pillows this room made us want to puke. Review the pictures to see what to expect when staying here. Their staff also cannot be recognized and professional service. After looking for staff for several minutes we were approached by a worker in a thong bikini by the beach.Rooms: The rooms were uncomfortably dirty. I would label this as a no tell motel.

Fun, camping spot Our family stays at every year in Bear Lake. It s very kid friendly and close to most of the main attractions at Bear Lake. Within walking distance to places to eat and get ice cream and right by the Pickleville Playhouse, if you want to go see a play. There is a biking/walking trail that goes right in front of the park all the way to downtown bear lake so it s easily accessible.Nearby activities: Within walking distance to places to eat and get ice cream and right by the Pickleville Playhouse, if you want to go see a play. How bad? The sites are so close together there is no room to relax. Unless you like to share your stuff with strangers. The guy next to us ran his generator all night and the host couldn t be bothered to tell him to turn it off. So don t bother trying to sleep, unless you can sleep listening to a generator all night. The pool was a half empty swamp. It wasn t open or functional. You might want to bring some chain link fence and some razor wire to stop people from walking through your site. We had to block our site off with some hoses that were left laying around. Get your tetanus shots before you go anywhere near this place. We left early and feel lucky we did.

Some bathrooms/showers weren t totally clean but they are spacious and well-equipped. It s a great place with a pretty nice sand area but the beach is kinda swampy.Nearby activities: We went to the Pickleville Play House and watched an amazing and hilarious play, which was only a short walk down the sidewalk.

Our family visited Sun Outdoors at Bear Lake in July and had a wonderful time. The accommodations were clean with excellent beach access. We loved the relaxed atmosphere. Staff were responsive and happy to assist as needed. The resort is family friendly and we would for sure recommend staying there with or without kids.

When my friend and I first walked in the hotel was really cute, one of the cutest hotels I had stayed in recently. The bathroom was really nice as well. When we were going to bed, my friend noticed dried food on her blanket, it wasn t just a stain because it could actually be scratched off easily. We got grossed out and wondered if it had been washed. We smelled the sheets and they smelt clean like the bath towels, but the comforter and the top layer blanket did not smell clean. The room was also super cold, our apartment we keep at like 68 degrees and this hotel room was MUCH colder than that. The ac just kept blowing like almost the whole time we were there and we closed the vents but it felt like it was like 60 degrees the whole time we were there, closing the vents helped slightly but it was hard to enjoy the hotel room because it was soooo cold the whole time we were there. We couldn t find a way to heat up the room or anything. Sad to say because we both had high hopes for this, the beach was beautiful but the other stuff kind of ruined the hotel experience :/.

We loved our stay here and the manager was great! Thank you for your kindness in allowing us to use the facilities. Super nice person. We are grateful for your help. The campsites are clean and offer plenty of space. They aren't the best as they are grass and dirt. So, they aren't perfectly level but I'd say a lot better than others we have stayed at. It is a perfect setting as it sits on the lake.

WOW!!!!! What a wonderful piece of paradise. My husband and I stayed in a cabin and loved it. It was so comfy cozy. It was perfectly clean. Earick was amazing and kind and friendly. He even got into the first aid kit to help me with an owie. He is an above and beyond wonderful person. The slightly older lady is extremely fantastic. So kind and friendly. We were made to feel so welcomed. If we get the opportunity to go to bear lake again there is no place else we ll stay. Everywhere was so clean. We can t rave enough about our stay at your resort. A million thank yous for such a wonderful weekend in paradise. Danny and Lori Padilla.

The bad: RV park is really crowded! We tent camped here. My site reaked of gasoline. Other areas on the campground did too to the point it gave me a headache. The showers weren't cleaned in the morning. The good: I do love the location. It's small and private, with a nice sandy beach. They have clean grills by the showers to use. Eric was really nice and informative on the phone.Overall, I wouldn't have mind my trip if it wasn't for the gasoline smell in the campground

Great property right on the beach. We stayed in the hotel which has recently been redone. The floors creak quite a bit and we could hear people walking in the floor above us. Other than that the rooms are good. It was a very short walk down to the beach which was nice. It was busy when we stayed and there still seemed to be plenty of room on the beach. The grounds are clean and seem well kept. We d stay here again.

The condos are ok on the bottom floor. We got a tiny room on the top floor near the lake. Hot, hot, hot. Cooler in the window and a large box fan constantly had to run to make it bearable at best. The campground that you have to drive around and through to enter or exit was STUFFED to the point of ridiculous. Tiny children running all around on the road and darting out from between trailers that were literally feet apart. Just not a great setup and someone will eventually get hurt there. The condos/rooms weren't clean either. Sand in the corners of the bathroom, toilet had a growth around the water line so it hasn't been cleaned in a while.

This place is out of control. We came in after 6 pm, so there was nobody in the office to check us in. The pass was just in a box outside with our last name and site number. There is a code to get into the bathrooms, but it was not provided with the pass, nor was the wifi password, just a pass for the campsite. Not even a map to the site was provided, so I had to look it up online to find the site. The lady in the office is nice and friendly, but that is the only employee I have seen or had any interaction with during our stay. There is a gate supposedly to keep out anybody not staying there or renting watercraft with a parking pass but it is kept open with nobody manning it so anybody can and many do come in and park everywhere, on the beach, in the hotel guest only parking, the loading only spots, the road, even in campsites blocking the view and parking of the paying RV/tent guests. They also bring dogs in that are not allowed if you are not staying in the RV park. The crowded conditions make it hard to maneuver to get to your site and get parked with an RV, and it is a safety issue as well, with all the vehicles blocking the roadways, kids on bikes, and pedestrians coming and going while vehicles are being driven too fast through it all. It used to be a nice, safe place to stay, but now it is just a nightmare with nobody being held to the rules except the paying customers who seem to be in the minority now with there being a reputation around Garden City that anyone staying anywhere in the Bear Lake area are welcome to come to Sun Outdoors Bear Lake and have free access to the lake and beach that isn't even big enough to accommodate the actual guests of the resort as it is. It's not worth the hassle or the $104+/day RV site even if you only have a tent + $10/day for each extra vehicle including any ATV/UTV you hauled in by toy hauler RV, $20/day per boat/watercraft/ATV trailer and $10/day extra fees for amenities that are either too crowded to use or not available due to construction.Safety: Overcrowded with car, truck, and van loads of people coming in from all over the area that are not resort guests and their vehicles parked everywhere, making it hazardous for foot/bike traffic and emergency access or egress.

What a great place to spend a few days with your family. The beach front is beautiful. The resort has wave runner and boat rentals available at a decent rate. Showers and stalls are always clean. Pool and hot tub not crowded. They even have an outside kids movie night on the weekends. Horse shoes, pickle ball, basket ball on the menu as well. Overall a nice place to relax and hang out with those we are close to. The local favorite Raspberry Shakes are just within walking distance or a short drive down the road. Thanks again Blue Water Resort for another memorable experience!!

This was our second stay in as many years. We go a room with kitchenette right on the beach looking north to the lake. Nice little patio outside the room. Plenty of space. 2 queen beds plus two double Murphy beds so bring on the party people. I always forget to bring my whole kitchen with me so to have a few more choices with pots and pans would be an added bonus. TV is older but who really cares. We didn't come here to watch TV. Sun is up till after 9pm and the best show is watching the sunset on the lake. Weather was perfect. Water was very "refreshing" for this time of year. I went in anyway. Very quiet and peaceful place.

We absolutely HAD to stay in Garden City because we had seen review of the lake! End of July when we planned to be there, they were totally booked! Just kept checking their website every day and FINALLY got a spot. Looked at site map and kind of freaked out because our site, #5, looked like we would be blocked in by our neighbor and not a desirable site at all. Wow, we re we WRONG! Lots of grass, pie shaped so tons of room! It IS close to main road but traffic noise was not a problem. And the LAKE! There are no words to describe how truly beautiful it is! We took our motorcycles on a ride all the way around the lake! Rented a jet ski which would have been great except it was early evening, kinda cold and windy and the water was super choppy, but glad we did it! Stayed 2 days and would have liked to stay longer! The park was definitely crowded, but very nice. Definitely recommend Blue Water Beach and Site #5!!

The facilities here are really nice, but there was only a narrow strip of sand on a super rocky beach to actually use. It was over crowded and we got yelled at by this guy that owns a beach house because we set up in front of his house on the beach. There just wasn't much usable room anywhere. Honestly it's a fine place to stay but if I'm going to the beach I'm headed to north beach in Idaho.
