If you get a flat while out adventuring, this is the place to bring it for a patch! The guy who helped us had the tire patched and reinstalled within 30 minutes. Outstanding service. Thank you again!

Went in at 5pm with a flat tire. Took 30 minutes very professional to fix the problem, without changing into a new expensive tire, but patch the tire for an absolutely affordable price. I couldn t ask for better service. Thank you so much!!

We went in with a tire that lost air. It took only about 30 Minutes to repair the tire (patch) and change the spare wheel to the repaired wheel. And this all for a more than reasonable price. I rolled in, no appointment, with a broken truck. Mike dropped what he was doing and spent an hour to get me fixed and on the road again. No BS, just hard work and a very fair price. I tried to give him more! I am forever grateful. And... while I was there. The fellas hooked up two other drive in traveler's like me.

We broke both both leaf springs on our small off-road trailer on a very rough back road and limped into Escalante for repairs. We arrived at opening time on a Monday morning and Sam quickly assessed the issue and had the correct replacement leaf springs to install. All work was done professionally and for a reasonable price and the job was completed by the end of the work day. I highly recommend Cottam for your service needs. We broke the housing on our rear axle on a dirt road outside of Escalante. We had our truck towed to Cottam, the only auto repair shop in town. Long story short, Don the manager ended up doing an amazing welding job on it to get us back on the road towing our trailer back home. He got us out of a very bad situation. I would highly recommend them.

We blew a strut on our truck on a road outside of Willis Creek narrows. We took our vehicle to Cottam Auto Service to see if they could fix it. They got us in right away and checked the damage. Unfortunately they did not carry the part and could not get it in a reasonable time. But they went out of their way to help us and treated us like we were family friends and they recommended a great towing company that got our vehicle where we needed. Thank you Brent, Sam and service guys! We appreciate all you did to try and help get us back on the road. We will definitely be back to Escalante!

They're the only show in town in Escalante. Very busy, and always trying to get travelers back on the road that ruin their tires or suspension on the Hole in the Rock Rd. When I got service, they were short staffed when I needed my fuel filter housing replaced, I borrowed some tools from them to get the job going while they were busy and they were happy to have a hand. Be understanding that they get lots of tourists every day, and everyone thinks they should be the priority. Capable mechanics and for their size operation, decent organization.

Got Flat tire on our way to dry fork-peekaboo-spooky (bumpy�� hole in the rock � road ) ..anyway ,turned around & headed straight to this place ..they got us in right away . Fixed the tire ,we were out of there in 20 minutes!! . I was impressed Honest guys, no BS & decent price Thanks again !!

I had a flat on hole-in-the-rock road on a Saturday. Even though they were closed they were willing to help fix my tire. I really appreciate their consideration. Further, they charged a really reasonable price, much less than my local tire shop would have, especially considering that it was on the weekend. Thanks guys!

We were on the road in our RV and required some immediate suspension repair. Due to shipping time limitations and our schedule we were limited but Sam ordered parts and installed them quickly and professionally. Very pleased with how they tried to accommodate our schedule as much as possible. Very fair and reasonable.

Picked up a two inch bolt on the Burr Trail Road in our tire and barely made it to Escalante in time. It was around 4 on a Friday and the guys were able to get us right in. He tried his best to patch the tire, but it was a lost cause. He was super honest with me and had tires in stock that fit my truck. Best auto shop experience I've ever had. Thanks guys!

Contacted Cottam's concerning an issue with our RV suspension. Sam assessed the problem and procured the parts he could get delivered before we had to leave. We came in at our scheduled time and within an hour we were on our way. Professional and friendly service with a very fair price. Highly recommend this business for anyone and especially travelers needing repairs. Sam is a consummate professional!

These guys really bailed me out of a jam. They were able to get my Jeep in and find/fix a broken fuel pump wire in less than 24 hours. All while being incredibly busy with other people's vehicles as well. I can't thank them enough for prioritizing my vehicle and helping me get home in time to fly out for a funeral the next morning.

Terrible experience. Rude, incompetent mechanics. Brought my 2006 Dodge Sprinter in for an oil change and to fix a tail light. They over filled the oil and on my way it triggered a warning light. They also forgot to fix the tail light. Came back a second time to have them fix these issues. After picking up the rig and driving home the second time, the hi oil light came on again and I noticed my turn signals had stopped working. When I went in for the third time to have them fix these issues, one of the mechanics first ignored me, then yelled and cursed at me, complaining that my sensor was bad and they wouldn t do anything about it. This guy was so hot headed and upset it wasn t even worth responding to his rant. Even if they offered to deal with the issues I don t trust they d fix it. As a result of all this, I was forced to find another mechanic to check the oil (sensor light now stays off) and fix my turn signals, the result of poor work from these guys. Save yourself the headache and drive to Penguich.

Blew a tire visiting slot canyon. Went in for repair. Doug helped out quickly by checking the flat. Searched in the 'warehouse' for a tire that would fit. Got us back on the road in an hour and at a very fair price. Thanks so much!

Had a flat tire off road. Called Cottam before having my vehicle towed. I told them the tire I would need. Five hours later, my vehicle and I got to Cottam. They had done nothing during the 5 hours.They ordered my tire at that time and said my vehicle would be ready about 24 hours from then. They said they could get the exact tire, General Altimax, as my other tires. When I came to get my vehicle the next day, they had put on an Atrezzo tire and said it would have been a week to get the General tire. They charged me for 6 lug bolts and 6 lug nuts until I told them my vehicle only had 5 of each. My General tires have 57,000 plus miles left on them. The Atrezzo tire is rated at about 40,000 miles. Now, I have to deal with mismatched tires on my Forester. I paid more for the Atrezzo tire than I did for the General tire they replaced.Service: Tires

We broke down just outside town, a total power lose, engine, steering, braking.. A jumper box got us back into Escalate, very lucky finding their Auto Garage behind the Phillips 66. They got to it, genuine folks. A new battery and gauge cluster fuse got us back that evening. Great service shop!

SCAM ALERT Do NOT take your vehicle here. (If we could give negative stars we would) My husband is a disabled combat veteran and a certified mechanic that these locals decided to take for a ride. They do not finish the job and are incredibly unprofessional. Lack of work ethic resulted in thousands of dollars worth of repairs once we got our vehicle back home, 1600 miles away. (After paying them for an unfinished job)They ruined our vehicle. A local also informed us that after paying them 2000 dollars they failed at fixing her vehicle as well. When we showed up to get our vehicle the lead mechanic was eating his lunch in our car, insanely unprofessional.
