Paul and his team are the best. Extremely knowledgeable group of people. Always willing to help and go the extra mile for their customers. His turbochargers are top notch units also.

I've never written a review like this before. In every other case I've been able to work things out with a business before it came to this. Just over one year ago I brought my diesel pickup to Interstate Diesel because of a suspected exhaust leak. I chose IDP over other shops because of good reviews and the perceived promise of a skilled set of mechanics who truly understood diesel engines. I gave everyone at IDP (the owner, service advisers, techs) every chance to listen to my concerns, fix issues with the repairs they made, and make things right. I was patient. Every time my truck was returned to me the same issue persisted. This after spending thousands and thousands of dollars for the recommended repairs. The work was shoddy (misaligned and warped manifolds and turbo and exhaust components and missing shields, absolute garbage down pipe replacement, parts not replaced that were promised and paid for).In the end I had to pay a dealership to find these issues and repair them (essentially re-doing the entire job) due to the incompetence or indifference of IDP techs and the blind trust or indifference of the owner to their shoddy work. If I were you I wouldn't trust them with your engine. When there are issues the techs are defensive and the owner is rude and on defense even when you are extremely cordial and patient (questions and speculation are not an accusation). In all I made 13 visits to IDP to attempt to get these issues resolved yet they never were. The truck still didn't run correctly after they touched it and I moved on. I should have probably taken legal action. Also service advisors and relatives leave positive reviews for IDP.

I wouldn t recommend them to my worst enemy. My dad took his truck there multiple times. Poured thousands of dollars into fixing his truck. They never fixed the issue. Every time he took his truck back they said it must be this and then it had the same problem so he would take it back again and then it was must be that . Never did hear back from them after it was still having the same problem and they said if it happens again we will fix it no charge full of lies. Horrible business.

They build race trucks! They did a great job on my 2nd gen and they have a good group of guys working there. Totally recommend for anything small to a complete overhaul. You name it they do it. Thanks paul!

We were traveling in our RV and our towed truck engine had problems. The staff and owner wer great. Other mechanic shops didn't offer even a suggestion for help, but Interstate gave us an appointment and diagnostic tests. They weren't able to fix but were so kind with their suggestions and honesty! Good people!!

Was passing through clearfield and stopped for fuel. Noticed I had fluid leaking from the rear tire of my truck. Called Interstate Diesel Performance and told them of my situation. They told me to bring it in and hopefully get me back on the road asap. Ended up having a rear hub seal failure and a brake rotor issue. They fixed me up very quick and got me back on the road. VERY HELPFUL. Thank you!!

There are many great diesel performance/repair shops in Utah, but I would rank these guys as some of the best. I ve personally known many of the techs as well as the owner and have never gotten anything but the best service and support. Paul once sat on a call with me at 10pm for an hour to help me diagnose my truck while I was broke down at home. That lead to me getting my transmission built by them and I have had a Suncoast built trans before and these guys just make their builds a cut above! I cannot recommend them enough, service you can count on and just down right good people in the shop that never look down on you for any questions you have about your rig.

Once again I'd like to write a GREAT experice with Paul and his team.In June of 22' my truck had issues traveling between IL and UT and Paul offered to go out of his way to get my truck and trailer to his shop while I came and seen family and got the truck ready to go back to IL.In December 22' my truck broke 12 hours before a 10.5 road trip to relocate and see family.Paul answered the phone after hours, had the repair parts I needed in stock (typically a month wait for part) and immediately took them to ups to overnight them for me so I could fix my truck to see family for the holidays.Service is always a 10/10.Running 30k on an idp built trans, truck and trailer weighing over 20k for 20k miles of it and no issues.Any time I have a need for anything performance or repair related Paul has gone over the top.

We have had our van in and out of this shop for the last year. First was a tune up, then a transmission coolant line replacement (which took about 10 days), then re-replacing the transmission coolant lines, then a transmission replacement. When our transmission went out I was hesitant to bring it back to interstate diesel because of their track record of slow repairs, bad follow up, and needing to re-repair what they d repaired, but they asked us to give them another chance. Paul assured me he would be my point of contact for all communications and follow up would not be an issue. This was the last time I heard from him.We brought the van in to replace the transmission the first week of August and got our van back the first week of December. 4 months seems a little extra for a transmission replacement. We were planning on 4-6 weeks based on what other shops had told us. During this time I BEGGED them for some kind of loaner. With two working parents and one car things were hard, but my wife also had a foot surgery and getting her around with a wheelchair and cast in my tiny commuter car was really rough.In that 4 months EVERY follow up communication was initiated by us. I can t remember a single time they called me to provide an update. During that time they replaced the transmission and the new transmission was bad so they sent our van to the dealership for warranty repair. The dealership said they didn t re-attach the engine mounts at all when interstate replaced the transmission. While our van was at the dealership I d call both the dealership and interstate diesel for updates every 1-2 weeks. Most of the time (like 8/10 times) interstate diesel would say there were no updates even though the dealership had updates to report. I ll bet interstate diesel followed up with the dealership about as much as they followed up with me. Even when our vehicle was done the dealership let us know they just needed to resolve a billing issue with interstate diesel and they were waiting to hear back, but when I called interstate diesel they were like We still haven t heard anything, sorry. It sounds like these guys know what they are doing with diesel trucks, but in my experience they are either incompetent or just don t care about other vehicle repairs. They seem to be honest, but they honestly don t seem to care at all.

I was referred to this shop by a friend. They came highly recommended. Although unfortunately we were unable to work together because I bought my own compound turbo and intake piping from a retailer online, that way I could get the parts I wanted and have them powder/ceramic coated at my leisure. I own two construction companies and understand its not always ideal to do labor jobs, especially when you're busy. It wasn't my intention to leave a negative review, just wanted to make someone aware of losing a customer with disposable income.

Paul is not only an awesome guy to deal with, but he is honest and fair. He got my truck in very quick,diagnosed it and took the time to explain what was going on and in detail!He is a true master when it comes to his trade! I would recommend these guys all day every day without hesitation! Don t waste your time going anywhere else!

Claim to not do work on diesel trucks like mine e but i see them working on identical ones frequently. Employees meet you in the parking g lot like your trying g to steal something. Seems like a good way to become humble in a hurry if they walk up on the wrong fella!

Paul and the crew here at IDP know what they re doing! Truly! Best shop in Utah hands down. From every day maintenance and repairs to full blown race trucks they do it all. They work tirelessly to get the job done too. I ve visited on late nights (10pm) where they are still grinding to get the job done! This is the only shop I will take my truck to, and it s an hour and a half away from me! Can t beat the service and knowledge these guys provide. And to top it off they only use the best parts in the industry to make sure the jobs done right!Paul once told me I may not be the fastest on the block, but I provide the best quality I possibly can . No corners cut, no BS run around when you are trying to obtain info. Doing it right the first time is the only option around there.Thank you guys for helping me along with my build. Nothing but great things to say about this place!!

Paul is a great guy and mechanic! He kept me in the loop every step of the way while working on my truck, and really went out of his way to make sure it was done right, and for an incredibly reasonable price. Can t say enough good things about him and his work.

I have been a diesel truck owner for 22yrs and have used a number of Performance shops over the years, some of which were great shops. That being said, despite having to ship my truck to Utah, I gotta say Paul and the guys at IDP far surpassed my expectations in all areas, communication, professionalism, customer service, advice on best direction to resolve the issues I was experiencing and the ability to squeeze me in in a reasonable time considering it was an emergency to get my truck back on the road asap. If you are having doubts about who to hire for your diesel service and performance needs, look no further than IDP, these guys get it done the right way!

Went in for an EFI live tune and ended up getting some transmission work done as well. He did a very thorough job as well as a quick turn around. Straight shooter, honest, and takes care of his customers. I would highly recommend him and will continue to go to him for other work on my truck in the future.

I had a check engine light go on my Duramax. Paid local dealership to repair turbo, worked for a few weeks and light came on again. This time the dealer said it needed a completely new turbo and quoted me $1000 more than they did weeks prior. Completely not trusting the stealership a friend referred me to Paul at Interstate Diesel and Auto. It was late evening and I figured I would leave a message, to my surprise Paul answered the phone. He actually asked me questions that other shops didn t bother to. Such as what I use the truck for. I tow and don t need a speed racer. Paul went over options for me and was very knowledgeable. He recommended what I needed instead of other shops recommending what they wanted to sell me. I know enough about mechanics to know there are many different turbos depending on your needs. After our evening discussion, Paul said he would go back to the shop and get me a estimate that night. He emailed estimate and time frame for repairs within a hour. The price was fair and he scheduled repairs immediately after parts arrived. My truck was done within days instead of weeks as other places quoted. I use my truck for work so time is money. Paul went out of his way for me and he will be the only place my truck goes for repairs. Nice to find someone you can trust that is a honest, fair, experienced mechanic, with great customer service. Highly recommend !

I called Paul after being recommended to Interstate Diesel by Starlite Diesel to have my Duramax tuned. Paul is super knowledgeable and was able to answer a lot of my questions. I am new to diesel tuning so there was plenty to learn. He was willing to answer questions even over the weekend which helped me a lot. I ll take my truck to him anytime I need work done!

Best and most honest mechanic around. I had my car looked at by another mechanic and didnt have a good experience there. Not with Interstste Deisel and auto. Had a great all around experience. Has very competitive pricing and he gets the job sone quick. Super nice guy as well. He keeps you up to date on what the status of your car/truck daily. I will be taking my cars to him from now on.

Called, provided year make model over the phone and asked if we can clear a code they said yes. Driver drove 30 miles to get there and was told they don't work on that type of a truck. Waste of time
