Amazing experience with this company! Metric motors went above and beyond for me. The staff customer service made me feel so welcomed. Anyone having car issues should 100% call this company. I don t usually leave reviews but when a company goes above and beyond I feel I should too. For anyone that lives in Salt Lake City it s for sure worth the drive!

Just got my 67 Ford F100 back with a complete engine rebuild by Metric and couldn't be happier. These guys are real professionals and super nice to deal with. They gave me a written, detailed estimate of the work to approve and then executed it, on time, keeping me updated along the way. The quality of work is excellent and the price very fair. The truck runs like a top. I can highly recommend the guys at Metric!

All I can say is just WOW. Metric motors was such a godsend for me. My 99 Tacoma was having a misfire code and I d gone from the dealer to another private shop with nothing but miscommunication and overcharged prices. Diagnostics were all over the place but finally we got it down to a burnt valve. Metric came to pick up my truck and dropped it off for me because I work crazy hours and very full time. They came recommended from other Toyota exclusive shops for their engine knowledge and work and there s no doubt why. They made it so simple for me and were very clear about the parts they were using (All OEM) and what the costs were right up front. Ryan let me be annoying and call him for updates (thanks Ryan!) and they kept word to their timeline.Cannot thank them enough for taking care of my baby and I know who I ll be going to for any engine stuff for the future.

By far the best business I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Super professional and to the point. And they will do everything they possibly can to help you out. I would give 10 stars of it allowed. I am extremely grateful for their dedication and hard work to help get us our family vehicle back as soon as possible.

I can t say enough kind words nor express the level of gratitude I feel for these people. I had a flat tire and was out front of their shop after closing time. I didn t even have to go in as they saw my situation and came out to help. They aren t even a tire shop but still managed to get me on the road again. They refused any payment and only requested I pay it forward. They didn t know it but we were headed to the hospital in Lehi to see a granddaughter in critical condition. Getting stranded, after hours, made it feel as the world was collapsing around us. Their kindness gave us hope and was so inspiring during a time of such despair. I ll never forget this. Thank you!

Brought my Sti here it had rodknock the only real long part was just waiting for the parts to arrive other that they did a quick amazing and job on getting my car good and ready to go. Would definitely recommend on bring your vehicle here as they do a good job and keeping you informed and what the price would be so the price doesn t surprise you.

These guys are just so cool. I had them rebuild my EJ for a Vanagon build. They delivered it right to my house and were readily available to answer phone calls and text messages as I got it installed. They truly went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience.Service like this is hard to find. Thank you to Chris and the team for being so great.

My previous review from 2 years ago disappeared unfortunately.Took heads in, they told me I wouldn t be charged for inspection when I asked. They inspected a single bearing.They asked me to buy their heads instead of rebuild mine, to which I declined.That s when they told me inspection was $320, or they would keep the heads.

I just wanted to share my experience with Metric Motors. I took my Honda fit in to the Honda dealership prior to taking it to Metric Motors because the car was stalling out and would not stay started. After days at Honda they replaced the crank sensor and wiring totaling $2100.00 and it did not solve the problem. I was told I had crank walk and would need a new engine to the tune of $7k. Feeling depressed, I had it towed to Metric Motors where they found the problem right away and it was a simple fix. Fixed a ground issue and a transmission mount and back on the road. Chris was very knowledgeable, honest and reasonably priced saving me from Honda charging me thousands more for a new motor. I cannot recommend Metric Motors enough. They saved my car from the hacks at Honda doing unnecessary work to my vehicle. I will always use Metric Motors from here on out going forward. The most excellent shop for all your mechanical needs by far. Chris was really nice and explained everything down to a science and made it easy for me to understand. He was also very patient on the phone. I cannot recommend this outfit enough, Metric Morors has a customer for life with me.

I've had great experience with Metric Motors and so have those I referred. I'm now about to turn over a 100,000 mile range on my odometer after their engine replacement on a 2009 Yukon and they addressed any complaints head. Thanks for your service.

Had them build me a long block for a 06 wrx. Runs great! Super smooth! No shakes at idle. Builds good power. I had a few personal problems getting the motor to run but I called them any time I had a problem or question and it got it answered. Would definitely do business with them again! They built my whole motor from start to end in about 2 weeks. Very happy with the end product.

This has been the most awesome experience I have had, and I've been around to other shops! Nobody takes you seriously anymore but these guys were amazing, full head job for my 93 del sol (d15b) and everything turned out immaculate and in 2 days!! I was able to get back to work monday in the delsqueeze. Clayton has helped me through the install and troubleshooting afterward despite my ignorance! Thank you metric motors for saving my butt. bringing my d16z6 for a full build next, 100/10 would recommend to any and everyone.

Chris and his team has earned a lifetime customer! My Subaru spun a bearing over a year ago and I've been searching and waiting for the right shop to trust to do the work. Being in Utah and in the car community, we hear lots of bad reviews and experiences about a ton of shops so I am very hesitant to trust any shop for engine work. I stumbled upon Metric Motors! My new IAG stage 2 block and all the other goodies we put on run amazing since the rebuild. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone looking. Chris spent a solid hour or two in the beginning talking to me about parts with their pros and cons pertaining to what I was trying to build for my future engine and I couldn't be more happier with how the build turned out. They take the time to treat you like family and I hope this shop stays open for the long haul. I will definitely be taking my future business to Metric Motors.Service: Engine repair

I couldn t recommend a better shop to go to. I originally went in to check for an exhaust leak and received way more than I had asked for. Clayton read a CEL, diagnosed my exhaust leak AND aired up my tires. Very quick, efficient and knowledgeable. I couldn t be happier in the services they provided.

Our family has been doing business here for years and we have always had an outstanding experience with Metric. Chris has always been super helpful and timely at fixing our vehicles and ensuring that quality of product and service lasts. Always up front with you about what is going on and repairs needed. Cost is fair. Highly recommend to anyone needing work done on a vehicle.

I chose to try out Metric Motors based on a personal recommendation from a friend who has had prior experience with them, and I liked their Google reviews, also. I needed a new head gasket on my 2003 Honda Civic. I took my car in, talked with them, and they gave me an estimate, which I thought was very reasonable. They explained everything to me, and answered all of my questions. I also elected (my choice) to have the water pump and the timing belt replaced, as the miles were creeping up on my vehicle, and I wanted to have that done, while they were already into the engine.This was actually last fall when I had this work done , so I have had the test of time on the work. Everything is working fine. Metric Motors team did an excellent job, and they stayed with the quoted bid. No gimmicks, no surprises. They also took it out for a good test drive to make sure everything was working properly when I drove it out. I highly recommend this team of qualified mechanics!

I ve been going to metric for over a decade. This visit will unfortunately be my last. I removed the heads, brought them in ready for inspection, it took 5 minutes to inspect, and I was charged $300. Then when I went to get my payment ready, as I was paying, the lady threatened to keep the heads if I didn t pay. Chris builds beautiful engines, and has for multiple people I know. It s a shame his great work is being tarnished by his employees overcharging customers for little to no work done. Goodbye forever metric motors, it was nice knowing ya.

Chris the owner and Mitch the mechanic have been outstanding to say the least when it has come to repairing & replacing the engine on my 2002 Subaru Outback and the rear differential on my 2007 Ford F 150 truck. Fair price quotes were always given in advance and were very accurate when it came time to pay the bill. They always took the time to explain my options after they found the problems, prior to starting the necessary repairs .Their customer service and quality of work has earned my patronage for all of my future vehicle service / repair needs !!!!!!Randy LishService: Vehicle maintenance

Metric Motors is the only location I will take my vehicles for diagnostics and repair. Their fee structure is better than fair market value, their employees are highly skilled and knowledgeable and the turn around is quick. In short, their service is top notch.I have taken 3 vehicles there for various issues. Chris and his staff treat me like family and do not push for upsales. They address the issue at hand with honesty, and inform me of other issues they might find. However, in the end the decision was always mine with what I wanted done.I greatly appreciate the Metric Motors crew and will recommend them to anyone.Services: Exhaust, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

Durring this pandemic I wanted to take on a new project. I took apart my 1.8t engine on the Audi. I went in and got help. They honed my block and cleaned it. Got me on my way. There's just only one problem. I've never actually broken down and rebuilt an engine. The owner took time out of his schedule to help me with specs that I needed to rebuild it on my own. He also gave me advice on how to break the engine in once it's in the car. Completely different that what joe mechanic said to do on the internet. They work on these type of engines day in and day out. The engine has been put back together and ready to be put back in the car. I've always taken my engine work to them to get fixed, and they always give me more value that what I expect. Seems like somethings don't change. Excited to see the engine running in my car. Called the shop to inquire about an engine build on my car, performed under the previous owner. I was surprised when I called because I was treated as if I had done business with them before. They took basic information and said they d look into the build and call back with an answer. They called back promptly, explained the build and answered all questions pertaining to the build. Awesome experience with the company, especially for never dealing with them prior to this experience. Car runs great and thank you for the help.

Brought my miata motor in to be rebuilt two years ago. There were spun bearings on the rods and they couldn't repair it because it's not the brand they prefer to use. Well first they claimed they couldn't get the dowels out of the rods and they couldn't find replacements dowels, so I had to look that up on Google for them. But then it was an issue with the block not being in good enough shape to work with, so I brought them another block. Then it was no parts available, even though they were readily available through my normal sources, which I shared with them. Then it was the brand usage issue... apparently no other manufacturer in existence makes parts as good as wiseco? Even through the rods they are referring to aren't made by wiseco but rather the company is owned by the same corporate holding company as wiseco... Regardless I finally got my motor back after 2 years, they were unable to do the hone and balance though, I guess it's above their skillset as a machine shop to do basic engine work.

I've been to Metric Motors a few times over the past few years. I've bought 2 cars from them and also had repairs done and they are fantastic!!! Chris is friendly, kind, professional and always makes sure the repairs are done right! Its so refreshing to have a mechanic you can trust! I highly recommend them!

I was looking for shop that could build up a new motor for a 1993 Toyota Land Cruiser that suffered a head gasket failure and severe overheating. One shop I called highly recommended Metric Motors for this type of job, and after working with them, I was fortunate enough to experience firsthand why. Everyone I spoke with was very professional and helpful. Since I was not local to the area, most of my communication was with Mitch via phone and email. We went over what needed to be done, that I wanted to use Toyota OEM or better components, the history of the current motor, and what happened. From there he worked up a ball park estimate and then we waited for the parts to arrive. After it was all said and done, the final price came in very near the original estimate, and anything that did come up throughout the process was communicated before proceeding with the work, along with a discussion as to why, and potential options. Communication was excellent from start to finish and you can tell he has a lot of knowledge, experience and passion for what he does. A big thank you to Mitch and everyone else at Metric Motors for all your hard work and breathing new life into an old Toyota FZJ80.Service: Engine repair

After getting my car worked on in Colorado (heating issue). I came to find out that the auto place I went to put the wrong caps on my radiator and antifreeze tank. This caused the antifreeze to spray out all over my engine. While on a road trip in Utah, I was in desperate need of a mechanic. My man Mitch at Metric Motors took me in right away and cleaned my engine and ordered the correct parts for my car. The next day he replaced the parts and got my car working good as new. Really saved our trip. I would highly recommend Mitch and Metric Motors to anyone in needs of auto work.Service: Engine repair
