I was having trouble getting my car emissions tested due to a bad DCL and they were able to get it diagnosed and emissions tested for me. I'd been to several other shops and even the county IM testing shop with no luck. Very happy and highly recommend. I'll be bringing my other vehicles here from now on!

I could not figure out why my battery kept dying. For months I had to jump start my battery at least once a week. I couldn t fix it myself and kept going back to two different shops (I don t want to mention the names) for help and they couldn t figure out what was going on because it was so sporadic. I was frustrated and finally tried Action Alternator. They had the issue diagnosed and the repair completed by the next day. I will be back and would recommend this place to anyone!Service: Battery

I have a 1977 landcruiser with a 3fe out of a 1992 landcruiser. The starter was starting to get super tired, dropped it off and the rebuilt it to better than new. There attention to detail, and quick turnaround was beyond awesome. It hasnt started this good forever. Thanks so much I hope to do lots of future business together. Dropped my truck off overnight with what I thought was a battery draw issue. John called me the next day and said he couldn't find any signs of a parasitic draw but charged my batteries and cleaned terminals. He talked to me for quite a while and I explained the symptoms and he told me what to watch for in the future. He charged me a very fair price for his work. When i picked up the truck it started like it never has and all the symptoms were gone. Been dealing with this issue for years. It has been a couple weeks now and all is still good. I called John back (and again talked for quite a while) to see what he thought and it likely reset the computer. Whatever it was I am glad for the help. These guys literally saved me hundreds. Originally went to Toyota Bountiful. They charged me $696 to replace my alternator. I gave them all the parts too. That was just labor costs. Toyota put in the alternator that was dead on arrival. Toyota wanted to charge another $696. to diagnose and maybe fix it. Nope, I went to Action instead. Action was $320 with the fixed regulator($60) part installed that was bad. They were efficient. I also give props to any company that doesn't do business on Saturday. That means they treat their employees right. Which in most cases means they take care of the customers.

They did a wonderful job with a custom install of my Aftermarket 370 amp alternator.I went to 4 other automotive shops and they wouldn t do it but it wasn t a problem for Action Alternator!!

Called in for a battery related to my internet. They surprisingly found one fast and reasonably priced. As I was leaving my car battery died. Unfortunate for me but luckily I was still there and they had a replacement on hand and did the installation in under 10 minutes.Very friendly and fair prices.

These guys can fix the things others can't. If you've got an electrical problem on a vehicle, this is the place to take it. Fast and not expensive. He even provided me options to safe money instead of just doing what makes him more money.

Called for parts pricing gave him same info as i did a few other places but it wasnt enough he wanted me to bring it in before giving me a price. Annoyed me. It was easy for all the other places.

We thought that our alternator was bad in our Honda Accord so we took it in to have it bench tested. It turns out that it was still good. They were honest! They could have told us it needed to be rebuilt or replaced. I will continue to do business with them. It turns out it was our starter that needed to be replaced. We bought the starter from them and installed it, our problems went away. Good prices! Nice people! I will recommend this place to anyone. Thanks again.

Very honest and fair. I have used their services for 2 different vehicles, with 2 different problems. Both times, their prices were excellent, and their service was above and beyond what was expected. They fixed the issue in a timely manner, and went the extra mile to make sure that everything surrounding that issue was taken care of. I will continue to use Action Alternator for all of my electrical needs.

This company is NOT credible. I went in to have an auto alternator rebuilt and the counter employee originally quoted me a price of $ 189.00. I stated that I was not interested at that price since Generator Exchange would do a complete rebuild with all parts for $120.00.A NAPA one costs $ 129.00 with an exchange.The employee said that he would do it for $ 105.00 . I left the unit and when I went in to pick it up he tried to charge me the original price of $189.00.He proceeded to claim that he NEVER quoted me the lower price.I should have video taped the original drop off discussion since he was COMPLETELY LYING and then he offered to lower the price to $ 149.00.Which is EXACTLY the price of a brand new unit on Amazon not a rebuilt unit.The rebuild kit which includes all the parts needed, cost approx $39.00. This includes the brushes, bearings and rectifier kit assembly.( On Amazon)I am aware that they have overhead, but when an employee changes the quoted price, and then refuses to honor his word, its deception FLAT out.I spoke with the owner and he refused to do anything about it, so this is the only recourse that is feasible. STAY AWAY........They may be a small company but they DON'T honor their word.....

They quickly replaced the starter motor on our Honda Odyssey and when I explained that we had an electral leak of some type, John traced it to our automatic doors that haven't shut completely for a few years. Even our Honda dealer didn't find the problem with the doors. With a little work John fixed them and both seem to be working now (definitely better than they have in years). Always outstanding service and very fair pricing!!

If you are looking for honest and professional service then this is the place to have your auto electric needs met. Mike runs a clean and very well managed business and has amazing knowledge in his industry. I owned and operated a company doing the same type of business for over 20 years and I know quality when I see it and Action Alternator and Starter is hands down the best place to go in Northern Utah.

Currently very disappointed. I've called & left numerous messages requesting a call back to see if merchandise is in stock to purchase. Finally drive over to store, arrive at 5:15p, website states closes at 5:30p, only to see a note posted on door stating effective 9/1/2020 closing time is changing to 5p. Effective. Would be nice to have info updated via web as well. Will come back later. Hoping for really good interaction to raise the rating.

They got a starter for a 1990 911 C4 rebuilt in the same day for a client of mine that would have otherwise been stranded. I highly recommend these guys and appreciate their willingness to get a job done on such short notice. I will be using them again.

They were awesome! My highlanders alternator had been causing me so much stress for weeks because of a handful of problems tied to my alternator and in a short visit they were exceptionally kind while they took care of the issue. Very happy I came here

Only good things to say about Action Alternator! My mother-in-law has been coming here for decades and is known by name by their friendly, knowledgeable, and honest staff. After more than 25 years, she has never been dissatisfied. She has passed it on to my family and we are now frequent customers as well. Despite their name, they do much more than just alternators & starters. Our favorite mechanic there, Mike Robertson, rents one of the bays where he does work for them as well as runs his own full auto repair business. We'd recommend Action to anybody!

Even though we had a mix-up. They were more than willing to correct the issue. They are fast and friendly. I always use them for my starter and alternator needs. It's a good form of recycling.
