Well took my car to them I drove it alway from tooele. Ran great a little slipping between 2 and 3. The took out and said that the transmission was totally gone and would cost me 8,000 dollars to rebuild the transmission. I told them I couldn t afford that. So said they could finance it but couldn t find anyone that would finance that much. So Freddie took upon him self to call my finance company and told them to come repo it. And when they come to pick it up they would have to give him 3,800 dollars to take it. They told him they wouldn t come get it was not worth picking it up. He told y them I abandoned it I didn t. That was after he had my car for three weeks before he touched it. We told him to put transmission back in it wanted running like it was. When we went to get it wouldn t work all the gears were gone. And when we put it to reversed it sounded like the transmission dropped out on the ground. So had to pay to have it towed home. Would not send my worst enemy to the they are the biggest ripoff I have ever seen.

On the slow side. Great service though. Got my transmission rebuilt and wheel bearing replaced. So far so good. Would definitely appreciate some quicker work. My car just sat there for 2 weeks waiting to even be started on.

I have used this shop to make several very complicated repairs to each of my vehicles. First, they swapped out my transmission in my 2007 Dodge Dakota then my 2008 Honda Pilot and most recently did a complete transmission / differential service on my 2012 GMC Yukon Denali. I trust the shop and its owner. When I had a chance to talk with their technician I found he was passionate about his work. Thank you for providing me with quality service!

I'll try to get video uploaded. They've been rather popular on youtube.Take your business ANY other place.Transmission rebuilt Aug. 2022. It failed as expected. Lots of issues with the vehicle and incompetence of owner/staff. I was supposedly sold a remanufactured unit. Save your receipts.Somewhere in here enter a guy that tries to pass himself off as the new "owner."Nov. 2023 car threw codes. Over 20 weeks waiting for "warranty" work. Over the last 5 months they drove a miracle mile. Actually 5,643 miles. Lots of miles for a vehicle constantly having the transmission rebuilt. In the area of 6+ times. I made sure to go in and secure my receipt from the car after their first failed attempt at repair. It shows miles out 146,233 last time I seen it. Today 04/08/2024 it had 151,876 miles when I picked it up.Check on your vehicle. I was told "it's being looked at." They meant through a window because it was parked behind the shop.The incompetence is not limited to the old owner and his staff. Save your text messages. There are great backup apps available.Now I get to go to a shop where they don't play mechanic and have my vehicle gone over to see what else has been messed up.Service: Transmission

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! SCAM SCAM SCAM! We got scammed by this business. Our car has never had issues, but when it started act a little weird, we took it in to get it checked. They told us we needed to replace a sensor and charged us almost $600. Then they said that there was another issue and we needed to replace the fuel pump and went ahead and ordered the part before we even agreed. We asked about how much it would cost and they kept avoiding the question and would never call us back to give us an update. About a week later, we called them and they said it was done and charged us an additional $1000. We picked up the car and immediately noticed that the issue was worse than when we dropped it off. We called them back and they said to drive it around to get air out of the pipes. So we drove it around for another 2 weeks and it completely died on us. They told us to bring it back in and we did. It sat at the shop for a few days and we never got a call with an update. So we called them and now they're saying the real issue is something else that is burnt out. So what I know now is that they are scamming people. They pretend to fix something and they're really not. They just charge us all this money and keep telling us that something else needs to be fixed. IT'S A SCAM!

Didn't tighten a hose and dumped coolant when I drove away. Turned on an interior light in my vehicle that killed the battery and told me to go to AutoZone and get the battery checked to get that replaced on my dollar. Broke my power steering pump and didn't say anything until I asked why the price is higher than what I was quoted.

Great customer service. The manager and staff were very personable and put people first instead of the sale. They were easy to work with and understood my situation. Made a sticky situation less stressful. Highly recommend.

I was super happy with both services I had them perform.Tom was great to work with, super honest & upfront.I was referred by another shop & came in expecting a large transmission related bill. Come to find out, with a little more digging, they found the culprit to be a much smaller (&less expensive) issue. Then I took my car in for some electrical issues & they kept at it until they figured out & fixed the issue. They were also super reasonable with Ajay m what they charged.I would 100% recommend!!!Services: Transmission, Electrical repair, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic

Don't take your vehicle here. After spending $$600 on a nonrefundable part and waiting 2 months they refused to do the work. And refused to give money back. Furthermore other shops won't use parts they don't order themselves. Horrible place. Mismanaged as well

We were having car problems while passing through town. They were able to squeeze us in and check the vehicle out unlike any of the other shops we called because everyone was booked for several days. The fix was super simple after they diagnosed it and because it didn t take much they charged us $0!! I m used to the standard fee just to hook the computer up to the car before you even know what the problem is so this was a big surprise for me! Thank You AAMCO!Service: Transmission

BEWARE!I needed a simple repair on my transmission (front pump). Todd the owner quoted me $115 + parts.The next day he called and said that they had disassembled the entire transmission and that I needed either a used transmission for $1400 or to rebuild $1900.He said something like o It still worked, but showed signs of wear and tear, so they disassembled to find out more.o He could not give a solid explanation. But some theories like the computer compensates for wear and tear, but it was close to the breaking point.o He showed me the dirty oil, but it did not have metal shavings or break material. Looks like it is wearing out .I was confused. I wanted to trust his opinion, but the more questions that I asked the less confident I became. Why did they need to disassemble the entire transmission looking for the root cause? Why could they not give me a solid answer now that it was disassembled?I took the transmission as it was to Freeway Transmission hoping to get a 2nd opinion validating AAMCO s findings.As I talked to Freeway Transmission, red-flags started showing up. It did not sound right to them, now that it was completely disassembled, they would not be able to validate AAMCO s claims.That was a very deceptive business practice that forced me to buy something I did not ask for or need.In the end, I took it to another shop that did the work that I requested and reassembled the transmission for $450.Attached is an image of the disassembled transmission.What a pain and a lot of extra work.Service: Transmission

This shop is awesome. They just saved me thousands! The dealership turned me away for a transmission fluid change because the fill bolt was stripped and they couldn't get it out. The dealership told me I would need a new transmission case (quoted around $7000). So I took it here and Tom helped me find an affordable solution. They dropped my pan to get the bolt out. They found that the transmission case was stripped so they couldn't get a new bolt to thread. They took the time to find a good solution for me to plug up the filler hole so that i wouldn't have to replace the transmission case. I am definitely going back here for my transmission service needs. Seriously the best customer service I have ever experienced with mechanic type businesses. A mechanic with integrity! A Godsend.

The owner of this shop is such a good guy. He took the time to explain what needed to be done to the car, told me what needed to be replaced and what could wait/nice to have. Honest owner. And the price was fair!! So happy I took my car here to get the suspension worked on. I m taking my wife s car here to get the brakes done. I d recommend this spot to anyone.

This place is great and Todd was very helpful. I stopped in while test driving a car that I thought felt like it had a transmission slip. Todd took it for a test drive and gave us some great advice. Tom was amazing! He happened to be the first to be available to look our vehicle over. He got to our car as quickly as he could. So grateful for his quick service to help us get back on the road. Our transmission decideed to evacuate all the transmission oil while driving down the freeway. It was a blessing to be able to get our car back working as soon as possible, it really is an inconvenience when the main car for your family is out of commission. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! We paid $6,500 to get our transmission done, we get the car back and there were problems that we didn't have before. We took it back, it took take 2 days without our car. The mechanic left all the garbage on the passenger seat and there is grease all over the visor. Then the transmission goes out!!! Here we are two weeks later, and we still don't have our car done.The WORST SERVICE I've ever had!Service: Transmission

Had issues with my vehicle and they were able to locate the issue and fix it without saying there were a lot of other issues as well. Tom was willing to look at the vehicle and have it towed to the shop to work on it and have open communication about the repairs and costs. He was friendly and very helpful and honest.

I came to this shop after two other shops in desperate need for one final attempt with my beloved car.Tom the owner ran a free diagnostic, we were ready to move forward with possible repairs. Tom decided before ordering parts to run one final deeper diagnostic to ensure my issues were repairable. It was the best idea. I was saved a ton of money and future grief. They did a trans rebuild for like 4K and it still shifted wonky as I drove it off there lot, I have the warrantee but I don t want to bring it back if they couldn t fix it in the first place. Also had them install a brake kit while it was in there and they installed it wrong! (Used no grease which led to ceased caliper) Which led to scratched rotors on a brand new kit! They ve seemed to screw just about everything up that they touched!Response to owners response: Theres nothing you can do besides refund me.

Came back from a camping trip and heard an uneasy sound in my front end. Contacted Todd at AAMCO and he was able to get my car in the next day. They were able to diagnose the problem and get it fixed quickly. Todd and his staff are welcoming and take the time to understand what s going on with your car. They let me know exactly what was going on with my car and what they were going to do to fix it. Highly recommend AAMCO for all my car needs. Thanks guys for giving me comfort knowing my car will be taken well care of with exceptional service!

We were traveling in our blue chevy van when we had major heating problems. Although he was booked up, he realized this was an emergency as we are elderly and had 3 dogs on our way to Arizona. He put us first and got us on our way the same day. Top notch people would go there anytime.

I've reserved my review for a few weeks now, but I feel like I'll post and try to be as fair as possible. I took my 1990 chevy truck with 67k miles on it there because it's close to my apartment and were the first available shop to look at it.I attempted to drive from NC to UT, and while in Kansas my belt came off and was shredded, the engine overheated. I found a shop to replace the belt and seemed to be running fine. As I drove off and attempted to accelerate I heard a knock and had no power. After listening, it seemed to be from the transmission. We were lucky enough to get a uhaul with an auto hauler to get it from there to UT the next day.I took it too AAMCO in Bountiful because it sounded like it was coming from the transmission. They took apart the whole transmission and found that the clutch was bad and the rings within the transmission were loose. After almost a complete rebuild of the transmission and replacing the clutch($2,300), the noise and issue still remained. After talking with the shop manager (Tom), he was willing to work with me and attempt to find the issue. After an additional 3 weeks in the shop after almost a month, they replaced the distributor and spark plugs and said the issue was good to go. (I drove and it did seem somewhat better). I reluctantly paid ($2,700) and drove off. I noticed the same knocking and loss of power in 5th gear when on the highway (which is my primary route to work). I then had issues starting it. Now it won't even start, even with a jump. It now is a power issue and an engine issue (which Todd advised me if there were further issues it could be).Long story short, I had alot of transmission work done, and the root issue is still there. Now I'm $2,700 down with a truck that won't run and is currently just sitting.WITH THAT SAID... I was happy with the professionalism and willingness to work with me and attempt to fix my truck from Todd and Tom at AAMCO. I wished things would have turned out differently after spending that much money, but it didn't. I also understand their side with workload involved and the time they put into it, and the pressure that gets put on a shop to find correct issues with engines/transmissions of a vehicle. I feel that a 3 star rating is fair on the outcome of my situation. They wanted to help. It was misdiagnosed. I'm out of almost $3k.

Great customer service! Always willing to go beyond to make sure your vehicle is safe and you are happy! the owner Todd and the manager/tech Zaine are very easy to deal with! you do not feel pressured into anything. They give you the facts about your vehicle and you choose what to do with those facts. Thank you for helping me with my car!

Tl;dr sketchiest, laziest, and most deceptive shop I've been to.I called first thing in the morning. Tod told me it a couple fluid flushes "would only take a couple hours." I brought it in and made my time concerns known; and was again assured that it would only be a couple hours. I ran some errands for 5 hours, in the area; and my vehicle was never touched. I didn't see anyone working on anything, the entire day.So, I went in to cancel the job. Tod was laughing on the phone; gave me the 'just a sec' gesture; as he passed by me, back out to the garage. He was out there on the phone for 5 min til I opened the door, and announced to him, I was going to take my keys, and paperwork and leave. He refused to clear out my information or give me the paperwork, for a job that was NEVER DONE. That's my personal information that he shouldn't have.

I have a car through a company and AAMCO works with them when I have issues with my vehicle to get repairs done. When I brought my car to the shop Zane was the person that I talked to. He listened to me and understood where I was coming from with the issues with my vehicle. And how bad it s really been since I first purchased this car. And where I am now less than a year later with a vehicle that doesn t run. Four engines later. He is most of the reason I will be getting a new vehicle. His concern for my safety and making sure I wasn t paying everything out of pocket for all the repairs and communicating with me, while getting any work done quickly and efficiently, I seriously couldn t be more thankful. I will continue to bring all my vehicles for her for any issues or even basic routine maintence oil changes, alignments, tune up s. Trustworthy. Considerate. Just what anyone would look for in a mechanic! Highly recommend coming here!!!
