We had a great experience here traveling through. I made last minute reservations over the phone and received excellent service. We left too early to meet the staff but they were great over the phone. Monument valley was just a short drive away. Bluff, UT is a beautiful and there is a fun view out the back of the hotel. I got one of the best night photos I ve ever taken there. Just beautiful.Rooms: Fun, spacious southwest design with a nice shower and couch

We stayed here a week and a half ago on our annual motorcycle trip.Great place and nice location. The breakfast was excellent. Definitely all homemade and somewhat healthy.A nice change from the standard chain hotel mass produced fare.Would definitely stay here again when in the area.

I have only one regret...that we only got to spend one night in this beautiful hotel. This boutique hotel is a hidden gem! We were on our way from Colorado to Arizona to take my "snow bird' parents there for the season. The room was clean, tastefully decorated, large and comfortable. Jennifer, the owner, went way beyond our expectations of a "Continental breakfast". We dined on homemade bread pudding, baked seasonal vegetables, bacon, fruit...and our favorite...homemade yogurt and granola! And the unobscured view of the bluffs, from our patio, topped the stay!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! I look forward to staying here again SOOON!Rooms: Easily accessible for the mobility impaired, comfortable , quiet, roomy, clean!Noteworthy details: Fabulous views. Quiet. Excellent breakfast!

I stayed at this inn while traveling with my family a few years ago. Nice room, great view, and a delicious cooked breakfast...It was a good night's rest after a tiring trip. After returning home from the trip, I often thought of this hotel and missed it, so today my wife and I drove 8 hours from home and stayed here again for 2 nights. Our children are now off to college, so this time I came with my wife.I enjoyed those memories again that I had missed.

With very limited choices in the area, we decided on La Posada Pintada. According to all the great reviews, this place was clean and quiet and had a great breakfast. Well, they must have forgotten to clean our room or it was not used for a while... I'm not sure what happened. Let's say it was like camping indoors. You might want to inspect some of your rooms after your staff cleans them and before you rent them out. Great breakfast, very accommodating to people who have food allergies. Thanks

This was a wonderful experience in beautiful location! Recommended without reservation; we'd definitely stay here again if the occasion presented itself. Jennifer, the owner, was most helpful in making our reservation and describing how to locate her facility in Bluff, Utah. After we arrived Alley dealt most patiently with helping us understand unique features of our cabin - he came to help us two or three times. The next morning Jule fixed us a lovely and delicious breakfast, with eggs fixed in a way we'd never seen before! We had a very interesting visit with her. (We stayed here in April, 2023.)

I'm soooo glad we stopped at this hidden gem of a hotel. We don't often get to stay at places like this with 3 kids in tow. But they had a couch to go with the two queen beds, so it was perfect! However, it's small enough that it could be a great romantic get away, or even just if one person wanted a secluded spot to escape. Amazingly would full all the roles.I didn't know what to expect because I didn't make the booking. But I loved all the little things: the flower beds in front with a rose garden that would be fitting any lovely establishment, the exterior that fits in perfectly with the Southwestern theme, the beautiful backdrop view of the red rock bluffs that the city gets it's name from, the individual patios behind each room, hammocks for anyone to rest in, a little stand of trees and benches to read in the shade, artisan soaps for the bathroom, a shower with waist high spray options, the cute ceramic sinks. And oh, the homemade breakfast! My compliments to the chef. There was fresh cut melon, fresh made bacon that you could smell cooking as you came in, homemade bread pudding using a lovely seedy bread, fresh made yogurt with a fancy granola of flakes and nuts and pepitas. Just spectacular! This place could've been more pricey with the care, I suppose. There are some things missing from other resorts, pool, spa, sauna, hot tub, stores, all day dining, etc. But that wasn't need for us.We'll definitely be planning a return trip to spend more time in the surrounding areas.

This is my 3rd stay at this hidden gem in Bluff, Utah. We come from Las Vegas to hike in Bears Ears and use it as our base. The location, off the highway with unobstructed views of the sandstone cliffs, is just the beginning of why I give it 5 stars. The rooms are nicely decorated, the breakfasts are unique as Jennifer creates wonderful dishes for all, including people with food allergies, and you won t hear your neighbors but will hear the birds. You are walking distance to the historic fort and museum and also the cemetery where one can learn about the rich history of Bluff. Thanks again Jennifer and staff for another peaceful vacation. Stayed here and loved it! The breakfasts were the highlight! Jule, the cook is a treasure. Bluff should clone her. Lovely flowers, very quiet nights - star gazing easy. Definitely beats most other places we ve stayed in over the many years visiting Bluff. All of the staff were pleasant and kind.

Such a beautiful spot and lovely ownership. You can tell individual thought went into decorating the rooms, all the way down to the mosaic sinks and showers. The room with a balcony was amazing, having coffee on the balcony with a view, so beautiful. And waking up the next morning to a wonderful hand made breakfast was so awesome.Definitely recommend!

The disappointing review below must be in error. We've stayed in 4 of Posada's 10 rooms over the last 2 1/2 years. All are similar in a spacious SW style with fine views from their back decks, all have been immaculately clean, with modern appliances, 2 king beds and a good desk. All come with a Jewel's individually home cooked breakfast every morning. This place is amazing.

Really wonderful, peaceful place. Very quiet. Conscientious management. Stayed for just one night and wish I could have stayed longer. Room was clean, quiet and well configured. Breakfast is a real highlight, with a delicious, creative egg dish. There was also wonderful homemade yogurt and fresh fruit. It was well beyond expectation. Really would like to go back.

First of all - I am giving 4 stars to this motel but this is a bonus with half a star as the actual rating is 3.5 stars. Google does not have the option of halves stars, therefore I am giving 4 instead of 3.5. This would have been a place with 5 stars rating if there had not been a couple of issues which are difficult to be accepted: 1. The motel is mildly overpriced for what it offers. 2. The rooms are Spartan style, very minimalistic furnishings, old, needing desperately renovation and replacement. 3. Cleanliness is just on the edge, borderline OK. 4. The most important problem, apparently valid from April to end of October, are the flies and moths with which the rooms tame. They don't have insects screens on the doors and housekeeping leave the doors wide open for hours in between guests. We arrived after dusk, exhausted from the long drive and were unpleasantly surprised with over 40 flies, not to count the moths, in the room. Then we spent a couple of hours chasing all of them, so that sleep would be possible. You can only imagine the extra exhaustion after a flight, followed by a 6 hours drive. Now the good: 1. Location is great, scenic, just a walking distance from a wonderful local restaurant- The Twin Rock Cafe. 2. The breakfast is excellent, really good, very nicely served. 3. Staff is nice.

The place was in a great spot. The place is owned by Native Americans which is cool. The room was cool and the paintings as well. The views from the back are breathtaking. The breakfast was organic and it was good. The best thing about this place was probably where the Hotel is located.Rooms: The rooms were nice and looks like hand-painted and it was great with the paintings.

You never know what you're going to get when you book a non-chain hotel in a very small town. This place was a lovely surprise. The rooms are large, comfortable, well equipped, and quite charming. There are balconies on the front and back for your enjoyment too. They serve a truly homemade breakfast each morning. The cost of a stay is not cheap but at least it's a very nice place.

Bluff is a tiny hamlet (population 240) stretched along U.S. Route 191 in the southeast corner of Utah. It's roughly equidistant from Moab, UT, Canyon de Chelly, AZ, Mesa Verde, CO, and Page, AZ, which makes it a convenient, if not the only, spot to spend the night.Unfortunately, the lodging options in Bluff are few and rather dismal. There's an unreasonably expensive "Resort & Spa" nearby; the rest is a handful of 1-star or unrated hotels and motels.Arriving late, I didn't expect a red carpet, but I was at least hoping to find a receptionist on the premises - no such luck. After trying to call the hotel (straight to voicemail) and much searching in almost complete darkness, I found a short note and a key to my room pinned to the front door. The room was straight out of a horror movie: filthy, dingy, and dark. I couldn't discern what the floors were made of - was it linoleum, plywood, or dirt? There was trash, dust, and debris everywhere; you couldn't make one step without hearing something crunch underfoot. The worst place was the bathroom (see the photos), with a filthy bathtub, minimal toiletries, and soiled towels. Bed linens were threadbare and gray; no blanket was provided. The night was rather cold (about 50 F), but the noisy HVAC system high above the patio door didn't make the room any warmer - I had to put on every piece of clothing I had.A coffee machine did work, but only one paper filter was provided along with a tiny amount of ground coffee of unknown brand and origin. Was it even coffee? After a dreadful night, I couldn't tell. The only redeeming quality of this hotel is its location: it's quiet, and there's a nice view of the rocks from the backyard.I didn't chance a breakfast on premises and was happy to leave the place behind me. Absolute disaster, to be avoided.Rooms: Filthy, grimy.Walkability: Nowhere to goFood & drinks: Tiny amount of coffee, only one paper filter.Noteworthy details: One-handed clock?!

La Posada Pintada was an amazing hotel! We stayed for one night and they had everything we needed. The room was clean and adorable, there was plenty of space and the hotel had seating areas in the front and back that were perfect in the morning and afternoon. They had shampoo, conditioner, and soap for the bathroom and the best continental breakfast I have ever had! I would recommend this hotel to anyone driving through town or staying for a while. Staff was friendly and very helpful. 10/10 for sure!

My husband and I spent a delightful week at La Posada Pintada. Jennifer, the owner, is kind, attentive and informative. Plenty of lush towels and boutique soaps in the bathroom. Very comfortable bed with smooth linens and fluffy pillows. Breakfasts were fabulous & are served responsibly with limited reserved seating on the patio or in their dining area or can be packaged for takeout to our room. We are vegetarian and they always remembered that. We stayed in the cabin, with full kitchen, bedroom & livingroom. Very quiet and private. Conveniently located to walk to Fort Bluff and easy drive to many hikes and ancient ruins. I would love to stay there again next time we are in Bluff.

Great hotel, stayed one night in early July and can't say enough about it. Clean rooms, upstairs had outside sitting areas. Everything you needed was in the room, including cowboy soap which I really liked . The best part was breakfast and it was phenomenal. Another guest and I commented how we usually don't eat much but ate everything today. I will be back for another stay.

Our stay here was Amazing! Beautiful and quaint spot with a homely feel to it. Wonderful breakfast offered - home cooked, tranquil and serene views... I have to say the hummingbirds that come and join you in the back patio are lovely and really make for a wonderful outdoor dinning experience...Locals are very friendly and very apt to helping navigate your way around to the local sites or hiking destinations within minimal driving distance.
