I had a mixed experience with customer service at the Snowpine Lodge. The front desk staff were generally great--friendly and helpful. However, I had a few issues that I think lie more with the manager. The hot water for my room was out the entire 4-night trip. Each day I reported it to the staff, and they told the manager, but there was never any fix or follow-up. As you can imagine, hot water is pretty important for a ski trip. There are only so many cold showers you can handle. Second, I was initially double charged on my credit card (before and after I arrived). The charge was eventually removed, but when I called to report it the manager said he would call me back, but never did. It was a large charge, so an explanation was warranted.Otherwise, this is a nice hotel right next to all the ski amenities. I liked it, but for a luxury price, the service wasn't so luxury.

The Snowpine is new with excellent facilities like the bar, restaurant, game room, ski shop on the bottom floor and great lockers and ski in and out with ease. Sadly, there are some issues. The staff is often well meaning but not very helpful. The rooms albeit new were not built with sound protection from other rooms which is crazy and both my friend who had a seperate room and I could hear our neighbors as if they were in our own rooms at times. Ending on a positive note, the food at the bar and the restaurant was probably the best in town.

Such a great facility and location. But poorly managed. For example:1. Hot water didn't work in our bathroom. Front desk guy admitted they knew about this (had been broken for a long time) but didn't tell us until we raised it. They then told us we had to go to a bathroom in the common area on the next floor to take a shower or get hot water for anything else!2. The room was too hot and you can't control your own room temp. When I called the front desk, the guy said he couldn't change the temp without logging into some website, and he didn't know how to log in! Crazy! I sweated and tossed and turned all night, only slept about 4 hours.3. We parked right across the street where other cars were parked. No signs saying any restrictions on parking. But we got a $75 ticket from "Interstate Parking Company." The guy at the front desk said yeah, that sucks, I got one too when I first came here. But no warning to guests! So mindless.4. The key to my room and ski locker didn't work. I had to make 4 visits to the front desk (taking elevator up and down each time) before they finally got it right. All of the above were major problems that they could easily fix if they just got their head in the game. Instead, it all ruined my stay.

I had a total disappointment with a room downgrade and management communication here!Though the hotel has a great location, nice heated pool and hot tube, stylish & modern decor, I do not recommend it because of the unacceptable customer relationship.Upon check in our initial room had someone's clothes in a drawer, wet carpet near one side of the bed with weird odor and the only window was blocked by snow mass on 2/3 (not informed about this at all).We insisted they moved us to another room (not management initiative). It was a standard king and we're missing a bath tube and a coach which was essential for us.After our room downgrade no one checked on us. During check out a manager told us they are giving us 20% off the room rate (as a refund for our pre-paid room) and dismiss of any fees on our balance. What was a surprise that it didn't happen! For a week we called 3 times and left messages without any call back. The end: no refund or any compensation.

We were so excited about staying at this hotel given its wonderful location and cozy facilities - however the service here is atrocious. After a long day of skiing, there s no hot water, if something is broken in the room, no one cares to address. We attempted to get help with these issues numerous times, and no one could help, just empty apologies. We needed a cart for our bags during check out - no one came to help, they asked us to come get it.And then no one is apologetic. It s terrible. How is this a four star hotel? No compensation was given for anything (oh actually - they told us they could waive out $50 resort fee on our $2000 stay. Why thank you)

Edit: you'll notice that our and any other negative review is responded to with empty apologies. That they never returned my emails, calls or in-person requests is all you need to know.We regret staying here. The location is amazing and the overall vibe is great. The reason for our low review is the room and the service. We didn't sleep at all because the every time the heat kicked on, there was a loud banging noise. So every twenty minutes we were woken up. When we informed two different staff members at the front desk they didn't seem to care. We emailed and called after our stay to express our discontent, but never received a response. If you want to be a four star hotel, you need to maintain your facility and bend over backwards when someone gets zero sleep for several hundred dollars a night.

My daughter and I checked in to the lodge on 12/28 and my wife arrived on 12/29. When I went into the room I could smell bleach, but, I assumed that was due to people bringing their wet ski gear...but, when my wife arrived she could smell mold. I was looking for the source behind the bed and I dropped my glasses behind the nightstand; when I pulled the nightstand away from the wall a piece of baseboard fell off and behind it was black mold.Once I was able to pull the bed away from the wall more baseboard fell and we found more mold. Upon further inspection of the room I noticed several pieces of baseboard that were loose, I pulled them away from the wall with my hands. The photos show what we found.Hopefully, the mold was confined to our room and not in the ventilation system. For those staying there, all I can say is Good Luck

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate his 40th birthday, and we normally do staycations at the Lodge at Blue Sky, but decided to switch it up since Blue Sky is incredible but not really in the mountains. We were hoping to ski, but just a bit too early. Beautiful location (I ve eaten at the Gulch post-hike before), and the view from our room was amazing. A few things that were a little disappointing were the condition of the hallways (carpet had stains looks like they had some leaks) and the bathroom finishes were kinda sad. The complimentary toiletries were tiny and really cheap. Based on walking in the lobby and the look, feel, and scent there, I was expecting a little more from the room. The hot tub and pool were amazing. Dinner at Swen s was good (see other review), and Stillwell Spa was lovely and delightful. I think if we had gotten to take advantage of the skiing, we probably would have been so distracted that we wouldn t have noticed the little things. But overall, I d say it was nice. Probably wouldn t stay overnight again for a staycation, but I ll definitely return to the spa and get a day pass for the hot tub/pool (which I think is possible?).Nearby activities: Skiing at Alta and Snowbird

For how much this hotel charges, the service and experience here are TERRIBLE. For example - we didn t have hot water during our entire stay here (something you d expect at a minimum of a hotel of this calibre during the winter months) - and their response was just empty apologies.Stay away from this place. The only great thing was Tom, from valet. Hes great and goes out of his way to help you.

During my recent six-day stay at this hotel, which commands a nightly rate in the luxury segment, I encountered a blend of positive and concerning elements. While the establishment's ambiance initially promised a premium experience, the reality diverged in several aspects.Instances of unprofessionalism and subtle racial insensitivity left a mark, creating a less-than-ideal environment. Additionally, the absence of temperature control in the room, coupled with persistent noise, detracted from the anticipated comfort. One notable issue was the inconsistency in staff conduct, exemplified by a variable check-in experience with Kayra. The process proved to be notably prolonged, and Kayra's approach conveyed a discernible bias against third-party bookings. This treatment, delivered in a discriminatory manner, added unnecessary frustration to an otherwise eagerly anticipated stay. If the hotel wishes to discourage third-party bookings, a more transparent approach and withdrawal from such platforms would be preferable. All guests, regardless of booking method, contribute equally and should be accorded the same level of respect and efficiency in service. This episode underscored the importance of consistent and fair treatment for all patrons, irrespective of their booking source. The disappointment extended to the swimming pool experience. Despite the temperature falling below the specified 85-90 range, the staff declined our request to increase it, rendering the pool unusable. The inconsistent service from the employees, who proved to be a mix of hits and misses, was evident. On a positive note, I would like to commend the assistance provided by Tom in facilitating transfers during our stay. However, the overall experience underscores the need for the establishment to address and standardize service quality across all facets of the guest experience. However, the most notable discrepancy occurred on the final night at the hotel's restaurant. While enjoying a meal, our table was singled out for ID verification, an occurrence absent on previous nights. Such a selective approach, seemingly discriminatory, raises concerns about the establishment's commitment to impartial service. In upholding their standards, the hotel should ensure consistency in policy implementation, treating all patrons equally in every aspect of their service. They either have to ask ID of everyone sitting in that area or not. Despite the fact that I showed my permanent resident card which is well accepted at every airport, they insist to see a passport which I was given at the check in 6 days ago.I felt like they have a lot to learn from hospitality and have a trained staff. They should leave interns as a night manager who is clearly incompetent and lack of experience. You can put most beautiful furniture in the room but if you don't have the right people, it leaves a horrible taste in guests memory.

We were very excited for our stay - but unfortunately left wishing for better serviceThe hotel did not have hot water while we were staying there - however, more than that, we were saddened by their lack of apology or explanation. Any service issues were ignored or given fake apologiesWould not recommend

We stayed at Snowpine for our honeymoon, reading the reviews we decided it was a great choice! The spa was amazing, and Cammie was an amazing hostess, as well as the amenities that the spa offered. The lodge itself unfortunately did not offer the same hospitality. The television in the bedroom did not connect to Bluetooth as advertised, the time it took the Pub to get food was so long, it might've been faster to go to the restaurant, and the pool/hot tub were closed at 8 am!For the price that the price and luxury they advertise, they did not really meet our expectations.Unfortunately, Snowpine is not really a resort we will be returning to.

There s a certain expectation of service and amenities from a four star hotel in Alta - this hotel did not meet those expectations unfortunately. Any service issues were forgotten and minimal apologies were givenThere are likely better hotels in the area - stay there

My wife and I decided to stay at the Snowpine for our 10 year anniversary, we decided to get some s'mores making material that was offered at the front desk, while waiting I had the chance to talk with Bill who is the general manager and upon learning that this was my wife's and mine 10 year anniversary Bill got very excited for us.What has made this stay memorable was the awesome staff who were professional and helpful, the room was clean and had a cozy feel to it with a nice view out the window, the building was pleasant in appearance with a rustic feel to it and the amenities seemed well maintained and were enjoyable.I will definitely look at staying here again in the future.

A Quick note about GinnymarieTo the Resort Owner: Give this woman whatever she wants to retain her.Future Guests: Tell her hello and you've heard how wonderful she is when you check in.Stayed here for a work conference and it was a great experience. I have been to other resorts in the surrounding areas (e.g. Sundance, Deer valley, etc.) The accomodations were great, the food was good, and the meeting space was well suited for our needs. This place is beautiful and has beautiful views but what made this place really stand out to me was a particular staff member at the front desk. Ginnymarie is hands down a consummate professional in hospitality. She is exactly what you expect when you stay at a 4 star resort. She remembers the little things, provides details to make your experience exceptional, and followed up to ensure we had what we needed and if our stay was going well. One morning I watched her while seated in the lobby ...open the restaurant, check in guests, valet up guest vehicles, all while helping me with a work presentation need ...without skipping a beat, and with a smile on her face. I saw how hard she worked to ensure every guest had a positive experience. I saw that's how she just treats everyone and that feels very rare these days.

Im absolutely disappointed in this location. I was so excited to come eat here after hiking with my niece. I was told upfront, I can sit anywhere in the balcony with an open table. A table was open, but had some food on it that people had left behind and just like any other restaurant I ve been to, a waiter will come by and say I ll come over and clean that for you right away and greet us . That is absolutely not what happened, the waiter came after 10 mins, with a mean look on his face, started to pick up the plates, and stated with a very very rude tone - Next time, don t sit on the table until it s clean I told him he was being very rude to us and got us another waiter. He did this in front of my niece, she felt afraid and uncomfortable after hearing him and he also did it in front of other people as well. This is absolutely not okay, another waiter came and took care of us, but we had a horrible experience. I decided to post an Instagram story and tag their social media to see if management would reach out and make this situation correct, they seen my story and didn t even bother to reply or reach out. I would not recommend this place, because they will make you feel like you don t matter.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. Their customer service is horrendous. There are no 4 star level amenities here. If you encounter a problem in your room - no will fix this issue or provide you compensation.

I have spent more than a dozen nights at this hotel and even hosted small business events at this location. I have never experienced such poor customer service than tonight when we checked in for some much needed R+R. Our waitress Lexi was rude and made us feel like we were a bother the entire night. The hotel checks many boxes, dining experience is not one of them.

A group of friends and I went to the Gulch for drinks and appetizers after a hike. It s a beautiful place with amazing views, but the service we received was subpar. The bartender was rude and impatient and our server was unfriendly too. Two women, not sure their names with the high prices and poor service I m less likely to return. The food and drinks were good. I would only come back for a special occasion due to how beautiful it is there.

We recently stayed for a Saturday night at the Snowpine, and the entire experience could not have been better. The staff were extremely polite and helpful, the room and common areas were impeccably clean, and the outdoor swimming pool and hot tub area were so beautifully designed and well-maintained. I could not recommend the Snowpine Lodge more highly.

Spent our anniversary at the Snowpine for the third consecutive year. Jenny Marie greeted us with a smile, helped with a room change and then surprised us with a charcuterie board waiting for us in our room. We enjoyed the pool, ate dinner at the restaurant and slept great. Really a great spot, friendly vibe and now one of our favorites.

We happened upon the Snowpine Lodge because of a road closure on our way to the Cecret Lake trailhead. The front desk staff was absolutely wonderful. They gave us a map, pointed out alternative routes to take, fully explained the trails and what to do in case we encountered wildlife. We had a fabulous morning hike thanks to them and we re so impressed that they took such care in helping us out considering we were not guests of the lodge. We ll definitely stay here the next time we are in Alta.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The decor was beautiful- my grandma wanted to steal everything for her home :) The service was good and staff was very attentive for a small hotel. The drawback was the breakfast situation- I was only told of a breakfast buffet, which isn t cost effective for a vegetarian or someone who eats a modest breakfast. Overall, the rooms were clean and I did not encounter any issues.

First off the lodge itself is beautiful, art work throughout is impressive. location is terrific, decor is nice, bathrooms/ski lockers, lounge areas all lovely, but there are some glaring problems that just should not be there at this price point.First off, the swimming pool is cold, they said it's set to 90, but it's really in the 70's and essentially unswimmable in winter. I went to front desk and they said it is set to 90 and they went down to test it and said it was very low and then blamed it on how busy the lodge was and the extra demand for hot water from the guests. Well, if that's the case then set up a different furnace for the pool, but for a ski in/out hotel to have a nice pool and it be cold for all the skiers is unacceptable. The hot tubs and wood burning fireplace in between them are great though although i feel the hot tubs could be a bit hotter. The service by bellmen, front desk and house keeping was great, but the service in the restaurants was just severely lacking. There seems to be no manager there running a tight ship and holding anyone accountable. It's literally shocking. There is coffee out on main floor, but not tea. Hell, even the peruvian lodge has coffee and tea out for their guests in the morning. There is always a long line to be seated for breakfast which is inexcusable given that there are empty tables inside the restaurant, tables are not cleared and cleaned nearly quickly enough which is an eye sore and cause for delay. The breakfast buffet the week I was there did not change at all, same things every single day and the food was ok, but nothing special and given that they couldn't get breakfast right I chose not to have dinner in formal restaurant and choose to eat at the bar which was mediocre at beast. As was the case with breakfast the menu was exactly the same all week which was shocking and truly disappointing. The service in the bar was pretty horrific and that was the case every single night over the course of the week and it wasn't even that busy as I went a bit on the later side. They have a spa which includes a private grotto, sauna and/or steam room, but as a guest you have to pay a extra spa charge to use these facilities. Again, at this price point those amenities should be free to paying guests. They are included for all guests right next door at the Rustler so not sure why they wouldn't be included at the snowpine. The gym is meager although they do have a nice yoga room. The gym has no outside view which is a shame. They should have put the gym where the ski shop is which would have included a nice view of the mountain and made it much more appealing to use.All in all, some very good stuff, but imo far too much bad for a hotel of this quality and price point. Hopefully they will improve.
