Gary and the staff of Aamco Webster, TX not only completed my transmission rebuild efficiently and effectively. My experience has always been positive this is the second time I have had to have my 2019 Jeep Cherokee repaired and both times they have explained each and every service that has had to be done on my vehicle. Thank you Gary for being so kind and caring. So many times as women we get taken advantage of at automotive repair shops and I for one am glad I found one that I can trust.

Thank you Gary for you help and also your team I put my truck like a month ago I was experiencing transmission issues, I know that s very delicate so 2 weeks went by and I got my truck but It still was experiencing issue so I took it back. Then they told me that they found another issue so they proceeded on fixing it took 2 weeks as well, Gary kept me updated I got my truck back like 2 days ago, im happy how everything turned out. I recommend this place and I would come back for any repairs on any of my vehicles.

Gary Roos and his staff are fantastic. They were very thorough diagnosing the issues with my vehicle. Once they knew what was needed, Gary let me know what was needed, how much it would cost and how long it would take. Gary kept me informed throughout the process and made sure I understood everything once it was ready. I would give them 10 stars if I could. I will always refer business to Gary and his crew and will also continue to trust them with my vehicles.

I had my car towed to AAMCO for transmission malfunction.Gary told me it will take about 2 to 3 hrs.Four hours went by so I called Gary to find out any news.He told me not yet.So I called again around five and asked him will it be done about closing time he said yes.The next day came so I called Gary around 10:00am and he told me that I am not the mechanic I just answer the phone. So I told Gary you are making me a little concern first you told me it will take 2 to 3 hours and now it s been 24 hours and you still haven t looked at it. So I got in my car and drove to Aamco shop my car is sitting outside the shop with the hood closed and Gary was in one of the bay doors to the shop had his back to me smoking a cigar. So I just stayed in my car and watched to see if there any activity going on around my car and it wasn t.So I walked up behind Gary an ask him are you Gary and he said yes I been trying to call you about your car. I just put my head down and said really my phone has been with me all of this time I must be having phone problems. So what did you find out and he told me that there is some mechanical issues with the transmission. I knew that already so how much will it cost me to fix it.He told me first it will cost me $1100 to just to open it up and another $4000 for parts. So I asked him how do you know how much it will cost without opening it up.And he said because I know.So I asked him why do I have to pay you $249.95 if you know what s wrong with the transmission because you didn t do anything to the car. I already knew that it was mechanical issues so why do I have to pay this cost. I paid the bill and spent another $120 to have my car towed home. And he tried to block my car in so the wrecker wouldn t be able to hook onto my car. I remember Aamco back in the day when I was a teenager they have been around for awhile.Good customer service. I don t know what happened here at Aamco on Hwy 3 in Webster TexasThis was the worst customer service I ever experienced.Gary you are something else I hope I never run into another person like you again. Please save your $500 and go somewhere else .Guess who called me (Gary) He was pissed for me calling him out.So he asked me why did I write that review about him. The fact that he called me, agitated, and calling me a liar. This totally speaks to the level of his obvious lack of professionalism and customer service. Further more how do run a diagnostic test on the car, you don t have any evidence/paperwork from said test but you are comfortable charging $249.95. For what your word! He was being so slick with his mouth when he called me he actually admitted that my car was in the same spot that the towing company put it. It had never been moved according to him/Gary. He had previously said that he had to put my car in neutral in order to bring it in the garage/shop to run the diagnostics. So exactly who s lying? When he was telling me about the cost of repairs (in the thousands) he never mentioned financing options. So when he called me I asked why wasn t that option offered/discussed with me. Gary s response you didn t ask me and that s not my job. At the end of the call Gary stated that he was placing this discussion on YouTube . He also said that he could continue this banter all day because he is on the clock. Dude seriously, the more I think about it, I will be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau.

Drove my 2010 dodge van with 140k miles on it in on a Tuesday late afternoon for a simple transmission flush, told them i would pick it up next day after work. Got a call next day that a transmission flush "wouldn't fix my problem". They needed to diagnos exactly what was wrong in the transmission and that would cost $895 to take it out open it up and put it back in and Once they opened they could tell me an exact price for repair. He said they would let me know by end of day thursday. No call thursday. I called and Gary said he would call me when he knew. Friday mid morning I was then told that about 4 or 5 things were wrong with it and it would cost 5k to repair. No thank you. We then told Gary please put transmission and parts in trunk and we would have a tow truck come get it that afternoon. He said no we can't do that we have to put it back in and you can pick it up Tuesday. Called me Tuesday and said it was ready for pick up. I couldn't come get it that day as it was Halloween. Wednesday morning I went to pick up my van. While in the office I asked for a print out of the things wrong with it and Gary said sure. Paid the $895 and left the office with my receipt and said paperwork. As I was driving home I looked at the paperwork and it was just the standard liability paperwork they have to provide. Called Gary and told him "hey I asked for paperwork of stuff wrong with transmission" his response was ,"everything is wrong with that transmission." I said ok "I just thought you were going to give me the list of things wrong." His response was, "there are 500 working parts and we don't keep notes." Horrible horrible experience. I should have read the reviews first.

Gary heard me talking about my car issues over a poker table and offered to take a look. I scheduled a time and was quickly in and out within a couple hours. He quickly diagnosed the problem, explained things so my non-mechanically inclined mind could understand, and resolved the issue! Great Service! I would recommend to anyone and everyone!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I recently had a highly disappointing experience with AAMCO, and I feel compelled to share my frustration with their services. My car was experiencing some unusual noises under the hood, and after reading some of the positive reviews about AAMCO's service and they looked at my car for free, I decided to give them a try. Regrettably, their diagnostic process turned out to be a complete disaster, that would have resulted in an unnecessary expense and a was a significant waste of my time.Upon taking my car to AAMCO, I explained the symptoms to them, emphasizing that the engine had a noise when I was doing slow speeds and idling when driving at normal speeds the noise was faint or not there. I expected them to thoroughly assess the situation and provide an accurate diagnosis based on their professional expertise. Instead, AAMCO misdiagnosed my car with a faulty engine stating it had no oil in it and the engine needed to be replaced, They contacted my extended warranty and told them my car had no oil in it which was false , and my warranty company denied the claim. After reading some of the 1 star reviews about AAMCO Misdiagnosing other peoples cars in the past.I was determined to get to the bottom of the issue and baffled by a bad engine diagnosis because the car drove fine no issues with the engine when I dropped it at AAMCO, I sought a second opinion from a different mechanic. To my astonishment, they quickly identified the real culprit: a faulty AC compressor and motor mount issues. that had been wrongly overlooked by AAMCO, and the new auto shop stated that my car was over full by a estimated 2 quarts of oil not empty and we were both wondering how the oil got in there and over filled if there was no oil in it when I dropped it off, that could have possibly been a costly mistake too had it not been caught by the new shop. The entire experience left me deeply dissatisfied and frustrated with AAMCO's service. Not only did they fail to accurately diagnose my car's problem Their lack of attention to detail and their failure to consider all potential causes of the issue were baffling and inexcusable. Moreover, the inconvenience and wasted time caused by AAMCO's misdiagnosis cannot be overlooked. I had to endure 2 days of needless emotional distress.I strongly advise anyone considering AAMCO's services to exercise caution. Based on my experience, their diagnostic capabilities and attention to detail are questionable at best. It is crucial to seek multiple opinions and explore other reliable repair shops before making any decisions based solely on AAMCO's assessment. In conclusion, AAMCO's misdiagnosis of my car's problem, overlooking a faulty AC compressor instead of identifying a non-existent engine issue, was a disheartening mistake. Their lack of professionalism and poor service have left me with a sense of frustration and disappointment. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend AAMCO to anyone seeking accurate and trustworthy automotive diagnostics and repairs. I took my car to Hanson's Automotive in League City and they are doing awesome so far, they got my estimate to my warranty company in a timely manner which is approved now and got my car rental set up for me too, just been a better dealing with them all together.update 12/2/23 To the owner that responded it was the ac the warranty paid for the repair I paid a little over 100 out of pocket, my car is still running with same engine you diagnosed with a bad engine, what other evidence do you need???

We are very satisfied with the service we received at AAMCO in WEBSTER!! Gary was very patient with us and explained to us the diagnosis, the options, and the timeline. He was always straight up on his responses and gave us time to make an informed decision. The transmission runs smoothly now, and we are very grateful that it was fixed right and in a timely manner. The financing option was a big plus as well. Took the sting out of an expensive service bill. Thanks for everything, Gary ILMER & LAURA MARADIAGA

During a recent long-winded back & forth with my warranty company about a claim on my vehicle, it was refreshing to be able to call a shop where they always answer the phone and my questions clearly and concisely. That much I greatly appreciated. 5 stars

Crooks...misdiagnosed my transmission. Showed me a "leak". My driveway was spotless. Talked me into a rebuild. 1 week later it had the same problem as before. When I took it back, they said I needed a new computer and wouldn't honor the rebuild warranty if I didn't let them replace it. Total cost was around $5k. It still didn't run right. I checked the fluid. Overfilled by them. Had to pump out close to a quart. After removing the fluid, it ran better and the "check engine" light went out...for a while. Less than 20k miles later, the light is back on. Analysis shows same faults as before they "worked" on it. Main issue is a computer communication (PCM/TCM) error. The computer isn't communicating with the transmission. Don't want them touching it again for fear they will "find" something else wrong and charge me thousands more.Lots of research later, I found that I can replace the computer myself for under $400.

Can't say enough about Gary and this shop. Something felt just "off" with our minivan and to me it seemed like the transmission was having issues. Gary calmly listened to me explain my concerns, let me ask all my questions - which he answered in detail for me (I try to do as much auto maintenance as I can at home, but transmissions is something beyond me). That was me just stopping by one day to ask questions and get info.I dropped the van off a couple of weeks later. They had it for 24 hours, drove it around to try to understand and replicate the issue, ran several diagnostics, check the computer modules, and everything came back clean, clear, and no issues. They couldn't find anything wrong with the transmission and (kindly) suggested that I was a little over sensitive. This was a ripe opportunity for a dishonest shop to invent problems even if there weren't any and give me a huge bill. Gary and AAMCO went in the other direction. I'm very appreciative and will definitely bring my vehicles here for any future transmission work, should it be needed.(This review is 2 months after the incident, transmission still runs/feels great - they were right and I'm just overly paranoid.)Service: Transmission

My experience is via my son in law, however,I was witness to this process. Horribly dishonest, unprofessional, After Specifically being told their van was "being road tested you'll have it tomorrow!" 13 times, literally. "Yes, it's done. Pick it up tomorrow morning"Then being called the next morning stating ," No, is not looking good. We're waiting on a part. Then needing to be test driven, sorry. " repeatedly. WHAT?? An entire MONTH this went on. A family with children, babies, working, being played with like this.Disgustingly inexcusable.I butted in calling the facility myself. Explaining the situation,I was told, " I told your son (in law) every time he's called, that when it's ready I'll call him! And just so you know, it's been like this since covid. I have vehicles that have been here for 6 months.(WHAT??!!) So, (and I quote) Buckle up Buttercup! This is how it is!I'll call your son when it's done. We had to order a part and then we'll test drive it"Again??I explained that I'd like to swing by and simply see the van, check on progress, he said I was more than welcome to but it wouldn't speed anything up.3 hrs later, my kids phone rang telling them their vehicle was fixed. (??)Returned 1 month later, greasy hand prints, Progressive plug- in on the floor, but returned. Why this much shade from 1 person, the same person, every time?A reputable company with fantastic ratings, even their corporate was extremely surprised by this behavior.Good luck to the next customer.

Dropped off truck and they called me back in 2 hours and said the transmission was throwing a "low pressure" code. Said it needed to be replaced. I asked for the code and he couldn't remember and had thrown the paperwork away. Had codes read somewhere else and there was no low pressure code, another code related to the torque converter. Be careful with this place.

100% recommend AAMCO, for any transmission repairs you may need! I was so scared to deal with a transmission shop being a young female who knows absolutely NOTHING about cars, however they did not disappoint. I have a 2018 Ford Fusion that stop accelerating May 31, and was towed to AAMCO on the evening of June 1st. I called Gary and let him know my problem, and he ensured his team would be able to look at my vehicle and diagnose it within a day, which they did! Unfortunately, my problem wasn't a small one. I had a torque converter issue, which required my transmission to be rebuilt. I was quoted for my car to be finished on a Friday evening, and it ended up taking a week longer. I was that customer that called multiple times a day, and i'm sure Gary was tired of me LOL however he ensured that I could call as many times as I like, and i did SORRY GARY!!!! He was very patient with me, understanding, and explained things thoroughly. Thank you so much for repairing my car!!

The service provided by AAMCO, Webster, TX was deplorable. We had the transmission completely rebuilt at a cost of $4125.36 CAD four years ago and had them check it each year as we travel from Mexico to Ontario Canada each Spring. This year on the way from Mexico coming into Texas, the transmission started making odd noises and not operating properly, so we brought it back to them for service on Tuesday, April 12 and were eventually told the torque converter had broken causing the transmission to need another complete rebuild that eventually cost us $3975.60 CAD. The original warranty had expired even though there were only 40,000 miles on their rebuilt transmission. We have now incurred over two weeks of living expenses to stay here while the repairs were done. We went there several times to retrieve personal items and on one of these occasions we found the refrigerator not working. They had disconnected the house batteries without notifying us thereby shutting off the refrigerator which caused a loss of some $200 worth of food. We were told the batteries had to be disconnected to work on the transmission, not true, the house batteries on any RV are not connected to chassis. Then when we tried to go back again as we forgot some personal items we needed because we got involved in cleaning up the mess in the refrigerator we were told that we cannot keep coming back every day to retrieve items. The manager, Gary, then became very belligerent saying it was our responsibility to remove everything from the motorhome before having it serviced. How is that even possible as we are traveling it that motorhome and had been living in it for four months prior to this event and we still had another 3000 miles to get to our home in Ontario ! Three times we were told the motorhome would be ready by the end of the day, once on Friday, April 22, then again on Monday, April 25 and again on Tuesday, April 26, and not once did we ever get a call back saying it would not be ready as we were told. On April 26 we went there to find out what the delay was and were told that since we were being belligerent calling all the time to ask when it would be ready that he would not release the vehicle until "maybe" Friday, April 29. Not knowing what else to do at this point and living expenses mounting we decided to contact AAMCO head offices and file a complaint. Shortly after having done that, we received a call from Gary saying our motor home was ready for pickup. We went there, paid the bill and retrieved it around 5pm and drove away. Now after having driven it a few miles, It seems to be working properly, but we are far from satisfied with the service provide by the AAMCO service centre and in particular the manager, Gary's attitude, in Webster Texas. We choose AAMCO to repair our transmission when it broke four years ago because they had nation wide service since we travel extensively throughout Canada, the USA and Mexico. We presumed they would be the best option to fit our needs, now I m not so sure we made the best choice.Service: Transmission

Gary and his team did a great job on servicing our car. They gave us a quote and stuck to it. Very professional. The little things also count big. They gave us a ride home and on completion of the job, due to logistical issues on our end, they offered to drive the car back to the house and drop off the keys. This was very much appreciated. I would certainly recommend these guys to anyone due to their professionalism and customer service. Thanks again!

The reason for my one star review is that there was nothing wrong with my car's AC. It was not leaking, and you just wanted me out of your office. No one offered to fix the issues or even took the time to show me where my car was leaking from. If your technicians had taken the time to actually hold a vacuum on my AC system, you would have seen that there was no leak. You saying that you didn't charge me means nothing since you didn't do the job that I was asking you to perform on my car. I would definitely not recommend this place to any one. Just go somewhere else.Service: Air conditioning
