They are crooks they don't listen to what you tell them I took my truck in and told their just had a oil change they still changed my oil.and charged me 300 dollars to do so. They couldn't fix something so they just charged me to rotate my tires. If you want people that don't listen to you.this is your place to go highly dissatisfied

Outstanding service for the past 20 yrs on all my vehicles. Reasonably priced and the guys in the shop have a great attitude. Say hello to Billy and Brian when you go by. Scott and Tony probably deserve a high five as well!

Took my Fusion to get a repair a couple of days ago. When they "fixed" what was wrong with it they gave me a call and told me to pick it up. Once I was there to pick it up the battery was dead and they had to jump start the battery and give it to me. The next morning I tried to start up my car but the battery was dead again. I thought there was something wrong with the battery so I replaced it and started my car. The next day the new battery was dead again. Called McSwain Automotive to tell them that this started to happen right after they "repaired my car". They told me that they did nothing wrong and I would have to take it back to get it fixed again and spend money for that fix they caused. If you take your car to this place they will fix your issues but also create new issues in the process and expect you to take it back to them so they can take your money from you again. Least yall could do is admit your mistake and repair what yall caused.Service: Electrical

Don t waste your money or time here.We made an appointment and still waited over a week to pick up our car. They are terrible communicators, don t apologize or acknowledge their own errors, and don t provide written notice of what they will charge you. So disappointed and disgusted with this business.A family member recommended this shop when our car started showing signs of a leak. We called - they were very busy so we made an appt a week out with Scott. We dropped our car off the day before our appointment and waited for a call and waited and waited. We called them at the end of that first week asking for an update. Scott informed us they had 72 cars on the lot and they hadn t got to us yet. (So why make an appointment?) He said he would update us. We wait the following Monday we call back. No updates. We tell them to call us back. They do call! But they tell us our car won t start and probably needs a new engine (it had been starting just fine). They hang up saying they ll run more tests. We are scratching our heads what happened since we dropped off our car? Tony calls back explaining he had the wrong car info for us and our car didn t seem to have any leaks!!! He said he ll run more tests but doesn t provide the potential cost when we asked. We call again the next day and Scott informs us he has no updates. We call back and tell him we are picking up the car because they re clearly wasting our time. Tony gets on the phone right away and says our car is undergoing testing. We tell him it better be drivable (like it was when we dropped it off) when we get there because we are taking it somewhere else.They bill us $282 for waiting over a week and running a pressure test. We tried to dispute the charge because 1. They didn t give us any idea of what the bill would be despite all our lovely phone calls and 2. We waited a week and a day - with no initiated communication from them - to get the answer there s no leak. He did us a favor by knocking off $20. The test they ran is useless in our opinion because for all we know they ran the test on the wrong car.We ll be sure to clue our family member and anyone else who asks to their poor service.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

If I would have read the reviews before I sent my car there, I would have NEVER allowed them to work on my car. I read 1 review that said this is the kind of shop that people tell you to avoid, and that is so true. My sons car stopped on him,so this shop was only 4 minutes away for tow that's the only reason why I chose them. Anyway, I had the car dropped off on a Tuesday. I called everyday to check on progress and guy kept saying you have so many people in front of you, that's fine but they didnt get to my car until Friday. On top of that I spoke with them prior so they acted like they could accomodate quickly. On Friday they called me and told me car would need an air compressor system which would be 2700 dollars and that he put plugs on the car. He said as of now it will be 542 dollars! I asked him aren't you supposed to call the customer to get consent before you start work on the car 1st to see if they agree? He became silent. Then said I can undo what was done. So, when he called back and refigured the price he said it would be 444 dollars just for a diagnostic!!! Nothing fixed on car, just a diagnostic! Highway robbery, very bad business. I DO NOT recommend. If you're smart do not take your car here. You will be out of alot of money and very disappointed.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

First, let me say that McSwains was easy to work with, and staff was very polite. I knew going in that my timing chain needed repair. My husband had just replaced it and all recommended parts, but had a slip , and we knew it would have to be torn down again to correct. Despite telling them this, they could not give me a price, or even a rough estimate, before tearing it back down.After getting into the issue, I got a friendly call telling me what we already knew, and that the repair would be roughly $1200. The only other cost would be for fluids needed. I agreed. I also asked if they could look at my backup camera that has quit working, and was told they would.Three days later, I got a call saying that my car was done, and just needed a test drive by the mechanic. Then, I was told that my total was $1800 and some change. Then when I inquired why the difference, I was told that a couple of other parts broke during the repair. Parts that my husband had just replaced!I went the following day to pick up my car. I paid the bill, then asked about the camera. I was told it needed to be replaced, and would be almost $600. I told them I d let them know if we were going to move forward in replacing the camera. A friend had just had a whole camera system installed in her vehicle that did not come with one. She said that her camera wasn t that expensive, so I decided to shop Amazon to see if I could find one. And I did; just under $70. Granted, it was not from the manufacturer of my vehicle, but decided it was an affordable risk.I ordered it and my husband installed it. Nothing. No harm, returned to Amazon for free. As soon as my husband put the old one back in (to fill the hole) the camera magically started working again. No idea as to why. So we averted another $600 bill. And we re not sure what diagnostics were done to indicate that the camera needed to be replaced.I should note that we are very happy with the repairs. Just not the almost $600 difference in cost from the original estimate.One last note: apparently it is not procedure for the techs to use plastic or paper to cover the carpet in the car s floor during repairs. I have grease on my light colored floor mat, and the plastic threshold of the driver s door. It was pretty frustrating to not get my car back like it was dropped off.I m not sure if the pros outweigh the cons. It was just enough that I decided to leave a review. Not sure if we would use them again, in light of the cons.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I didn't find them honest they over charged me more then $1500.00 for just replacing engine support and screwed up my transmission and I had to tow it to the another shop as soon I realized there scam.

They diagnosed my check engine light, figured out it was the fuel pump. Replaced the fuel pump bled the fuel lines and repaired a crankshaft pigtail. It cost a little more than I wanted to payed, and took a little longer than expected, but they were friendly, courteous, and did great work. I'm having issues with my turbo and will be returning to them very soon because I know they'll fix it right.

This was my first visit and I feel confident in their knowledge and trustworthiness. They were very thorough in performing maintenance work when they identified another problem with my F-350 diesel. They could have done the repair and charged me several hundred dollars, but instead suggested I take my vehicle to the Ford dealership for warranty work. I will be back.

I really wish I could rate 0. These people aren t mechanics their thieves plain and simple. I brought my truck in here because of a recommendation and will never be back. I brought it in recently to have some wiring redone and they spray painted my old battery connectors and called them new and they billed me. Brought it in for coolant system work payed them and 3 days later my radiator blew and they billed me for that. Brought a different truck in for heater core work and 2 weeks later the heater core fails again and they bill me again for more work and yet they messed it all up the first time. Do not go here. Literally go anywhere else in the area.

This is the second time that I have had my car repaired at this location. Each time the car was ready the next day and the price was what the owner said it would be. Both times they offered to drive me home if I did not have a ride.So unlike the others, my experience was very positive and the result was simple. My car worked perfectly, like the manufacture intended.Lastly, the owner and his son were very personable. I think that is a trait that you don t see in a lot of people.-Joe

This is that mechanic shop that people tell you to avoid but we had to learn the hard way. WE will never use this place again. If I could give a 0 I would. They couldn't figure out what was wrong and did so much unnecessary work, kept it for entirely way too long, then told us one price and when we went to pick up it was over a $1,000 more. BAD BAD Business and I would not recommend this mechanic shop to anyone. NOT HAPPY.

Storefront was clean & presentable; desktop was organized. Scott was professional & courteous on the phone. Brian did a great job diagnosing the problem & had good communication with the desk worker. Scott called me with my options & authorization. I've dealt with some "shady" shops that would do the work without proper approval just to make the money. The shop area was clean & not a single drop of oil or grease in the interior of my truck. Honest & courteous to a fault.

I've been there 3 times and they've always taken good care of me. My old Pontiac is still running thanks to their good work. Very friendly, and I highly recommend them.

These guys are the best. Family oriented business with great service, quick vehicle turn around and they fix it right. Reasonable pricing and trustworthy! Can't say enough good things about The McSwains!

They all were very nice, I felt as if they were very honest. Explained everything to me very thoroughly. They were quick to get my car back to me. As far as auto shops go I would definitely recommend this place and go back again myself. Thanks guys!

I've been taking my vehicles for years to McSwains and I have always had amazing service. Great honest people and very fair prices. They have always went over and above for us. I would strongly suggest McSwain Automotive to anyone looking for a great shop.

I have taken all my cars to them and never had an issue. They were able to work on my Nova and my mother's new Impala with no issues. Highly recommended.

My experience with Mcswains Automotive was horrible. Took my vehicle there to get fixed and my bill was much more than I was told it was going to be. I got the vehicle back and it still did not run right after they told me it was perfect and I was going to be very happy. I took the car back to get the problems fixed and my car sat there for 3 months and I never got a call from Mcswains to give me any updates or anything. I spent $3000 the first time I took the car there and like I said the problem was never fixed. I got the car back after the 2nd time and had to give them more money. I am beyond unsatified with the customer service and would not reccomend Mcswains to anybody.

If I could write "0" stars I would. The owner was very rude and unprofessional after I asked for an update on the status of my vehicle. He went on to brag about his show car and the awards he received for it. This had no bearing or importance on the work requested on my vehicle. When I arrived in person an employee walked me to the back where my vehicle had been parked "untouched" for several weeks. I am confident he and his crew can do the work, however, the lack of professionalism and "good ole boy" bravado outweighs their ability. If you are not one of his chosen few then I would "stay away' and let the owner take a vacation.

I've taken my my truck to these guys a few times now. Recently, they replaced my transmission. They did it at a fair price and the truck runs great now. I highly recommend them.

I have been taking cars to McSwain Automotive off and on for the better part of 20 years now and I have never been steered wrong. Have even taken cars there after I left Rockwall over a decade ago. I recommend them to anyone I know who lives anywhere near their shop.

I have used Billy for 15 years. They have worked on diesel trucks, a Mini Cooper, Ford Ranger, F-150 4x4 and have never steered me wrong. I highly recommend their auto repair shop.

Brought in a Nissan Maxima, due to the timing chain guides. Engine was making a clicking noise, but running fine. They said yep, it's the timing chain guides. They replaced the guides, chain, and spark plugs. $1800. No more clicking noise but the engine was mis-firing, and idling really rough. Brought it back to them, they said it was a bad electronic motor mount. About $500. I said fix it. Got the car back again, and it was running really bad and mis-firing. Again I brought it back to them. They said it was a small vacum leak and an Airconditioner compressor bearing. $300. I said fix it. Got the car back and guess what. It was mis-firing and would hardly run. I gave in and took it to the Nissan dealer. They said the timing was off, due to the chain being put on incorrectly. $1200. but at least now the car runs as it should. Would I recommend McSwain? NO NO NO NO

We have brought all of our vehicles here for almost 10 years. We have always been impressed with their work and prices and the fact that they have always explained what the problem is with the car in normal people terms!
