These guys are one of only a handful of shops that still understand us shadtree mechanics out there. After trying to find a shop pretty much all day to press a couple of bearings into knuckles I had off of the car. The many shops we talked to didn't do it anymore due to liability or just wouldn't do it because they weren't the ones doing the job. The 2 or 3 shops that we did find that would do it want several hundred dollars to do it. These guys had pricing that I was more accustom to. (They were actually cheaper than Pep Boys that used to do it for me at $45-50ea.). My wife was the one to take them everything and come to find out the bearings that's we took them didn't actually have the seals included(I was under the impression that they were), so after several rounds of phone calls we were finally able to get them everything they needed 30 minutes before they closed. We were at a level of acceptance that they weren't going to be done until Monday. Next thing I know I get a phone call from them to say they got it done and send my wife back to pick them up! Amazing! Thank you for going above and beyond and staying after close on a Friday to make just 1 customer happy! Gives me hope that there are reputable shops still out there!

After getting a great quote on replacing my starter l got my truck towed to the shop in the morning and they had it done the same day. Definitely recommend and utilize their services again.

Brett has been awesome!! As an owner of a 2020 fusion, my warranty has just expired and my car started making a noise that scared me. Took my car to Brett and even though he is extremely busy, he got me in to drop my car off on Friday morning at 8am. by 11, I got a message that the problem had been found and fixed. Brett is a very honest man when it comes to diagnosing a problem and i m sure you will not be disappointed!Service: Steering & suspension repair

This is the best place around to get your vehicle repaired, B&S have been keeping my families running strong for years. Brett and his crew are awesome, even the shop dog is cool. I highly recommend B&S automotive.

We have always felt like we were dealt with honestly at this auto repair shop. Brett and his team are fast, efficient, friendly, and upfront about what's ACTUALLY needed now to make your car safe! He never starts work until a complete analysis has been done and what the charges will be! No surprises at the end, either...you CAN TRUST this man and his work.

Took it in for a clunk in the front end and the owner had me replace parts in the front end. I paid parts plus labor and drive off and clunk is still there. Owner basically told me we can replace more parts and pay for labor until we figure it out.. I grew up working in automotive shops in Houston while going through school and know how easy it is to be dishonest in that profession. Brett at B & S is one of the most honest and diligent people I have met and has done a fantastic job on every one of my vehicles that I have taken to him. Price has always been reasonable and work has been done quickly. I would recommend (and have done so) to everyone who needs automotive work done.

I have been a B & S customer beginning in 1988. They have performed all the maintenance and repairs on all my cars and trucks; my family's cars, and I have referred many friends to B & S and they have all been very pleased with service, price, quality of work. They guys at B & S are very good at diagnosing the problem and fixing the problem the first time. I feel they are very fair with their pricing.

I have lived in the San Antonio area for about 6 years, and in that time have lived in Universal City, the far west side, and finally in Castle Hills. I mention all that because I have tried time and time again to find mechanics near me, for ease, since I moved out of U.C. However, I have finally just decided to always take my vehicle over to B&S in Universal City as they are by far the best mechanics. Not only are they incredibly knowledgeable and competent mechanics, I really like the way they conduct their business.It's important to understand that while sometimes you can pinpoint what is wrong with a vehicle, sometimes you are just going off the symptoms. In such a case Brett would lay out the issues, the possible solutions, costs of each, and which one he recommends and why. I do price check B&S each time I go there, and they really do offer you the best price.I just recently got a new car (hail finally did me in), but my prior vehicle was 20+ years old but it ran like a newborn thanks to them. They really do go above and beyond for you, and I have recommended them to family and friends.Reading the reviews on here its easy for me to understand why they have 5 star reviews and so many long time customers.

Brought my van here to diagnose a sound I couldn t track down. They fixed it quick and for a great price. While there I mentioned what a local Auto AC shop had said about me needing a whole new AC system in my Corvette ($2300+). They said they could look at it for me. Brought it to them the next morning, they flushed and refilled the AC and it has been working great since. Saved me a ton of money! Great shop, HONEST, and affordable!

I have used this shop for several of my vehicles, service has always been superb. It is very evident the staff enjoy working there and the atmosphere is always welcoming. From the very first experience I was impressed. I am not one to use a mechanic shop however one afternoon my wife had called me at the office in a frantic about her van making a loud noise and she was scared to drive it. I left the office and rushed to her location. I had a meeting to attend that afternoon so I didn't want to start messing with it. She had happen to break down near B&S Automotive, with several shops in site I drove by to see which ones seemed more presentable about their shop. B&S was clearly the best choice, mechanics were laughing and carrying on conversation as they worked on there selective vehicles. Pulling up to the shop I spoke with the owner, his team was able to diagnose the problem right away and began to fix the problem.What was impressive is the way the owner had respect for his employees. They were about to go on lunch and he was very hesitant about asking them to work on my vehicle knowing it was their break time for lunch. He stated he didn't want to make them work on it until after lunch, it really was not a problem however one of his employees standing by stated they would go ahead and do it. To expedite the repair I drove off to procure a new alternator while they removed the old. My wife and three kids were sitting in my truck as they fixed it and before long my wife was off and running again.B&S is now my go to shop. I have shared with my office about my first experience and some have gone to get there vehicles repaired there and they too received the same service. I am grateful to have found this shop. I appreciate there profession and above all I appreciate m receiving a Christmas card from them to let me know that I am one of there valued customers.

My uncle recommended this shop when I needed my 2002 F150 4x4 worked on. I have taken it back twice since then, because they have always been fair and honest with me. I recommend this company when friends and family ask for someone to fix their vehicles, because they get it done correctly the first time in a timely manner. I have been taken advantage of in the past, and I am happy to say that this is the company that changed my perception when it came to auto mechanics.

Went in for a bad battery. Tested B.O., found Idler Pulley was B.O., found Serpentine Fan Belt was B.O. Bret and his staff of Mechanics are very punctual and professional handling my situation. As it was needed for me to wait for the repairs to be taken care of the wait was only approximately an 1 1/2 hour. Thank you B & S Automotive and Staff. Another great experience with B &S Automotive. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of auto repairs.

You aren't going to find more honest guys than you will at B&S. I was recently told by another shop that I needed brake pads and rotors for my car. I wanted a second opinion. The guys there looked at them and told me I didn't need them yet. They checked on them regularly for a several months to a year and then told me I better look at getting them replaced soon. Their prices are very fair too!

I recommend B&S because they DIDN'T fix my car. I had it towed in with a suspected bad alternator. Bret called and confirmed my suspicion and told me that the part was unusually expensive. He also told me that he saw a recall notice for that part and that my vehicle may qualify. He urged me to call a dealership before he did any work. My VIN was a match and the dealer fixed it for free. That kind of honesty is hard to come by and I KNOW who will be getting my business in the future.

Vehicle overheated, so they replaced water pump and thermostat. When I went to pick up I didn't start initially, and only to find out a wk later I would need a new engine for a blown head gasket. Just wasting $500 at this place. Very friendly but I would recommend getting a second and third opinion before having someone work on your vehicle.

I am a retired Air Force First Sergeant , I have been going to B & S Auto, for over twenty years.Brett Wetherell is one of the most honest business men, I have ever encountered. The work on myvehicles was done right, the first time, at a very fair price. I highly recommend B & S Auto, and bringa "treat" for the dog in the office , she will be your friend for life !

Just the factsBrought it in for A/C issues. Cost was somewhere in the 600 dollar range, receipt is somewhere, clutch assembly. Picked up car at night A/C worked good. I mostly drive at night/early morning. After a week or so I noticed the A/C wasn't getting nearly as cool during the day. Im a procrastinator and I work nights so it took me another couple weeks to get it back over there. Paid another ~70 dollars for a recharge. Again the A/C started doing the same thing during the day. After another couple weeks I called them up and spoke to the owner I believe. He said to bring it back in. I asked if i can get a comprehensive inspection of the a/c this time, since this will be its third time in for the same reason. He raised his voice, not yelling, more condescending, and said something like are telling me how to do my job now. I said "dude, don't be a dick." He laughed sort of and hung up! Great place. Recommended for women and children

Wow, an honest mechanic. I thought I had a big issue with my vehicle, and it was nothing more than bugs blocking a line up and preventing air flow. The owner didn't even charge me anything, because it only took him a few minutes to find the issue. He could have kept the car all day and told me anything, and I wouldn't have known any better. Five stars.

I have been a customer here for 20 years and my cars are diagnosed quickly and services done without unnecessary repairs. Bret and his crew are always courteous and fair. B and S Automotive is a rare find in the automotive repair business.

I have been to a lot of auto mechanics before but not like b&s automotive, I had a/c trouble with my truck and took it to Brett to check it out, first of all a/c is needed in Texas in summer, Brett got the parts I needed an fixed it right the first time, he was fair, honest, he was just a straight shooter no game playing around.I my self own a business and know you can please everyone, somebody has to complain, people think they can order parts on the Internet cheap but that's what you get cheap parts an trouble down the road, your vehicle isn't cheap so don't put cheap parts on it!B&S Automotive is the only shop for me.DON'T BE CHEAP JUST GET IT FIXED RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. They seem to have fixed the problem that I went in for, but created a new one worse than the original. Prior to taking my car here I was able to drive it, however as I was driving away I noticed a rattle. Long story short, my car is no longer safe to drive. And given the holiday I cannot take it back in. I decided to call and leave a voicemail. I called, the phone rang for a bit, then it automatically hung up. They have no voicemail. I will not be returning here.
