Couldn't have had a better experience, Jeff took care of everything I needed when I had to take my truck in for rear axle work. I called many other shops but very glad I brought it here. I will definitely be back and recommend this shop to anyone needing transmission or axle work.

Jeff, Lee and the guys there are so down to earth , they will explain everything that s wrong with your transmission as well as show you. They are very professional and always do quality work, I have dealt with them before in the past on one of my other vehicles. So when my truck s transmission started slipping I didn t hesitate call Jeff and his crew, as usual he made things really easy and affordable for me, they also warranty there work. I just went back for my 10 day inspection on my truck, everything was good to go and Jeff told me if I have any issues to come back and see him. This shop goes above and beyond the call of duty for its customers, which I greatly appreciate. I will always recommend you to family and friends. Thanks guys!

This transmission shop did a GREAT job for me. My 2007 F-150 just turned over 200K miles and the automatic transmission failed. The Ford dealership wanted $4,000 to repair it. This shop used actual Ford parts - all OEM to fix it, gave me the same warranty and repaired it for around half the price! They towed my truck for free, communicated with me during the entire repair process, they were upfront about the costs and had the repair complete in just a few days. There are no leaks and my transmission is quiet and shifts smoothly. I highly recommend this transmission repair shop because there's no gimmicks, no sales pitches, just great service! Darrin C.

I started having issue with my transmission passing through San Antonio and stopped at A+ Transmission in Universal City, Jeff Dickinson the owner greeted me and was very professional and courteous, knowing I was from out of town he check out my car quickly and found it was needing a solenoid he had the part in stock and had me back on the road quickly. Other shops could have tried to sell me a complete transmission has others have tried to in the past. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone needing transmission repair

On March 2013 my minivan was hard shifting from 1st to 2nd. After working on what I could, and seeing no change, I decided to look online for the pros. I spent several days looking online for the best reviewed transmission shop out there. A+ is one of the very few I found. Spoke to Nick, nice guy, courteous and professional, not pushy at all. They will work with you about payments, and they're friendly. It's been 7 months since I had the van worked on and is still shifting smoothly and has made road trips possible again -as it supposed to. Thank you Nick and all your crew! I recommend their services to everyone.

Nothing but positive things to say about A Plus Transmission . Owner is mechanic turned owner. Great customer service, knowledgeable which makes you feel at ease. Will work with you on repair time, keeps you updated on your vehicle status throughout the repair. Offers a great value for top notch service. I will definitely come back when I need additional repairs and will recommend to others in need.

I took my vehicle here to get my transmission fluid changed - I called 4/5 other places and I was quoted anywhere from $120-260. I found the most reasonable price BY FAR here so I was stoked. Not only were they very friendly and helpful, they got me in right away for an appointment with only about a day notice. When I picked up my car they gave me advice on some issues I was having without trying to sell me anything extra or recommend costly services I didn t need (which happens everywhere I take my car.) So I was very thankful to have people who genuinely wanted to help me rather than just make money off me. I will recommend them to everyone, they did fantastic work!

I am floored by the patience and consideration of Robert, an A+ employee who helped me over the phone. I explained that my truck was already at another repair shop, but that I was worried about being ripped off. He answered every single question I asked, and explained too many details to list here -in spite of the fact that my truck was going to be worked on by another shop. He told me that the quote I received from his competitor was fair; he told me what questions to ask my repair man, and he advised me on what additional work I should consider having done while the truck was disassembled---all out of the goodness of his heart. In a culture constructed on capitalism where the goal is always to make the most money, Robert, and A+ stand out as a rare find. I recommend a company that exhibits that sort of integrity, honesty, and kindness to anyone in need of transmission repairs.

I highly recommend A+ Transmission! These guys are very good at what they do. So good that I've brought both of my cars here for clutch replacements. Each time I was invited in to see exactly what the issue was and how it needed to be fixed. They work hard and they get the job done right the first time. I'm very happy with the work done and the customer service provided. I am a lifelong customer. Thanks guys!!

You decide. I took my vehicle in because the gear box and transmission would shake when I stopped. They told me a week for labor repairs etc. I got the vehicle back almost 2 weeks later. It was good and then the shaking came back and a noise about 3 weeks later. I took it in again. Again they said a week and I anticipated about 10 days. I did get it around 10. A month after having it out of the shop it makes a squeaking noise and clanks. I had the shocks and struts, wheels and axles checked and they are good as they are all new. I'm debating taking my vehicle back that is still under warranty with them or if I should spend more at the dealership for another set of repairs.

I took my business truck there because they said their turnaround time was a 5 days. I should have just went to aamco. They took out my transmission and Sat on it for a week. Did nothing for an entire week. My business is my livelihood. Once they finally got around to "inspecting" it, I told them to fix it. Once again I'm promised 3 days... No. Another whole week goes by when they finally finished. I get it back and start driving off when I realized they broke my speedometer. I go back to let them know and they try to say that I brought it in like that. So I went off and to shut me up, more lies about how they're going to fix it. I went home and had my regular mechanic look @ it & he confirmed that they broke it putting it back together. They did not take care of my vehicle. Liars & shifty people there. I expected better from this place that has multiple locations and BBB certified. That's my next step. They are not trying to fix their problem.

I am going to do my best to take my emotional discontent out of this review and try to stick to the facts. I took my 3 year old chevy car in for repairs. In the beginning, customer service was pleasant. I am told that I will hear back from them in 1-2 hours with an estimate. I never hear back and decide to call them 6 hours later. I am told that it didn't look good and that they would need another day to dismantle the transmission and that it will cost $398 to do so. I decide to proceed. I never hear back from them so I call near closing time and I am again told it will still take them another day. They finally call me on the 3rd day. Their opening sentence to me is, "Do you plan to keep this car?" - Talk about making my heart skip a beat in a bad way. He then proceeds to ask me my budget. I inform him that my max is about $2,500 and anything over $3k would put me in a bad spot. The agent then tells me that my transmission needs to be rebuilt and will cost me $4,700 to repair it with a 1yr/12,000 mile warranty. Floored by this amount I ask him for a day to talk to my wife and think it over. During the next day I call 4 different places and 2 of which, use my VIN # and the diagnostic codes I read before I took it in and tell me that even a BRAND NEW transmission wouldn't cost that much. So I decide to deny the repairs. The agent asks me why and so I explain to him what I was told. He then asks me to give him a chance to talk to his manager and call me back. Upon the call back he tells me that if I am willing to travel to 3-4 different stores/dealerships and pick up all the parts myself, that A+ could fix everything for a total of $2,700. I then ask how much was being charged for labor and he tells me $1,700... So, let's take a step back. A+ is marking up $1,000 worth of parts by an extra $2,000. And even knowing my budget, they wouldn't budge on price until I told them I had multiple quotes and all at better prices. At this point, A+ has lost all integrity with me and I decide to pay the $398 and take the car to the dealership. This is when the agent gets rude and all customer service is tossed out. He throws in my face that I will have to pay the $398 and still have to pay to have it fixed. I still politely refused. I ask him how long it will take to reassemble the car and he says that he has "no idea." It takes A+ 4 days to call me back! I pick up the car and instantly drive the 8.4 miles to the dealership. While waiting in their service bay, their tech rushes over to me and urgently asks me to shut off my car. I am leaking transmission fluid everywhere. So it turns out that A+ "slapped" my transmission back together and messed up the seal. I am also notified that A+ broke my battery cable in such a way that it shocked even the dealership. Bottom line, The dealership was $1,500 cheaper and gave me a BRAND NEW transmission. They also gave me a 3yr/ 100,000 mile warranty and they completed all this in just 4 days. A+ constantly used complex verbiage and spoke really fast. The dealership showed me on a diagram what was wrong and explained all repairs in simple english. Even if I declined their repairs, they only charge $158 to do the same diagnostics that A+ charged $398 for. In every way the dealership was superior to A+. Speed, price, warranty, professionalism and integrity where all much better at the dealership.

No one likes to have transmission trouble, but A+ Transmission was easy to work with, quick and very thoughtful about the work that was done.On the Saturday before Memorial Day I was driving from Houston to San Antonio. My car very unexpectedly started smoking and leaking transmission fluid. I had to fill up on transmission fluid on the side of the highway, and then preceded to Google the closest Transmission store. A+ was only a few miles away, but they were closing in 5 minutes. I called, and the manager, Nick, who very graciously kept the store open for me until I arrived. They ended up having to replace the "front seal" in my transmission, and were very nice in making sure to keep everything as cost effective as possible. Nick called my often with any updates, and was sure to explain the situation to me in a way that made sense.A+ Transmission made a very annoying situation just fine, and I am grateful that my car had trouble near their location-- instead of somewhere else.

I had an excellent experience. The owner and crew were polite, friendly and professional. It has been a while since I have been able to do business with a proprietor who will actually try to earn my business, and I am glad to see that businesses like still exist. They even set a price not to exceed (no other shop would do that) and came in under cost. Very satisfied with the experience, and would recommend to anyone.Service: Transmission

We cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. We got stuck with transmission issues in our Class C Ford motor home and Jeff made sure we were back on the road as quickly and cost effectively as possible. He even called a couple times to check-in on us on our very long journey from Canada. You dont find service like this very often. This is the place you want!

I highly recommend A+ Transmission. The gentleman (Nick) we dealt with was professional and wanted what was best for us. He was very knowledgeable and willing to help. We had issues with the insurance company and he fought for us and did everything in his power to make sure we were taken care of. We've experienced nothing less than prompt, excellent service.

This place is called U C Transmission NOT A Plus. Transmission wouldn't get into gear. The price was about what I expected. They walked me through the process, were not pushy. Jeff was awesome. Show'd me what was wrong. Car is working great. And comes with warranty on their work. Highly recommended.

I really wanted to give these guys 5 stars. In fact, I told them I would. But they deserve one star and here is why: Christmas eve my truck stalled and broke down on 1604 and Bandera rd, during rush hour. Everything was closed and i was able to get towed here. They had my car "fixed" within 2 business days after Christmas, which was really fast. I was concerned they didn't do a good job, and well, they didn't. I had an oil leak when I checked the car in and went to fix the leak after I got the vehicle back from this shop. When checking for oil I noticed transmission fluid leaking as well. I took it back (a one hour drive from Austin for me) and they told me it was leftover from when they worked on it, which was a lie. I drove to Houston twice so there shouldnt be any "residual" fluid left. I returned a second time to get them to look at the leak, and again they said it wasn't leaking. I know for a fact it is leaking and needs to be re-sealed. I spent over $2,200 and feel like these guys have abandoned me once they got my money. They promised to do a check when I picked up the warranty for my new transmission. They said they'd check the fluid levels and hook it up to a computer. They did none of that. They still refuse to admit it is leaking. I will have to take it to a shop here in Austin (where I live), and even then, they may not honor the warranty in Austin. Be very leary of these scumbags taking your money up front. I had no choice and really regret it. I also had a rear-main seal that needed to be replaced. Did they bother to tell me or do it when they had my car transmission disconnected and the rear main easily accessible? NOPE. They quoted me $400 to do it, after the fact, even though they "dont do rear main seals". If you dont do them, then why did you quote me $400? This place is a rip off and I am very unhappy. Be cautious and go somewhere else if possible.

Outstanding customer service and work! Nick and crew are great professionals. They make sure that customer is fully advised of what is needed and what may be recommended. Fully aware of all options every step of the way. They won't release their work until it's perfect! Highly recommend. Major overhaul and still done within 5 days.!

These guys are great. The owner himself helped my friend with her car. She had been ill and his compassion towards her and desire to help someone in need is above and beyond what anyone would expect from a repair shop. So impressed with the character of this company!

This place can only be described in one word, PHENOMENAL. Great, honest, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. Will go above and beyond to make sure you are always satisfied with the services they provide and I guarantee you will be. They are true to their word and that's hard to come by these days. Thank you for everything. I greatly appreciate all you've done to keep my truck safe and on the road.

This was the worst shop I have ever done business with I had an E40D the final bill was $2,349.( Lasted only 2.3 Years BTW) To start off with they left my window roold down and my car stereo got stolen and They said nothing about it till i came in the office to complain about it upon pickup They claimed no responsibility. I now 2 years later have a slipping torque converter and the transmission is heating up and slipping on takeoff. Please please please do not go here for transmission service if you do any research before you buy head my story and my results of in my opinion a lousy business transaction. You will get whats coming to you A+. Truman Ray.

Jeff was just terrific. He took the time to show me the different parts of my transmission and he stayed in budget. He even gives a warranty. I won't go anywhere else for my transmission work and he gives military discounts.

Family car was out of commission and they worked with us every step of the way. Nick was very informative regarding the parts of the transmission that were faulty and how much everything was. Hopefully don't have to rebuild a transmission again, but if we did it would be with Nick at A plus transmission.
