The transmision had no "contaminants" it was on a palet sealed in a bag and taped. Your poor excuse is obvious that it is a lie. the original from factory 1963 cork pan gasket, the brand new fresh transmission fluid was so heavily contaminated with metal shavings it looked like a candy apple metallic paint job instead of type f transmission fluid. The gaskets are all original work with brass as you can see in the pictures. How do you explain that?Mind you, this transmission has never been down the road after they "rebuilt" the transmission.The filter wasn't even replaced.All that was done, the housing was cleaned up a bit.The filter is the original... LOOK AT THE RUST. SHAME ON YOU. EXPECT A LAWSUIT VERY SOON. IM JUST WAITING ON THE REPORT.What an awful experience.

This place is cool but busy. I mean that when I went there they had a 3 month wait but what I needed was not serious and I was not in a hurry that much. It did take a month or less to get it done but it was not a big deal. The work they did was good and my truck is working fine. I would go back again if needed. I am not sure about leaving a vehicle there for a long time but they did good work. I cannot see what the mechanic did I just hope they are honest. Also they have this weird thing with debt and credit cards were they charge a fee. I did not read nor look at the sign they had.

Always great!!! They are super honest, only recommend what you actually need done.I thought I had a rear main seal leak. They looked my truck over really well and discovered it was the oil pan gasket and not a rear main seal.Best Transmission shop in town.

Very knowledgeable and experienced. They don't do foreign front wheel drives apparently but they were very nice and recommended someone.

The reason I'm giving them 5 stars is because of their honesty. My mother-in-law and I brought in her Dodge thinking it was a transmission problem. After they diagnosed it he explained it was motor problem. Unfortunately they don't do that kind of work but they didn't beat us about the bush and didn't charge us for there time that was really awesome. Thank you much!!

I have taken two vehicles to them for replacement of transmissions and Armando has always been extremely helpful and honest about estimates, timeframe for repair and delivery. Dealerships would have charged four times what Dunn charges and the quality of service exceeds all expectations. Dunn has installed two online purchases of transmissions without any problems at all. They did notice another problem that I was unaware of in the transmission area and only charged me for the part to repair the issue since they were already in the area. I took my 4runner in for a transmission and differential service. Dropped it off in the afternoon they got started on it the next morning and it was ready by noon just like they promised. They were also cheaper than the other places I called. Roscoe and everyone else there are super nice and act like they want your business. They have been around forever so they must be doing something right.

Very friendly and helpful. When i took my transmission in they were swamped and told me ahead of time. They still finished me up faster than i anticipated and returned it spotless. i will be using them for my next project as well.

Loved everything about this shop, I m from Oklahoma and got stranded on I20 from my transfer case bowing and damaging a lot of stuff, and had my truck towed to this shop. They stayed open longer to have my truck be inside the gates, they done a full look at my truck and they ve been a big help with my insurance company also. It s always good to meet such good kind hearted people when you re in a bind!!

Very honest/transparent. I thought my transmission broke down as it suddenly stopped shifting while on the highway. Had to pull over and get it towed. I was recommended this shop by my usual car mechanic who doesn't do transmissions (Mike's automotive repair in Tyler).After initial diagnosis, Dunn Transmission's first concluded that the transmission was broken down as it wasn't shifting and they gave me an amazing quote for a used replacement transmission which I was ready to pay for.A week later they called me to let me know that, after further inspection, the yoke got detached which was the cause of improper gear shifting. They only charged me for the labor which was a fraction of the replacement job they first quoted me for.They could have easily ripped me off and I wouldn't have been any the wiser. Therefore, I give them 5 stars. Really the last of a dying breed of car mechanics. They're honest, transparent, and genuinely care about helping their customers without wanting to make a quick buck. Wish this could be said for every car shop out there.Thanks!

This is a "Pre" review because my time spent on the phone with Yolanda has me enthused about even the possibility of using Dunn s. I was given tons of useful information and transparent pricing for my potential project. Most importantly though, Yolanda took the time explain things to me.

I will not go anywhere else but here. They are upfront, honest, and work hard to fix ALL your transmission problems for a good price. They do quality work and its GUARANTEED! All of the people there are friendly and respectful. There is seriously no better place than Dunn's!

Took my truck in with a check engine light... transmission code. They checked it out and called me back and told me exactly what was wrong with it. Didn't not even charge me a diagnostic fee. My truck broke down in Tyler on the way to a deer hunt on December 29, 2019, I initially had it towed to a Chevrolet dealership. Dunn transmission picked it up from them and did it for half the price. Dunn stayed in touch with me during the whole repair process. My truck was completed a day before promised. It had all new parts replaced and operates like it did when the truck was new. They offered a warranty that I purchased as well. All the employees are super friendly and went beyond to help and satisfy. I would give them a 5 star rating on everything. They even sent me an email for a transmission shop in Conroe for any follow up for me locally. Wow, that's all i have to say about this company! When valvoline near Azalea post office ruined my transmission this place stepped in to monitor my vehicle and told me what i needed to hear and what actions i needed to take! One of a kind businesses that we need more of! This company beats out all the other transmission companies out there! Keep up the great work!

My car broke down while I was traveling from VA to AZ, and they got my car in right away, was told it would be ready to go by end of business Tuesday, but it wasn't, the owner felt so bad for the car not being done when promised that he put me up in a hotel for the night. Was called today And told the car was ready. I am soon very greatful to the folks at Dunn Transmission for getting my car done as fast as they did. If anybody breaks down in Tyler, Tx, I highly recommend this company for your car repair needs.

When I dropped off i was told a couple days for just remanufactured transmission swap, a week at the most.. So I rented a car for a week.hadnt even started on it after the first week.Took about a week longer than I was told. Said they were flushing transmission cooler for the last 2 days. I didn't make it home and radiator started leaking. Had to replace it the next day. Medal transmission line had been cut and there is a piece of rubber hose spliced into it where it has been cut. I assume to hook up the flush machine. The truck does have a lot of miles on it so I didn't return to complain. But it didn't leak before

This place was amazing! My family is relocating to Arizona and my husband was driving down to Arizona from Virginia to get things set up and to start working at his job before the rest of us came down. So he was driving alone and the clutch in our car went out at 10pm on Sunday night. We had the car towed to the closest transmission shop, not Dunn's, to hopefuly work on our vehicle the next buisness day, which would have been Monday. We called the shop right at open to talk with them and they said they wouldn't even be able to look at our vehicle until Friday, which would have left my husband stranded in Tyler Texas for at least a week when he needed to get to Arizona for his new job. The shop recommended we give Dunn's a call and see if they could get us in sooner. So my husband called Dunn's and they said they could get us up and running by the next day, which would be Tuesday. They came and towed our vehicle to their shop and started working on it right away! They were amazing and kept us updated and made us a priority! Unfortunatley, our clutch was very damaged and their estimate to get us on the road by Tuesday could not be met, BUT they paid for my husband's hotel for the night since we had only reserved a room until Tuesday AND they even dropped him off at the hotel and picked him up Wednesday morning when the car was ready so he wouldn't have to use a Lyft! They went above and beyond for us in our time of crisis and got us back on the road safe and sound! I would recomend them to anyone. My husband was just passing through when the clutch died and they treated him way beyond any expectations and really helped in our time of need! I wish I could give more than 5 stars! They deserve it!

Was told it would be finished in 2 weeks, took a month but I wasn't complaining because I wanted the car done right. In the 3 months since I got it out its been back in 2 times. Had to BEG for a rental! I've had my vehicle 3 weeks since the last time it was in the shop, it's not smooth and down shifts hard.. But as long as it has the correct shift points and hitting them they won't touch it and say "its your engine causing the problem " I tried to explain to them that this is negligent work, 3 times they have had my transmission out... My car drove better before the rebuild of my transmission . Not mad just trying to warn.. Go somewhere else even if it's further, cause now I'm stuck with this rough riding transmission. Hope I helped

Due to covid caused issues they may take some time, however they are wonderful to work with. And they do an excellent job
