Carl is incredible. Kept me informed on my wife s suburban transmission replacement. Reasonable price and about $4000 cheaper than the dealership. Very straight forward. Now they have my truck that unfortunately has a blown motor. They ve worked closely with my warranty company and were able to play a HUGE part in getting the warranty to pay. Saved me probably close to $8000+! Highly recommend. Honest people and full service. You won t be disappointedUpdate: I picked up my truck yesterday from the motor replacement. It runs IMPECCABLY. These guys know their stuff and are strait forward. I have a fully re-manufactured engine and the warranty company paid, unbelievable. These guys are the real deal. If you need engine work this is the place!!

Caution: only come here if you want a truly honest and fair opinion on servicing your vehicle, with the best repair option. They will not perform a costly repair to your vehicle if the car is not worth it (unless you want them to). They take the time to explain what needs to be done, discuss your best option, and do great work only after you approve the job. No hidden fees. No costly surprises. No work is done unless you approve. Fixed right the first time. John and Carl run the tightest repair shop in the industry!!

So kind and personable. Was honest when my car didn t need the work I worried it might. Took care of a couple of minor issues and my car is running better. I m so grateful for their help and will definitely be using them again.

Avoid this place at all costs. A complete lack of communication on their part caused my repair bill to go up. When I go to pick up my vehicle, it won t even start! Almost a year later and they haven t touched my vehicle or had any communication with me. Now I m out $3k and my vehicle is in worse shape than it was when they got it. Unbelievable, if I could give less than 1 star, I would.

My friend went in for a quick diagnostic. It ended up being a $160. Then they were saying they're not guaranteeing that the park that they put in won't solve the problem. Well, there are the ones with the $1500. Snap on plug in under your steering whbill. I think they're trying to get over on him

The people at Cody s are so kind and helpful! My boyfriend and I are from Austin but bought a truck in Temple and were up there getting the transmission fixed when long story short, his diesel truck broke down on their property and wouldn t start. The mechanics went out of their way on a busy day to help us get back on the road as well as enlisting help from a local diesel mechanic (Cen-Tex diesel). We took up hours of their time and they were nothing but generous. Highly recommend to anyone in the area!!Services: Transmission, General repairs & maintenance

My business had one of our delivery trucks break down in Temple. My business is located in Austin and Dallas. Not knowing anyone in Temple, I went to Google and found Cody's Automotive and Transmission. Their reviews looked great and seemed to be authentic.I am pleased to say that their reviews were authentic! Carl was great to work with. He under promised and over delivered. The price was fair and we had our truck back much sooner than I had expected.I highly recommend these guys for any kind of automotive work because they are "stand up" people. Was traveling from DFW to San Antonio September 2022 when my fuel pump went out near Temple. Cody s was able to alter their shop schedule & repair my car within 3 hours, hallelujah!!! Apologies for the late posting; some how I inadvertently posted this to another mechanic shop in Florida!!!!

I am not from the area so I called this mechanic shop needing to get a simple job done on my vehicle . I already have the part , and when I asked the front desk man what their pricing was hourly for labor he took great offense. Asked me why I would want to know that. I said that paying $80/hr verses $120/hr would make a big difference in cost. He rudely replied we'll were over $120/hr and was done with the call. I dont know if he was having a bad day , but this isn't a great way to talk to a potential customer, and he definitely needs to work on his customer service skills.

I am absolutely a customer for life.. in a time when it is hard to trust alot of mechanics Cody's proved to stand above the rest on integrity and care for their customers. I had taken my truck in for a new transmission which their price was less than most, about a week later truck started making noise so I took it to him and it was a cracked flywheel and other damage. I went to pick it up 2 days later and I was expecting several hundred dollars for a bill but he told me no charges because they were at fault for it breaking. I was speechless some mechanics would not take the blame and would charge you to fix it since all the other damage was probably close to 2000 dollars. So I would absolutely recommend them to anyone.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Cody is an angel sent by God! I was visiting Temple for an emergency on 2/22/2022 (yes right before the winter storm hit) and my windshield wipers and headlight went out! I still had to drive to San Antonio the next day and I didn't know what to do! I called Cody and not only did he squeeze me in, he fixed the problem with my headlight going out all the time! He is a man of integrity and is there to do whatever is best for the customer! I will forever be grateful for what he has done for me!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I chose Cody's Auto and Transmission from the positive reviews. The reviews were correct, I had a great experience with them. I was told to drop my vehicle off first thing in the morning (they open at 7a.m.). I was called about noon time and my vehicle was ready with a briefing on what they did, found and suggested for future services. Very reasonable pricing also. I recommend Cody's to everyone!!!

We had our 89 Jeep Cherokee Trans (automatic) repaired at Cody's. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. They had a quick turn around time and kept us "in the loop" throughout the entire process. The Jeep has almost 400,000 miles on it and the trans they repaired is holding strong and doing great!! I would deff recommend their services. Thanks guys!

Took my truck to another shop first. Then brought it to Cody's for a second opinion. First shop told me I needed a rebuilt transmission and could cost me over $2,500! Cody's took their time to diagnose it and repair it for $500. Honest service and repairs, highly recommend.

After calling Cody s for a quote, I can absolutely see why they have so many amazing reviews on Google and Yelp. They were able to not only quote me a more than fair price (undercutting all of their competitors I had already called earlier), they also had THE BEST customer service. They helped quickly identify what type of engine I had (which I sadly did not know, but was grateful they took the extra minute to help!) as well as being 100% transparent on how they price their service. Truly saving customers money by verifying the amount of fluid needed so customers aren t paying a flat rate for fluid they didn t need. Honest, friendly, and informative. Very glad I found a place I can trust.*Review writing is not my favorite pastime, but a place like this with people like this is rare period, but in this industry? If you re on the fence, I did the research and this is the place I m going.

Had my front axle replaced on SUV. Not only was price fair but it was fixed right first time and on time. Customer friendly and locally owned and operated. I went back today to have noise coming from underneath front end checked. They put up on rack and found protective cover not fully attached because some clips were missing. Quick fix and no charge! Will return for any future repairs.

These guys are very honest! I took my 93 Ford explorer to them because the transmission would not shift into gear sometimes. They looked at it, added some transmission fluid and told me that they could work on it, but it would be better to wait and see where the leak is at, so they don't waist my time and money doing exploratory work. They did not charge me for their time; I will definitely take my the explorer back when it is time!

I have a 1964 Ford F100 and it is hard to find someone who will even try to work on it, however, this is the third time I have used Cody's services. The first time they rebuilt my rearend. The second time they put a new four speed automatic transmission and shifter in. Then when I went somewhere else to rebuild the engine, the other guys failed to attach a cable from the carberator to the transmission in order to allow it to shift properly. They spotted it almost immediately. All of the work was very good and well priced. What else could I ask for ?

I highly recommend this shop. The are professional and extremely knowledgeable. They were able to get my mothers car fixed quickly and didn t over charge for their services. They have 100% of mine and my families business for life.

We were referred to Cody's when we moved to Temple last year. Since then we've had service several times and it has always been prompt, courteous and fairly priced. We recently had an exceptional experience when, after having an alternator replaced, a belt tensioner broke a couple of days later. While it was pretty clear that there was no relationship between this and the alternator replacement, just to allay any potential concern about the issue, Cody's replaced the belt tensioner assembly with no charge for the couple of hours of labor involved. This was proof to us of the professionalism and integrity one will find at Cody's .Gary RappTemple, Texas

Took my car in, because my transmission kept over heating. Found out it had too much fluid. They fixed it, and charged a reasonable rate for service.

I can't say enough good things about the manager Carl. He may not have the cheapest prices in town, but they are honest, dependable, and do excellent work. I will definately be going back.
