After having the Barker Cypress location (now closed) bend over backwards to help my BF fix the AC system that was not working right when he bought the truck years ago, it was a blessing to have the 2 year warranty on the parts. The Louetta location was able to quickly complete the work swapping out the warrantied parts and complete other needed work in less that four hours. Their pricing is very fair and I will continue taking my vehicles to them over some of the other automotive repair chains in my area.

Honest.Very fair pricing.Great communication!Warrantys parts and labor.It's hard to find a shop that will get your vehicle in and out as quickly as possible and do great work. Highly recommend McKay's automotive.

My family and I have been going here for years, they have always treated my wife and I amazingly with fair prices and incredible work. We recently brought a car in that was having a hard to replicate issue and they only charged us a simple diagnostic fee after needing to hold and test the car for several days. This shop will give you a fair and honest appraisal of the work that needs to be done on your car at a reasonable price.

This place is GREAT!!! We have a 20 year old truck and have had to get lots fixed on it. They are always fast and fix it well. They stand behind their work which is super important to us. We will continue to take all our vehicles here because we believe they have very fair prices, treat you, as a customer, well and honer the work that they do on your vehicle. We have been to the fancier service places but we have had better customer service here. We won t go anywhere else for our vehicles services.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Vehicle Inspection, Auto A/C replacement, Oil change

This is the best game in town! I have 6 different vehicles serviced at McKay's Automotive and have been a customer for over a decade. It's comforting to know that they check everything on your vehicle when it's in the shop. My wife and 3 daughters drive cars that McKay's service. Never had a problem! I recommend them to everyone.

McKays worked on my Class B motorhome and was recommended by another RV owner. The prices were fair, their work was thorough and the communication was good. Would recommended McKays for vehicle repair and regular maintenance.

I take 2 of my cars there as well as my family members. Recommended They are friendly The only thing i wish to see improved is shorten the time it takes to do service is longer than others but it is not hurting in any way.

I have used other McKay's automotive in the past and had good experiences, however recently it wasn't the case. I took my vehicle in with the engine issue, after 4 weeks later, I visited the store to find out what is the status with the vehicle. I was told that It needed a major engine over haul or new engine. Received a quote for $3,500 for new motor installed. One weeks go by and I have not heard any update, I called again. This time, I am talking with new person. He was quick to get me the quote of engine overhaul, but its now $6,500. (not a new engine). As company, they have no reliability and responsibility of what other employees have quoted me. I have lost the trust in the company and after not having vehicle for moth and half, I received the unrepair vehicle after paying diagnostic charge of $119.

I and my mother and brother have been using McKay's Champions location for several years and I've always been happy with their work. I've shopped around and their prices are fairly competitive, as well. As a woman, it's important to me that I can trust them not to take advantage of my lack of auto knowledge (and I've had that happen at other places!) - they are honest, polite, professional, and are always more than happy to answer questions and explain the mechanics behind whatever issue you're having with car. That is so important to me! They recently did some work on my mother's car and it's running great now! They have done a lot of work on my car and I've always been happy with the results! I highly recommend them!

I have always posted excellent reviews for this establishment, but they have steadily gone downhill the past 2 years.They say they will call you back and do not. Progress of repairs when I called them, the many stories that I was told do not add up.They also no longer offer Lyft, so be prepared to have a ride or pay for one. The icing on the cake, when they tell you they have been so swamped, I agreed to let them keep car 2 extra days & finally paid Uber to take me. No one was working, eating tacos & complaining phones went out.Car was supposedly ready Thurs., but when I arrived on Sat , another story, Great news! Cost is cheaper! Well sure it is, necessary radiator hoses were not replaced. Was told they were unable to get. Really?Then why was I told car was ready Thursday? I found them at several locations.I don't like nor appreciate being lied to.I have spent thousands of dollars over the past 4 years, but that doesn't seem to matter.

McKay's has been working on my Chevy 3500 for several years. They've done an outstanding job during this time and recently did a full review and service. It now has over 150,000 miles and is still going strong. They're quick, reliable and honest on what does / doesn't need done.It's now November and time for an oil change, inspection and other evaluations. Now with 160,000 miles a full assessment was needed. Eric worked with Paul to do a thorough evaluation, made a list of what could be done then prioritized what needed done immediately. They had the vehicle for several days but did an excellent job. Highly recommended (again)

McKay's is a committed relationship mechanic, not a hit-it-and-quit-it mechanic!My husband and I exclusively use McKay's. They are honest. They tell you everything that's going on AND what can wait and what can't. We have twoChevys: 18 and 7 years old. They keep us going and feeling safe. The waiting areas and restrooms are clean and comfortable. This is the type of shop I would send my daughter or mother to.Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Brakes, Oil change

Had my Accord serviced ( wheel bearring ) here they were up front and honest about pricing. It did end up taking an extra day but I have no complaints because the job was done well and the car drives great.

I used them for years, for several vehicles. Things have gotten worse over time. Now they re charging for repairs like replacing a windshield wiper switch and zip tying it up under the dashboard because they misplaced the nut. Didn t even complete the second half of the repair which was adjusting the wiper arms. We could ve done the switch ourselves - in fact, we completed that on our own. They ve gotten lazy. I m done. I found a new shop and would avoid McKay s on 1960. Curtis isn t involved enough anymore to make sure that shop is running properly.

I m looking forward to going to the Louetta Rd. location soon. I have an on and off check engine light, the front right window sticks when going down a lot of the times, mainly when it s cold and/or raining outside. I have no emergency or hand brake. I might have an abnormal front end tire popping sound. I for sure have embarrassing sounding, creaking front struts with only a 1/3 of use on them, have no AC with a climate control switch from eBay that I don t even know if will fix the problem that I may have to return, I have squealing rear drum brakes. My back left door panels pull in handle is broken and the panel needs to be replaced. This should give an idea of what is wrong with my vehicle to start at least.

Good pricing, great work. I have had them replace my fuel pump, u-joints and ball joints in my Dodge Ram 1500 over the last couple years and still no issues with any of these repairs.

Though we did not in the end get our Durango serviced here it was a great experience working with this auto shop. The staff was very nice and seemed to be there for the right reasons. They gave estimates that helped us lower are repair bill by hundreds!!!! We came in after wards to let them know we appreciated their kindness and wanted to pay them more then needed for a small job. They smiled and said no to just think of them next time. I don't know if this is how everyone is treated here, but knowing of two auto shops in this part of Houston we can trust is a great feeling to have.

I originally gave this place a good review, because, at the time, it seemed as though they fixed my a/c. 2 weeks later it was blowing hot again. I'm learning that this is the place you take your car to get a lazy, extremely high estimate (which is usually misdiagnosed from the front desk guy), then take your car to an honest mechanic around the block. Just about every job I've had done elsewhere has been for about $300 less then their estimates. (Are 1/2-star reviews allowed on Google?)

Experience could have been better. Come to find out that not one but both of my hub bearings were broken and I was not told this early on in the process to get it done! I had to constantly call to checkup on the truck because there were no calls and I still wasn t told that the other one needed to be replaced until they were about to close. So the ultimate goal of getting rid of the humming was not accomplished. I would ve liked a call to know how much and that it could be done today because I need to sell my truck. Now I m in the middle of finding someone else to do it because I didn t like the experience. Now that I am I find out that they charged double the price of what a different mechanic charges across the street.

Great place ; awesome customer care! I've been going to see Kurtis and his crew for a few years now, for everything from oil changes to a radiator replacement. They're always so kind & honest when it comes to answering my questions. I'm super happy about my experiences this far, and as long as I'm in the area, McKays Auto on Louetta is where I will go. Thanks for everything guys!

It took to much time for employees problems but the took care of my car very well and they handle the situation very fair.so far the repair seams to be good! and very good customer service from the owner

The customer service was EXCELLENT! I was there on a Saturday morning and the guy who took care of me was great. ( wish I had got his name).Good service, and professionalism. Even got a call today to thank me for my business, which is what prompted me to leave a review. Much respect to them for that.

First I had a bad experience (wrong diagnosis) fixing my Jeep there, but the worst experience was taking my car(bmw 530i) to them. The total repair cost was 2k+ with 2 year warranty on repairs, sounds good. However, the same problem (oil separator unit failure) came back again next month, so took the car back to them. The car was there for a few days, but no calls from them to update me on the status. I had to call them and they said the car is ready for pickup. So, I went and picked up the car and the very next day the problem came again. Believe it or not, this same episode of taking the car back to them, and no contacts from them unless I called, then picking up the car happened 3 times in 3 weeks! Well, the problem still exists, maybe they were simply resetting the code every time. I called yet again, this time he said he is confused with how to fix it, and that he will have to call his friend who works in a BMW dealership to get an opinion, and will call me in an hour or two. Guess what.... as usual, he never called me back!Not only wasted $$, but it has been a huge hassle and waste of time. I thought AAA certified would mean excellent and professional service, however my experience with these folks changed that idea.

Totally Misdiagnosed my engine problem cost me $1600 and absolutely did nothing to fix it. When I picked up the car the brakes didn't work because they messed up the vacuum on the car. The mechanics they got in there a very young people So I don't feel they have a lot experience. Very unhappy would not recommend save your moneyService: Engine repairService: Engine repair

Some of the best service I ve received anywhere. Very helpful staff, great pricing, and quality work. Eric was amazing and did his best to make things as easy as possible for me. I highly recommend going here for your car needs!

Van broke down across the street and I couldnt move it. Tow truck was 1.5 hrs away so my husband went across to ask if they could help. They were able to getting it running and fixed the problem in an hour. So we brought our truck in to get the AC fixed when we picked up the van. It was fixed in a couple hours. Great service and very helpful.

They don t communicate effectively whenever it comes to progress updates on repairs. I paid for an alternator replacement, but what I got was a malfunctioning air conditioner & a seized up idler pulley - not to mention an ac/alternator belt that was out of place. Now I have to pay for a tow & a diagnostic just to get it home right now! There won t be any further business with this shop!
