I broke down on the goslings exit off 99 and I called them up and had my 2013 Mercedes-Benz C250 towed over there and they figured it out fast. I also have an ignition starter on my car they handled that and surprising enough with all the work they did on my engine it was at good reasonable price. The staff who work there are super nice and very respectful. If I brake down in spring again, I know where I m taking my car. Thanks guys for helping me out

These guys got me in and out quick for a auto inspection at no charge, and Jonathan notified me about a potentially serious safety recall on my vehicle, and stated they'd be happy to do the work to fix it, but that it would probably be free if done by the dealership since it was a safety recall.

I took my 2016 Mercedes C300 in for an strong intermittent gas smell. Dan checked me in. He was very courteous and professional. He advised me that he would get it looked at as soon as possible. I regularly received either a phone call or text advising me of the status of my car. The problem was diagnosed and repaired in less than a day. I will using McKay's from now on. Very good prices with quick and courteous service. I will send family and anyone else I meet to McKay's!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I had a vehicle I was looking to sell to a friend of mine, but being that it was an older vehicle, I didn t want to sell anyone into an already existing problem. I called McKays and asked if they could do a pre-sale inspection for me, to ensure there wasn t anything wrong with the vehicle that I couldn t see/hear myself. They were happy to help, and very informative about what they would be looking at/for given the age of the vehicle. They were also very transparent about their availability and the time it would take to complete their inspection. I showed up on the day we had discussed, and true to their word they got my car right in and within a few hours I got a phone call from Dan with the full vehicle health check. Their feedback was detailed and understandable, and their pricing for the inspection was exactly as they had quoted me upfront, with no extras or surprises thrown in there.The folks at McKays Automotive in Spring have earned my future business! Highly Recommended because they showed INTEGRITY & HONESTY.I came one week ago for a State Inspection and found a great service, two days later took my car for a 5K miles service and today I received a phone call asking for my feedback. No complains at all however I told the manager about the tire's pressure sensor light intermittently activation and immediately ask me to come back. They corrected the tires pressure and confirmed the sensors were OK. I am impressed with the service here.

I can't say enough good things about this place! I have a small business with a fleet of 12 service trucks. I use McKay's for all our general maintenance and repairs. Their prices are fair and do all they can do get my trucks back on the road quickly. Being in business since 1993, I have used all the other shops in the area and McKay's is the best option around. I do not write many reviews, but feel the need to do so when a company stands out.Service: General repairs & maintenance

We brought our 2011 Chevy Silverado and our 2007 GMC Yukon here for the 1st time. We use to go to Kwik Kar and now we have a new mechanic shop. Very honest, trustworthy, affordable, and on point. Thank you for everything and not breaking the bank. Deceptive pricing and bad customer service. We are brand new to Texas and do not yet know who to trust when it comes to car service. We called McKay s because of their proximity to our house. Andy told my husband that they would examine his car for free to see why the engine light was on. When we picked it up they all of a sudden were charging us $120 for an advanced diagnostic reading that they had given us no heads up would cost any money. Why was no disclosure given? On top of that, Andy (who seems to be the manager), was curt and rude to both me and my husband in both of our encounters with him - dropping off the car and picking it up. So much so that his personality actually made us feel uncomfortable and like we were dealing with someone very shady. We will definitely not be going back to McKay s Automotive. It is sad this was our initial experience with a mechanic in Texas. Gives us a bad feel for future encounters.

We have been coming to McKay s for 5 years now. We have generally recieved good service, but we were not pleased with a recent manager.HOWEVER, Andy is the new manager now and has taken such great care of us. He is very honest and didn t try to sell us repairs that we didn t need or over charge us.If you ve haven t been here lately, it s worth coming back.Scott & Mandy

So I was having problems with my vehicle. I live close to this place and read a few positive reviews so I took it there. My vehicle is a 2006 so I don t want to put too much money into it. They called and suggested doing a tuneup for $1100. I asked if that would definitely fix the problem. They said no but maybe. I did go pick up the vehicle and not have it repaired there. There outside sign states Free Checks here. I assumed my check out be free, but it was $120. When I questioned them they said it s only free when you do the repairs with them! Lessons learned they should have disclosed that!

This was a great place it was my go to for car problems. Maybe it's new management. Went in today to get an oil change today $160 Synthetic was my only option.Rip Off.Went across the street half the price.I just saw your reply Kurtis McKay. I was told $160 by the gentle man working there. It's not the first time I have had an oil change. It's also not the first time I have been to that shop and previously it was great!! Seems to me you might have a problem with an employee quoting incorrect. But you choose to reply that I was quoted $90 not correct.

McKay's is my go to mechanic. They are professional, knowledgeable and helpful. They have worked on my car, truck and van with good results and pricing every time. I do some repairs myself and they won me over by helping me replace a drive axle on my truck. It turned out that I needed a special machine to remove a part. They told me where to go have the work done and it only cost $20. So they didn't make a dime on that project but saved me hundreds and were happy to help. People get angry when their cars break, but these guys are very reasonable and informative. They are not like the high pressure franchise shops that only try to upsell the repair.

This business and its employees are reliable, honest, very kind, and they complete my vehicle repairs within a timely manner! I m now a repeat customer and I recommend this auto shop to everyone! They really take the time to explain things so you can understand and their prices are reasonable. Avoid this shop at all cost, unless you like being lied to and overcharged for work that wasn t even done!!! One of the worst experiences we ve ever had with a mechanic shop!!! I m a former mechanic (which they were not aware of when we dropped the car off) who has a herniated disc in my back from a bad car accident which makes it hard for me to work on cars anymore, so we took my girlfriends car to McKays Automotive for a major oil leak. They said that the oil valve cover gasket was leaking and said they were going to replace it because that was the obvious problem which if they had done any diagnostics of they would ve noticed that was old oil that wasn t cleaned off from the previous time the gasket was changed. So obviously they just assumed that was the issue without properly diagnosing anything. My girlfriend goes and picks the car back up from them and within 15 minutes of being home there was about half a quart of oil sitting on the driveway again!!! She calls to tell them what was going on and they said it was just left over oil residue from the leak they said they had repaired earlier and which by the way shouldn t be the case because they had told us that they had cleaned up that mess to make sure there weren t any other leaks, which STILL didn t get cleaned at all. I m at work so she takes the car back up there for them to look at which they gave her attitude for and they put it on the lift to see that there is a crack in her oil pan. How does someone bring a car in and you completely miss a cracked oil pan that is constantly dripping oil out of it!!! Obviously they never even put the car on the lift to begin with or they would have been able to clearly see that it was leaking!!! Now they want to charge her another overpriced amount of money to fix the original problem the car had been taken in for which wasn t fixed or even looked at. I told her to not let them touch the car anymore and bring it home. I get home and look at the car to see that the oil valve cover gasket that they had replaced was never even replaced, which they had charged for remind you!!! Like I said I m a former mechanic so I can tell that the valve cover gasket was never even touched. The bolts to take the cover off are still completely covered in grime which would have contact marks from the socket used to remove the bolts. You can tell the bolts haven t been touched in a long time. The dirt and grime built up between the engine block and cover was still all there. If the cover had been removed, the build up would not still be there. Even if they had actually replaced the gasket like they said, they would ve contaminated the new gasket by not cleaning any of the surface area where the gasket goes. I call to ask them why they would charge for work that wasn t done to the car and the guy on the phone was very rude and over talked me every time I tried to explain anything to him. I asked about a refund for the work that wasn t done and he just hung up on me. Very poor customer service. I guess it is obvious to say that we will never take any vehicle back to them ever again and will definitely let everyone we know to stay away!!!Edit to reply to owner:The only thing we see you stand behind are your continuous lies. For you to say there was a cork gasket just proves the work that was charged for wasn t done. We replaced her cover gasket a little over a year ago with a rubber gasket (not cork) and no work has been performed on it since. Now to touch base on the fact that when we were on the phone I was doing nothing but simply asking questions when Andy became rude and disruptive with our conversation, so yes I became rude in return. Who wouldn t be upset that their girlfriend had to pay for services that weren t rendered?! Her and I are on the same page about all of this because not only does she feel taken advantage of but she can clearly see that the work wasn t done as well. So long story short yes she got offered some credit but who in their right mind would give more money to a shop that never fixed what they said they did?

Great guys,I'm a mechanic myself and I had to go to this location do to a tire gone flat. Had to wait till my wife brought me a new tire but these guys dealt with at lease 7 customers while I was there. They are so helpful and do so much extra for the customer. Great place!!! It's hard to find a good shop in spring tx. Please listen to me and save all the money you can. Great place, they have my buisness. They took care of my truck and checked it out for me.

On Thursday I took my car in to be fixed. $1,200 dollars later I thought the problem would be fixed. The next day I go to work (Friday) and it's not fixed. The day after that (Saturday), not only is the problem not fixed, now the car is even worse off. My father goes in with the car to see what's going on. They run a test that basically says there's a problem but they can't fix it because the engine is sealed. Why was the test not run the first time I took it in, before I paid $1,200? They could've come to the same conclusion without it yet they did work on what they assumed was the problem instead of actually finding the root of the problem and charged me for that. My car was not fixed so I called my credit card company to file a dispute. Of course McKay's Automotive didn't want to offer a refund, saying that the problem must've come between the time I took the car in on Thursday and when my father took it back in on Saturday. What a joke. Terrible experience. Will let everyone know to avoid this place like the plague.

Craig and James were very knowledgeable. My Jeep was in an out and the cost was very reasonable. I have taken my wife's and daughter's car since and had the same wonderful experience. If your looking for an honest and fair deal, MCKAY's is the place.

Went to get state inspection done, receptionist was rude and not knowledgeable about insurance cards between states and refused to do inspection because I had California insurance cards still. Drove literally across the small street right next door to Gosling Road Automotive and they did it no problems. Don't waste your time and be insulted by this terrible company, go somewhere else. See the reply below for how they treat customers when they make a mistake. You deserve a 0 star rating if it was possible.Edit to reply to owner:If what you say is true then why did Gosling Auto do it? I didn't show them different insurance cards from what you were shown. This is absolutely unprofessional and you guys missed out on repairing my BMW as well so congratulations on losing thousands of dollars worth of business because you cant hire competent reception. I will be informing anyone who asks me about service that you guys are the least trustworthy mechanic I have ever been to and you lie to save face.

Have had mixed results with these guys. Not very good diagnostics. At the end of the day they are just moderately expensive part changers. If you can afford the journey, they will eventually replace the broken part. Good luck.

McKay's gave me a super inflated estimate of $1200 for replacement of water hoses, labor, test, etc. for my ford f150 pick up. They didn't diagnose that the water pump was bad.A 2nd opinion Immediately saw that it was a bad water pump. I had the whole job done for under $200.None of the work they suggested would have helped the problem and the second shop said thete was nothing wrong with the vehecle.

They did get me in as promised for an oil and fuel filter change. Was a little dismayed when looking at the invoice of the miscellaneous fees added to the bill. Especially since I supplied my own fuel filters.

Thank the Good Lord for this place. I had a heater core hose blow while going down 99 and was able to limp my truck and trailer over to Mckays. The gentleman that help me did offer to fix my truck the right way but was not pushy about it, but as we were talking I asked him for a few parts to just get it by so I could get my truck to my parents and he was more than nice enough to help me out. I was over 2 hours away from home and was about another 30 min. to my parents house. I just want to say thank u for yalls help and for all the folks that will read this post, this all happened on a Saturday, when some of these places like this are closed. These guys aren't and are very helpful and nice!!! Thank yall guys again!!!

Trustworthy place. Dealer said X,Y, and Z needed replacement. Went to McKay s for second opinion and they recommended replacing only Y. Saved me $$$ and car performs like new.

McKay's Automotive is an old school mechanic's shop. They seem to know what they are doing, and haven't tried to overcharge me for any of the the work I've had done there.

I had my Challenger serviced and the crew was very thorough and very knowledgeable. At McKays they really took good care of my needs.
