I dropped off the head for my Miata and had a very quick turnaround within my budget. This is my go to shop. Danny is more than knowledgeable in both domestic and import engines and is very thorough both in machining and explaining what needs to be done and why.

If you havent been here yet, go! Danny is a great guy, and fun as Hell hot rodder to talk with. I have my work done there and have no complaints. Quality work, with a friendly family atmosphere.

I called to ask a question about my particular Toyota engine and spoke with Faye who was very friendly and very knowledgeable. She was very kind enough to allow me to pick her brain a bit and was very helpful with her knowledge and advise. It s always a pleasure when you can speak with someone who you know has that same passion you do when it comes to working on cars and helping people out. Can t thank you enough Faye for taking the time out from working on your car to speak with me and giving me your advise and some options. Thank you.

They did not listen and to my wishes. I had one issue to deal with. They tore the whole engine apart when I clearly told them I wanted 1 piston repaired. I had already did a compression test...and used a borescope before taking the engine in....If they would have listened...they would have called before destroying my engine. Then they charged me 270 dollars to completely disassemble my essentially running engine. The engine had 34 hours...bearings were fine...oil pressure fine....compression perfect on 6 cylinders. One burnt piston...one bad valve.This engine could have very well been repaired and had many hours left on it. They could have just called before completely tearing it apart and either saved me money...or got my approval for a complete rebuild. They knew my wishes...then call and say....are you sitting down? Clearly wanted money for a tear down or rebuild. Will never go back...will tell everyone my story.

I have had two engines rebuilt. The first was a 237 six, from a 1954 Chevy Suburban built to the highest specifications and with period add- on speed/ hot rod parts. Run test proved Danny's exceptional craftsmanship and with great COMMUNICATION from Danny and Elaine, any naysayers are strictly and simply incorrect about their experience and understanding of their direction and communication.

Fantastic service. I needed my warped exhaust manifold straightened and so I dropped on in. They machined it while I waited. Very reasonable prices and everyone was so professional and willing to help. I will definitely be back for future work as needed! Thank you so much!

If you want it done right, this is the place to go. Getting an engine rebuilt for a hotrod project vehicle should be an enjoyable experience, and Hill Country Performance & Machine went above and beyond my expectations.

Had some bearings pressed onto threaded shafts and this place flattened out the threads. When I said something to the owner, he told me to use a file on the threads. If you bring in anything make sure it is old hot rod stuff other wise you might get back damaged stuff like me.

This Mom and Pop shop sets the bar high for machining quality. The amount of knowledge and experience I've seen is astounding. I have nothing but confidence in this machine shop.
