On my way to Houston coming from San Antonio engine light came on. Stopped by the shop and before an hour I was back on the road with a clear dashboard. After almost a month running smooth. This guys are amazing and trustworthy. I highly recommend this shop.

Jeremy is the best! He and his guys know exactly what they are doing! He is always up front and honest about what needs to be done or what can wait! I won t take my car anywhere else!Prices are extremely reasonable even with the inflation of car parts! The shop is always clean and plenty of room to accommodate!

Paul and Jeremy at Universal Automotive always take such good care of us. This is the only shop in town that I will trust with my vehicle. Fair pricing, quality and fast work, honest communication. These guys are great!

We would recommend everyone to take their car to Jeremy and his expert staff. Today we were traveling home to Florida and had engine problems. Somehow we limped in to their shop around 2:30. I explained our situation and he said he would have someone look at it right away. 20 mins later he explained the problem. He took my wife and I to a great restaurant to eat. He said he would do everything he could to complete the work. Just before 5 in he walks into the restaurant to give us a ride back to his shop!! The job entailed taking off the top of the motor and replaced the coils and spark plugs!!God Bless him and his staff!

Ran into car trouble on the way to an event Houston. Jeremy was quick to help us and was able to diagnose the issue within seconds of taking a look under the hood. They began working immediately and were able to get us back on the road with plenty of time to spare to make the event.Trustworthy, friendly, and efficient. Good place! So when I first moved to the area approx 10 yrs ago I asked around for a good and honest mechanic shop. I tried a few places but over time Universal became my spot. I brought them my 1997 f250 that has hauled my horse from the top of NY state, all the way down here to Sealy, and then all around South East Texas! They've also worked on my everyday ride- 2010 Subaru Outback limited edition. They are always great, and over time I've gotten to know many by name. Now, I will say that their hourly rate might be SLIGHTLY higher than other spots, but their work is good. They don't leave things half on and half azz. Other places I've been, have been pretty slack.So if the question is would I recommend Jeremy and crew at Universal ! Yes! Would be my answer. On this recent visit, again they saved me a couple of bucks by just being honest and helpful. Thanks Jeremy!

These guys were awesome. Our car broke down mid road trip, and, thankfully, we broke down right next to them. The car was long gone, but they went out of their way to set us up with a salvage guy, and even had one of their guys give us a ride to the closest rental place. Even when they couldn t help with the actual car, they still found a way to help us out. These gentlemen went above and beyond, and I couldn t recommend them more. True stand-up guys.

Our turbo boost hose popped while pulling our 5th wheel. We called and they knew what the problem was. Luckily we were close by and they have a huge parking lot. They went and picked up the part and installed it in the parking lot (in the sweltering heat on a holiday weekend). Thank you for saving our weekend! We will be forever grateful!!!

I was driving across the country from FL to CA and got into minor accident in Sealy, TX. This bent my front struts and put my tires out of alignment. I stopped by Riverside Tire but they had a one week wait time and weren t able to take a look at it. I didn t have any extra time to wait. I called Universal and they were just as busy but after explaining my situation, they agreed to look at it for me same day. Within minutes, my car was being inspected and they were able to get everything done before noon. I cannot recommend these guys enough.Services: Tires, Steering & suspension repair, Wheel alignment

I love this shop. I took my truck here for a replacement of front wheel bearings on my F250 truck. They did an excellent job. Now I have my BMW there for maintenance. I highly recommend these guys and the icing on the cake is I went to school with one of the owners. Nice guy back then and still a nice guy. Give them a try.

Just spent over 2000 in the shop two weeks ago. They are conveniently located where I live but the customer service and treatment of myself as a woman is atrocious. We took our other car there and we eventually asked for my car back and to not return there again as they were extremely rude and according to a different mechanic we're ripping me off. Be careful. Convenience isn't everything.

Extremely helpful, professional guys here. My car broke down on I-10 and I was only a few miles away so I called them and they recommended me a wrecker that charged me cheap and got me there. There was only an hour left till they closed but they got my car in a bay, opened it up to find the problem, explained it to me so that now I understand a bit more about my fuel pump, and got my ride working again.If you break down outside of Houston or just need some help with an issue, go to Universal Automotive and they ll take care of you.

Awesome place. They can pretty much do it all. I took my 99 ford diesel truck in for repairs and got it right the first time. Fair price. Great communication to the customer and that goes along way never left me in the dark.

If zero stars was an option they would get that. These guys will waste your time. The guy behind the counter can't even stand when greeting potential customers. He hides behind a counter that is taller than he is when he is sitting. They are supposed to be a state inspection facility, but they apparently only have one inspector. I stopped in and the inspector was out to lunch, no problem I will come back, however maybe everyone should not go to lunch at the same time? If this is the case then show hours as closed during lunchtime. I return 2 hours later, same guy sitting behind the tall counter now says the inspector had to go to pick up parts? Wait a minute, you are sitting there soaking up a/c doing nothing, there are other people in the shop who are not inspectors, but you send your only inspector to pick up parts? Ok, clearly they do not want to offer this service to the public. Located another shop had me out in 10 minutes. Never returning to Universal for anything, considering a report to the State of Texas for review.

Was a great experience.I have been looking for a mechanic for a few years. Unfortunately my mechanic of over 15 yrs had passed away.And was extremely leary about trusting someone new.They were straight forward with what needed to be done and called to inform me of some other issue that needed to be taken care.Most definitely will be back.I have another vehicle that needs to be worked on as soon as I can save for the repairs.Very satisfied customer.

Simple state inspection and oil change.Mechanic overfilled oil by at least a quart.What a mess all over my driveway!They need to pay attention to work being performed.

After breaking down for the second time in a day, and stranded in a place I have never been before, I was desperate in looking for an honest, reliable mechanic. The guys at Universal were super accommodating, honest, and did good work at a fair price. Great service and extremely fair pricing. We move around the US quite a bit and it is rare to find a shop with the integrity Paul and his team consistently display. I recently had a repair to my 2014 Honda and Paul let me know that the Part was on recall and Honda should have an extended warranty; he saved me $2,000 - not many owners would have acted with this type of honesty. I highly recommend Universal Automotive because of the integrity of the staff and expert services they provide.

I broke down near Universal Automotive in a rental car with my family of 8. And even though in the end the rental car company came to tow the vehicle and repair it in their maintenance center the managers were kind to us giving us water and letting us even wait hours in their air conditioned office even though they knew they wouldn t get their business. A company this compassionate and professional definitely deserves your consideration to be your go-to place for all your car repairs.

Broke down at a gas station in Seally. 2 customers told me if I needed help to call Dalton at Universal Automotive. I called, they brought my truck into the shop, checked it out, determined what it needed, and completed the repair. Service was quick.Even though I was at their mercy, the price was very fair. I haul trailers for a living, and still made my next appointment. I cannot state how pleasantly surprised and impressed I was with this shop and their people. I live in Austin, and honestly believe I was treated better at Universal, than I would have at most shops in my own town.Many Thanks and I highly recommend,David EmshoffTexas RV Experts

Yesterday in the heat of the day my car broke down pass Sealy. My kiddos and I sat on the side of the road for a few hours in heat. A couple of people stopped but none offered to help. It was Saturday and there were no places open. My parents were about to leave San Antonio to come get us when Jeremy showed up. He was kind and reassured me that he was there to help. He gave me all his information so we could look up his business. Immediately he was able to locate my problem and offered to fix it...right there...on the side of the road in the ridiculous heat. He was an angel! He loaded my boys and I into his van and we went to buy the parts and get started right away... he even took us to get drinks. Once we were back at my car he left his van on so my kiddos could sit in the A.C. he was extremely nice and professional. He put my car back together and it was ready to go. As we left he stayed on the access road and paced us for a while to make sure everything was fine... and even checked on us to make sure we made it home fine. His charges for his work was well worth it... and it was fair... nothing outrageous. I wish I could give him more stars because his business deserves it! I don't just recommend him but anytime I'm headed to Houston I will use him for future upkeep too. He will have my business. If you are ever in my situation on the side of the road or you just need an awesome mechanic, Jeremy and his team at Universal Automotive is who you need to call...

A few weeks ago I was driving from Houston to Austin. Along the way, I pulled off the highway for lunch and fuel in Sealy. After stopping, my car would not start back up. I got a tow to Universal. I was seen fairly quickly. The mechanic identified and fixed the issue. I was charged a fair price for the work. The best part was I got back on the road and my weekend plans were not impacted!

I rarely write reviews, but this place is really fantastic. Want an honest fast quote and service completed? This is the place. Our truck alternator gave out and died in Sealy, traveling in I-10. Quote and service was fast and very easy to work with.

This was my first time to take my car for repair here. The staff was helpful on the phone. They were professional and friendly. They were honest and did a great job. The pricing was very reasonable. I definitely recommend this repair shop.

A few weeks ago, I brought my vehicle in for some major engine work. One week after I got it back, the check engine light comes on. The code is for no signal from a transmission sensor. I had a different mechanic sort it out because it seemed a little too coincidental. Turns out, it was a loose connection.Now, I'm selling it and trying to take off aftermarket fog lights and a winch, but the way they routed the wires is a complete mess. In order to take the parts off, I'd have to take off the wheel well, the battery shelf, and who knows what else. I also had to reroute some hoses because the engine cover wouldn't sit properly with the way they put it back together.They did repair the original problem, but because of their sloppy job, I'll be losing $2k worth of parts now that I'm selling the vehicle.Service: Engine repair

My car over heated in Las Vegas, and I pulled into a gas station, and a mechanic named Jude I believe, was walking by and was VERY helpful and knowledgeable about my situation. I lived 10 miles down the road and he helped me get my car going so I can get home safely. I couldn t have asked for better help and service. He mentioned he worked at this shop, and would recommend it to anyone I know living in that area!
