****UPDATE*** Picked up my Lotus from Dave & crew. I have been in Lotus Bliss! My car feels brand new. So happy with everything. DD performance now has another loyal customer.I have only taken my Lotus to 1 reputable dealer before bringing her to Dave. Unfortunately, the Lotus dealer in Dallas is no longer. SO. I took my Lotus to Dave and his team- because they were HIGHLY RECOMMEND in the Lotus/Toyota community. I took my car, knowing it may take a while, I knew I was paying for QUALITY, NOT IN AND OUT. I know will pay more for labor. But, I also know this work is guaranteed by Dave and his team. So, if you truly love your high line, track car, race car, supercar, one of a kind, or unique vehicle, you will take it to DD Performance. It will be done = when Dave gets it completed, and it will be done correctly.This is for the negative reviews= 1.) Anyone that complained "you can't reach Dave" WRONG. YOU didn't try. You can text Dave, or call him directly. You can call the shop. And, you can email. 2.) YOU must understand this is a small EXCLUSIVE performance shop. WITH THAT IN MIND-you do NOT have 25 different inexperienced techs 'molesting' your vehicle. YOU will NOT get some inexperienced kid who graduated from a fly by night online tech school that has driven only his moms Kia Spectra.3.) YOU will NOT get your car back in 24 hours or less. WHAT YOU WILL GET IS; A few VERY EXPERIENCED, VERY INTELLIGENT, VERY BUSY, BEYOND INCREDIBLE CAR GUYS,These guys are true car guys. They own, repair, and modify just about anything. Especially some of the most expensive, exclusive, custom, track cars.Bottom line= THESE GUYS LOVE CARS AS MUCH AS YOU DO! AND THEY LOVE WHAT THEY DO, AND THEY DO IT WELL.

I don't normally leave reviews, but I feel this needs to be shared. I had such a good experience interacting with Dave and his team that I don't ever plan on going to any other performance shop in my life for as long as I'm in the Houston area. I went in for some routine maintenance and an inspection for my BRZ and I couldn't be happier with the overall service, professionalism, and just the general vibe of the shop. Any questions or concerns I had were always answered with a high level of technical expertise which gave me a lot of confidence in the work that Dave can do. I definitely look forward to working with him on future projects. Thanks Dave!

I have a Subaru BRZ, no one in Houston found the problem but these people found it fast and they fixed it very well, they are amazing

If you re ever considering using DD Performance Research, don t. Just stop and save yourself the frustration of dealing with people with the follow through abilities of a toddler. Promised parts, prices and repairs done over 2 months before they finally squeezed us in and then under estimated labor by 8 hours, but changed the bill and charged us for their mistake, completely misdiagnosed and tried to charge for their wasted time working on what wasn t even the problem and in order to save us time and money had my husband spend 2 1/2 and a half of a tank of gas to go get them the part so they could get it done first thing after the weekend and finally finished the job on Thursday, charging us double the estimated time on that second project as well and not offering any compensation for our time spent to help them, claiming my husbands efforts saved him money. What we re they going to do, charge us for them going to get the part or the time the car was just sitting there waiting for the part? They made promises they didn t keep about pricing and diagnosis, and were nearly impossible to reach by phone or text, and provided zero status update. Basically, I wouldn t trust them to keep a cockroach alive. Completely unethical in every sense of the word. Save yourself a lot of hassle. Even if the dealer is double the money, it would be worth it not to deal with this business again.

Fantastic experience!!! Dave and his team surpassed above and beyond my expectations, they without a doubt has earned my business for life!!Update; I recently had an issue occur with the motor after having the car for a year full of fun, loving, spirited driving. I returned to Dave to have him inspect the car on the issues I was experiencing. Dave and his team, again and again exceed in meeting my expectations. This company in my experience is by far the go to, best shop for service, repair, or customization and performance in town. They respect and took care of me and the car. Rest assured that you will not be disappointed should anyone give Dave and his team a chance to serve you!

Customer for life. Knowledgeable. Family friendly and approved. Top rated shop with that small town feel.I met these guys 2 yrs ago after a less than honest shop ruined my stock motor. Since then, Dave, Jason, Max and Andrew have more than help exceed my expectations. I have had my motor custom built, routine maintenance done and even let my son play with their kids while having my car looked at. Honestly I could go on, it's simply a great shop with crazy talent, a must for anyone wanting/needing work done.

I had an issue with my air ride suspension in a few areas and had no pressure so car was dropped to ground and could not move. Dave came out personally with his trailer and got my compressor to work and then loaded my car back to his shop. He fixed all the issues with my suspension in little over a day and personally returned my car back to me on his trailer. His expertise, customer service, and knowledge are second to none and will definitely be using him again in the future. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Dave and the rest of the mechanics were very professional, courteous, and friendly during my time there; they treat their customers right. They replaced my clutch in a day, and also reported any other problems (which there were), to me, that needed to be fix just so I wouldn't have any serious trouble down the road. They had expertise on my car and what they could do for me for any performance upgrades, they are very knowledgeable. Would leave my car there again and I recommend them.

Absolutely great place to get your car worked on, Dave (the owner) is the best! Takes interest in you car and project, I had and engine completely rebuilt, new transmission, upgraded brake system and completely changed out suspension system..top notch work and always willing to help you out after he finishes his work with your car or any other questions you may have.... If you care about your car he'll care just as much or even more!I'll always come back here for quality work to be done.

Max took great care of my 2006 Subaru WRX STI. Had it in for a full inspection and they took care of all of my concerns.

Very knowledgeable, quick service, fair prices. Would go to them over the dealer any day of the week even if they're an hour away from me. Dave and Cameron were both great. Even took care of problems I didn't know I had and unlike most dealers or mechanics, I felt confident in their suggestions and work. Thanks DD.

By FAR the best performance shop I have ever been to, these guy are true professionals. If you talk to Dave, even for just a couple minutes, you know he's passionate about performance. They installed a turbo kit on my Celica, I am extremely extremely happy I waited for them to do it.

Dave is one of the most honest person i have met in the racing sport. He is actually working my evo that i bought with the engine completely damaged. He doesn't take short cut, he is very detail oriented and never take decisions prior to talk with the client. Every time has different options which help you to plan your budget. I'm very excited to see the final product of my car and share my experience with all the people who contemplate take their car into DDPR.

After thinking about doing some things to my WRX, and after a few weeks I decided to stay local. I went and saw Cameron and Dave and was immediately greeted with a handshake, me and Cameron sat down and figured out what I could do to get the most out of what I already had on the car and I ended up with an amazing sounding exhaust. They told me it was a good idea to have it on the dyno and tuned pretty soon, the price hourly is really good from what I've seen. I'll definitely be coming back.

Amazing service and great price - actually told me I needed less work that I was asking for (the dealer told me I needed some service work that the car was not due for) Save showed me where my maintenance schedule was in my manual as well. Very knowledgeable, honest and skilled.

Extremely shady people who work here. As far as the Supra community is concerned, nobody should or ever bring their vehicle here.50 hrs total for engine removal, assembly and reinstall? 8 hrs to shim cams? $2800 to fabricate Downpipe, intercooler pipe and intake? $1500 for tuning?Overcharging a customer after he s stated he has a maximum of 50k to spend. 40k into the build the car Is still not running. Now that the customer wants to switch shops, the shop is now threatening the owner of the Supra stating, 33k extra to take your car how it is or 40k to take it running or we keep the car THIS SHOP WILL DO WHATEVER THEY CAN TO STEAL YOUR MONEY OR YOUR CAR. *BEWARE*

Top notch custom build/fabrication shop. DD Reaearch has the skills to do anything. Also can tune many platforms! check them out you wont be dissappointed. Dave the owner is a really good guy who cares about his customer relationships and doing the the best work possible.

DDPR is one of the finest automobile full service shops in the state, if not the country. Although they specialize with Toyotas, Dave is well equipped to handle a wide variety of vehicles. Couldn't be happier with DDPR.
