Best High Performance Shop in Texas. 1st class operation. I used to run Houston International Dragway in Dickinson back in the 70's. Mr. Bumbera is a great guy!

I moved to the USA from Canada 3 years ago and brought my 1969 Stingray with me. I am always cautious about a new garage, especially for this car. I asked around for about 6 months and the same name came up over and over...Bumbera's. I recently had my starter quite on me so I decided to take the car there to get it fixed. They replaced the starter - but went further and also found the root cause of the issue - that oil was leaking from my valve covers and oil distick port (right above the starter) which was running onto the starter. All this was fixed in about 3 weeks (a little longer that I hoped for) but at the end of the day it was done once and done right. This is a family run business with a small town feel in a large metro area. The owner is very knowledgeable about vintage cars and is incredibly honest - before the starter died I took it to him thinking a lifter was bad (tapping sound) which could have been a several thousand dollar repair bill, but he told me it was a simple exhaust leak and fixed it with the starter... I'm very happy I found this shop and will bring my car here for as long as I am down here.

First time coming here with my new 1981 Corvette, they are very professional, helpful, and honest about everything. And a big thank you to Kenny and Sean for the great service, tips, and recommendations for getting the car back in good shape; if you are looking for top quality work for your classic car this is the place to go. I will most definitely come back in the near future for further work to be done on my vehicle.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Unfortunately this shop can be great for wealthy customers who have a big expensive job but not that great for customers like me that have a smaller less expensive job to do.I had my 1950 Ford Deluxe sitting at their shop waiting for a fuel tank and fuel lines cleaning job for over 2 years. I m guessing that my vehicle job required was not very profitable for them since they ignored my vehicle for more than two years. They closed their location and moved without letting customers like me know about it. I finally found out as I pass by the shop and noticed a sign for sale on the property. I contact the shop and got my vehicle towed to another shop. Gear one auto care took over my vehicle and fixed it in less than one day. I m not usually negative but I DO NOT RECOMMEND Bumbera s performance shop to anyone that has smaller mechanical jobs. They used to be great many years ago but they gotten worse on the last five years. When you hear their employees expensing their thoughts as you re vehicle being a piece of s... on several occasions you know they don t want your business. They never touched my vehicle since all the screws had oxidation and locked. I don t see how they claim they flushed anything or touched anything. I m very disappointed with this shop. I have respect for the manager and owner but I sincerely think that their crew of technicians are ether laying or just lazy towards smaller jobs. Thanks anyway and hope the bed to their customers.

Took my classic car to get many issues done on my car over 2 yrs ago. I got questionable service at the time but once the owner Kenny knew about the service that lacked he made it a priority to make it right and gain my trust. I appreciate the effort that is being made and the personal attention I am got on the issues. It seems this is the way they do service and not the latter. Update to come when service is done. Its hard to find a good mechanic and I am hoping to build a good relationship with this shop. (update) Kenny has lived up to his word and his word is truly solid GOLD. They stand behind their work and jobs. Their new staff have proven to be trust worthy and have my confidence once again. Highly recommend Kenny and his staff.

I took my 2014 Dodge Challenger SRT in a few months back for a tune after a bunch of work that I personally did to the car. The service writer took all of the parts description at the time of taking the vehicle in for the tune. They kept me in the loop as they would have to have it for a few days due to being busy with quite a few cars being worked on. Kenny brought out the car when I went to pick it up and chatted for a few minutes. It was easy to see that this is his passion. My car runs amazing and I would recommend for anyone to take their car to him and his team. I will return with all of my cars.

I was having issues with my 2014 Supersnake and a friend recommended that I take by Bumbera's to have them take a look at it. All I can say is that Boyd and Fabian and Mustang Geniuses. They immediately identified the issues and provided me with some options to help improve the performance of the car. I went with their recommendations and all I can say is WOW!!! It's a whole different car now. It is a freakin beast!!!!! I'm pretty sure Boyd and Fabian could teach the boys at Shelby a few things. Also had a custom catch can made by Juan and his work on that was unbelievable. If you didn't know it you would think it was a stock part on the car. I'm so glad I went to Bumbera's. I highly recommend them.

This is the best shop I have ever worked with. They do all my work on my 1991 Z28 Camaro. They are quick to get back with you and patient with every challenge my Z throws at them!!!! I would give 10 stars if I could.

To respond, I spend 5700$ just to get parts put on .... car is running great thanks to other shops which I will not mention due to the fact I don t want to bash your shop. Point blank period if good hard people work hard to trust your shop with THERE car maybe y all should do the work you say ... ps. Some Customers know and understand the parts it takes to have a car running right. That s what summit racing and Jegs plus head and block shops . Tci transmission, Circle E Transmision and Ect .. just because y all don t buy parts doesn t mean YALL can to have A** work. Nice shop love the building. Kenny is a good guy just don t understand how they made me waist 5600$...

I ve know Kenny Bumbera since about 1990 in his old converted tire store on Hwy 6. We office next door and he handled all our fleet cars and trucks while he did hot rods in the back. Always a great job, courteous and accurate estimates. Yes his business has grown but I can tell you, I have 3 old cars that I let no one else touch. In fact he is doing an engine swap for me currently. No I am not wealthy, but have passion for old cars. If your going to own muscle cars or hot rods, you are going to spend some money. Top notch work is never cheap. These guys Rock. I have had some cheap mechanic work done before on my 1st muscle car way before I knew Kenny. Believe me you get what you pay for + usually more cost later from the shotty work.

I was unfortunately involved in an auto accident that left me looking for options to get the car repaired. Instead of going to the dealership that the adjuster picked, I went to Bumbera's. I must say the staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and more than willing to work with me on all my needs and in a timely manner. My car started off with just cosmetic damage, but it snowballed into a failed alternator, failed inter-cooler pump, cracked inter-cooler reserve, but the staff at Bumbera's was great. I asked them to make it right and they more than put it back in order. Car runs great and I'll be back for repeat business as I'm not done getting it to where I would love to see the car. You can't go wrong taking your car here. They will do everything you ask and more.

I took a perfectly running car to this establishment to have it Dyno tested. The engine was freshly built and had no issues prior to taking it there. When I picked it up at barely ran and the power steering didn't work. On further inspection we found the serpentine belt was off and one of the bolts into the engine block was broken. They tried to blame it on the installer of the serpentine kit and said the bolt was cross threaded and couldn't be taken out, they refused to fix it and refused to provide me a ride home, a friend had dropped me off. I arranged for another mechanic to pick up the car and I and take it back to their shop and inspect the car. IIwatched as they did and the broken, "cross threaded", bolt came out easily and on further inspection the mechanic found damage to the oil pan and starter shroud that wasn't there before. It was obvious that someone drove my car while in Bumbera's care and caused the damage. To add insult to injury they Dyno tested the engine after the damage was done while the belt was off and overheated the engine requiring me to have the top end rebuilt at great additional expense. Bumbera himself told me the engine was a "turd", his words, and that I needed to let him build a real motor for it for $15-20k. I called to let them know what we found and they denied it could've been anyone there.I waited quite awhile before posting this but was recently reminded of the entire event when someone recently asked me about this shop. I've known others with good results from the shop so I'm certain they have some competent people. Mistakes happen, but their unwillingness to accept any responsibility for the damages to my car makes them a company I won't recommend or do further business with.

Just Goes to show what a bunch of scammers you are. When I told you about your copyright it was to help you, so you could get it straight before something happened. I was being the nice guy trying to help you. And it just goes to show you are a lier. I did not ridicule anything. I was being informative because at the time we still had a good relationship. You even gave me a cap as thanks. It was not the first time you saw me it was the last. What a lier you are.I gave you the instructions on installing the Edelbrock manifold and you ignored them so I had to pay someone else to do it right to stop oil leaks. And how about the bolt I gave you and told you to put in the intake and you ignored it so I had to take it back to you and get it done right? And how about where you split my vac hose to my brake booster and I lost brakes because of the leak? And how about you did not install the water thermostat I gave you and I had to change it myself and buy another one? You can lie all you want to but I have proof you are a dangerous bunch to do business with. Why after all this time? Because I am fed up with being the nice guy and scammers like you need to be exposed. They are really bad mechanics. Messed up my car's engine just doing simple upgrades. Kept it over three months and when I picked it up it died a mile down the road and had to be towed back because they screwed up the fuel pump. Idiots. They lie, and won't even listen when you can prove them wrong. And the girl that is supposedly a race driver is the worst of the bunch, rude and ignorant. I took my grand-daughter's car there for starter problem. They installed an expensive starter. Then said it was the fly-wheel. I took it to the transmission shop across the street and he fixed it with Loctite. The starter bolt holes were rounded out. Nothing wrong with the fly-wheel when she traded it two years later. These people are so incompetent. They are ignorant scammers. Do not do business with these people. Save yourself some money and grief. If I could give them minus stars I would. Oh and what happened to all the bad reviews that use to be on here? They paid to have them removed. Believe me there were plenty.

Kenny Bumbera reached out to me after I posted my review and he made things right with me. There was a misunderstanding on the scope of the work that I wanted which is why the price was higher than I thought it should be. Kenny stands behind his work and there is no doubt his shop does the best work in town.

After a bad decision to have an LS swap, and Disc Brakes from a "so called" mechanic (who ruined my car, a 1968 Camaro), I took it to Kenny. Many issues and Kenny fixed the dangerous one's. Still have work to correct from the hack, and was not worth the "lower price". Honest folks at Bumbera's from Kenny, to Brett, to Boyd, to Kristin. Straight shooters that will help you and spend time with you to make you happy. Thank You Kenny!

Absolutely dreadful. They tried to RIP me off for $6,200.00 to rebuild the brakes and dual carburetors on my 67 Corvette. As I researched later to rebuild the original brake calipers costs $500.00; add in a master cylinder, flexible brake lines and pads $450. The shop manager Shawn also said the rotors needed to be replaced- they don't. Two new carburetors cost $630.00. To add insult to injury they ran the 67 into something and took a chunk of fiberglass off the right front. Shawn was supposed to get back with me. He hasn't. F'ing ridiculous.

Work is done well. If something was not done right they will fix it but they charge too much money if you don't have an American car. Would recommend to others and would come back again once I get a mustang. Thank you.

I brought my 72 Chevelle for quote on metal work, painting and possibly wiring. Before car was taken to them, I asked if they had somewhere to store car as it had been recently sand blasted and was only in epoxy. After car had been there a couple of days, I got an estimate and decided it was not in my best interest. When I went to check on car I saw it sitting outside with a car cover that didn't cover completely. Needless to say, my car had rust all over it. Ask if they would return to condition that I dropped it off and got the response, "you can come get your rusty shxx out of here". Had tow truck come 2 hrs later and pick up. Just wanted to let public know before you give them a chance.

This is the only shop I trust with my F250. They've always done exactly what they said they would and even go above and beyond to make sure there's no other issues while they're under the hood. Top notch people, top notch service, and top notch shop!
