Ernie s provided me with an excellent experience. They worked on my car when no one else would, they were patient and helpful. The ultimately helped me restore my beloved vehicle. 10/10 definitely recommend

I stopped in to get a quote while I was in town for business. For a fairly long scratch down the side of my black vehicle. I can t remember the individuals name I was dealing with but, they gave me an outrageous quote of $500. I left and decided to wait til I returned home to see my local paint guy. My local shop said wait a second left came back a moment later with a rubbing compound and rag and took the scratch out in a matter of minutes. I strongly suggest not using this shop as they are a complete scam. I d would seek work done else where

Horrible experience. They had my car for 5 months, never would call me to give me updates. The office personnel is rude and disorganized, when I would call they would never know the status of my vehicle and have to call me back which would take days at some points. Thelma literally laughed at me when I called to check on my car a few days ago and I stated it had be almost 6 months since it arrived at their shop, then she asked me to call back because she would forget to do so.The original estimator Jimmy told me they would take care of my deductible but then never sent me paperwork of any kind and quit within a week or so of them having my car so when I showed up to pick up the car the office personnel had no idea what I was talking about and stated I would need to speak with owner who was conveniently unavailable.After not having my car for so long, I just wanted to get out of there with my car so I paid the money.. then the lady gave me the wrong keys to a Nissan- I drive a Kia, I finally got my car and there is random part in my cup holder no idea what it is to, smudges of something nasty on my rear view mirror and I m rarely certain my back window was not tinted to the right darkness.They delayed getting supplements to my insurance company causing the process to take longer than needed and overall worst body shop experience I have ever had which is a shame because I had used them about 10 years ago and had great experience at that time but I guess they don t value repeat customers.

This company is in association with RGC Towing. They are in the business of scamming and manipulating college students into paying for towing and unwilling to take accountability when damaging your car while in their possession. Upon seeing my car after it had been towed, I noticed marks and dents on the rear bumper that had not been there before. Once showing and comparing photos taken by the individual who performed the towing, it was evident that damages had occurred while in the hands of this towing company. I was met with verbal aggression and hostility once pointing out the damages and denied a written policy that the company may have in regards to damages. In addition, I was also denied photos that were taken prior to the towing. A police report will be made. I highly recommend staying clear of this company.

I had very high hopes for this establishment given the reviews. I am afraid they may be false reviews as this was not my experience. I took my car in the month of August for damage to the front quarter panel. They returned it to me with primer on the bumper, the wheel well lining hanging off the the brackets broken. After calling I was assured that it would be fixed and they would call me when the part came in for the wheel well and fix the paint then. I have called multiple times. Now, nearing 8 months later I have never been called back. Please save your time and your money. They do not do good work or honor their word. I am posting pictures of the vehicle. I m actually also hoping this review will prompt some kind of response.

Got some work done here with my econoline van. Guys seemed genuine until the work was done. Had my tint damaged after some work inside the vehicle reported it tho them they said they would get it fixed as i legit paid 900 dollars for why whole van to be retinted just a week before taking my van in. I have went in and I have called over 10 times in the past two weeks talked to some lady and was told Ernie was sick and would call me back have not heard anything so here we are posting a google review. I ve called back a few times can t believe you sick for that long bud. I m just being shafted and ignored over 300buck window quote.If you want your property taken care of I don t think I would take my vehicle here. My floor was also damaged but that was something I could fix on my own luckily.Beware if you have your work done here. They are gonna cost me over 300 dollars to have my window tint fixed thanks guys . Bbb next.

This place is a scam. Took my car into Ernies Body & Paint due to auto accident. They charged the insurance company and the car is still incomplete after they called and said it was done. Now i cant get nobody from the shop to fix what they havent fixed or get money back for a refund. Seems like insurance fruad at this place

Great customer service! Went in thinking I needed a bumper repair but It only needed to be pushed back into place. Ernie helped me instantly and free of charge. Would definitely recommend!

Hey y all, just wanted to briefly give some praise to Ernie s! I m a broke college student like most kids In San Marcos, and when my car was wrecked I was in a bind. Fortunately, after speaking with the managers I was able to have my car repaired w the little cash I had and now I have my wheels back! Thanks to the team at the shop, and they even detailed my car while doing repairs!

My son goes to school in San Marcos at Texas State University. We took his vehicle here for body repair after a minor accident. They did a great job in a very timely manner. Took ernie to court for not completing the job he was paid to do back in November 2023. He admitted that he didn't put the parts on and said, " I'm willing to fix it." I still haven't heard from him since. Cant be trusted

I have had work done on my car twice at Ernie's. They have good prices. Each visit they took their time explaining what needed to be done to fix the body of my car and offered me two or three repair options.I had taken my car to several places to get estimates on my car door replacement/repair. I felt at the other body and collision shops it was a pricing game- they were just trying to get as much money as possible from the insurance company. Ernie's in no way played this game with me. They did a great job repairing my door and even did some bonus cosmetic work free of charge.Service: Body & Trim

I had severe hail damage on my car a couple of months ago and Ernie's restored it to pristine shape. Very reasonable prices and very quick work. Well I just got my car back today from another mishap. I parked in Austin and someone hit my car. Again Ernie's did a wonderful job. They are so nice and responsive. You can't get better body work or service anywhere. I highly recommend them.

Ernie's repaired our van after a wreck. They coordinated with the tow truck driver, our insurance adjustor and our insurance and made the process very easy for us. The van was cleaned and detailed before we picked it back up. It looks and drives great. If you are reading this and are in need of service, my advice would be to just give them a call. They're one of the honest ones that will tell you the truth and you can make your decision from there.Services: Tires, Steering & suspension repair, Painting, Body & Trim

Not being from the San Marcos area and needing a place to take my son's truck to get repaired, we picked Ernie's Paint & Body Shop. I quickly learned that I made the right choice. The professionalism that was extended to me and my son was top notch. I HIGHLY recommend this place. The patience from Ernie was great while I sent him many text messages following up on the status of my son's truck. That right there was very much appreciated. He always responded in a timely manner as well as being courteous with his responses. If your needing any services that they provide, Ernie's Paint and Body Shop is hands down the right choice. This place is fantastic. They are modest in pricing relative to multiple other quotes I received in San Marcos, and everyone is extremely friendly. But above all, their work seems to speak for itself. absoltuely Recommend.

Ernie, the owner, was very helpful and insightful in his product knowledge, as well as knowing what s best for your vehicle. Jimmy provided great customer service upon setting up a time and date to drop off the car. This group of people, even those not named, went above and beyond to make sure I had a pleasant experience with great work!There s no other place I d go; I guess that s why they say, take it to Ernie s .

They worked with me, a friend recommended them and he was right. They did an Awesome job, after my repairs, my Jeep looked brand new, like it did when I drove her off the lot. Thank you Ernie Jr. I took it to get a appraisal for to sell it and if I wouldn't of told them, they didn't even recognize that it was in a wreck and repaired. Now that's great work.

This the best auto repair shop in the City! They are Honest, Straight-forward, Dependable and Inexpensive!! I went to several places for an estimate before I found Ernie's, including Service King just a few doors away. Ernie Valdez was straight-forward, honest and he had my best interests in mind the entire time throughout the repair process. He was able to repair my vehicle for LESS THAN HALF of what other body shops had estimated and it was done with precision care and high quality workmanship. I would recommend Ernie's Body Shop to anyone that needs vehicle repairs. They are a Christian-based organization - and that shows with every employee you interact with at their shop. In a day and age of dealing with dishonest people and poor quality work, this is THE BEST body shop you will find in Texas!! My car was damaged more while in their possession. They claimed that I brought it in with that damage, when I clearly did not. I Was recently in an accident where I got hit in my back left part of the car. When I showed up to pay for my car to get fixed, I asked if I could see my car before paying. As I walked up to it, my front bumper had holes in it and was practically hanging off. Asked them what happened? and the guy instantly looked worried and said I had to go talk to his boss. His boss then comes up to my car and says na I m not doing this today, you are just trying to get money out of me. Mind you I was there to pay a hefty amount for my car to be fixed. He then called me a liar and his co workers who were not even involved begin to yell at me liar . At this point there are 3 grown men calling me a liar and I am in disbelief that they cannot hold responsibility for what happened at their shop. Very unethical place of business. My only fault was not taking pics of my front bumper before dropping the car off, but I did not think they were going to further damage my vehicle. Weird enough how they are suppose to take pics of cars being dropped off by tow trucks, but they said huh, weird, we must have forgotten to take pictures . All in all. DO NOT GO HERE, THEY WILL DAMAGE YOUR VEHICLE MORE AND NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY!!Service: Steering & suspension repair

I spoke to Ernie directly a couple of months before I actually took my car in to be repaired. He was extremely nice, fair, very up front. When the time came for me to take the car in, of course I took it to Ernie's since I had such a good first impression. I was so happy I did. He and his staff are very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I got updates from Allen in the body shop every few days to let me know what was going on. When my car was ready, I was so pleased at how great it looked. They are my body shop from now on. Hopefully, I won't need to use them much , but if I do, they will be the ones I go to. I will recommend him to my friends and family too! Thanks to their wonderful staff for all the great work they did.

I had a FANTASTIC experience at Ernie s Paint and Body in San Marcos Texas. I had a rush situation with getting a front bumper replaced. I contacted Ernie s and Allen at Ernie s immediately took charge and got me back on the road in record time. The workmanship was amazing; it s like there was never any damage and the paint match was to perfection. The price was very fair and reasonable. Ernie s Paint and Body made a commitment to me and kept their promise. Additionally, everybody at Ernie s Paint and Body was extremely professional, friendly and helpful. I strongly recommend Ernie s Paint and Body to anyone out there looking to have auto body or paint done. I m very pleased and I will never use anyone else other than the MAGNIFICENT Ernie s Paint and Body. A Huge Thank You to all at Ernie s .. Great Job.!!!!

I'll start this by saying I know little to nothing about cars. I know how to drive and fuel up. My boyfriend is more knowledgeable, but still he's no mechanic. And we have had a hard time trusting mechanics in the past. So, when he found a hole in what he thought was the radiator of the Jeep, I called Ernie's. I have heard from several people who have worked with him that he is reliable, does really good work and, most importantly, you can actually trust him to be straightforward.Ernie and his staff (including his "Jeep guy") took the time to show us the issue, and explain the entire process and the itemized costs in terms we could understand, and gave us options to get the best price for the best work. The hole was actually in another component of the vehicle. They were very communicative throughout the entire process, even when a part was delayed, and were extremely helpful in expediting things, so we got the vehicle back when promised. I would recommend Ernie's to anyone who needs help with their vehicle. Great service. Great people.

I needed brains and muscle to replace parts on my Honda Accord passenger side mirror. Ernie's was recommended to me by Farm Bureau Insurance as being excellent. When I called to ask about the cost, a very nice woman helped me on the phone and said "just come on over and we'll look at it and go from there". When I got there, Ernie was welcoming and helped me on the spot and was more than fair. When I need a body shop, I'm going back to Ernie's. Thank you, Ernie. This is my first review, and I'm so glad it could be for Ernie's! They're very friendly, quick, and my car looks wonderful! One of the best service experiences I've ever had. Ernie and his team are doing amazing work, would definitely recommend.

I needed a fender and door put on my 2000 Buick. The staff at Ernie's had it done in one day! Everyone I spoke to was courteous and respectful. I met with Jimmy and he was wonderful. Down to earth and gave me the estimate I needed. No trying to find more issues and I never felt like they were tying to nickel and dime me. Every other shop I went to asked how much money insurance was giving me as soon as I asked for an estimate. Ernie's never once asked
