Dealer told me my brakes (at 100,000 miles) were worn and probably should be replaced. Not wanting to pay dealer prices, I went to Champion. Young man told me I didn't need new brakes. I thought that was very honest. I'll go back!

My car was experiencing some strange issues especially after picking it up from the body shop and I couldn t figure out why. James took the time out of his day twice to help me figure out what was going on and fixed the problem for me while detailing everything that was going on. He was super professional and kind, while still being very knowledgeable and helpful. I would highly recommend coming here because they re honest and good at what they do! Champion automotive is the best in San Marcos period. I can see exactly why there is at least a week to get your car serviced. On April 24 my car was broken into. So I was able to tow it to champion automotive and they had fixed my car the next day. Despite having a week long wait. Blue and Lucas were nice enough to fix my car. Thank you

Wouldn't bring our car anywhere else. . Brought a Toyota corolla in for a head gasket. James took the time to chk for cracks in the block , there were three. Saved us thousands. Bought another Toyota corolla to him for inspection. Usually they try to find something wrong to charge you for. ...nit a cent..car was in perfect condition and he was honest enough to say so.not many family run businesses like this anymoreThanks James and Blue

HONEST, INTEGRITY, QUALITY all of the be above from this shop!!! If I could give this shop 10 stars I would, we came from a horrible experience at Lambs Automotive in Buda to this shop. They are reliable and saved me from a 12,000.00 unnecessary repair the other shop had quoted me. Ask for Lucas Collier, he s your man if you are looking for a truly genuine repair man. We can t THANKYOU enough and will be sending all our business your way and sharing your shop with everyone. Please read below what I had to post as a review on the other shop because this is why we love Champion. The whole staff there is wonderful. Thankyou Lucas and team again!!This is the Review about the other shop Lambs Auto in Buda*WARNING* First time bringing my car in here since it changed from McSpaddens to Lambs and wow I am SUPER disappointed. I brought my car in due to a gas smell it was giving- and for them to do a diagnostic test to see what may be the issue. Mind you my car has never over heated or my check engine light was never on. They called me after running a couple tests saying I had two options because they believed I had a broken head gasket. They said I needed a brand new motor For 12,000.00 or they were going to need to replace head gasket and surrounding parts for around 6,5000.00. I know nothing about cars so I call my husband in a panic. Thank God for my husband knowing things about cars. It just didn't seem possible my car needed all that work. So we took it from Lambs and found another shop recommended by some friends. Champion Auto Repair in San Marcos. HIGHLY RECOMMEND taking your car there instead. They are honest, experienced and do quality work. Ask for Lucas Collier, was so impressed with him. They ran all the tests and found NO broken head gasket! Turns out my jeep just needed a little tune up ( new spark plus etc) and more importantly IF my head gaskets needed replacing ,as Lambs had said, this new shop quoted us 2800.00 for the EXACT same repair. Doing research we found Lambs was BEYOND over charging us and charging us for repairs that weren't even needed!! feel pretty taken advantage of, and would still be trying to figure out a way to take a loan out to be able to pay for a repair at Lambs that was never even needed. Definitely won't be trusting this shop. Lesson learned 1. Always do research on cost of parts and 2. Always get a second opinion.*Also noticed that all the five star reviews are actually from the previous ownership which was McSpaddens. Very great experience! I was helped by James and he did a fantastic job walking me through what needed to be done and working with my schedule to get it done promptly. Jackie helped me as well! All employees I came across were very kind and welcoming, always greeting me with a smile. They even allowed me to study in the office while I waited for my car to be done. I'll recommend them anytime someone I know needs an auto repair shop.

Great place if you need your automobile repaired! James and staff are great mechanics who treat their customers with respect and fairness. Blue is a great at managing the services you need and providing quotes. One of the best shops I have ever used. Highly recommended!

A very good friend of ours had some work done on his vehicles and highly recommended James at Champion. We took our truck there and we can truly say we are very pleased. They were able to figure out the problem and fix it right away. They did not over charge us in any way. In fact they were very reasonable considering we didn't have a clue what was wrong with our truck.Thank you! Y'all are awesome!

Really great business! My drivers door wouldn t shut properly, which was a pretty urgent repair! They were working on my car within minutes of me arriving and finished it same day. They were so friendly and gave me good advice on how to prevent it happening again. I will definitely be calling them next time I have car problems.

Helped me rebuild my entire front end suspension and steering on my Chevy pickup. Also came back to get something looked at and got it taken care of ASAP. Lucas stepped up and helped me out big time with the entire process. Highly recommend this company!

To anyone looking into selling their used cars -The tech said it would cost between $3,000 - $5,000 to repair my RAV4, before taking it home he offered to call someone who buys used cars.The potential buyer named Ruben tried calling me a few days later about my SUV. Before I could ever call him back his business partners showed up to my apartment unannounced while I was at work!! The only other person who knew my address was Champion and they NEVER ever asked me for consent.Be cautious with who you do business with and if you're gut says get a 2nd opinion...DO IT!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

This shop is great!! Jackie took care of me promptly. He knows what he is talking about, he is friendly and these previous reviews are wrong, he didn't try to overcharge me but alerted me to problems I need to watch out for in the future. Great shop! Great customer service! I would recommend anybody to take their car to him, he's been doing mechanic work for a very long time and there is nothing he hasn't seen.

You can't put a price on piece of mind. When the fuel pump on my truck when out I was frustrated and confused. After finding the best priced estimate at Champion ARS I went in and spoke with James. After explaining to me exactly what was wrong, the potential cost, and his plan of action for my vehicle I realized that no other other mechanic I spoke with genuinely cared about helping and building a relationship as much as James at Champion did. I highly recommend anyone with any auto need to at least call up their professional team and discuss your options.

James fixed up my A/C in two days! I've had terrible experiences getting my car fixed at Aamco, waiting for weeks in some cases. I was quite pleased with the customer service and the cost was very reasonable. I will definitely trust this business with our vehicles in the future.

I am a mechanics daughter. My Dad has always taken care of my cars. Now I live too far away from him and I have been having trouble finding a trustworthy mechanic to take care of my vehicle. Today I went to a different shop in town and they tried to get me to replace some things that didn't need to be replaced. I am sick of these mechanics trying to do this just because I'm a girl. Anyways, I took the estimate sheet to James at Champion. He took time to thoroughly look into everything with my car and he showed me everything that was wrong with it and explained it to me. Yes I was right, half of what the other place wanted to replace does not need to be replaced! So I got a new estimate from James. I finally found a mechanic I can trust. Hopefully my Dad can relax now and trust that I'm in good hands.

I had an amazing experience with James at Champion Auto Repair. My A/C needed service and I got prompt service and a very fair price. James is probably the friendliest mechanic I've ever been to.

These guys are awesome! They have helped me with three of my cars with everything from oil changes to head gaskets! I have dealt with them since 2008 and I refer everyone to them,they are fair,honest,and just real.i always know they will not charge me for something i don't need and smile and do what I ask when I think i hear a noise in my brand new car:) (I drive lot and have OCD about breaking down one the road)If I could give them a 10 I would.they are the best!

Someone here charged my wife $40 to take a tire off and put the spare on!! Really 40 bucks. Never again will I go here nor will I recommend anyone to this company.. and to tell her after the fact you already changed it out. Cause I can promise you she wouldn t have had you do it for that price.

Found this place on Google and am glad I did. Mr. James was very thorough on explaining what my car needed and was able to fix it the next day. Very professional and smart. Will be taking my car back for any future repairs or maintenance.

absolutely horrible experience... went in to get a transmission leak fixed and get it back with a messed up motor and a transmission that wouldn't shift correctly. Everything functioned great before I dropped it off with them besides the leak. He said it would be a couple hour job and I recive my vehicle 2 weeks later and In worse condition than when I dropped it off ... if I could give them less than a star I would.
